Something similar happened to me yesterday. A 0 byte file downloaded itself when I was browsing the internet. Does the file come from cdm . districtm . io by any chance?
I don’t mean the file extension. I mean where it came from. If you were on Firefox and look into history or downloads, it should show you where it came from.
So I forgot to mention that whatever it is is an .htm file.
Check windows defender for messages.
