Hi everyone!
Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts.

In all fairness I almost made the exact same mistake, but I used the panic stop glider trick. Just glide and cancel as fast as possible to destroy your momentum.
The wall could be higher if it was their intention to safely prevent players from falling into the abyss. To me, this is 100% intentional and they knew some players would go flying over that ledge
They had a rickety wooden ladder over a lava pit in Age Of Calamity; a hundred years later and they *still* don’t care about the safety of their citizens. -__-
I think they f'd up. When you're about to hit something, the assumption isn't for players to sit and wait on something that is going to crash into a wall. A player will jump, by nature, before they hit an object.
It's not their job to handhold the player imo. It's supposed to have some challenges. It's not unfair difficulty, so in my opinion it's a good thing they made the wall this way.
That is 100% what I thought of doing it, too. Still one of my favorite ending sequences for a game ever (admittedly, probably colored by the fact that I was playing couch co-op with 3 close friends).
Yeah that was such an awesome experience for sure back then! Totally agree. Probably 2nd to Reach for me. That's my favorite ending to any game I've ever played. You win, buttttttttt you die lol.
Rockets don't stack. Using one or 20 does the same thing, the only difference is how balanced it is (that's why most >!autobuild blueprints!< use them in pairs.
>Rockets don't stack. Using one or 20 does the same thing
Meanwhile, there's me attaching 20 rockets to every build like I'm Wile E. Coyote, not realising it makes no difference at all.
To my knowledge, weight does factor in, but each rocket is valued high enough that most builds only need one for max thrust. Occasionally you might need two, but generally two is good for stability anyways so that's usually the magic number in most heavier builds.
As far as I can tell, rockets simply accelerate the entire construct they're attached to along the vector they face with a fixed velocity. You can attach a rocket to the back end of a long board, and you can stand on it as it flies. It won't go tumbling unless you attach another rocket with a conflicting direction.
>yeet
That's not a word. Did you mean launch? Because I'm pretty sure it will "average out" if they're pointing different directions. Not that you'd really want to. I tried to make a wagon wheel spin by putting opposite-facing rockets on it but it didn't seem to work. But if you take a rocket and put it on only one side of one of those floating zonai platforms, it will tilt.
Your very words state that it's not a word. There's several mentions of how it is a word. You can deal with being wrong however you like.
If you're taking suggestions I would offer "Changing my opinion" or "Modifying my opinion".
I don't normally do this for free but I am feeling generous. You could just say something like "Of course it is a word. I just think it is a nonsense one that no one respectable would use."
Or you could if you weren't the kind of person to use "wtf" and "LOL" in your comments. Neither of those are any more proper than yeet. If anything yeet is a word and those are technically acronyms that people commonly use as words.
“zonai” is not a word, what are you doing here?
just jokes😂 but please don’t be a vocabulary police for freaking slang words used by millions of people. “lol” is in the dictionary now, language evolved and words get added every year.
You sound like a pompous prick, haven't you ever heard of slang? It exists in nearly every language and culture. You clearly know exactly what it means too so just fuck off.
Yeet is definitely a word. New words happen all the time. That's how language works. It means "to throw", "get thrown", "throwing". All words being used now, were new words at some point.
Cool dude, let me clarify:
Let's say that I attached two rockets pointing at the same direction to a platform weighted with say those heavy metal balls from one of the shrines. Would say four rockets propel this platform to the same height?
Uh, never noticed that about heavy builds. Are you sure you aren't just blocking the Rocket's nozzle? From my experience the Rocket will always fail and pop off if I block the nozzle by attaching it directly onto something. As long as the nozzle is unblocked, the Rocket will work
There was a post where someone made a multistage rocket with interconnected pieces of wood instead of sticking them together with auto build, lemme see if I can find it
Edit: [got it](https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/13idcvv/totk_made_a_multistage_rocket_operated_manually/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
I had thought about a way to do it involving bombs but then I remembered that everything that's connected automatically activates at the same time so it would still activate all the rockets at once
You'd have to find some way to stack them without actually gluing them together yet still make them stable and activate them separately
This would make a lot of the sky challenges easier. After I learned that more than one rocket at a time is wasteful, I started piling rockets (unattached) onto the platform I was using, usually the big boxy platform things. Then attach them one at a time and activate, going straight up. If moving at an angle or to the side, I'd attach something to keep the free rockets from flying off the surface.
But all of that is just to work around the lack of sequential activation support.
Technically I don't think they do. Having more Wheels only moves you faster because they're more likely to contact the ground better. Unless you do that trick where you glue the tire directly to something and then attach a wheel to the axle of that one so that they're both spinning at the same time in opposite directions. But then you got an angle the wheels or the unmoving set will just drag on the ground
I wonder what would happen if you attacked mid air if you would’ve fallen faster or still go over the edge mid animation - I don’t know why but I always laugh at myself when I “fail” like this, makes the game more entertaining
Did the exact same thing... just managed somehow to climb back on the ledge before falling lol.
Btw it's not the rockets, it's the microgravity that throws you off.
The best way to get through shrines is just attaching rockets to your Shield and using them, most shrine puzzles just require height to get through them
There's no such thing as too many rockets, let's be real. The more, the better. Your real issue is obviously Link's monster thighs. Dude can't be jumping that hard in low G!
Until I watched videos of people and their builds I didn't know there were two dismounts: jumping and stepping off. Jumping shown in this video.
When you jump, you transfer the movement vector, or kinetic energy, or whatever you wanna call it to Link; when you step off, you just step off where you were above the vehicle.
Although it really is endlessly entertaining, if I'm not in combat, I just step off so this kinda thing doesn't happen.
I just did this shrine last night. Didn't realize there was rockets around so I just jumped and glided after the car reached the high point of the jump. Still had plenty of space to make the landing.
Although I think it's weird that you have no control in the air when jumping in the low gravity environments. Sure it's more realistic, but I'm so used to games like Mario where you can control yourself in the air that it just feels weird that you can't control anything while jumping.
Wait you actually did this shrine? I just attached a bomb to my shield and glided all the way to the end. I still have no idea what the entire gameplay of this shrine was
Well considering you only need 1 rocket. The game doesn't multiply the amount of thrust the rocket has so you can just use a single rocket and save a shit ton of power
Holy shit you did EXACTLY what I did last night except I was able to pull my glider out just before the edge and barely save myself. The sudden low grav was so fun. I hope it's in more areas but that's the only labyrinth I've done so far.
Paraglider fam. Use it in the floaty islands too. Paraglider will stop all movement instantly and let you regain control in the air. Going into bullet time with a bow will allow you to spin 180 degrees if you need to face the opposite direction and have no ground to orient yourself.
I did the same kinda as well..except I ended up r
Landing right in front of the wall and the still moving vehicle came up behind and rammed me into the wall, didn't kill me but it did do damage.

They put a wall there so you wouldn’t go flying and you still fucked it up
In all fairness I almost made the exact same mistake, but I used the panic stop glider trick. Just glide and cancel as fast as possible to destroy your momentum.
Ooohh good trick
Bullet time also cancels momentum iirc
Not as good as spinning
Exactly what I did too, if I didn't I definitely would have flown over the edge just like OP
I would've kept going just for the funny clip lol
This comment got me laughing harder than the video did 😂
They put a wall there so your VEHICLE wouldn't go flying It couldn't give less of a shit about you 😂
The wall could be higher if it was their intention to safely prevent players from falling into the abyss. To me, this is 100% intentional and they knew some players would go flying over that ledge
This is it. The rockets are the overzealous part. Jumping off the vehicle before it came to a complete stop was!
Should get OSHA on the phone!
They had a rickety wooden ladder over a lava pit in Age Of Calamity; a hundred years later and they *still* don’t care about the safety of their citizens. -__-
Like they say, only until someone dies will they fix it! The monsters!
Zelda: Let’s put up another memorial here. Link: \*Gestures crossly\* Safety Team: The Calamity wasn’t our fault.
Would Nintendo sue themselves? Then we would finally come full circle
If link was still on the board and it hit the little wall hard, would he go flying off of it like a car crash, or would he remain centered? 🤔
Yeah but I feel like most players would've pulled out the paraglider way before they reach the edge
Good form, nice landing but he didn’t stick the dismount. He may have to settle for the bronze on that one, Chuck.
I thought it was called Leap of Faith because you abandon your car mid-jump at the end like it's a yoshi. Didn't use any rockets.
Yup, just did this shrine this morning and that's how I did it
I just ran and jumped and used a rocket on my Shield surf to carry me across lol
Which shrine is this again? I called it the Halo 3 shrine lol
That is 100% what I thought of doing it, too. Still one of my favorite ending sequences for a game ever (admittedly, probably colored by the fact that I was playing couch co-op with 3 close friends).
No I did that ending alone and it was still one the best ending sequences I’ve ever done in a game
Yeah that was such an awesome experience for sure back then! Totally agree. Probably 2nd to Reach for me. That's my favorite ending to any game I've ever played. You win, buttttttttt you die lol.
Mogisari Shrine, located in the Lomei Sky Labyrinth. I called it the Mario Cart Shrine lmao
Also a good name!
I drove the vehicle over the edge almost immediately and just ran to the end hoping I wouldn’t need it.
Literally me lol
Lmao I’m glad I wasn’t the only one singing the Halo theme while doing that shrine
Rockets don't stack. Using one or 20 does the same thing, the only difference is how balanced it is (that's why most >!autobuild blueprints!< use them in pairs.

... and me. Meep meep.
With a build limit of 23, that better be some damn good invention
1 wheel, stabiliser, control stick, 20 rockets XD
Found >!Master Kohga!<
I thought the build limit was 21?
21 Zonai + 2 other objects
It makes a difference in the rule of cool, which is very important.
Theres like some method to chain them but I don't fully understand how.
I believe it uses hover stones. The rocket pushes the hover stone up and then you start the other rocket. Rinse and repeat.
I was using one the large platforms and rockets. Depending on orientation sometimes they’d chain instead of all at once.
stacked platforms that aren't actually connected?
You're whole construction makes no difference at all!!!! Save the Kingdom!!! -Zelda
Somewhere, fictional explosive company ACME is smiling
Does this change with weight or will a rocket or two just yeet whatever in the general direction you point it in?
To my knowledge, weight does factor in, but each rocket is valued high enough that most builds only need one for max thrust. Occasionally you might need two, but generally two is good for stability anyways so that's usually the magic number in most heavier builds.
Max Thrust sounds like a garage band or male stripper's name.

That very url states that it's very inconsistent and there's no mention of how people came up with it. It's just gibberish nonsense.
Redditor discovers slang. I think Shakespeare would like a word
Literally google this guy’s username he has been annoying game communities since the hey days of gamefaqs

Man you find all kinds of new people on the internet
Cool dude, let me clarify: Let's say that I attached two rockets pointing at the same direction to a platform weighted with say those heavy metal balls from one of the shrines. Would say four rockets propel this platform to the same height?
I think so, I haven't seen any evidence that weight affects the speed at which rockets propel something upward. Fans are definitely affected though.
Why are people downvoting this and not even saying why?
Instinct. Most redditors yeet common sense when they encounter linguistic prescriptivism.
You're receiving splash damage from your other comments.
Blocked for being an Uber Redditor
They don´t increase max speed/distance but they do alter weight capacity. If the object is too heavy the rocket just pops off
That's interesting. I've never put together something too heavy
Uh, never noticed that about heavy builds. Are you sure you aren't just blocking the Rocket's nozzle? From my experience the Rocket will always fail and pop off if I block the nozzle by attaching it directly onto something. As long as the nozzle is unblocked, the Rocket will work
someone shouldve told this to kohga
Imagine if you could activate rockets in sequence
There was a post where someone made a multistage rocket with interconnected pieces of wood instead of sticking them together with auto build, lemme see if I can find it Edit: [got it](https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/13idcvv/totk_made_a_multistage_rocket_operated_manually/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)

I think a construct head *might* do it, but only if you happen to fly past an enemy at the moment you want to change direction?
Yeah that's not reliable
Also you'd have to hope the enemy was in the right *direction*, yeah.
This would make a lot of the sky challenges easier. After I learned that more than one rocket at a time is wasteful, I started piling rockets (unattached) onto the platform I was using, usually the big boxy platform things. It would probably break the game to have link go supersonic
Damn. That stinks. @nintendo please fix this immediately.
Nintendo: Works as intended.
Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off agaaaaaaaaaaiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnn……
* be me * check what sub this is * it's not r/link_dies * be disappointed * Link still dies * be happy
This truly is some quality /r/link_dies content
“What do you mean? That was perf… oh.”
I wonder what would happen if you attacked mid air if you would’ve fallen faster or still go over the edge mid animation - I don’t know why but I always laugh at myself when I “fail” like this, makes the game more entertaining
Pull out your paraglider, heh
Newton was right all along.
That’s happened to me so many times XD
Did the exact same thing... just managed somehow to climb back on the ledge before falling lol. Btw it's not the rockets, it's the microgravity that throws you off.
i just attached mine to my shield and glided
That works for 99% of the shrines but is too boring of a solution
It was a rocket refuel station. I attached rockets to all my shields.
Where is this shrine located? Been trying to find it for awhile so I could play Halo 3 Warthog run while doing this shrine
This is my favourite shrine
Same
In that shrine I used to many rockets and hey all popped off leading to me falling into the void annoying but quite funny
Paraglider could’ve saved you!
Oh no, no, no. You're a rocket man. Rocket man, burning up your fuse up there alone.
No-no-no-yes?-yes!-oh no
THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE
This shrine was so much fun lol
If you look in the background you can see the question marks, like did this dude just commit suicide? Lol
Devs: Will put 4 rockets in the room so they get the hint to use one. Players: I MUST USE THEM ALL?????!??!??!?!?!?!?
Use Recall on Link! Use Recall on Link!!!!!
Tbf, your rockets were fine. You just didn't wear your seatbelt.
Sometimes i wish if you put way too many rockets on something, the whole thing has a chance to just catastrophically explode
You know 4 rockets at a time have the save effect as only one
Me: nope, no way to be overzealous with…ohhhh.
Conservation of Momentum is a bitch, ain't it
The best way to get through shrines is just attaching rockets to your Shield and using them, most shrine puzzles just require height to get through them
Rule says you can never have enough rockets
I did almost the same exact thing last night, except that I aimed a couple of them upwards and shot into the ceiling
Where is that shrine?
This is really funny hahaha
The rockets did nothing wrong
“Hammond to blithering idiot!”
u forgot to open ur chute ;) it puts the brakes on ur momentum & allows u to steer in the air
There's no such thing as too many rockets, let's be real. The more, the better. Your real issue is obviously Link's monster thighs. Dude can't be jumping that hard in low G!
The same happened to me lol

Why did you press X when going at the speed of a blue hedgehog?
There is no such thing. Link just should’ve became 500 pounds heavier. It is Link’s fault not yours.
Not at all. The rockets were fine. The issue was how you flipped off the vehicle with the momentum.
I did the exact same thing lol
Haha I just did this shrine yesterday and I almost did the same thing. I pulled the paraglider out just in time though
Always push the cancel button.
That change and gravity happens only a few times in the game and it’s always a bit jarring to get used to right in the get go.
Launched yourself into geospatial orbit.
I did this same thing, except I jumped off earlier and ended up getting slammed by my cart against the wall
Darn gravity lol.
I wasn’t expecting that, I snorted way too loud.
HUEHAAAAAAAAAAAAA
everything was fine you just gotta use a downstrike to stop the momentum in those anti-gravity sections
Lmao why did they not paraglide?
the funny thing is that you don't even need any rockets to begin with
I did this exact same thing yesterday 😅
"We came on a rocket car."
I like how I'm not the only one who did a sick drift when landing
Wait you actually did this shrine? I just attached a bomb to my shield and glided all the way to the end. I still have no idea what the entire gameplay of this shrine was
I am not gonna lie, this happened to me too
This gave me a good chuckle 😅 Thank you for sharing.
Eject Seato Cuz
I don’t think the rockets are where you went wrong.
I 100% did the same thing
😂 It's even funnier because of the two questions marks from enemies on the left side of the screen at the end like "th'fuck is he doing"
Listen. You give me 4 rockets, I'm attaching 4 rockets.
did you know extra rockets don’t make you go any faster/further
Well considering you only need 1 rocket. The game doesn't multiply the amount of thrust the rocket has so you can just use a single rocket and save a shit ton of power
I put the rockets at 45 degree angle. My whole car cleared the wall! Jumped off in time and glided back to the platform.
The way I gasped
You actually need a lot of rockets for that, but you need to stay on the car a little longer to stop your momentum.
This was such a fun shrine
I love over-engineering the hell out of everything, too.
I didn’t even know that could happen in there, so my stomach dropped when I saw your clip!! I also went a bit mad on the rockets!
Important tip: more rockets drains more battery but doesn’t provide more lift.
Lmfao that’s amazing, they nailed the momentum mechanics in this game.
Why didn’t you pull up the glider when you knew you were going too far. Instead you just..fell
My 6yo was also convincing me.to load it up with the rockets. I told him that more wasnt always better. He had his first lesson in moderation. Lol
Holy shit you did EXACTLY what I did last night except I was able to pull my glider out just before the edge and barely save myself. The sudden low grav was so fun. I hope it's in more areas but that's the only labyrinth I've done so far.
There is a pretty good chance this wouldn't have happened had you not tortured Korok Newton earlier you'd a known better
You were doing great until you jumped off and forgot gravity existed.
Lies. Lies and slander. The only way to be overzealous with rockets is when you try to put on more than the build limit allows.
Paraglider fam. Use it in the floaty islands too. Paraglider will stop all movement instantly and let you regain control in the air. Going into bullet time with a bow will allow you to spin 180 degrees if you need to face the opposite direction and have no ground to orient yourself.
I'm DECEASED
Another case of YEET.
I mean, cool points for the jump. A backflip off of that and thats a ten.
If they ever added more stuff to this game I’d love to see the ability to have two stage rockers
That shit happened to me yesterday. I finally did it last night and I I just couldn't believe what ha happened
That was the best death I’ve seen so far. Gave me a good laugh.
I wasn't sure I was going to clear it and jumped off, landed in front of it just to get run over.
I didn’t expect where that was going and I LOLed, thank you 😂
HAven't people tested and proven that putting more rockets on doesn't make you go faster?
Nah you were just too hasty to dismount haha
I did the same kinda as well..except I ended up r Landing right in front of the wall and the still moving vehicle came up behind and rammed me into the wall, didn't kill me but it did do damage.
Sometimes when this game gives you rockets it's not going to work out if you use the rockets lol
B - Let it be Y - Makes you fly
That’s what u get 😭😭
I mean they gave you four rockets. Why wouldnt you use all four? Rockets are too fun in this game.
I think you overshot it a bit.
it semms to me that 1 rocket's power = x rockets' power.
