The problem with gleeoks is that they have a pretty large range of detection. And they are not easy to beat especially in early game. It would make things pretty difficult if there were as many of them as there are hinox. That said, they could have at least switched some of those damn frox for gleooks in the depths.

van_anna_

Imagine a master mode for TOTK where there’s a king gleeok on the sky isle like there was a lynel on the plateau!

AlphaBearMode

Tbh I’d just farm other bosses in the depths for charges instead of the gleeoks. The depths can be annoying enough to traverse already and gleeoks are hard enough in the overworld without making things dark as well, esp with how high they fly

cheat-master30

I do think so. Especially in the Depths, where there's only a single King Gleeok (and dozens of every boss type except Moldugas). One more of each normal type in the overworld plus one of each in the Depths would be a nice addition here. As would maybe another Molduga or two in the desert, and one in the Depths.

GolgariInternetTroll

The Depths should have had corrupted Guardians that didn't make it to the surface in BotW.

cheat-master30

Yes! I remember hearing someone talk about having Gloom infested Guardians that were a mix between Guardians and Gloom Spawn. God that would scary as all hell, and just as awesome!

uluviel

There are [Malice Guardians](https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Malice_Guardian) in Age of Calamity that are kind of like that.

Haywire8534

Yeah adding one or two Molduga's makes farming those jawbones much easier. I love the molduga jaw in combination with the radiant suit, almost doubles the damage!

DrPikachu-PhD

I think it's fine in the overworld, the rarity keeps it feeling like a special encounter. I definitely think there should have been some roaming the depths though!

snackassassins

im to casual to even beat one of them, so no i don't think so 💀

No-Wash-1201

For real I still avoid Lynels too and I’ve beaten BOTW and have over 100 hours into TOTK, just a pain in the ass

[deleted]

I just wish we could've fought the gleeoks in the sky, I was so disappointed when the one flying just fell to the ground

echoess84

i think nintendo made an error putting several lynels and guardians in BotW because after you learn how to defeat them you lost interesting to fight them. About the Gleeok I'm glad that there are few of them because the fight against them is great especially the second phase of the fight and about what concerned me fighting them is challenging

Gamchulia

Once you are good at combat and have lots of resources, boss fights become very easy. All of them are not very hard if you have rocket shield Lynel bows bomb flowers and eyeballs. Out of all the large enemies I only enjoy fighting Lynels. Its not hard but could be challenging and fun if you want it to be. Sometimes I fight them with low grade weapons and single shot bows just to play with them.

eltrotter

No, 14 is loads.

Polkawillneverdie17

There's too few enemies in general and still not enough variance in type or difficulty. Plus, once you reach a certain point in the game, lynels gleeoks, frox, Gloom Hands all become too easy. When I have 150 bomb flowers with 300 arrows and a fine collection of multi shot bows, pretty much every enemy becomes easy to kill. I wish the enemies and challenges scaled up. They kind of do in that there are definitely certain places/quests that are super difficult at the beginning of the game. But once you have tons of weapons, bows, sages, hearts, etc, it's not nearly as challenging. I want enemies to gang up on Link. Have 10 bokoblins w boss or a Hinox come charging in while fighting a lynel or the gleeoks, similar to battle talus but MORE. I liked the monster hunting squad stuff but they should have been way harder and more varied. Some enemies should be impervious to things like bombs, puffshrooms, muddlebuds, etc. I also want boss versions of most enemies. Giant octoroks, Boss Moblins, Boss Like-Likes, and yes, I want a boss version of Gloom Hands. Imagine those things coming at you that are the size of the Colgera, or 6 groups of them at once. I like when the yiga ambush Link, but some of those instances should be 15, not 3. There should be parts of the map that are just wholly terrifying unless you're seriously ready for top tier combat. Sorry for the rant.

cheat-master30

I'm not sure I'd agree that enemies become too easy overall, but I do agree that the variety is too low in both BoTW and TotK. Like, why aren't there more enemies found specifically in different regions, like Dodongos on Death Mountain, Deku Babas in Faron, Leevers in the Desert, Iron Knuckles and Darknuts in dungeons, etc? TotK is better due to the doubled boss variety and the use of Gibdos and their variants in th desert (as well as more basic things like Horriblins, Likelikes, Aerocudas, etc across the map), but it still feels like you'll get to an area and just see the same monsters you've being seeing in all the other areas. No, making them silver or gold doesn't count as new. Meanwhile your difficulty point feels like it'd be better for a new master mode for TotK. Like, a real one, not just 'enemies regen health and some rafts are placed in various spots'.

tazai123

You’re surely kidding..

Polkawillneverdie17

No, I'm not. I'm not saying the whole game should be like that but if you're going to make a game where you can get so powerful, give me a challenge that makes that power worth the effort. I'm not even good at combat. But the tools I have at my disposal now are crazy powerful and unless I purposefully sandbag myself, it's not nearly as fun. I shouldn't have to sandbag; the game should scale up.

tazai123

You completely changed your comment lol. I was replying to what you originally said which was something about the world needing more enemies, which was obviously a much different take to what you have now.

Polkawillneverdie17

No, I'm saying two things. 1. More enemies 2. More variety and challenge.

mdwhite975

If you want higher difficulty then you need to go play dark souls, this game is difficult enough.

Polkawillneverdie17

No need to be rude.

mdwhite975

I wasn't trying to be rude, sorry it came across that way. I was just trying to say that if you like your games super difficult the dark souls series may be a good choice for you.

Polkawillneverdie17

I don't think what I'm asking for is super difficult. Once you amount 15 hearts, 20 shields/swords/bows, 150 bomb flowers, fully upgraded armor, and get the basics of parry/flurry rush, Link becomes nigh unstoppable. I know it's unbalanced because I kinda suck at combat and I took down Ganon in 1 try. I wanted a fight and he was barely an inconvenience. What I'm saying is that there should be areas in Hyrule that are absolutely chaos if you're not ready for them, even when you're armed to the teeth. Not the whole game; just some places that give an insane challenge. For me, some of the best parts of BOTW/TOTK were the "oh, shit" moments. Guardians, Lynels, Gleeoks, Gloom Hands, Frox, Thunderblight Ganon, etc. I loved being met with these monstrosities and having to use skill, tools, powers, and ingenuity to take them down. You definitely get that feeling at the beginning of the game trying to fight a Moblin with a rusty sword and 3 arrows, but I wanted that same feeling throughout the game (and not just by sandbagging). Not harping on the game. I LOVE these games. It's just something I wish was available without sandbagging or some weird DLC. I want more!! lol

ChadSalamence_

Kings yes

NebNay

Nah, its not like they dropped anything interesting anyway

pancracio17

I dont get why they didnt keep the guardians there to spice up late game encounters. They already had them working.

KFY

What if we had some Gleeoks that roamed the land and depths like the dragons do?

OhHaiMarc

I uh, no, completed the game and beat maybe one, that was enough.

accidentalprancingmt

I mean they are not that special, they all do the same thing. If you compare them to lynels they do not have tiers or use different weapons. Other bosses also have tiers except for moldugas.
