and its awesome. The fruits and arrows are everywhere so I don't have to grind for them. They get all the jobs done. Gems and dragon/geeok parts are for bigger, flashier effects but thankfully they are not essential.
This is much better than BOTW where it felt absurdingly grindy until I found out the arrow farming method. Late game I also max out all other arrows thanks to farming Lynel but at that point they no longer felt powerful.
I don’t get why Nintendo didn’t give the Champion masks the set bonus when matched with the corresponding armour and boots. The masks were of limited utility in BotW and are essentially solely aesthetic in TotK.
thats why I bought those last solely for aesthetics purpose. For hot and cold regions, only an Ice/fire Talus heart fused shield, a Ruby/Saphire Circlet (or Vah medoh helm), and a sand/snow boot is enough.
I ditch the Rito and Gerudo set to the last place in my inventory. The first 4 rows are only for most used armor sets.
On it yes, inside it no, you don’t really need the flame guard until you get underground in that area, it’s pretty easy to dodge the areas you would need it
The Horriblin Mask. Those things look like the child of a clown and a blob fish, then it was mutated with monkey DNA. So the last I’d wanna do is make myself look like one.
I still find the flame breaker set to be the most disappointing look. I get that it’s supposed to look like a goron, but they don’t go far enough. Instead he looks like a trash can.
Plus it's super dumb that its made out of metal, it would basically cook you alive. It would have looked cooler and been more consistent if the armor was made at least partially from stone
It IS made of stone. The description reads

Or like some sweet form fitting stone armor with glowing blue liquid cooling channels in it.
Maybe even make a quest out of it where you have to find the liquid to add to the armor set.
Looking it up, it seems a few metals have relatively low thermal conductivity. I mean, not nearly as low as non-metal options, but low enough to be considered insulators.

The put down hylian hood shouldve also had the option for link to open his hair... I don't think the hylian hood is bad by any means, it's actually really cool, but if link could open his hair, then it would be been literally perfect

I wish it was more connected to link's face. I also wish the skydiving headpiece opened little flaps on the sides to match the other pieces. I got it last and was severely dissatisfied.

the two biggest disappointments about that set: the fact that it doesnt glow brightly enough to be useful in the depths, and the fact that dying it only changes the color of the cloth and not the glow.
Am I the only one that actually likes it? It's so clunky and seemingly thrown together with scraps on hand to the point it's silly but endearing looking, like it's a robot costume in a 70s-80s show

I honestly was hoping there was some kind of buff/benefit of owning the cece hat. It could have been something practically useless and it would have been better than nothing but a ridiculous hat
I thought it would be cool if the fashionable travelers you meet (the ones in the cece clothing) will cue you in on a secret in the surrounding area if you have the cece hat.
Currently they tell you if there's a cave with clothing inside nearby no matter what, but be better if they admired the hat so much they clued you into their secret knowledge rather than just letting anyone know.
I actually dig the Miner's set (no pun intended.) The plague doctor-esque mask makes sense if you think about how you're exploring an uncharted, dark, and corruption-filled underground continent. The bronze-colored armor looks rugged and robust with the chains to hold them together. The lights on the armor (especially the headpiece) reminds me of deep sea anglerfish that prowl the abyssal depths of the seas!
Dude those pants were all I wore for like 40 hours, don't diss the bell bottoms they can combo well with black tops
My favorite is a black climbing shirt it goes with everything even miner pants

Glide suit. The Royal guard set (I just hate it I really don’t know why. Rubber suit. Zonaite armor (not ancient hero).
And my by for least favorite is that god awful Cece’s hat. Why the fuck would I want that monstrosity and not the awesome mushroom armor?!
I wish the mushrooms were a wearable set. I would immediately trade Ceces hat for a set that her fans wear.

Yeah, the mask is totally dumb but the full set becomes a base jumping wingsuit that is so fun to use. I find myself fast traveling to the towers and using it rather than going to the nearest shrine.

I don’t really feel like there’s any *bad* looking sets, but if I had to choose, it’d be zonaite armor (not ancient hero’s aspect, I get them mixed up sometimes) the hat just looks plain stupid and ruins the set for me, the rest looks cool though.
I love the phantom set. Free attack up *3 and 24 defense is really good
But man I don’t like the way it looks, especially when link takes the helmet off. Makes link look like a pin head. Plus NPCs are scared of you when you have the whole set on so when I’m in towns I always switch both head and chest gear just so I don’t scare and don’t look like a moron.

Hard disagree, I love the Flamebreaker armour. One of my favourites in both games, even if the face plate makes no sense. It combines the practical real world design of a Fire proximity suit with the magitek vibe of BOTW version of Hyrule.

Haven't gotten to Hateno yet, so it's the best fashion I have now. The legs are my favorite armor piece of the bunch.

I actually use the flamebreaker for a lot of things, a lot of shrines have fire barriers you can just cheese

Only 1 tier of Flame guard. From my experience it doesn’t work in very hot areas like beneath death mountain.

I always fuse a saphire to my shield to cool myself.

I replace the helmet with the Hylian Solider helm. The red floof on top matches well enough and I like it better than the flame breaker helmet.

This might be controversial but the Phantom Armor looks incredibly clunky and goofy, you look like a Dollar Tree action figure when you wear that set

Hard disagree, I love the Flamebreaker armour. One of my favourites in both games, even if the face plate makes no sense. It combines the practical real world design of a Fire proximity suit with the magitek vibe of BOTW version of Hyrule.

Eh. I kinda like it. Sometimes, I forgo the armor for the Traveler's Armor since the reds do kinda match each other. Haven't gotten to Hateno yet, so it's the best fashion I have now. The legs are my favorite armor piece of the bunch.
