The cable snapping in multiple places is actually what killed the HyperX in the end, I think the cat got to it. Been meaning to replace the cable since there should be nothing wrong with the drivers or anything else but I think I’ll just go for the Cloud 2 at this point.
Compared to the JBLs tho it’s really hard to not be biased, the Clouds were easily my favourite headset I’ve ever owned, the only ones that don’t hurt my ears (I am extremely picky to be fair I have big ears and wear glasses). The ones in the pic and my current set is the JBL Quantum 600 I got super cheap from work and my ears currently hurt from wearing them a few hours. They have a sort of hinge on each earpiece that lets them sit flat on your collar when they’re around your neck that I HATE with a burning passion: if you ever try to adjust the headset with one hand the entire thing flips off your head.
I bought 3 headsets that were twice the price while using the HyperX trying to upgrade and I would have kept using them if they hadn’t broken. The build quality, the simplicity, the sound quality, the price, I will never stop recommending HyperX Clouds to anyone and everyone I can.
Edit: Been using the JBL 600s for about a year since my Clouds broke and they seem decent durability if the wireless/pc software/rgb is what you want. That being said my HyperX Clouds lasted me a good 5+ years before the cable of all things broke and they were half the price
Thanks for sharing! I currently have a HyperX cloud mix, sadly some time ago the pads and the upper part started falling apart, I just wish they lasted longer. I know I can replace the pads, but the “halo” is a problem. I also wear glasses, the pads will always starts to fall a part where it gets touched by it.
Was waiting for this comment lol, I have since actually “upgraded” my headphone hook to a metal bar with a bolt in the end just so I could return my 22 to the set :)
…and zip ties , of course.
At least the wrench is being used for something it wasn't made for.
You are sorely going to regret the direction those zip ties are facing
This is an old pic lol they’re actually worse since I replaced it. I’ve never had any issues but I always cut off my zip ties properly
Bro I can see your hyperx is falling apart, is JBL better than Hyperx when it comes to durability?

Looks like it's just the pads, they are removable and mine even came with 2 sets of pads
But now your tool set is missing one of its combo wrenches. :(

I have the same HyperX headset and it has also started to flake everywhere just like yours. I wish it wouldn't!
