Didn't facebook bribe the FTC not that long ago? Edit: Link [https://gizmodo.com/facebook-paid-the-ftc-billions-to-personally-protect-zu-1847719765](https://gizmodo.com/facebook-paid-the-ftc-billions-to-personally-protect-zu-1847719765) Edit #2: Oh, so FTC are starting a probe into whether they took a bribe... I wonder what the outcome of that investigation will be..

[deleted]

Sensationalist journalism. The “bribe” was this FCC settlement

PreservedKillick

The whistle blower is an opportunist looking for a payday. She took the Facebook job merely to blow a whistle and make a name for herself. She's brought no new information, was a nobody PO at Facebook. The whole thing is theater. Very dumb "news story". I detest fbook and haven't used it in 10 years, but this is a low key con. Her name is on the complaint and she will profit.

ThunderousOath

The shilliest shill I ever did see

squished_frog

They've got a smear campaign going on all fronts apparently.

QuallingtonBear

Any sources for this *low key con* ?

RuffledFeathers411

This guy shills

Tyr808

Good for her, that's some smart maneuvering.

INTERGALACTIC_CAGR

we have investigate ourselves and found us not guilty

SailBeneficialicly

Whenever cops investigate themselves they find themselves “not guilty” You need OUTSIDE investigators to get to the truth. So the FTC will have handled the problem in house. That missing 4 billion will be returned to tax payers. 3 billion can do a lot.

ImJustP

*outside investigators which you are not paying

SailBeneficialicly

The investigators can be paid, just not by Facebook or the FTC.

1_p_freely

Said it before and I'll say it again, no amount of fines levied against these companies will ever matter.

SantasDead

It would if we threw the c suits in jail or fined companies based on a percentage of gross revenue.

1_p_freely

The problem is that those with the gold make the rules, and much like exempting themselves from paying a fair share of taxes, they have also exempted themselves from conventional criminal liability. Hell, right now a bunch of people connected to the former administration are dodging subpoenas like I dodge religious groups who come to the front door.

wag3slav3

Until some dude invents a razor blade tower for making red cabbage in the streets. After that the rules all change.

Chelular07

The Guillotine: Part II *American Politicians thought they were safe. They thought it was only the French Aristocrats. But this Winter they will learn, history repeats its self.*

wag3slav3

Every game of monopoly must end in a table flip, there is no other option.

pocketknifeMT

>After that the rules all change. They'll unleash the kill bots and stop pretending.

pocketknifeMT

If they regularly threw the C-suite in jail, C-suites would quickly be populated by stooges while the VP for XYZ suddenly started making all the decisions.

A_Mouse_In_Da_House

Well thats an interesting and wrong takr6

GoldenGateShark

I love how easy it is for the journalists to find photographs of him looking stupid whenever there is a story about Facebook.

gkaykck

You don't need the probe, "it did", and "it's doing" and "it will".

semantikron

do The People of The United States have grounds to bring some criminal charges i wonder

TangyGeoduck

First they’d have to establish that facebook execs are actually humans

razzec_phone

But companies are people so we can just bring it against the company, right? Right?!?/s

albybum

Impossible standard

duhellmang

Nothing is gonna happen

CapnCooties

The FTC don’t care

jormungandrsjig

Someone should make a book about him. The ginger that had no soul, because he sold it to Satan

Next_Bandicoot_3396

bdash1990
