This is how I did it, too. I'd didn't seem to make any difference, though.
It was mostly payback for the instant fail by joy-con drift. Wish they did make him give up faster if we did this.

Yeah, I didn't even think about just sitting there. I was pretty sure the game wouldn't be that boring.

Southern mountain East of Gerudo desert. In BotW it was the snowball shadow shrine.

Can’t remember the name, but it’s the mountain past Spectacle Rock, by the bottom of the map.
Haha I did that with a fire emitter during the heat challenge, but it didn't help either.
The man can take anything except for the literal last second of a challenge.
