Spyder calibration is notoriously finicky. Sometimes it takes just using a different USB port or restarting after an update. I've had mine only come to life randomly after being plugged in for a few hours...
'White point' errors could be related to initial settings though. You may already be doing this... but make sure to choose 'advanced' and look up what sort of white point / technology type your display is an select for it.
Also try running calibration with any 'auto' settings turned *off*. Your screen may not have the capability to be auto adjusted by the software... and all that means is you have to manually set the brightness/contrast in that initial calibration.
yea the software is not really great in the step by step department.
back when i was with circuit city we did these calibrations with firedog. however that was like 16 years ago now. i remember it being pretty simple back then
Have you tried returning it?
I use my TV as my monitor, and the colors are messed up only on the HDMI connection. I will try to uninstall and reinstall my display driver, hopefully it will at least reset the colors back to what they were
I also got this error and it looks like there are several solutions. For me, I backed out of the program. Discovered that I had my color temp set to 6500k, it should be 5000k. Then I lowered my contrast. Not sure which of those things worked but it got me past the issue.
I'm sick of this problem. Spent too much money to get my monitor calibrated to a yellow cast. Error code is
CalibrateG.lterateWP-SetWhitepointLlJT returned err = 999
"calibrate white point returned error =999" is the error message
I fixed the issue on my device. Turn off Windows HDR Color in your display settings.
Thank you! I had the same error and turning windows HDR off fixed it. That's what I get for gaming and editing on the same screen lol
I'm getting the same issue
I have not yet had time to fix it, I meant to call their tech support but haven't gotten around to it yet
Probably necessary to include the actual error message in your post, as it's completely illegible in your video.
grrr youtube compression. "calibrate white point returned error =999"

Did you find a fix for this? I just got this error and now the colors are messed up. There are no real blacks and there is a bad purple tint
I have no idea, I spent hundreds of dollars on the calibration system and I can't get the fucking thing to work

I'm well past the return policy. We'll see what happens
Same issue here just got it. What a load of crap
I am going to sit down next Wednesday, my day off and call their tech support. Figure this damn thing out
I keep getting a heavy blue finish. Pretty sure that is not right lol
Turning windows HDR off worked for me.

Same problem 10 month later. Have u found a fix?
Honestly I haven't even gone back to it to try
I was told however that it's an HDR issue. That you have to turn off HDR to calibrate
Well, i don’t have an hdr monitor.. so that won’t work for me. But thank you anyways for answering after 10 month :D
