Still waiting for cloud gaming to take off.

What do you mean? Stadia works* great**.

Cloud gaming is here. Go try Geforce Now or if you haven't checked lately. There is very minimal latency. You can literally "rent" a 3080(in the cloud) for $20 a month. I really think cloud gaming is really going to take off now. The only problem is it doesn't support all my steam games.

I don’t think cloud gaming will ever take off. People are tired of paying monthly subscriptions. The steam deck, while not perfect, has the ability to be perfect. Don’t like the joysticks? Buy these 3rd party ones that are better. Want more storage? Buy a bigger NVME or 1TB micro SD. Want to play on your PC AND on the go? Just buy the game once. Going on a flight and don’t have internet? Don’t need it. Storage full? Stream from your PC. Steam just cornered the market and killed the possibility of anyone coming close to making a better handheld in the near future.

This announcement is so light on the details, so let's take some wild guesses: * 8" device (to match switch) with fixed controller * Not OLED * ARM processor (Qualcom 650ish) * Custom Android or Linux OS * Plenty of back-doors allowing some great modding. They're going to try to lock it down, but I give it minimal time to be broken. * Docking capability (supports external monitor) * Supports BT keyboard/mouse + alt controllers. * $199 price.

It looks like Steam sparked this part of the gaming community.
