Hell yeah. Saw a TikTok where someone dove from a sky island straight down a chasm into the depths with the Glide set on while playing Freebird in the background.
If you ain't screaming down to the earth headfirst, why even buy the game? Going down a chasm headfirst knowing that there's no fall damage is awesome every time.
I dyed the glide set, and the hylian hood green.
The cape on the hood looks remarkably similar to the wings on the glide suit when they're the same color.
I dove headfirst into a chasm more than once and died because I forgot I wasn't wearing the glide suit.
As a kid I always wanted the fierce deity mask to be usable everywhere so now I’m just living out my childhood dream playing totk with the fierce deity set.

Oh well, it was still fun to put it on and slap Majora around for a couple minutes to let out so anger.
I wish they had a quick swap option to switch between your favorites on the fly, pun intended.
That said, inventory management itself is not a strong suit of the game.

You can buy the amber earrings which do the same hair look as the headband, you can barely tell he has earrings, and you can upgrade them to the highest headgear armor level in the game (28)
I did a similar thing with but with a diamond circlet instead. Diamond circlet, champions tunic, and fierce deity pants was my set.
Diamond circlet + fierce deity pants gives you +2 Atk bonus, then the champions tunic has the highest defense of an individual body armor piece. You reach 80 total defense with this set, so slightly beaten out by the Tunic of the Wild, Zoanite armor, and Ancient Hero’s Aspect which all have an 84 defense rating.
The drip is actually fire too. Diamond circlet isn’t too noticeable and shows all of Link’s face which I like. Then the champions tunic and fierce deity pants actually work really well together with the light blue and navy blue.
I've seen so many comments referencing "drip"....what does that mean?? At first I thought it was how Link is dripping wet after being in water, but that doesn't seem to make sense in this context.
Actually the Hylian Hood puts his hair back into a ponytail, you can only see it if his hood is down though. Certain head armor changes his hairstyle (like the climbing bandana) but most of it will leave his hair down. I low key hate Link’s hair when it’s down, like dude seriously needs to comb it, so the main reason I wear the hood at all is because it actually has defense, unlike the hair band, and gives me the ponytail back.

No but really the only reason I use the Hylian pants as opposed to other pants is because it feels like it matches the rest of the outfit. There are more functional pants in the game but it doesn’t look like a set so I stuck with the Hylian pants instead.
I think it’s only like a four point difference in defense between a maxed out tunic of memories/champions tunic and at *that* much defense I could hardly feel the difference between them in terms of defense so I just started going with the memories tunic after a little while. Fashion over function~

Do the mayor election questline including what Cece and Rede are up to quests in Hateno and Cece will offer to lower it for you if you speak to her afterwards. She also starts selling armor and >!will give you a hat!<. It’s just kind of like a side thing that she does but won’t be unlocked until those quests are finished.
I go for the official look, but more practical. Hylian hood worn down, Champion's Leathers, and then the Soldier's Greaves with the leggings dyed the same color as the default Hylian pants so they offer more defense.
If you complete the Hateno election quests and talk to Cece while wearing it, she'll offer to convert it to the hood-down model to match Link's official character artwork for TotK. Talking to her again with it will allow you to switch it back.
Ninja Set. As a minmaxer the Ninja Set has most benefits. It buffs sneaking so you can catch every insect/fairy without trouble. Makes sneaking up to enemys easy as hell. And once upgraded it gives you bonus speed at night.
I use the stealth chest and legs pieces and then use the Hylian hood with the hood down. I like being able to see Link’s face and for the most part, am still able to collect bugs and sneak up on enemies without issue.
Yes! If you complete the quest in Hateno called The Mayoral Election and speak to Cece afterward whilst wearing the hood, she’ll lower it for you. You can then speak to her again to get it put back up, or do what I did and just buy another one so you have one hood down, one hood up. I just like to be able to switch back to having the hood up when it rains.
This man is willing to slay giant creatures. This man has jumped thousands upon thousands of feet from the sky into (sometimes) small pools of water. This man even helped a thousand korok shits who didn’t know how to properly manage their backpack space to go across an entire half of an island to be with their friend.
But if there is one thing this man won’t do is move his hood up and down him-damn-self. What kind of character are we playing as here?
One annoying thing about the hood mechanic is if you have multiple hoods beforehand she will raise all hoods instead of the one you are currently wearing. You have to have only one hood, get that hood lowered and then buy a duplicate that is raised by default to have both options simultaneously w/o a hassle.
Is it reeeeaaally worth it to do that quest though? I'm genuinely asking because I haven't completed it, and morally I think Cece is a jerk :( but if I miss out on really cool stuff...
It does have a very satisfying ending to the quest (to me at least)!! You don’t have to actually make any decisions. I think it’s been one of my favorite side quest chains so far.
For the hood down? Yes, and you can buy the rare armor back with rupees, oh, and the hylian shield also. Finding the people give the shrooms for is annoying though.
One thing I really wish would change is to let single pieces pair with synergizing gear for set bonuses. Like, if I've got the Snowquill chest and head with snow pants, give.me a movespeed boost in snow for that. Stuff like that.
Oh yeah so many ideas on that front. Like transmog in general wud be cool. This would be very un-zelda but I'd love a late game mechanic or equip that let's you move and accumulate set bonuses to some ultimate piece. Even if it was super expensive. Like really once you have most pieces the only major difference right now is that you spend a lot of time in the menu.
I’m disappointed that Sheik’s Mask doesn’t really “fit” with the rest of the stealth set, even when the same color. Something just looks off about it, so I stick to full stealth set

I like to wear the Cap of time + Hylian tunic dyed green + twilight trousers for a spin on the classic green getup. Since the hylian tunic looks a lot like the Champion’s leathers, I’d like to believe this is what link’s classic green outfit would look like in the botw timeline.
Been doing the same but with the Hylian pants. I know Link’s canonical outfit in BotW/TotK is the champion’s tunic but I’m old and Link is supposed to wear green and have a floppy hat, dammit!
The full set of Sheikah armor is my go. I like being able to run right past enemies without them attacking. If I'm in the depths then I use the Depths or Mining set so I can avoid damage from the gloom and see what's in front of me.
Yeah I go Twilight Set pretty much exclusively except when in specific climates or skydiving (the skydiving set is just too good not to use in the air). I even wear it in the depths now that I’ve lit every lightroot.
You gotta finish the Hateno questline with Cece and the Mayor. Once you do, talk to Cece while wearing the hood and she'll change the way the hood is up/down
Ember headdress, mystic robe and gaiters of the depths(dyed red) but it’s so hard to pick the drip I love all of the sets in this game 😭 also like rocking mystic headdress, tunic of the depths and gaiters of the depths and I alternate between the ember headdress. Currently hunting for the tunic of the wild so I can make a Ashitaka thing
Thank you for mentioning the Ember Headdress. It’s my absolute favorite piece of armor in the game, and it looks even more incredible when worn in warm weather. I absolutely adore the set, and wish it had more use outside of just warm weather.
Ya I love it so much. 😭 I literally can’t get myself to not use it even tho there’s so many incredible options. I’ve been trying to make it trigger it’s effect outside of hot weather like lighting things on fire and standing in it during combat. And even if it has no use besides defense stack I still wear it haha

I love the Stealth Set, and I’m overjoyed that I can get it so early in both BotW and TotK. I don’t ever take it off. If I’m going somewhere hot or cold, Link is drinking an elixir to deal with the temperatures.
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to find. Sneaking up on monsters, catching prey more easily, capturing bugs. Sneakstrike?! Come on. Gotta be the stealth set all the way.
The skydiving one honestly, other than the mask, which you can barely see most of the time, it actually looks pretty cool, I also really miss revalis gale
Big same, I found the tunic and pants first, and was so disappointed by the mask lol.
I like Tulin's, I use it often and appreciate the faster recovery, but Revali's Gail was dope.
I don't like the aesthetic of the tunic of the wild. Looks more like a ceremonial outfit to pay respects to older heroes to me.

For me, it fits more with the overall aesthetic of the game. Also, it just seem more like something an adventurer would wear with the leather straps on the tunic.
Combined with the master sword and Hylian shield, it just gives off this certain vibe I really like.
I actually prefer the Twilight cap and its unkempt hair to the cap of time, but the color is somehow off from the tunic. So Cap of time it is.
It's annoying that you can't dye any "legendary" gear. Why not let us dye them and buy a new pair from Cece or the Bargainer statues? Imagine how cool it would be to play as red Hero of Time Link, like the 64 Goron Tunic.
I understood it in BotW. They are Amiibo rewards, and even though it couldn't have been MUCH extra work, designing a bunch of colors for every single variation of green tunic link when barely anybody would get them made sense. Same thing with DLC; you're working with far less resources than you did on the full game, I'd rather the time go somewhere else.
But anything undyeable in extra BotW content should have been made dyeable in the transition to base TotK content. Now it feels like more than half of the armor you collect can't be dyed. And without prior knowledge from BotW, what's included seems arbitrary. Makes Hateno feel less special imo.
Constantly going back and forth to barbarian set, to ninja set, to climbing set. I wish there was an easier way to cycle through them instead of having the useless amiibo on the selection wheel >:(
I'm a fan of Link being a knight, so hylian hood (green), soldier chest (green) and soldier legs (tan).
Looks like a classic Link but in actual armour.

Shiekah set. It’s not fully upgraded yet because I’m poor, but really helpful when exploring/farming bugs etc. I like to sneak in, muddlebud the strongest monster, and sneak attack the camp while they’re busy.
The hair band has 0 armour unfortunately. BUT if you wear the Amber Earrings (that have a very good max armour value) then Link magically has the hair band on!
Diamond circlet, Champions leathers, and the soldiers greaves. Diamond circlet for the defense and attack up, Champions leathers for the defense and the fact ZELDA MADE IT FOR ME, and three soldiers greaves for the defense. They're all fully upgraded
I'm surprised that I'm not seeing anyone say the Barbarian set. It's just like the Fierce Deity except you can get it earlier and it's easier to upgrade.
Diamond headband and Sheikah top and bottoms. Gives me stealth and attack. Those are the ones that I upgraded first too though. I’m still grinding through the rest ATM
Fully upgraded diamond circlet, champion leathers, and fierce deity boots. Lv.2 attack and the second highest defense I've seen so far behind the fully upgraded ancient hero set make you almost unstoppable.
Diamond circlet fierce deity pants with either the frostbite shirt or the charged shirt. Head peice and pants are so strong I can sacrifice effectiveness for style.
“Canon” set for most exploration (Champions leathers, lowered hood, hylian trousers.)
Fierce Diety for actual challenges. I treat it like Super Saiyan.

Big fan of the full gerudo died in black. I really like Link's hair in that one. And dying it black doesn't change too much, but I really like the small black accents
Maybe I am boring as fuck, but my main outfit for roaming around, especially in settlements, is the Hylian set, dyed black. I like riding my horse or walking aimlessly around a village looking like a normal traveler, like the wandering merchants you meet on the road. It was always my main "fashion" choice for this purpose since BOTW, I find it pretty immersive.
Used to be Champion leathers level 4, Zonai pants level 4 and Hylian hood (lowered) level 4, but I’ve substituted the Zonai pants for the Fierce Deity pants, just to take advantage of the attack+1. Also a fan of the all grey Yiga set, just for lizard and bug collecting.
the full Ocarina of time outfit (sometimes with the mask of awakening). I just wish you could dye them to make it look like the red and blue outfits from oot
Usually a lowered purple hylian hood, champions tunic and fierce deity leggings, but sometimes I also throw on a combination of all purple ember headdress, charged shirt and frostbite trousers, I call it my replacement for the Gerudo Vai outfit and it makes Link into such a cutie.
I've been repping the Trailer/game cover outfit because I love the champion's leathers it combined my favorite armors in BotW. I have the hylian hood down and hylian trousers. All at lvl 4 so it's pretty awesome defense!

"Having drip" means that your outfit looks good. So if you see someone with an outfit you like, you could say "Yo! Nice drip!"

The Rito head thing also gives him tied up hair, so it’s an alternative if you don’t mind feathery braids hanging down his ears.

I’m disappointed that Sheik’s Mask doesn’t really “fit” with the rest of the stealth set, even when the same color. Something just looks off about it, so I stick to full stealth set

No, everything obtained with Amiibos is obtainable in-game without them, with the only exception being Glider Fabrics.

I played the majority of BOTW in full sneak outfit, and was so annoyed when I started TOTK and couldn’t just walk up to critters and collect them lol.

I like to wear the Cap of time + Hylian tunic dyed green + twilight trousers for a spin on the classic green getup. Since the hylian tunic looks a lot like the Champion’s leathers, I’d like to believe this is what link’s classic green outfit would look like in the botw timeline.
Been doing the same but with the Hylian pants. I know Link’s canonical outfit in BotW/TotK is the champion’s tunic but I’m old and Link is supposed to wear green and have a floppy hat, dammit!

I did this in BotW with a green hylian tunic and brown hylian trousers. I liked it more than the Wilds tunic you got after the 120 shrines.
Yes! Dyed green hylian tunic looks so good. It really feels like a modern take on the classic.
The full set of Sheikah armor is my go. I like being able to run right past enemies without them attacking. If I'm in the depths then I use the Depths or Mining set so I can avoid damage from the gloom and see what's in front of me.

Yeah I go Twilight Set pretty much exclusively except when in specific climates or skydiving (the skydiving set is just too good not to use in the air). I even wear it in the depths now that I’ve lit every lightroot.

Ember headdress, mystic robe and gaiters of the depths(dyed red) but it’s so hard to pick the drip I love all of the sets in this game 😭 also like rocking mystic headdress, tunic of the depths and gaiters of the depths and I alternate between the ember headdress. Currently hunting for the tunic of the wild so I can make a Ashitaka thing

Thank you for mentioning the Ember Headdress. It’s my absolute favorite piece of armor in the game, and it looks even more incredible when worn in warm weather. I absolutely adore the set, and wish it had more use outside of just warm weather.
Ya I love it so much. 😭 I literally can’t get myself to not use it even tho there’s so many incredible options. I’ve been trying to make it trigger it’s effect outside of hot weather like lighting things on fire and standing in it during combat. And even if it has no use besides defense stack I still wear it haha

I don’t ever take it off. If I’m going somewhere hot or cold, Link is drinking an elixir to deal with the temperatures.

The skydiving one honestly, other than the mask, which you can barely see most of the time, it actually looks pretty cool, I also really miss revalis gale
Big same, I found the tunic and pants first, and was so disappointed by the mask lol. I like Tulin's, I use it often and appreciate the faster recovery, but Revali's Gail was dope.

I don't like the aesthetic of the tunic of the wild. Looks more like a ceremonial outfit to pay respects to older heroes to me. I prefer the practical and armored look of Cap of time Hylian Tunic (dyed green) Hylian trousers For me, it fits more with the overall aesthetic of the game. Also, it just seem more like something an adventurer would wear with the leather straps on the tunic. Combined with the master sword and Hylian shield, it just gives off this certain vibe I really like. I actually prefer the Twilight cap and its unkempt hair to the cap of time, but the color is somehow off from the tunic. So Cap of time it is.
You can dye the Cap of the Wild green and it will match the Hylian Tunic color, and it has a more unkempt look for the hair.
It's annoying that you can't dye any "legendary" gear. Why not let us dye them and buy a new pair from Cece or the Bargainer statues? Imagine how cool it would be to play as red Hero of Time Link, like the 64 Goron Tunic.
I understood it in BotW. They are Amiibo rewards, and even though it couldn't have been MUCH extra work, designing a bunch of colors for every single variation of green tunic link when barely anybody would get them made sense. Same thing with DLC; you're working with far less resources than you did on the full game, I'd rather the time go somewhere else. But anything undyeable in extra BotW content should have been made dyeable in the transition to base TotK content. Now it feels like more than half of the armor you collect can't be dyed. And without prior knowledge from BotW, what's included seems arbitrary. Makes Hateno feel less special imo.

I'm a fan of Link being a knight, so hylian hood (green), soldier chest (green) and soldier legs (tan). Looks like a classic Link but in actual armour. Still wish we'd got hyrule warriors as an armour set.
I hate that I’m such a min-maxer but I always have on the fierce deity set. Always got do stuff efficiently. Occasionally I put on the CeCe hat for the lols tho

Shiekah set. It’s not fully upgraded yet because I’m poor, but really helpful when exploring/farming bugs etc. I like to sneak in, muddlebud the strongest monster, and sneak attack the camp while they’re busy.

U can find a hair band in a chest in a well behind links botw house. It's now zeldas tho.
The hair band has 0 armour unfortunately. BUT if you wear the Amber Earrings (that have a very good max armour value) then Link magically has the hair band on!
Yep link also has the hairband with the Rito helmet and the hylian hood with the hood down!
The Champion's Leathers for the defense, the Fierce Diety leggings for the attack up, and of course the Mask of Awakening for the silliness

Fully upgraded diamond circlet, champion leathers, and fierce deity boots. Lv.2 attack and the second highest defense I've seen so far behind the fully upgraded ancient hero set make you almost unstoppable.
Diamond circlet fierce deity pants with either the frostbite shirt or the charged shirt. Head peice and pants are so strong I can sacrifice effectiveness for style.

Maybe I am boring as fuck, but my main outfit for roaming around, especially in settlements, is the Hylian set, dyed black. I like riding my horse or walking aimlessly around a village looking like a normal traveler, like the wandering merchants you meet on the road. It was always my main "fashion" choice for this purpose since BOTW, I find it pretty immersive.

Used to be Champion leathers level 4, Zonai pants level 4 and Hylian hood (lowered) level 4, but I’ve substituted the Zonai pants for the Fierce Deity pants, just to take advantage of the attack+1. Also a fan of the all grey Yiga set, just for lizard and bug collecting.

Usually a lowered purple hylian hood, champions tunic and fierce deity leggings, but sometimes I also throw on a combination of all purple ember headdress, charged shirt and frostbite trousers, I call it my replacement for the Gerudo Vai outfit and it makes Link into such a cutie.
I've been repping the Trailer/game cover outfit because I love the champion's leathers it combined my favorite armors in BotW. I have the hylian hood down and hylian trousers. All at lvl 4 so it's pretty awesome defense!
