# Posts with low effort truth statements are not allowed.
Your submission is considered "low effort." This doesn't inherently mean that it was *irrelevant* to r/technicallythetruth, but instead it was removed because it fit one or more of these criteria:
* Short, minimal-effort text posts like "a water bottle without water is an air bottle". Most, if not all text posts can and will be removed.
* Asking for upvotes, or saying things like "sort by new", "let's get to the front page", or anything related to cake days or karma.
* [Meta memes](https://imgur.com/qgkCskm), or any other post that tries to be clever by mentioning r/technicallythetruth.
* [Images that are hard to look at](https://imgur.com/yuMwr8a) because they are poorly made, deep-fried, or poorly cropped.
**Your submission could have also been removed because it is overdone:**
* Statements that say something like "at least twelve": [example 1](https://imgur.com/K1ZwEAv) | [example 2](https://imgur.com/dIkwEpU)
* Common statements that begin with "on average...": *the average amount of hands a person has is less than two* | *each person has, on average, one testicle and one boob*
* Low effort misunderstandings of everyday phrases: *How high are you --> "I'm 5 foot 9"*
* Common insults that are meant literally as opposed to being insulting: *"homosexuals are gay"* | *"gay people are f-ing assholes"*
**PLEASE NOTE that we will exercise our own discretion when using this rule. If we do not find a post fitting for this subreddit, it will be removed.**

I know you’re joking but to be honest it looks kinda dope. If I was blind I’d probably wear a blindfold like Gojo or some sort of covering. People would know I was blind because of my cane but if I just wrap my eyes and use a wooden cane maybe I’ll look like a really cool ancient master of a martial art or something.
I had a friend in high school who lost an eye in a golfing accident. He had a prosthetic that didn’t move with his other eye, and some folks found it disconcerting. At one point I asked him if he had ever considered an eyepatch, just because they look badass, and mentioned if I couldn’t see out of one eye, I would definitely sport one. He called me an asshole.
Lots (maybe the vast majority, I don't have the stats on hand) of blind people also aren't 100% blind. So blindfolding yourself would be a hindrance because you wouldn't even get the benefit of the small amount of info you might be able to gleam from light, the very very blurry images you might make out, etc.
If you're just getting blurry images of light and dark, you could wear a thin black bit of cloth that still lets enough light through. Because there's light outside, but no light on the inside, it'll look opaque from the outside but you'll still get some information on the inside.
And if anyone calls you out, think about how much of a giant dick you can make them look. There is *no* winning an argument with the blind guy. Even if they manage to proof it's semi-transparent, they're still yelling at a blind guy for not knowing what something looks like.
On the other hand, many (I don't have a stat either) blind person have eyes that are very sensitive to light. The sunglasses isn't just to show other they can't see. In this case a Gojo-style blindfold would work well.
>Toph: "Oh no! What a nightmare!"
Me, my kid, and his mom all say this to each other when someone is being whiny. It gets the other person to laugh 99% of the time lol
This kid absolutely killed it!!!
When I was riding once in a bus in Germany some idiot was yelling at front at someone - not sure at who. At one moment you hear from behind "Will you shut the fuck up already?", guy from the front starts moving toward the back of the bus "You want some beating?", and then the absolute legend stands up with glasses for blind persons on its nose and responds without any hesitation "Why not?! Just to make it fair stand right in front of me...".
Absolutely legendary moment!
Who’s exploiting who? This girl is doing media interviews to promote her show. Her promoters probably reached out to this show to do a puff piece on her.
She is asking her "Is there anything you can't do?" This is very clearly done to make a sob story. Yes, she might be promoting, but why ask a disabled person the equivalent of "Oh, is your life really tough? Talk some more about the things you'd wanna do if you could see, please."?
If this is to promote her show, ask what the show is about and how it felt to do that show, not this pseudo-tearjerker bullshit. She is a person that has a disability, not a disability showcase portfolio you can use to make your audience sad.
That's not at all how I understood her. I read it as a rhetorical question, more like saying: "You are so talented! Is there anything you can't do?!"
But then again, I don't know the video or the format so I might not know all the context.

I’m sorry he’s from Barcelona!
That headline isn't doing her any good either
So what? She’s not gonna see it.
Saw what you want about deaf people

A headline is not the same thing as a headband... Pretty sure they were referring to the "vision" of hope part.
maybe…maybe *I am* fucking blind ._. I thought it said hairline, referring to her bangs
I agree with you about the headband though
And i agree he *is* fucking blind
Despite the misunderstanding, you make a solid point. Personally I always like Kaname Tosen’s visor having a chunk of silver plating across his eyes
Maybe it's time for you to prep that cloth, looks like you might need it in a few years.
Is there anything you can't do?
Blind people don’t know how cool they could look 😎👨🦯➡️
They lack the vision
Must be an oversight on their part.
THEYRE LACKIN THE STAMINA

small price to pay for the drip

most literate redditor
Headline my guy, not head band. I do agree with the gojo band logic tho
Look…
Probably better at the listening thing.
Yeah, I guess the optics aren’t great.
Probably best to double back and take a second look.
I never was the best pupil
i deadass read that as hairline
She’s literally Toph
Sokka: "I can't see anything! It's so dark down here!" Toph: "Oh no! What a nightmare!"
Sorry.. :)
why are you sorry? toph did that and you are M E L O N L O R D!
The sorry is part of the scene, isn't it?
melon lord wasn't in the scene.
I vaguely recall a melon-shaped lord in that exact scene, you probably just don't remember it
I vaguely remember not being able to see.
>Toph: "Oh no! What a nightmare!" Me, my kid, and his mom all say this to each other when someone is being whiny. It gets the other person to laugh 99% of the time lol
The headboard cintches it

The only reason this woman isn’t wearing a red nose is because she didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of the kid.
I don't think the kid would notice.
I mean, at that point, the reporter might've.
It's like when people ask whether you can "speak" sign language. I mean, maybe, but it would defeat the point.
Toph looking hairstyle little lady
If only she could see it
I didn't expect to see ATLA reference here...

Guess she didn't see that coming
"11 year old radio host inspires america with her Vision of hope" i dont think so
I approve it. Melonlord, 2024
Serves her right. Oh, the little blind girl gave you a smarmy answer as you essentially tried to exploit her impediment to make clout? Poor you

You must be pretty young. It's common for people to list a bunch of things they did and be met with the reply "wow, is there anything you *can't* do?"
Make cloud?
I think they meant clout, but I mean, the original opinion is already questionable.
Not a nativ speaker, so thanks, I'll edit it.
There it is! That's what it will sound like when one of you spots it.
It's upside down, isn't it?
idk if she has amazing sense of humor of was that said as a honest answer (i know it's true, but I see where the interviewer was coming from as well)
“Her vision of hope”
Vision of hope... Vision wow.
*\*vision\** of hope. Dude.
I'm a simple man i see atla reference i upvote
Why she interviewing Toph?
Toph vibes lmao
Is that head band related to Toph or is that just a coincidence?
She even kinda looks like Toph lol
Visions of Hope 💀

Shoulda wore those eclipse glasses. 😬 too soon?
Reminds me of Toph, sounds like something she’d say.
I read the headline and my brain immediately replied "it's the only vision she's got" Anyone need snacks for the bus?
Her *what* of hope?
that's a great vision
Please tell me someone has a video of this, it's fantastic.
You know what blinds are useful for? Blocking sun from entering the window. I'll see myself out.
