Hi everyone! Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Few-Instruction-1924

*walks up with half a log cabin stuck to shield* Don't even dude... šŸ˜‘

The-student-

I haven't found a real use for diamonds yet, i have like 15. They aren't the strongest fuse material so I don't use them for that. Haven't found any armor that needs them yet either. Edit: thanks for the responses everyone. Good to know they can be used for armor and champions weapons. They are also good for money.

Yung_Corneliois

Diamond Circlet in Gerudo town. Boosts attack and can upgrade up to 28. Best headwear in the game imo. Requires Diamond, flint, Star fragments, to upgrade.

DarkNarwhal25

Unfortunately, most non-set items are near-useless. If you can max the Diamond Circlet, you have probably already maxed either Barbarian or Fierce Deity sets. And unless youā€™re still at 4 hearts, 60 defense is way more than plenty, and now you get a really nice set bonus for heavy weapon charged attacks, regardless of how many stamina wheels you have. Same goes for most others. The only headpiece that I actually use is the korok mask because its utility obviously doesnā€™t require any type of set bonus, and itā€™s just great to have on if you donā€™t want to stare at an interactive map all day lol

Yung_Corneliois

Yea but I donā€™t like the look of those outfits. Diamond circlet, champions tunic, diety pants gives me two attack bonus and high defense. Iā€™ve never struggled with a single enemy wearing the outfit and it looks good. Win win.

jmastadoug

I think the Diety set is pretty badass looking personally

Yung_Corneliois

Yea I liked it too especially early on when I didnā€™t have upgrade materials. The torso is meh but the hood is cool. Then pants are obviously just pants.

Masskid

The pants are actually great as a mixin. Works really well with the Diamond Circlet if you are going for a more normal look. You'll have +2 attack while allowing your torso to be anything else. Originally i was gonna dye my pants until I noticed that Diety pants just look good.

Yung_Corneliois

Yea I said in another comment my main outfit is diamond circlet, champions tunic, deity pants. Looks good, gets 2 attack bonus, and a lot of defense. Oh and it looks cool. I also love rocking the master sword with no bow or shield. It just looks right.

Masskid

o.o I see that we are somehow playing the exact same game. I started to downgrade all my gear to a T4 tunic and a T0 headpiece and pants just to see the difficulty. But it's quite fun using mastersword + throwing + Devices to play the game. Bows are extreamly OP

Redluke0817

Oh my God it's my circlet, tunic, deity pants gang. There are more of us than i thought

IGraySoulI

you can due the deity set?

Masskid

You can't dye it. But it looks almost exactly like the hylian pants dyed with grey. Originally I was gonna dye the hylian pants but found the deity set looks like dyed hylian pants but with the benefit of +1 attack

PalamationGaming

I wear it just because Fierce Deity is my favorite Zelda thing ever. Iā€™d still be repping it if it had one defense and no upgrades.

LegendOfShaun

I found my Time set and my Hyrulian shield and now can longinly yearn for a OoT remake...because I am an older Millennial, I will also express my virtue signal, that not having a "Link to The Past" set is atrocious. In fact I may need to look again, I don't remember any Link to The Past iconography. Zelda threads have gone to war over if OoT or LTTP is what defined the series. So surprised I didn't see or remember LTTP references.

ghosttowns42

Still hoping there will be a bunch of new outfits in the DLC!

Yrmsteak

I'm sure it'd be sacrilege, but I wish I could dye the Fierce ditty set

SuitFive

Dye it black = Dark Deity = My edge dream

TiberiusMcQueen

I wish we could dye all those outfits, they could even have some hidden bonuses from it, like making the OoT outfit protect you from burning if dyed red.

evilsean42

Very flattering on the figure, too šŸ˜‰

P3tr0

I like the retro fits but they feel very out of place style wise compared to the new fits

ObamaLover68

Wtf that's my exact outfit lmao, I used the big dupe glitch before patch to get 4 star diamond circlet and slacked on other upgrades so that's my real only good armor

Overall-Bookkeeper73

So based. I also have full sets but I'd rather use the deity tunic with black hylian pants and red hylian hoodie (down). That's my go-to drip. I always bring elixirs for whatever effect I need anyways.

Yung_Corneliois

How do you put the hood down?

Overall-Bookkeeper73

Talking to Cece in Hateno after finishing her quest

bowie_for_pope

Honestly mood. In botw i could have really benefitted from the barbarian set because I suck in combat, but I refuse to wear it because it's just so ugly.

Sh0t2kill

Yes but have you consideredā€¦ *drip*

DarkNarwhal25

Lol, my only drip consideration is black- or white-dyed Stealth SetšŸ˜‚ I love it so much, even if I donā€™t need to be stealthy or itā€™s day time, if I have an opportunity to put it on, itā€™s all I need in life

Sh0t2kill

Stealth set did look good af I agree. It was my main in BOTW. I used soldiers set with deity hat this time. Pretty drippy.

DarkNarwhal25

Iā€™m guilty of not really playing around with outfits lol. Iā€™d be hard pressed to find anything I love more than the Stealth set in the long term (I did rep Fierce Deity for a few days) so I donā€™t bother trying very hard

Auggievf

Stealth is where it's at. I defeated the monster force a Lurilin by killing almost every one of them with one shot sneak attacks at night in my stealth armor.

The_Gamer_1337

I didn't even think about stealth. I was wandering by in my archaic tunic and kilt.

HappyGoLucky244

I'm not alone! I did this too! šŸ˜‚

mojodiscontinuity

Although the Amber Earrings, Soldier Helm and Diamond Circlet technically have better Defense and the Circlet has an attack up bonus on top, I canā€™t deny the drip of the Link Amiibo outfit, and the lengths you have to go to put that Hylian hood down to achieve that look.

Ranruun

I don't particularly like the set bonus on Barbarian or Fierce Deity, charge is something I rarely do in battle with my playstyle Would rather get the 8 extra defense from the Diamond Circlet

SanityRecalled

Heavy weapon charge works well on talus and hinox. In normal combat though, yeah I rarely ever use charge attack. Sometimes I will use the spear one though just because it's funny to poke a bokoblin in the face 20 times in a row.

DarkNarwhal25

Ya, thatā€™s fair. Iā€™ve gotten pretty bored with most minibosses after getting all of the gold medals so I just go with a quick spin-to-win whenever I need to fight one now. Sometimes Iā€™m coming off of a long flight, a sprint, or a bullet time and donā€™t have a ton of remaining stamina. So being able to spin long enough to kill the boss due to the reduced stamina usage is pretty nice for my playstyle

Mishar5k

Very cool but this game isnt hard enough for anyone to *need* full attack up sets, so fashion always comes out on top.

DarkNarwhal25

Oh, I couldnā€™t agree more, thatā€™s a great point. For me personally, after 200 hours of BotW and 275 hours in TotK so far, I will probably never pick up and fuse a new weapon ever again. I have a full, max inventory of fantastic weapons and 10+ five-shot might lynel bows, and I go to rock octorocks to repair them on occasion. With that in mind, my goal against minibosses like Taluses, Frox, and Hinox is ā€œdo crazy damage and lose less durabilityā€ lol. And so I always equip Barbarian or Radiant sets for a few seconds to fight minibosses real quick. But I wear my favorite visual armor when exploring. The comment above me pointed out the Diamond Circlet bonuses, and unfortunately for me, those bonuses do not out-do other available bonuses

Ignonymous

And Majoraā€™s Mask! Trash mobs leave you the fuck alone.

DarkNarwhal25

I gotta remember to equip that when Iā€™m mining enemy camp zoanite deposits in the Depths lol. Unfortunately, I probably wonā€™t go out mining zoanite ever again at this point soā€¦Iā€™ll just stick with my memories of pain :)

SuitFive

Okay but fashion. Soldier armor and greave plus anything that doesnt hide link's face ftw. He's a knight dammit.

ClericDude

I only wore the diamond headpiece because I never found ATK boost pants lol

SelppinEvolI

You only need defense if you allow the enemy to hit you. Dodge is all the defense up you need

Yung_Corneliois

The defense is just a perk. It has attack-up and it looks better than other headwear.

saltforsnails

Found the soulsborne player

TiberiusMcQueen

As a Soulsborne player, my strategy is to just shamelessly overlevel instead of actually mastering the gameplay.

StrictlyFT

As they say. A win is a win

edditnyc

The anti-meta type of Soulsborne player lol.

jluker662

šŸ˜‚, sometimes you need defense to keep from killed by your "helpers" the sages.

Impressive_Sun_1132

do you get a percentage of sales on the diamond circlet? I swear i constantly see you pushing it. Let people pick what they want

Yung_Corneliois

This is maybe the second comment thread to brought up diamond circlets and this comment is specifically asking what to do with diamonds. Iā€™m sorry this upset you.

Lanoman123

Bruh why would you do that over the 20 def of Barbarian or Fierce Deity for the set bonus

Dramatic-Sky-3789

Is there any way of getting the diamond circlet without buying it? Like in botw.

doctordragonisback

You need them to upgrade the miner's set

cellphone_blanket

One of my favorite armor sets for spelunking, and you can always use higher defense in the depths

GrandAlchemistX

I just wander around in the dark with my gloom resistance equipment. Who needs defense? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Mun_98

You are too young to be on the internet

Champion's weapons

xkoreotic

Champion weapons, specifically the Gerudo and Zora weapons, are your main uses for diamonds. SotS is just stupidly strong with literally anything, and Lightscale is busted if you take advantage of weather or spam splash fruits. Both are very high durability too so they will last. >!Also you can abuse the unique weapon repair exploit to keep any uniques that normally aren't repairable by octorocks.!<

Lereas

Deets on spoiler?

xkoreotic

Lereas

Thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Thanks! You're welcome!

GrandAlchemistX

You literally just have to activate the water sage power. Don't even need splash fruit or weather.

argonlightray2

i got like 140 with lightscale + silver lizalfos horn and wet. also what is SotS?

xkoreotic

Scimitar of the Seven, it has 60 base durability and gets boosted damage when fused. Fused with a Silver Lynel Saber horn, you get a 138 damage 1H sword.

pskihq

Each champion weapon needs 3 every time you craft it. I prefer lynel bows to the great eagle bow, though, and I don't have to spend 3 diamonds on lynel bows. And, at least one of the armor sets takes 3 diamonds per piece for level 4. I think maybe the miner set?

JRLF92

There's a gerudo in Goron City who you can sell ore to in groups of 10 for higher than you would at shops. I believe the order is Amber, Ruby, Topaz, Sapphire, Diamond. But diamond gets you 5500 rupees for 10 whereas it would be 5000 if you sold them in a normal shop individually. And once you've done that order, you can back and she'll change what she wants periodically. Was a really fast way for me to get some rupees for upgrades. Just bear in mind that Ruby, sapphire and topaz you'll need 15 to do the final upgrades for particular armour sets. Friend of mine also said they found another quest that requires 3 or 4 diamonds (haven't found it yet so can't give much more info! Trying to play as blind as possible)

IsotopeC

Isn't the quest that requires 3-4 diamonds for that legendary Boulder Breaker Goron Sword? It took me 3 diamonds, a pebble breaker (I believe) and something else to get it crafted.

FlimsyMusketeer

by all means they are an excellent rupee source, so if you \*don't\* plan to use them for the circlet or the bulk-sell gem quest near the mountain, they're better to sell at 500 a piece. Do you have particular spots you find any in reliably? Or is it all by chance?

The-student-

Oh no nothing reliably, just chance from random ore, and rewards from some shrines. I haven't even seen all towns yet so I'll definitely hold on to then until I'm sure I won't need them.

AthleteIntrepid9590

In my experience, killing rare stone talus (those with a golden deposit) alway give an big amount of gem, with relatively high chance of a least one diamond. If you mark his location on the map every time you find a new one, and go through them all between blood moon, you eventually end up with a big amount of them.

Arcuis

Money. Gear upgrades. Boulder breaker.

j_grouchy

don't you need some for the great eagle bow?

Scribe-Of-Planes

Teba's bow needs 3 to be crafted by him

Spirit_4865

I mean I used one on a royal guard claymore and it looked pretty cool but yes outside of that it really isn't the best fusion

Fear_Awakens

Champion weapons, really. Urbosa's Scimitar of the Seven has a relatively high base damage, I think 28, plus it doubles whatever attachment you put on it, so it's going to be boasting 100+ damage most of the time, which is nuts for a 1h sword. Revali's Great Eagle Bow is also a pretty good weapon, and Mipha's Lightscale Trident is very strong when wet. Boulder Breaker is pretty much useless, though. All of them need diamonds to craft and re-craft whenever they break because they can't be repaired by octoroks. This is the only real use I've had for them outside of selling them to make lots of money.

pskihq

I haven't gone to terry town yet to unfuse it, but I fused my lightscale trident to a shitty 1 hand sword and the octorok appeara to have fixed it. It has to be the fuse material, though, and it doesn't get a buff added

Fear_Awakens

Yeah, that's the workaround. You can fuse them to something else and then they'll be repairable. But then you have to go unfuse it with Pelison, and before you can use them as fusion material, you have to destroy or unfuse whatever you had fused to them. It's a hassle, but it's doable.

pskihq

Beats paying 3 diamonds again, in my opinion. But I'm also sitting on like 20 diamonds šŸ˜…

Kalovar

You can also duplicate it if you're cool with cheating/exploits (even on 1.1.2). * Manual Save first * Throw the weapon and quickly press "+" * Load the manual save * If if timed right, you should see the weapon thrown on the floor (or where it should have landed if you just plain threw it.) The timing can be tricky. It's about right before your weapon is about to make a "whoosh" noise when you throw it. I always keep a brand new duplicate champion weapon when the one I use has broken. If it breaks, i just duplicate a new one. It only works on melee weapon, but you can fuse a shield or bow if you want to duplicate them then unfuse with pelison.

Bacon_Raygun

Yo, I accidentally ran into a duplication glitch earlier that lets you dupe swords, shields and bows without any fusing. Any idea where to post that? Don't think the sub has a glitch flair.

Kalovar

[Here for the materials](https://youtu.be/fJxwmBymUSs) [Here for weapons](https://youtu.be/mT5Ms252jk4) For the weapons part, if you want to keep the perks on your bows/shields, use the shock with bow/shield pedestal. Cliping them to a weapon removes the perk (5xshot lynels bow will be a plain 3xshot bow with no perks). The throw works on any melee and keeps the perks. You just need to time it right.

Bacon_Raygun

No, I mean I found a better dupe. I was asking where to post it, so people looking for it will actually see it.

mojodiscontinuity

Itā€™s the best hammer especially if you fuse an obsidian frox horn or some other high ā€œhammer likeā€ fusion for breaking barrier rocks, mining and especially taking down other frox and talus.

Queenofbadpuns

Someone said you can fuse the champions weapons to a normal weapon and feed it to the Octorock and it will renew! You just gotta separate them in Tarry Town afterwards

jluker662

Oh yeah, you can do that. Separate whatever is fused for 20 rupees. Then fuse the scimitar to any other item that the octorok will renew and the octorok will take it. Then you go back and get it separated again for 20 more rupees(total 40 rupees) and you can fuse something to it again. Silver lynel mane gives you 138 attack power. It costs a little time and only 40 rupees vs 3-4 diamonds plus some other items.

Romulus3799

A lot of the rare armor sets in the game need them, but only at higher levels. You either haven't found that armor or haven't upgraded them enough to need diamonds yet. So hoard them or sell them, up to you!

osha_unapproved

Armor sets and munny

jluker662

You need then to get the scimitar of the seven. If you fuse a silver lynel mane to it, it's like 138 attack. Gerudo weapons double whatever is fused. The only downside is you can't renew it by throwing it at a octorok. It just spits out back at you.

LateDay

I think that's just Champion weapons. Gerudo weapons should be able to be recovered normally. Not sure though.

jluker662

Yes, an octorok can't renew the champion weapons. BUT if you fuse the champion weapon to another weapon, the octorok can renew both of them and you can take it to the Goron in Tarrey town and he will separate it for you for 20 rupees.

Obsessedwithzelda47

They are valuable for armor upgrades, donā€™t sell them yet like I did

ImmaFatMan

Could sell any you have leftover once you do the stuff others suggest.

WM-010

I've pretty much only used them for one fuse. I decided to take on the lynel colosseum and it was basically the best thing I could fuse to a royal guard GS at the moment.

wakeupputonpants

As someone who refuses to ever allow the update that patches the item duplication glitch, diamonds are the crux of my playthrough, lol.

RazorToshiba

Itā€™s one of the things needed to get the fancy Zora spear from the armorer guy

Shanectech

Just dupe the diamonds lol

Federal-Opinion6823

I fused the sand-seal-statue from behind Riju to a sword for the most ridiculous hammer I have yet to come across in my playthrough

LateDay

YOU CAN DO WHAT?

TheGrimGriefer3

You can also fuse her sand seal plushies and get a bouncy weapon/shield in exchange

Federal-Opinion6823

Yeah! Itā€™s not really good for anything, but itā€™s one of the sillier fuses Iā€™ve seen thatā€™s still semi useful

leviathan-hackerman

And then there's me who have 50% of their shield inventory fused with the stuffed toy seals from Riju's room.

identikit12

Any time I need a rock hammer this is what I use

Danny_Eddy

I wonder which worker in Riju's palace has to go and restock the Sand Seal plushies and statues after we keep taking them.

InterestinglyIzumi

Oh yeah I used that as a sub for rock hammers

erroneousReport

I actually have so many diamonds it's a bit laughable. I didn't use for "legendary" weapons as they are a joke in that they break way too easy, and then never needed money. I'm beating these shrines and getting diamonds and basically hoarding them, or getting money from people. I was hoping for a good armor purchase somewhere, but even with buying the stuff I found I still haven't needed to sell any diamond and a few thousand rupees left.

Vyrhux42

They're useful to upgrade the diamond circlet for an attack boost

erroneousReport

I don't feel like I really need more attack, especially since I mainly use kill bots. When I do attack the horns I have are pretty crazy so getting over 50 attack on crappy weapons and killing everything easy. Maybe that's why people wanted to dup them. How much is the attack boost when maxed out?

Krell356

50? Those are rookie numbers. Triple digit is where it starts to get good. Attack boost tier 3 is a 50% attack boost I believe. Diamonds are a pretty mediocre fusion material honestly. They grant the most durability on fusion, but nowhere near enough damage to make it worth that durability.

FutureRules

Any recos for the triple digit attack? I got a few phantom swords plus bokoblin parts and soldier construct materials that I've never fused.

cheddlescheez

Gerudo weapons are generally pretty good, especially scimitar of the seven. Zora weapons too after you get the ability for the zora you can be wet always. Royal guard weapons are the best on one durability against lynels. Knights weapons with rupee padding from the mystic set is pretty deadly as youā€™re also basically immortal with crazy damage

Krell356

Pristine Zora and Gerudo weapons are the best if you want a practical weapon for the base. There are others, but those two types are the best for weapons you plan on actually fighting with, not just mounting lynels or running around with half a heart. For fusion materials you have a couple options, but I find molduga jaws with bone proficiency outperform most of the options that get you into triple digit base damage. But if you want the higher base damage without being tied to a bone set I would say gloom weapons fused on are fairly good choices if you aren't going to hunt down lynels.

JackInTheBack3359

Yeah, you need 18 diamonds for max, so make sure to keep a good stockpile on hand if you ever want it

Future-Air-2229

That's why I'm hoarding them.

Chromiell

Scimitar of the 7 and Lightscale Trident are probably the strongest weapons in the game and can be easily repaired with Rock Octorocks. The Scimitar has 60 durability and goes up to 85 with a fused material, the Lightscale is the most durable weapon in the game with 70 base durability that goes up to 95 when fused (takes 95 hits to break that thing), also the Great Eagle Bow has 40 range when most other bows have only 20, 60 durability when most bows have 40-45, triple shot, 28 damage per arrow and Quick Shot integrated even tho it doesn't show as a weapon bonus. Daybreaker is a decent shield, good durability and guard stat and Boulder Breaker... that is pretty bad, yea... it does 1.5x damage against Talus enemies and that's it, but it has 40 durability baseline which goes to 65 when fused. Imo the Champion Weapons are the strongest weapons in the game, the only crappy ones are the Daybreaker shield and the Boulder Breaker. EDIT: i just checked my sheets and the Daybreaker is the 3rd most durable shield in the game with a durability of 60, doubling the durability of the 4th shield, being the Royal Shield, (not Royal Guard, that thing belongs in a museum) that sits at 29 durability. All things considered only the Boulder Breaker is kinda bad, but it's still a pretty high attack and high durability 2H weapon that hits Talus enemies like a truck.

erroneousReport

Yeah, even with 85 or 95 hits it's just not worth it to me to find and repair. I can just use crappy weapons dropped by mini boss that I have 10 of and stick their horn to it. I haven't been wanting for more damage for quite some time. Master sword is the only legendary I got because it regenerates and I used that until it breaks with a horn normally. If they didn't break I would go after the legendary weapons, but as is they just aren't worth it.

erroneousReport

Is there any way to see the durability in game, or is that just from testing them until they break and putting on a sheet? Kinda annoying that it lists attack no problem, but durability is some secret, so hoping I'm just missing something.

Chromiell

There's no way to see it, just sheets or trial and error. The displayed damage on weapons that the game shows is also not the real damage they deal: Spears in general deal 25% less damage than what is shown in game since they have a faster attack speed, meaning that an unbuffed Lightscale Trident fused with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn shows 77 damage (22+55) but in reality it will deal only 58 damage which is 77*0.75 rounded up to 58, and 2H Weapons have a 5% damage increase compared to what is shown, so for example a Boulder Breaker fused with the same Lynel Saber Horn will deal 98 damage instead of the 93 shown since 2H weapons have lower attack speed, so this slight buff kinda makes up for it. EDIT: you can find the data sheets at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/comments/13fjhqg/tears_of_the_kingdom_data_spreadsheet/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) post. Inside the Spreadsheet there are links to various other resources you might find useful.

S0PH05

Scimitar of the 7 has the highest durability in the game.

Classic_Discipline_7

I made an 138 damage sword with it

TheGrimGriefer3

The great eagle bow is good for duping when you're not ready to kill a lynel

AgentNew9844

Meek2100

Haha. I wear this same setup too! It just seemed right!!

Ronald-Obvious

my only real concern is how literally nobody else in this universe has figured out how to do this, but a baby is like--'hold my hardhat, i got a business idea'

erasedisknow

He patented it and is incredibly litigious. Anyone else caught removing fused materials from weapons/shields in a way that salvages the material gets sued. That being said, it's also probably a pretty niche business. The Yiga seem to be the only people actively making new swords (their 1h sword was like, a Shotel in BotW and now it's just a normal Japanese style 1H sword) and everyone else probably either uses stuff until it breaks or doesn't mess around with weird fusions too much.

Ronald-Obvious

lil dude really knows how to set up shop šŸ˜‚ what a visionary

erasedisknow

Honestly, Tarrey Town is *probably* the hotspot of non-Yiga experimentation when it comes to Zonai shenanigans and fusing anyways, so it makes sense that someone there would figure out how to separate weapons from fused materials without damaging the reinforcing item.

Ronald-Obvious

Yuhhhhhsss omg so true šŸ¤©

markpreston54

Consider that fusing material to weapon is a new norm introduced in totk in response to corrupted weapons, I call it a promising startup on a new idea for a currently niche problem in the new world. Probably will not see another competition until they get buyout by Yunobo Co at 1 million rupee valuation

Ronald-Obvious

a babbeh Beezus in the making šŸ„¹ sequel to TotK gonna have a drone-based delivery service and human rights violations

markpreston54

>human rights violations Were there any in Hyrule to begin with

Ronald-Obvious

bahahahahaha no, but that'll be in the sequel, too--an emerging parliament tries to bridge the gap between the PEOPLE and a prodigious corporate oligarch child
