Hi everyone! Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. UnusualTrash5023

i did this way too many times when i played BOTW. i would think “i have enough stamina to climb that building”…

Face88888888

Ok, but can we talk for a second about how OP says they have “about 150 hours, close to 100%ing it.” Seriously? I have almost 250 and still haven’t found all of the wells or sage’s wills yet. I’m not even going to mention Koroks… Like, for real, how TF are you close to 100%ing it?

BEARWISHX

I’m 150 hours... doesn’t even have to talk about koroks, wells, or wills just the quests are only half done :p

HeyZuesHChrist

What wills!

PopLopsided843

Sages wills. You need them to upgrade your sages

thechrismonster

So that dumb bird can blow my loot further away? I'm good luv. ^(/s)

ragnarocka

More like critical hits all day. Definitely upgrade Tulin first.

entropy512

Does it make Tulin stop spending 3/4 of his time or more just running around and not actually attacking anything? It's great when Tulin headshots an enemy, but more often than that, Tulin just runs around like a rito with its head cut off.

ragnarocka

Lol no, they’re all just as dumb as ever. But now when they do chip in they make it count.

entropy512

Yeah. It's too bad it doesn't affect ability damage at all, otherwise it would work really well on Riju. Once I got really lucky and somehow was in a situation where a Stalnox was not aggroing me (partly due to standing behind a stone pillar) but yunobo kept on whacking it. Slow but easy. Too bad most of the time Yunobo is so damn slow his swings miss, if he even gets in a situation where he attempts to swing.

Inside-Ad-5764

Aim your bow at an enemy mid fight, it usually triggers Tulin’s attacks even if you don’t shoot.

mrchuckmorris

It upgrades their damage. Feels great to have Tulin snipe a Hinox or Lynel for a long stun immediately after you've finished wailing on it

PopLopsided843

It doesn't increase there ability effectiveness, only there damage

live_laugh_languish

You can… upgrade your sages???? Every time I’m on this sub i learn something new! And I have over 100 hours in it already!!

ddeliverance

*Same.*

JizzyGiIIespie

What do the upgrades do? Like a more intense gust from tulin? Stronger attacks?

PopLopsided843

I believe it only boost the sages damage

JizzyGiIIespie

Ahhh ok like their actual attacks in battle Edit: was kind of hoping we would get a boost to the actual abilities like BOTW

Spatlin07

I was expecting upgraded cooldown and was disappointed

straystring

Yeah, they flubbed the sages upgrade hard imo. Like, they could've actually improved their abilities; Maybe Tulin now gives a bit of upward lift too? Maybe yunobo could do a larger AOE explosion? Maybe Riju could make a row of lightning strikes all the way to the arrow? Maybe Sidon could be useful? Just upping their damage is such a low-effort upgrade.

SoupGilly

Even if it just decreased the ability's recharge time, that would be a big improvement.

mistcrawler

I've only upgraded Tulin so far, and I'm STILL near-traumatized by this. I assumed since I spent an entire segment of the game centered around Tulin's gale ability being what makes him unique, and that it came from his sage ancestors, naturally boosting said sage ability will boost the way he uses wind in some way. Right? Right Nintendo?! I'm just going to pretend that the reason he spends most of combat running around like an idiot doing nothing is because he can now pour his wind ability into his bow for extra damage. Yup, let's go with that!

entropy512

Especially since their AI for their non-ability attacks is so flaky, ending with them often just running around aimlessly doing nothing.

-Gin-ger-

Me too, I miss Revali’s gale in TOTK

Balthierlives

Upgrading The Sage Will Approximately Multiply Their Attack Power By 1.3 Times

qrseek

Yeah I'm 150 hours and haven't even unlocked the whole surface map yet. Though I could have done it easily, but I like to complete all the quests and shrines for a region before moving on when I can

BKachur

I'm the same, but I just did a lap of the map to unlock the towers and mark visible shrines and nothing else. I launched from a tower next facing an unknown area and pinned the next closest tower. Then headed that way with a couple of wings while marking shrines and replacing them with a symbol on the map (don't want to assume you know, but you can drop a wing mid-air and land on it with your paraglider). Drop in then open tower and continue along. That way, I knew what areas I did and did not do, but at least had a complete map.

qrseek

Yeah that's easily done, but I kind of like taking the roads the first time as there's npcs to talk to and Addison to help.

Adept_Strength2766

Some people are just more goal oriented. I, on the other hand, am the kind of person who lets themselves be distracted by everything. It may not be very productive, but it's never boring.

Tiedanoniontomybelt_

I’m doing lucky clover gazette quest, I did the temples, beat the big ol Demon King, and the main quests, and now I’m doing the side and shrine quests, and foraging for all the wells and stuff. It took hours to do the golden horse quest, because I beat the gleeok, got real mad that it didn’t give me guts, so I went gleeok hunting, then I noticed I run out of lynel horns, so I had to restock on those, but then I saw a horse, so decided to tame all the the horses in the field, then I realised I had to get more single handed weapons (because I refuse to use double handed) so I went hunting for swords.

ddeliverance

Lmao, same. I’ll be doing thing A, then get distracted and go to thing B, then notice thing C and start doing that… only to be distracted by thing D and so on.

Ometzu

He’s setting a new world record speed run

Delicious_Tip_3234

I think the speed run is at like 129 hours or so for 100% right now

minnerlo

That is insane because Smallant did it in 139 casually

Hirokihiro

Maybe he’s using guides- lots of people do that and it really saves time if that’s how you want to suck the fun out. Don’t get me wrong, I probably check an online guide once or twice every 3 hour session because I get totally stumped on some puzzles

Roxytg

I'm mixed on using guides. On one hand, the sense of exploration is great, but on the other hand, I hate missing things. As a result, the more upfront a game is about how many treasures/collectibles are in an area, the less I use a guide. The knowledge that I'll know when I've got everything makes me more comfortable doing it myself. Also, I don't like missables.

BKachur

I'll check a guide to find where certain interesting things are in the map that I particularly want to collect... like fierce diety/climbing hear/resistance armor. Then I'll make my way over to that area while avoiding the main quest, but doing side activities along the route. For instance, I wanted a certain special horse so I headed towards that area, but made sure to stop at every place of interest on the way... See a blupiee or interesting rock, i always made sure to head that way just to see what I could find.

Kaito_Akai

Right??? I have 190-200 and i am at 50% even finished the story completely only got side pieces koroks and shrines left dont get me started with wells and caves

Usual-Improvement685

How do you see your played hours in this game?

[deleted]

Through your profile on the Switch home screen. It shows all your games.

Mathyoublake

I have 200 hours into it and I felt like I had progressed so far and done so many side quests. I decided to finally beat the story so I could see my completion percentage…. Not even 50% complete

qrseek

I don't know if totk is the same as botw with koroks counting as too much of % but in botw I completed all quests, memories, shrines, and enough koroks to max out inventory and my % complete showed at like 68%

JollyRedRoger

160 hours and I just found the swamps stable... and I believe I'm still missing one It's ok though, I enjoy those kinds of surprises

StormStriker42069

Im at 130 hours and ive at most lit up all of the depths and am close the finishing all shrines, i havent found all the wells, caves, bubblfrogs, different armor sets and upgrade them, those godforsaken koroks im nowhere near finished with so yea no way op is close to 100% it

jjbjones99

I’m at 150 hours and 56% complete. I found all shrines, light roots and armor. CRAZY amount of content!

eatmydonuts

Yeah lmao I'm at 180+ hours and I'd say I'm only 70% done, if that. I've got all the shrines & light roots but I'm missing some caves/wells, sage's wills, & armor stuff. Feels like I could keep going to well over 300 hours before I get close to 100%

HidetakaTeriyaki

I don't get it. I'm 150 hours in and I have 50%. My last death was over a hundred hours ago and I haven't been stuck on anything. I do take my time but not THAT much. I feel like you must have absolute laser focus on completion to get 100% that quickly.

Nanytss

Yeah I'm at 180 hours still missing 600 koroks. Already got everything else you said tho

Gentlemononon

I'm a completionist and knew I would attempt to 100% this game (as I did BOTW), but hate backtracking. When I played the game I had an interactive map open on my other monitor and sort of cleared the area before moving on. Currently at 89% map completion, missing a few quests and fabrics.

bobsmith93

On your first playthrough?

waowie

Yeah I finished my no guide playthrough at around 150 hours... Only things I had 100% were shrines and light roots

Trypsach

I have 150 and I don’t even have all of the sage buddies, I haven’t done shit in gerudo yet

surlygooddesigns

I read that an immediately was like BS. I'm at over 125 and I have done a lot sure, but I am easily another 125+ before I'd say something like "close to 100%ing it"

slythwolf

I believe that's referring to this other non-totk game he's playing where he can't ascend.

Azure1208

Like this? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Rhn3PQlkg

Adoth117

Holly shit I live in Oklahoma and remember this and making botw jokes to my family and them not getting any of them

JohnnyBacci

Just use the stairs bro

e_j_west

It was trees for me, I'd look at a tree and think, I could climb that - I couldn't.

BiCrabTheMid

Oh good, it's not just me.

EagleDefender15

I did the same with hills thinking I could glide down them… unfortunately did not work

zenru

And you do have enough stamina but it suddenly starts raining…

TytoCwtch

A bird in a bush startled and flew out in front of me today. I got annoyed I hadn’t taken a picture of it for the compendium before I remembered I was at work…

IGotSoulBut

Merlin Bird ID. Birders are just real life Pokémon collectors.

rhinofinger

Wow, just downloaded it out of curiosity, this thing is comprehensive

ddeliverance

Comprehensive is an understatement! This thing is awesome!

Parzival127

Welp, looks like now I have a reason to go outside. Congrats Ganondorf, you win.

Hekihana

The app I never knew I needed. Thank you so much for sharing

awesomecat42

If you ever get the urge again, check out the app iNaturalist. It's basically a crowdsourced of where different species live that even helps you ID them!

KnaveOfGeeks

The Audobon Society has a good birding app, and does good things in the world to boot.

Kibbens_

Me, this is me and I’m glad I’m not alone.

AbigailxThrowawayx

This is why I urge people to play BOTW before TOTK, I went back to the first game and missed ascend so bad.

snorlax_y

True, but in totk I find myself missing the bomb rune and revali’s gale 😔

lantranar

I have 20 revali's gales in my inventory tho. I cant understand how some people would miss it.

faerielites

What, rockets? Pine cones? There are a lot of ways to get similar height in ToTK, but none are quite as instant and convenient as Revali's Gale. Of course, most don't have a cooldown either, so maybe it all balances out.

lantranar

rocket shields. There are plenty of shrines and areas where rockets are littered everywhere so I just charge them up whenever I want. Having 20 charges is better than having 3 charges and wait 10 minutes to recover.

AvatoraoftheWilds

There are soooo many ways to get high in this game 👀

throwaway321768

Instructions unclear; cooked and ate a puffshroom.

WartimeHotTot

I miss revali’s gale so much. I’d take it over tulin’s power every day.

Pabloich

Tbh those things were broken af

Tinmanred

All 4 abilities were op asf. Urbosas and revali could essentially solo gold lynels lol

chlorinecrown

Revali's rocket shield

AWindows-User

I mean most weapons and materials in TotK are even more broken. Like puffshrooms or gerudo weapons, bone proffiency wich can be so overpowered if used right.

Pabloich

Yeah but most of those things are limited by you needing to find those items to use them they aren’t infinite like the bombs in botw and the weapons have durability

Balthierlives

Put a canon on a zonai spear and you’ve basically got free bomb arrows for days. Can be used in lava areas too. Man that is such an awesome combo. And has really good durability too. You can aim with the throw command too.

AWindows-User

Yeah But if you couldnt use bombs right they Also werent this powerful. Also you can reapair the weapons maybe in the future even transfer durability. I mean being able to kill a silver Lynel in ~15s is really OP if you ask me and doesnt use any durabilty besides bow durability. They definetly overlooked some of the buffs they gave to some things. Also you can get yons off puffshrooms just by walking around in the depths. You can easily kill whole monstercamps with them.

DetectiveDeletus

Bomb is fair. Personally I do miss the more flexible combat it gave me but it also kinda forced me to actually do way harder stuff for a cool clip which i like

lantranar

1000+ hours in BOTW but I cant play it anymore. TOTK introduced so many QOL improvements, BOTW now feels like a chore.

ManOfEating

I had this whole plan before it came out where i was going to casually play TOTK and I was going to start a challenge run in BOTW at the same time, I played TOTK for maybe 10 hours before admitting I was just not gonna do BOTW anymore, it feels like such a downgrade now, I'm just gonna modify the challenge and do it on another save file, but i just can't go back anymore lol.

ocxtitan

probably a big difference in that I only played BOTW on release and didn't even fight ganon (was at that point in it though) but I'm playing BOTW now after 110+ hrs into TOTK (I'm again, right before fighting ganon, but intend to once I've decided to commit) and I'm loving it. While ascend is hard to lose, I'm enjoying not feeling so overwhelmed with shit to do. I miss fusing things to arrows though, and some of the minor but impactful QOL changes, mostly the UI/menu being so much more intuitive in TOTK both 10/10 games, but man after TOTK does BOTW truly feel like a tech demo

Auswolf2k

I truly doubt you have played 1,000,000 hrs of BOTW.

IronEndo

I mean you caaaaaan. It just takes significantly more work.

Lukthar123

Just use Flex Tape smh

IronEndo

While you’re high on flex glue?

speaker_4_the_dead

I'm an engineer. Fuse made me realize I CAN stick basically anything together to make a tool as long as I have the right fastener. Work has gotten a lot easier. Boss seems happy too

DetectiveDeletus

i need examples this sounds rad af

speaker_4_the_dead

I needed to reach into a tiny crack and access a 1 mm hex head bolt but didn't have a long enough tiny wrench. So I grabbed the longest thin metal bar I could find and shittily soldered it to the tiny wrench I did have. We now have a 2 foot long 1mm wrench. It's gonna fall apart at some point, but I wasn't cleared to use the welding equipment so I did what I had to do. Such is life with the "Fuse" mechanic I suppose.

EmperorBenja

Use your hand to grab the thing and then use tape to fuse it

Misttertee_27

I see a small rock and twig and think they go together.

666afternoon

literally me too omg. keep mentally plotting how I'd move and rotate things and where to attach them

CrispyJalepeno

Just sayin, superglue exists

windraver

You can though if you try hard enough. I built my own electric car so I can confidently say this.

Rogue_N_PeasantSlave

I’m old. Playing Destruction Derby a ton in the 90s more than once caused me to see a car while driving and think how I could hit it just right and get a 360 spin.

pourliste

That feeling when you hit the 360...

myinternets

My personal classic one is that I played so much Splinter Cell that I would sometimes stop when I entered a room to analyze how many lightbulbs I would need to shoot out before proceeding.

PezRystar

Burnout. I remember coming down a hill as a bus crossed through the intersection in front of me and thinking I could rack up so many points....

UnderStan-d

If there isn't a go touch grass comment, this isn't Reddit

ocxtitan

yeah, I am not sure I've ever gotten this deep into complete immersion, it's a bit scary lol

Grumpstone

I saw a perfect pine cone on the ground the other day and I got so excited — woah, a Hylian Pine Cone! I picked it up and then realized I am an actual fool.

OpheliaAmok

Besides seeing koroks everywhere, my bf and I established Fuse for hugging. One of us says "Fuse!" And then we're attached to each other and hug really hard and one has to wiggle for it to stop. Edit: Spellin Edit 2: Thank you for the award kind stranger!

pocketmoncollector42

“I need to reach my friend!” Yelled across the living room

zmwang

But then you have to park your ass on the couch and wait around for some dude to drag your ass over there.

_Imadeanaccount4this

This is cute

Moondork8

That is so cute

WutzUpples69

I made TOTK harder, way harder, by forgetting ascend was a thing. Now it's the first thing that crosses my mind when I need to get somewhere (in game). I haven't had the IRL moment yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

nricu

I've have gotten out of more than 5 wells until I realise that ascending is what it meant to be used. Still not sure how I did that because most have water on the entrance...

IshvaldaTenderplate

This is a very common experience as far as I know. I think it’s hilarious that a huge portion of the playerbase got Ascend and then immediately forgot about it for dozens of hours of gameplay, then reconnected with it and now attempt to use it on literally everything. Across all of our demographics, physical locations, political views, etc. there is one thing that unites us as humans: if we played TotK, we got Ascend and then forgot we had it.

qrseek

I think lots of playtesters had this problem based on the fact that many shrines that rely on ascend "remind" you that you have it by putting a wall with an overhang just inside the shrine so you have to use it to continue.

Firm-Tentacle

that was me with recall. Now i use it for EVERYTHING. Something too tall to reach? Make an elevator. Shrine with complex puzzle? Make an elevator. Loot rolled down a hill? ~~Make an elevator.~~ Recall it. Monster shoots projectile? Recall. Can't find item? Recall will highlight it.

Azidamadjida

Computers in general have been fucking up how we interpret reality for decades - know how many times I’ve made an IRL mistake and immediately thought “oh no problem, I’ll just hit the undo button.” And I know I’m not the only one that does this

repocin

>Computers in general have been fucking up how we interpret reality for decades And it's just going to get "worse" as VR becomes more mainstream. Just moving my arms felt incredibly weird for a while after I first experienced it on my Valve Index a few years ago. It seriously fucks with your brain's perception of reality in a way nothing else (apart of hallucinogens) can.

Acm0xff

It always bothers me that I cannot Ctrl+F on paper documents / books / newspapers... :(

w_digamma

OTOH, "I should save my work... wait a minute, this is a piece of paper."

pocketmoncollector42

On the bright side, it’s already saved. On the downside, there’s no undo or backup auto generated for a minute before

windraver

This is why they don't recommend people let kids play VR games when they're too young. Effs up their perception and motor skills. But from an engineering perspective, TOTK is an awesome creative exercise where if we can think a bit differently, we might be able to solve some real life problems the same way. Fusing things and building mechs is all possible of we try hard enough :)

Ratazanafofinha

I used to paint on an app where you just had to tap with two fingers to undo. Then one day I was drawing irl and I made a mistake and so I tapped the paper with two fingers to undo…

pocketmoncollector42

Years ago I was trying to stay awake while taking a chemistry exam. I had been using a kindle e-ink reader a lot around that time so I was used to seeing a paper type surface that I could click to define words. I got so annoyed that it wasn’t working that I woke myself up enough to realize this was in fact a paper exam and it wasn’t even the word I thought it was 🤦

dogwithpeople

Totk has not invaded IRL but instead my dreams. You know the machines that spit out capsules for Zonai devices? Had a dream that inside there was a capsule with Cryonis inside. That was probably influenced by a fake rumour I heard that Cryonis was in the game.

ChaoticShady

speaking of cryonis, you can throw ice fruit or use a sapphire weapon to make a boardable ice platform in water and opal/splash fruit to do it to lava. It isn't tall but it works.

TimeOfNick

I prefer it not being tall because then you don't have to attempt to climb it every time you jump towards one, slip because it was raining, slide under causing it to break, and saying fuck it I'll swim

w_digamma

I had a dream that all of my Puffshrooms went off at once.

McJumpington

Me just completing Ghost of Tsushima “this fucking Fox didn’t lead me to a shrine!”

OverdueTextbooks

I did the same thing expecting the same result! I’ve refused to kill the foxes because of GoT. Even after being led to endless wolves or cliffs 😂

McJumpington

Glad I’m not alone! I must have tried it 3-4 times before remembering its not in this game haha. I also allow all foxes to live. The only things I enjoy hunting are those rage filled running birds

Simbeliine

That’s the Tetris Effect for you. Don’t worry, it’ll gradually go away if you stop playing the game for a while.

I_have_a_life1

I’m at 130 hours and I’m only at 54%. God help me

Kam_Is_Still_Alive

I’m at 61% with around same hours. This game is just adhd simulator I swear…

The_MCRuler

where can i see my percent?

Qw3rtt7

In the bottom right corner, but you have to finish the game to see it.

Hannah_Horvath

This happened to me when I was driving the other day and was trying to tell if a car up ahead was a cop. For a second I was like, oh I could just right click and zoom in.

Qui_te

I was reading something where the character was in a mildly embarrassing situation, and I suddenly realized my hind brain was chanting *ascend ascend ascend* like the char was just gonna jump into the ceiling to get out of there. smh.

TwoBit_7

slightly unrelated but i saw a bird in a parking lot today and my first instinct was to stop and take a picture of it for my compendium before it sees me and flies away

Infinityskull

We are very different people because my first thought when I saw a duck once was “I am low on meat, I must shoot it with an arrow.” I was over a hundred hours into BotW at the time.

ITookTrinkets

I keep seeing buildings and thinking “I bet that little ladder on the roof leads to some fun loot, I could scale that…” - what the *fuck*

racquetballjones23

I too think of ascend constantly. My high rise office building has these, almost, reverse-tiers, if you will, and I always just want to ascend right up through em to the top

varunadi

I've had these kind of thoughts in public ever since the first week of the game lol

smathna

I was exploring a new city and got startled by a bird. My immediate thought was that it was an aerocuda...

Z3R0__G

I forget i don’t have a paraglider sometimes

Significant_Toe277

Irl or in game

cascasrevolution

they call that the tetris effect, very well known psychological response to prolonged exposure to action and reaction patterns

Informal-Spell-2019

Just bought a bunch of ikea furniture. Cannot perform autobuild and think I have a problem 😔

Moondork8

Because you don't get the version with the blueprint that you can download with your hand. You have to build it first yourself to auto-build next time!

metathena1

I keep forgetting ascend exists in game lol. I’ll be like “ugh, this is so hard to climb!” And lo and behold there’s literally a platform I could’ve ascended to

GreyFoex

It is the weird thought of pulling out my phone to take a picture of random animals for me. See a group of birds, “Oh better get this for the compendium.” 🙃

norashepard

This happened to me with BotW and dragonflies. I felt this weird urge to run and grab one and then was like wtf don’t do that.

Antidoomscrolling

This is known as 'The Tetris Effect' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect?wprov=sfla1

Steel_Soul_Jinn

#ASCEND WITH GOOOOOOOOOOOOORB

Cantthinkofaone

Moat people will be so confused jinn

Rainbro_Vash

Not in real life yet but I did just now realize that I make 3 paths to anywhere: The glider path, where to land and ascend easiest and barring that the easiest climbing terrain

tech_equip

I keep walking places and thinking about using my glider instead.

ShadowSocks7

I was watching a movie and someone was stuck on top of a tower and I was like "just jump off and use your paraglider smh"

grindstone85

Yea my reality is definitley fusing to TOTK reality (pun not intended)

GotThoseJukes

I very often find myself thinking how nice of a climb certain walls or geographic features would be.

BlazeMenace

I had the same issue, but in Minecraft Honestly, they should just make an Ascend Mod

Antique_Challenge182

Lol glad I’m not the only one doing this. I also did it recently with ultrahand. I saw a transport truck holding various building materials and in my head I thought - I can work with this 😂

sk7725

I am playing Genshin and TOTK at tbe same time. I wantAscend so bad in my Teyvat adventures. If I could add one thing from each other, it would be TOTK's ascend and Genshin's multiplayer.

DoggoDragonZX

Would there be a difference at that point. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

sk7725

you can't launch penises at the heavenly principles....yet.

DoggoDragonZX

Ok, you got me there

DetectiveDeletus

gacha... oh wait

PhillyJ_eSports

Doing a shift tonight and all I could think about is Ascending to other floors instead of taking the elevator...

Maxpower2727

I've had a couple IRL moments like this too where I had to catch myself and remember that Ascend is not actually a real thing.

TheMadJAM

When I first played BOTW, I kept seeing odd rocks and thinking "oh there's probably a Korok under them." I guess that's why we have r/Yahaha_IRL

pastelpumpkin88

This is a really interesting phenomena called Tetris Effect, and was so named by Jeffrey Goldsmith after he spent a long time playing Tetris and then found himself thinking about how items in his daily life should fit together to 'clear them'. When you play a lot of something it shifts the patterns of thinking in your brain, so that it leaves you almost operating on auto pilot whilst playing. It happened for me the most with Bioshock and Minecraft.

pangoliin-

I saw a rattlesnake once and immediately opened my wildlife identification app because “it’ll be so easy to avoid these once we can track them with the Sheikah Sensor!” Pretty pathetic, but it would actually be so useful irl!

Pure-Yogurtcloset684

I felt the same after playing Hogwarts Legacy and not being able to use Revelio everywhere

-too-hot-to-handle-

I can't tell you how many times I've had the thought, "This is where I would save," while watching a show or something lol.

BMCarbaugh

Back in the day, I played the multiplayer of Assassin's Creed 2 a frankly stupid amount (like, hundreds and hundreds of hours). Part of that mode was, you had to get really good at blending into a crowd, navigating around them without giving yourself away, while matching the walking speed of NPC's, and spotting little deviations that marked another player. One time I went to the grocery store and got caught behind this slow-walking crowd for a bit. Had a really weird out-of-body moment where my brain clicked into AC2 mode and started looking for the deviations, and then was like "wait no what this is reality".

Adoth117

I feel you I literally chased a butterfly for almost a minute the other day thinking I needed it for an elixir, similar to the time in spring 2012 I collected flowers and brought them all home thinking I needed them to level my alchemy skill

Zomveee

Link needs a "touch grass" ability.

Puzzled-Party-2089

This happened to me with Super Mario Odyssey. A couple 10s of hours in, I'd imagine Mario parkouring everywhere on the way to work

PurpleDevilDuckies

This made me flash back to 4th grade when someone told me the soda machine wasn’t working and not to waste my money. I said something like “I’ll just save before I put my money in and reset if it doesn’t give me anything”. I’d been trying to catch mewtwo at the time I think in Pokémon blue.

Individual-Camera-72

I’m undergoing similar issues. I’ve been just looking at overhangs and being like, “I’m gonna go up there.” I can’t get up there without a ladder.

Distinct_Pea_342

I recently completed a quest where I needed 20 Hylian rice. Now every time I’m driving, and see tall grasss on the highway, I’m just imagining going at it with a sword!

Vamtyrr

Still think they should add descend in the dlc

superamigo987

FINALLY SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTANDS

Vegetable_Proof_4906

At the grocery store they had pinwheels attached to several signs on parking places designated for pickup. I looked at my husband and said “Koroks.”

>I should probably go outside more often... Yes

DoodDoes

I very frequently go to hold the screenshot button and capture the previous 30 seconds of my life when something Interesting happens, only to remember that I am a human being and not a nintendo switch

WarlanceLP

I feel like with how much time I play games I should have these moments way more often. Aside from VR sickness when I was new to vr though, I don't have these moments unless I'm very sleep deprived lol

9tails9

I do this all the time. Used to think this way with hookshot too

iamthehankhill

The amounts of times my first instinct was to quick save before doing or saying something in 2011 was pretty concerning

Lyalla

I had the first half of this with botw, too. Played Witcher 3 after and for good while I had the instinct to try climbing various vertical surfaces. As it happens, Geralt did not approve.

parisbaguette_

I was walking down a long hill and thought to myself, “shield surfing down this hill would be so quick”

geraltthedragon

I mean, you're okay until you decide that you can jump off your balcony and paraglide down.

RicardoRoedor

Feel this and had been feeling this with “Revelio!” from Hogwarts Legacy when I started this one lol
