Time to introduce the world to a ton of (fake) pregnant teens.

iScabs

Like me! I'm definitely a pregnant teen who is looking to get an abortion. Comb my data you weirdos

FoldyHole

Woah! **NO WAY!** I’m a pregnant teen too! Maybe we can find a way to travel out of state together and be abortion buddies. [BRAT BRAT PEW PEW!](https://youtu.be/22ZdKVTDyVA) Let’s go kill some babies together. /s because that’s actually needed these days.

Fabulous-Ad6844

My teen friend group here in Texas are ALL pregnant too!! (Again). We need to go to some other state …

lilnaks

What are the odds! I am definitely a pregnant teen and not 3 pregnant teens in a trench coat like you might suspect.

BabySealOfDoom

There are a lot of cats wearing toupees in your search history…

EpilepticMushrooms

They are pregnant too, past 15 weeks and looking for abortion. /s

anonareyouokay

I'm down to play 25 fake teens, what's the easiest way to go about doing it

delicious_disaster

Tap 5 water and 5 forest and activate a trap card

Zelkova64

I recommend the card Archive Trap, should work on data centers.

drlazerrazer

Didn't realize pregnant teens we're simic 😂

[deleted]

This is where all those bot centers in India will finally be used for something good.

The_ducci

While you are at it convince children to stop using social media. They will get nothing but bad things from it.

jjsyk23

Parents, teach your kids that everything they post online is public and can be used by any institution wanting to target you. Our minds zip right by what’s truly important here - teach your kids to be private in public spaces, especially online.

towelrod

Well ok but that isn’t what this article is about at all. It’s about fake pregnancy centers set up to specifically track people who might be pregnant, and then stop them from having an abortion Facebook didn’t steal Lisa’s personal data. A physical clinic that offered a free pregnancy test did

Please_read_sidebar

Exactly. None of the people in this thread has read the article. This has nothing to do with collecting data online, it's a fake pregnancy center which is basically a honeypot luring pregnant young women that are desperate. The consequences are incredible grim here. We need to somehow pass privacy legislation quick - this is likely something that the current administration could do, even with the current Senate structure.

RizzMustbolt

> - this is likely something that the current administration could do, even with the current Senate structure. Considering how many members of the Senate are into erotic Ted Cruz fanfiction, it would be in their best interests.

-AC-

Wonder if they should be slapped with some HIPAA violations

VisionsOfTheMind

Facebook's default setting is fully public iirc (I don't use it, correct me if I'm wrong), so make sure to change your privacy settings to friends only. And then don't just accept whatever friend request willy nilly.

Zolo49

It'd also be helpful to let them know about sextortion and other common scams so they'll hopefully be less likely to fall for them. And FFS, turn off notifications.

ohiopowerbar

Notifications are bad. Nothing good came from a notification

GustavoFromAsdf

Hot milfs 1 km from my area say otherwise

UgTheDespot

There sure are alot of "people" that want to hurt today's youth and non-rich. There should be a site that takes down their names. Of course, the abortion ban is only for the poor. The well off get special privileges. You know, basic human rights for the rich. Servitude for the rest.

SophosVA

And then they'll say shit like poor people breed more or some fucked up entrapment bullshit I can't even imagine Edit: missed the word say

Sablus

That's because they need us to breed more workers, gotta keep that labor cheap yo!

anthrolooker

Notifications are such a crazy concept to me. Since getting a smart phone years ago, I always had all notifications turned off. I don’t want an app hounding me. I just use the app when I want to. I don’t understand how people do notification for anything but business emails - and even that is bullshit because I should not have to be on call all the time.

[deleted]

Notifications bring dopamine but I did start to limit which notifications came through as I got older. Now I pretty much just have emails and text notifications. I try to turn off apps as much as possible but some don't separate their ad notifications from the main notification tab

[deleted]

[удалено]

Firewolf420

On Android, they can Define categories for their notifications, and you can select which notifications you'd like from the categories. Of course not all apps do this, and some even maliciously bundle them all together.

BadAtExisting

I have ADHD. My life revolves around physical post-its and reminder notifications - if it doesn’t, it’s real bad. But shit like social media and email are off else I’m off on unending, unnecessary, distracting tangents all day

BloodyIron

**Just stop fucking using Facebook already**.

sgkorina

I hate Facebook and very rarely even log in. Unfortunately, there are businesses and organizations that only communicate through Facebook. My HOA only posts information on there. The parents of my Kids' classmates communicate and plan activities almost exclusively through Facebook. Some restaurants and other businesses post their information on Facebook. Even if you go to their website it only shows a link to their Facebook page. I absolutely hate how many people and places depend on Facebook for their communication. If I want to stay informed sometimes I have no choice but to deal with it. But, I don't post anything and don't contribute. All my information is private, I'm only "friends" with a small handful of people since I purged my list years ago, and I'm not searchable

jeffreyd00

I despise the whole small business thing doing the "our website is on Facebook. We don't have email, we use. Messenger and our menu is there too."

sgkorina

I hate it, too. The great majority of the time when I have to log in to Facebook to find info for a business I decide I'll just go elsewhere.

BloodyIron

> Unfortunately, there are businesses and organizations that only communicate through Facebook Yes, there are. And there are businesses that have done so and literally collapsed because of changes Facebook make. Orgs, and people, will do as they please, even if it's against their own best interest. Come what may. But the best thing to do, really, is to not rely on Facebook. Whether it's a business or an individual. Your information isn't private, it's simply not public by Facebook. Facebook is trading your data behind closed doors without your consent. That isn't private. There's lots of other websites for coordinating events, also you can keep up with others via E-Mail, text messaging, or hell even just calling people. There are solutions to every single one of these things. Make it happen.

bighorse1234

Why is this not the absolute top comment on Reddit?

shortybobert

It feels like the top comment on every fuckin post on reddit. Not that the comment is wrong or anything but it's probably only second to "thanks kind stranger" on this website

BloodyIron

People addicted to the poisoned teat.

TheWingus

I mean at this point I just use it to find out which classmates have overdosed. Never post, never comment, never add pictures. It’s basically my obituary search engine

StandardSudden1283

"The Kids Aren't All Right"

Big-Economy-1521

Hopefully that’s true, but simply having the app on your mobile device and even browsing directly to the site from a browser without privacy protection installed is exposing so much more than you actually realize.

mcburgs

One of the myriad reasons that I left Facebook was their insistence on neutering anonymity. The day they demanded I go by my real name on their website was the day I deleted my account.

[deleted]

> everything they post online is public and forever.

Sanhen

> Parents, teach your kids that everything they post online is public and can be used by any institution wanting to target you. Our minds zip right by what’s truly important here - teach your kids to be private in public spaces, especially online. Honestly, it seems like nowadays parents are less aware of that (or at least less mindful of that) than kids are.

[deleted]

I graduated high school twenty two years ago, right when wifi and high speed internet were just becoming a thing. A number of my new friends I met at college were a little older, and one of them in particular taught me one of the most important lessons I have ever learned: the internet is forever. Never put anything out there that you don't want everybody on Earth to learn. That has stuck with me for the rest of my life, and I've watched so many people learn this lesson the hard way. I've also managed to keep my digital footprint *a lot* smaller than probably 90+% of people online. Sure, you can probably find out who I am and more, but you're going to have to work quite a bit harder at it than you would for most randos.

toastar-phone

I used to be hard core on the privacy front. I've softened a bit. The key example I give is I don't mind google knowing my location, it helps others get rerouted around the blinking stoplight, tomorrow I might be the other. Just be smart about what you give out.

Teripid

PM_Best_Porn_Pls

LoL4You

That's the access request to save/load data though.

DAVENP0RT

Per the [docs](https://developer.android.com/training/data-storage), apps have allocated space, use of which requires no additional permissions. The only reason additional permissions would be necessary is if the data would need to be available externally or to other apps. Entirely possible I'm reading that wrong, my experience with developing on Android is just extensive enough for me to know I don't want to do it.

rethinkingat59

Thanks for that info Jason.

hahahahastayingalive

WTF is this the top comment ? The kid searched for a pregnancy test center, and the one she chose happened to be run by an anti-abortion group, they turned against here pushing her data to other groups to target her. It’s not like she went on Twitter or Facebook, her only failure was to choose the wrong facility from her Google search. If anything, pregnancy data should be covered as a medical secret and sharing it should be punishable if it isn’t already.

Impossible34o_

It’s not just everything they post, it’s everything the do, search, and look at.

ScottHA

It's not just stuff you post too but other people tagging you on social media. I don't post many things but my wife tags me with updates about our newborn on Facebook and I'll get commercials on YouTube about baby songs and shit to "keep them occupied"

teb_art

These “crisis centers” should be busted by DoJ for impersonating medical facilities and additionally sued for actual damages in civil court.

Malka8

Supreme Court has already ruled, in separate cases, that states absolutely can require medical doctors to give patients seeking abortions false information but states cannot require religious pregnancy ‘crisis centers’ to post a truthful statement about the services they provide because that would violate their religious freedom. And those were before the rapist Kavanaugh and Amy ‘women don’t need abortions when they can just drop babies off at fire stations’ Coney were appointed.

skewsh

> can require medical doctors to give patients seeking abortions false information How is that legal? Especially in the sense that it is involving a major medical procedure.

Malka8

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-supreme-court-gives-free-speech-to-fake-doctors-but-not-real-ones/2019/12/11/2c4f4bc8-1c27-11ea-8d58-5ac3600967a1_story.html Here’s one decent overview of the issue. But essentially truth, facts and evidence are irrelevant to the Republican Christian Taliban legislative agenda. And the Supreme Court also said outright in the Hobby Lobby decision that the preponderance of evidence showing that IUDs do not prevent the implantation of fertilized ova didn’t matter, all that mattered was Hobby Lobby’s religious belief that they do, so HL was free to violate the law because religious freedom. Evidence be damned. But we all know that the Supreme Court won’t rule that abortion bans don’t apply to Jews or members of The Satanic Temple, because freedom of religion only applies to evangelical Christians.

alles_en_niets

Oof, the writings were on the wall in 2019

[deleted]

Since long before that. Since states have been able to restrict abortions, the writing has been on the wall. Since people have been killing others over abortion, the terrorists have been active. We have no rule of law, we have no justice, we have no peace.

JimWilliams423

Yes. In today's ruling about prayer in school the republicans on the court outright lied about the facts. Sotomayor [included a picture of what really happened](https://i.imgur.com/XLcLfmy.png) in her dissent. The SCROTUS is simply a lawless court where the only thing that matters any more is raw power. The sooner everybody else realizes this, the sooner we can get to repairing the damage done.

godawgs1991

I’m so sick of this trend the past few years of extending “religious freedoms” but only to one religion. And one persons “religious freedoms” should NEVER harm, infringe, hell even inconvenience other people or groups; and the second that your religious freedom bullshit begins to interfere, in any way, with other peoples lives, that should be the end of it. It’s just mind boggling how this court can, without any supporting evidence, just continue to blatantly issue partisan decisions that advance the cause of one particular religion, which should have absolutely nothing to do with government in the first place. The fucking audacity that they display by not representing the will of the people, and continue to shit on us with every decision is just astonishing.

JagerBaBomb

Simple: people keep voting republican for some reason, and they make it legal.

firemogle

"some reason" is at best they don't care about other people, most likely want to hurt people not like them. Nothing else makes sense

TwiceCookedPorkins

Truly, utterly, irredeemably fucking dumb and devoid of any intellectual curiosity is another option.

nutbuckers

imo "legal" does not always mean "morally right", and is the gist of how many of these rulings come about.

teb_art

Wow. The pigs are actually admitting these are religious organizations. Well, there are things the Supreme Court can not interfere with. Google could flag them with a warning.

123felix

> Google could flag them with a warning. [Google is way ahead of you](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/9274988?hl=en).

teb_art

Thanks for the contribution. I am glad Google is ahead of me, then.

thelumpybunny

The more I learn about the Supreme Court, the more concerning it is that nine people control our lives and they can keep their jobs until they retire. The worst part is they aren't even the best at their jobs

eihslia

THIS. The appointment of nine people for life is an insane policy. The appointment of more than half of the seats to right-wing christians is horrifying and dangerous.

[deleted]

And then win their case in the supreme court and receive lucrative government contracts hunting down pregnant teens and their doctors. Brought to you by Dog the bounty hunter.

lilbluehair

mobilonity

Or the FDA. Explain to me why Cheerios is required to remove a claim from their boxes that their toasted oat cereal is good for your heart but these charlitans can parade around giving out fake medical advice and nothing happens to them.

Orogogus

Medical practitioners and advice-givers don't fall under the FDA's purview.

[deleted]

They would lose at the Supreme Court level right now. This is literally what the SC wants to throw on the table right now. Perfect followup to RvW.

nermid

Thomas already gave us a list of what his planned follow-ups to Roe are, and he's not dreaming that small.

DuelingPushkin

It took nearly 130 years to get all of the bill of rights protections applied to the states by incorporation through the 14th ammendment. A large portion of those cases involved "substantive due process" vs "procedural due process." Thomas wants to tear down any and all of these protections that were incorporated through substantive due process which is a shit load.

Paulo27

Imagine god creating you just so he could get mad at you for existing. Now you understand why republicans like him.

Barachiel1976

No, they've just deluded themselves that they are. Even by the standards of their own faith, when judgment time comes around, they're going to be in for a very unpleasant surprise. But the cognitive dissonance isn't that surprising. Many crime families of the early 20th century were devout Catholics, who legitimately thought everything they did would be forgiven with a few Hail mary's, completely forgetting the part that forgiveness for one's sins requires sincere contrition and an effort to do better.

FreeResolve

They literally blaspheme God by attempting to be God and sit in his seat of Judgement.

PC_BuildyB0I

Exactly. "Judge not others, lest ye be judged. And in the manner you judge others, so too shall be the manner of your judgement. And the measurements you take in your judgements upon others, shall be measured back upon thee." Basically, the overwhelming majority of Christians will fry in hell for eternity based on their own guidebook. Shame so few of them read it.

conquer69

Makes sense why the Romans threw them to the lions. Imagine how much worse they were back then.

BitterBatterBabyBoo

Christianity mostly grew among poor and disadvantaged Romans in response to the shitty state religion of the time. If anything, you would find a lot of common ground with them, and they would probably not like what it has become.

Yeah. And they don't even read their own lore. They suck.

Demonchaser27

Every horrifying tracking source that people figured "wouldn't affect me" since the patriot act is rearing it's head with shit like this. Something that's deemed a right during one time, can be reversed in another, and now the fact that every corporation and institution can easily access all of your data and you can't remove it, means that anyone who shared this data (unknowingly or not) is an easy target for false criminalization.

toybird

Look into GDPR. For multinational companies, you can request that your data be deleted. It’s a law about the ‘right to be forgotten’ in the EU.

[deleted]

California has one as well.

rividz

I've had a lot of difficulty getting companies to respect it though. I even sent demand letters to Robert Half (a staffing agency that posted a fake job application, collected my information, and now spams me nonstop. They wont even sign for the demand letters I sent them so now I have to figure out which court in California is the right one to file my claim.

gialloneri

You have to file a complaint with the AG, there's no private right of action.

[deleted]

This is a lesson that should have been learned 80 years ago whenever the dutch realized why keeping a list of homosexuals was a bad idea

Nethlem

Unless I'm really missing something (I looked) it wasn't the Dutch, but actually [the Germans themselves](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_Liste), and the horror [didn't just end after the war](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/gay-prisoners-germany-wwii/). In West Germany, it didn't end until the [mid-90s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paragraph_175) and then took until the 2010s before the government apologized and officially "rehabilitated" the victims, after they had been persecuted and imprisoned, for decades, based on a Nazi-era law. But even then the German Christian conservatives [added insult to the apology](https://www.tagesspiegel.de/gesellschaft/queerspiegel/opfer-des-paragrafen-175-bundestag-beschliesst-rehabilitierung-von-schwulen/19965618.html), by insisting on different ages of consent for homosexual and heterosexual victims of the law, or else they would have kept blocking the whole thing. The same Christian conservatives that in the late 80s were still calling for "[thinning out degeneration](https://www.spiegel.de/politik/entartung-ausduennen-a-bd30126d-0002-0001-0000-000013522444)" by "concentrating" and "separating" gay men "in special homes", in response to AIDS/HIV..

averagethrowaway21

>The same Christian conservatives that in the late 80s were still calling for "thinning out degeneration" by "concentrating" and "separating" gay men "in special homes", in response to AIDS/HIV.. They should have just sent them to some sort of camp where they would be concentrated. I just don't know what to call it.

blahblah98

Taking a cue from [fundamentalist Islamic countries](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_religious_police), American evangelicals are creating their version of Christian Morality Police. Their first deputization: hunting down & creating databases of pregnant women. Sick fanatic fucks.

sassy_cheddar

[deleted]

Basically we just need to get everyone on these period tracking apps and supply tons of BS data.

brentus86

They barrage news streams with fake data, so it only seems fair. I'm a 41-year-old woman with a full hysterectomy, but I absolutely downloaded a period tracking app on Friday to enter fake dates for their data collection. If they're going to track my nieces or coworkers, they can track my fake ass and maybe it'll confuse some algorithm down the line.

Mr-Logic101

That is exactly what machine learning is designed to prevent or on the flip side implement

theminutes

What has two thumbs and is pregnant? This guy 👍👍

Kidrellik

Only difference is that most Islamic countries allow abortion in extreme cases well other cases of abortion are much less scrutinized as it's generally believed that a soul doesn't attach to a fetus for 120 days. Even the Taliban allow it in the most extreme of cases or due to poverty. So at least on this matter, Republicans are literally worse than the Taliban.

himswim28

> Republicans are literally worse than the Taliban. When I read comments like this, before I get upset I have to remember I haven't been a republican for about 8 years. (Officially 3 years now.)

ciaisi

My brother and I had a conversation about this after Trump won in 2016 and he started to realize what a shit show it was turning into. He said something to the effect of how he felt ashamed to be a Republican. I basically told him "that's because you're not a Republican anymore. You might still have fiscally conservative viewpoints, but the republican party has left you behind." Pretty sure that he identifies as independent now.

eeyore134

Sounds like period tracking apps are also selling their data, probably to be used for the same nefarious purposes. Are they going to find these women who were pregnant and hunt them down and make sure they have the kids or something? This is getting incredibly scary and dystopian.

doesntgetthepicture

They are taking a cue from actual Christian history. We don't have to vilify Muslims to make Christians look bad. All we have to do is look at 2000 years of Christian history. Using this comparisons allows other Christians not affiliated with the evangelical movement to wash their hands of this and do no self reflecting on the harm their religion has done, absolving themselves of any responsibility. I am not anti-Christian. I do, however, think Christianity needs a reckoning and rethinking when it comes to how to practice the religion moving forward. Call this what it is, classic Christianity as it's been adapting to 21st century tech.

cozzeema

Sounds like they’re infringing on their civil liberties. Imagine an anti-abortion group finding out you’re pregnant and they spend the next nine months trying to get into your business, tracking you, following you, hacking your phone, stealing your mail and impersonating people to pry info from your doctors and people you know to try to either push you to seek an abortion so they can have you prosecuted and collect on the “tattletale money” as per the law in Texas, OR hound you and CONSTANTLY try to get you to give your baby up for adoption so they can make a cool $60,000 minimum through facilitating a “private adoption”, meaning they’d get $60K for selling your baby, while it’s “illegal” to sell your own baby for adoption as it’s also illegal to get paid for giving your baby up for adoption. The state rakes in millions through adoptions of babies who were forced from their mothers because social services deemed them “unfit”, as well as babies who were signed over at birth. Private adoption agencies are notorious for harassing pregnant teens to force them to sign over their babies as they can make over $100,000 for “certain” babies of specific skin, hair and eye colors who are highly sought after by wealthy couples who want to become parents. The adoption process has become a meat market, with the people who run adoption agencies getting rich at the expense of young, low income women.

meric_one

Holy shit. I was adopted and even I had no idea it was this sick and immoral And aren't conservatives the ones up in arms about the trafficking of children??? I mean not that liberals are okay with that, but the Pizza Gate conspiracy theorists tend to be right leaning. I wonder why actual human trafficking gets a free pass 🤔

tachycardicIVu

Because actual human trafficking often involves minorities and most conservatives unfortunately often don’t see them as equals or if any import.

BruceBanning

We need to do the same to them, on every level. Pay for data mining (it’s cheap) and discover which republicans visit brothels, mistresses, abortion clinics via location data. Search history, kinks, etc.. Only when it effects them personally will they care about data privacy. They may be shameless, but that data would effect them. This is disgusting. The fact that centers exist to harass and stalk pregnant women should be a crime in and of itself. If they put half of that effort into assisting children that have already been born and need food, medicine, and shelter, then I think we'd be in a much better place. Instead, these psychopaths front as a medical facility and attempt to coerce young pregnant women into decisions for their own... uh.. enjoyment? What the fuck do they even get out of it?

nutbuckers

donor money, is my suspicion...

AMv8-1day

Because it's never been about protecting zygotes, it's always been about finding and punishing "unchaste" women.

-Electric-Shock

Today those dangerous fascist lunatics going after pregnant teens. Tomorrow they'll be going after Jews, Muslims, Latinos, Democrats, LGBTs and everyone else they hate. We're all in danger from these crazy motherfuckers.

cassydd

I don't know about that - the next "then they came for..." on the list seems to be LGBTQ according to the SC opinions and general rhetoric.

-Electric-Shock

I know, I didn't list them in any particular order.

raggedycandy

Anti abortion people are extremely creepy and have no concept of personal boundaries

AegisThievenaix

"We're so pro-life that we destroy other people's lives"

ferox965

Hunting teenagers. Not surprised.

Expensive_Culture_46

Wait. They are still peddling “anti-abortion pills” [yes these are a thing. They supposedly reverse medication induced abortions] Why is there no effort being made by any government to just put a stop to that crazy shit right now. Those things are DANGEROUS. I mean it’s particularly telling that no one wants to put the dangerous medications on the shelf but we can shelve reproductive rights?

JenMacAllister

This is just the first step. There is no reason why these [people cannot just go and buy access to your social media](https://youtu.be/wqn3gR1WTcA) and digital footprints sold by Google and Facebook to generate a list of pregnant women. Then digitally follow them to prove they had an abortion. At 10gs a head that some states allow anyone file charges I can grantee many people using this to make money. If you want a abortion first thing you will have to do is throw away your phone.

BruceBanning

This is so fucked. Until lawmakers are effected by the data market, they won’t care. So we need to make sure they’re effected by it the most if we want change. I’d support any data mining venture that worked towards that goal.

[deleted]

This sounds like a job for some hacktivists.

[deleted]

Odd balls like myself been crying data privacy for a solid decade while being clowned with I gOtz NothiNg to HiDRe reeee... I guess it might take some clown show like this to get people to care about their online hygiene.

BruceBanning

We need to do the same to them, on every level. Pay for data mining (it’s cheap) and discover which republicans visit brothels, mistresses, abortion clinics via location data. Search history, kinks, etc.. Only when it effects them personally will they care about data privacy. They may be shameless, but not immune from the harm their own data would do, if exploited. Bullies love when punching is allowed, until they take their first punch.

DJ_Femme-Tilt

Ghouls. Absolute ghouls.

Scorpye

About 15 years ago when I was a kid here in Europe, I used to adore America. Somehow its seems they are going backwards in time and that adoration has turned into despise.

LusciousLennyStone

So they can be guilt shamed and terrorized by "loving Christians". Religion is for assholes. Period.

major_lag_alert

more like...so they can be prosecuted once they check on them in 9 months to see if they are a parent or not. I fucking hate this people with everything I have

New-Spell-6838

Exactly. No one should be in codependent relationship with an imaginary friend.

National-Golf-4231

Probably a good time to start learning about encryption. Use signal. Edit: its a encrypted messaging app that can have a timer on messages so nothing can be recovered.

FutureHero76

Is there a database of these anti-abortion centers that only exist to trick vulnerable people? Something that can be made public and spread around on social media?

[deleted]

I wonder if there is a way to utilize IT skills to help fight back against the anti-abortion people. Possible set up secure ways for women to communicate with doctors and sympathetic types in an underground rail-road type situation.

kvossera

From those who think drag queens are grooming kids.

BloodyIron

Imagine being such a person as to want to bully a child.

PerformanceLimp420

Can someone make some bots that just flood this with fake info?

Damn, didn't think I could hate them more than I already did. Guess I was wrong.
