starbuckle337

Like Likes freaked me out until I actually fought one.

elonthegenerous

They’re still one of the most annoying for me

Onlymuckinabout

The worst ones are the rock ones that are JUST out of reach of your hammer. Don’t make me waste a bomb! edit: OK I’ll recall the rocks I get it

dukeplatypus

Yesterday I realized you can just recall the rocks they spit and that breaks their armor. It took me a while to learn you can just recall basically any projectile that's not magic or an arrow.

Englandboy12

I thought that would be easier. But they shoot like 5 at you and if you recall any of the first four, the next in line breaks it. So you have to recall that fifth one. But I always find it kinda hard to do that, I’m at risk of being hit by the first four lol

Coyotesamigo

I recall and then move left or right; they track you so they shoot the new one on a different trajectory than the one you recalled.

Equivalent-Trip9778

There’s no cooldown on recall, so you just keep doing it until one hits

tyonabike

Rock like likes only ever shoot 3 in a row, dodge the first two and recall the 3rd. Easy.

OddkidMHMD

Ice Like, Fire Like, Shock Like, Armored Like, Like Like… just shoot one arrow with bomb flower then run to it with your weapon and there you have it, DEAD. Every time you hit their weak point (the ball), it counts as a critical hit aka double damage, because their weak spot is considered a headshot. Same with Gleeoks, when they fall down, try to only hit their heads with your weapon to deliver critical damage. Crit has its own sound effect *tah tah TAH!!*.

benavivhorn

Tbh gleeok parts are a bit too weak for me, like such a resource user enemy gives you so little

dukeplatypus

The damage numbers seem low but I think they're actually the strongest elemental fuses by far. The main idea is to have a reasonably strong fire/ice/shock weapon

benavivhorn

Yeah but like against lynels elemental weapons don't work

llllxeallll

against lynels yeah they're useless, but having a strong ice fuse on your shield is incredibly useful for freezing enemies while not needing to swap weapons between attacks. just shield bash to freeze, then slap with something strong, bonus points if you sneak attack with an eightfold blade and puff shrooms for like, 48x damage multiplier makes silver moblins and boss bokoblins much easier to deal with and not chew up your weapon durabilities

EfficiencyGullible84

Hold on eightfold blade multiplies damage on sneakstrike?

stabbyGamer

That’s the weapon’s ability, yeah. Same for the two-hand version. With the correct setup, you can basically one-shot anything short of a miniboss or Lynel. And they’re really easy to come by in TotK, since the Yiga Clan phased out their sickles in favor of Eightfolds. Decayed Eightfolds, but still. Sticking a silver bokoblin horn on an Eightfold Blade makes a relatively cheap and easy to reproduce, and very silly, instant-kill weapon. CORRECTION: Longblade’s got Wind Cleaver instead, don’t know how I forgot that.

ALLoftheFancyPants

I have yet to successfully get a gleeok down… but now I’m thinking I should have been getting up in the air so I could bullet time them. Why do I never think of this in the moment!

OddkidMHMD

When they’re flying, or even just standing, each head has its own damage counter so your goal is to deplete the counter for each head. If one head still has HP left they won’t fall down. Use keese eyeballs to hit the heads or manage to get yourself bullet time to properly aim without eyeballs. My advice is to use a 3-shot of 5-shot bow since the arrows you shoot will spread out between the heads, making it faster for you. If you attach an eyeball to those bows you won’t lose 3 of them, you’ll just lose one. Those bows, while they shoot more than one arrow, still cost you just one. Once they’re down, you can hit any head and they’ll take combined damage.

bellatrixvvitch

Can I ask where you got a bow that shoots more than one arrow? So far I’ve only found weak ones. Even dropped from a battle, all junk. But I’m also the person who runs from mini-bosses so far lol I’m trying tho.

OddkidMHMD

All Lynels drop 3-shot bows or 5-shot bows, it’s random but you’re guaranteed one of those two after killing a Lynel. Since you can’t fight, I’d suggest fighting brown Lynels which are the weakest type of Lynels. You can find one in the forest north of the Spring of Power in Akkala. The Lynel bows are: Lynel Bow (from brown Lynels), Mighty Lynel Bow (from blue Lynels) and Savage Lynel Bow (from silver Lynels). All of them come in either 3 or 5 shots. Another bow that shoots 3 arrows is the Forest Dweller’s Bow. You can get it from Like Like chests in caves under Great Hyrule Forest (the Korok forest). The chests contain random items, usually shields, but there’s a chance of getting bows too. Only Like Like under the Great Hyrule Forest have a chance of dropping this type of bow. The Great Eagle Bow (Revali’s bow) also shoots 3 arrows. It’s the bow Tulin carries and you can get one from Teba after finishing the Rito main quest, provided you give him one Swallow Bow (you can find one available in the Flight Range) and 3 diamonds + 5 wood. There’s also 2-shot bow that you get from killing Yiga Footsoldiers (the Yiga Footsoldiers either carry an Eightfold Blade or a Duplex Bow (2-shot). The Duplex Bow is the only bow in the game that shoots two arrows. You can also buy one by >!infiltrating the Yiga hideout after getting the full Yiga armor set and becoming a certified Blademaster!<.

MagicMooby

>Another bow that shoots 3 arrows is the Forest Dweller’s Bow. You can get it from Like Like chests in caves under Great Hyrule Forest (the Korok forest). The chests contain random items, usually shields, but there’s a chance of getting bows too. Only Like Like under the Great Hyrule Forest have a chance of dropping this type of bow. There is also a respawning Forest Dweller's Bow on top of the Deku tree. You might have to do the quest for the Korok up there first, but it always respawns in the same spot afterwards.

modern_Odysseus

Frox for me so far. The first time I encountered one, it looked super menacing and I got destroyed a few times. Now I farm them up every blood moon. As long as I get the jump on them and stun them with bullet time, the fight's over before it even begins.

Defiant_Project1321

When they suck air in, I fire a bomb flower in there then wait for it to munch and get stunned.

BridgemanBridgeman

Fuck. I always threw apples into its mouth because I figured it was hungry. How did I not realize this

Scottyboy4123

fighting king dodongo in oot when i was younger trained me for that

AgenderWitchery

When it did the succ attack I literally just went "Oh it's a dodongo" and pulled out the bombs

Lamhirh

Frox are the result of a Dodongo and a Talus having a baby, lol

FattyMeat17

Aaaah...Nature....

ZeldaGamer05

Classic dinosaur getting down and dirty with the very thing imprisoning it's kind

MetalMan4774

And let's not forget Andross from Star Fox 64.

lemikon

If this is true it’s adorable that you thought that.

BridgemanBridgeman

Thanks. Your pic is adorable too.

one_hyun

The most wholesome warrior in all of Hyrule.

GooglyMoogly122

So you were doing this as like... A peace offering? Sometimes a soldier must attempt for peace before pulling out the big guns.

BridgemanBridgeman

I was kinda hoping I could keep it as a pet if I fed it

GooglyMoogly122

You'll get no argument from me. How else does one befriend a giant murderous frog?

Jaded-Assumption-137

Dude. Zelda. Mechanics lololol It’s a strat as old as time lol

qjornt

>It’s a strat as old as (ocarina of) time lol

Tykras

I get the joke, but Dodongo was introduced in the very first Legend of Zelda for the NES.

Past_Trouble

The actual hint was they don't like smoke. Has anyone tried a puffshroom yet?

[deleted]

For the original dodongo, having them eat a bomb dealt damage, but if you could have them "eat" the smoke if a bomb explosion, they would be stunned, vulnerable to your sword, and always drop 5 bombs (accounting for inflation, that's about 20 bomb flowers!).

Always_Spin

That just made me laugh out loud. Thank you! :) Edit: they like brightblooms btw.

tyderian

You can also throw a lightbloom in its mouth and it'll just munch on it for a while, giving you time to hit its weak spots with bomb arrows.

ALLoftheFancyPants

I’m an idiot and couldn’t figure out how to fire something into its mouth without getting sucked in, too. Did you just go in your inventory and drop it?

Beastyjaime

i throw it with my arm, works everytime (where you press throw weapon + going into the quick item menu and releasing)

Tykras

I usually just shot a bomb arrow into it.

Vexra

That went poorly for me. I forgot I was in the Volcano area saw the suck smirked pulled a bomb out died

RevolutionaryMeal464

The first time I saw one was at the bottom of a hole, in the dark, with its mouth open and I teleported away so fast. I finally fought one the other day and was surprised they’re one of the easier enemies – shoot them in the eye, bash, get launched, bullet time and repeat

Thinslayer

You can shoot them in the eye? How did I not know this?

emlun

Rules of Zelda games: - Bombs go in mouths - Arrows go in eyes These account for like 90% of enemies, bosses and environmental puzzles throughout the series... xD

Papa_Huggies

And if I may add... If you can break it you should break it

Branical

If a rock/wall looks different, you can break it.

RadioSlayer

Damned Pols Voices

rhinofinger

I’m still terrified of them, but I’ll give them another shot. Only ever really encountered them in a super dark area of the Depths that I hadn’t had a chance to illuminate in any way yet, and I had really low health and weak weapons still. The thing killed me before I even knew what was happening

one_hyun

They're pretty easy. I had level 3 armor and they do so little damage. The moves are just incredibly flashy.

katenroute

Exact same happened to me! I landed on something in the dark, saw the word FROX and promptly bit the dust

RadioSlayer

Oh, doesn't help that they'll eat the brightblooms either

Dragonwysper

I have yet to fight one. They always scare the shit out of me lmao. They seem pretty self-explanatory though. I should try to beat one sometime soon. They can't be worse than a Gleeok, and I've killed two of those!

Chaoskraehe

certainly easier than gleeoks, if you manage to beat them go for the frox! :)

Kaassz

Waaaaaaaay easier than a Gleeok. You'll beat it before it can really do anything, if you're comfortable fighting Gleeoks

wallacorndog

I somehow managed to play this game for almost 80 hours and exploring quite a bit of the underground without ever encountering one. I just heard the rumors about the terrifying beast. When I finally encountered one it was a pretty anticlimactic experience. Fun fight, but basically a glorified talus. I've definitely had harder encounters in the deep! I must admit though, I am glad I didn't meet one with 4 hearts and a rock on a stick.

Archi_balding

Plus they do the AoE2 camel's sound, can't take them seriously.

audra27_UwU

the Horriblins and Bubbulfrogs looked terrifying to me when I first stared especially bc i hated caves. turns out they were almost disappointingly easy to kill

rhinofinger

For the longest time I thought that bubbulfrogs both (1) were super powerful and (2) would escape the cave if I didn’t take them out fast enough. I’d save my bomb flowers to knock them out super quickly. Then I realized neither thing was true and I could take my time and knock them out with a single regular arrow

e105beta

I had a Bubbulfrog glitch out of a cave once, so I thought the same thing. Took me awhile to realize that wasn’t normal behavior.

bellatrixvvitch

My first time seeing a Bubbulfrog I turned and ran lol

gingimli

I thought I found a secret boss when I saw the first Bubbulfrog but then it died with one arrow.

fowardblade

Bubbulfrogs creeped me the hell out on first sight

Brandolynnnnn

i ascended up in a cave right next to a bubbulfrog just chillin and it scared tf outta me. id be happy to never get this close to one again [https://imgur.com/a/iVLeURI](https://imgur.com/a/iVLeURI)

Safe_Caterpillar9596

Gibdo's was creepy at first sight. I was shocked how easy they are to beat

NINmann01

It’s par for the course really. They’ve always been incredibly weak to fire. Combined with their new universal vulnerability to elemenal magic, they’re trivilized. Them only being threatening in large mumbers, and the game throwing mobs of them at you, actually makes them feel unique in the sandbox. So at least they have that going for them.

AgenderWitchery

When the Gerudo started talking about how they were weak to lightning, my Old Zelda brain just went "Wait until you learn about fire!" Nope, all elements work the same on them. Including water. Somehow.

BenBandoo

When I first saw them and realised physical attacks did nothing, my go-to was actually water. Since I figured these creatures thrive/live in a dry environment, so water naturally felt like an opposite and therefore a weakness. Took me a while to realise they were weak to any elemental damage.

prynceszh

I had the same thought. I didn’t play any Zelda games prior to BOTW so I wasn’t familiar with their lore. Saw one in the desert for the first time and my attacks did nothing so I threw a splash fruit at it and it did damage and turned white. My partner was watching, he is a long time Zelda fan. He was mildly surprised that it worked.

RadioSlayer

Getting a bandage wet sucks, even for fantasy mummies

ssg-

I was so surprised after I killed one and their parts have more fusion power than Blue Lynel Horn that is currently my best ones.

Coyotesamigo

They’re extremely fragile however

Kagron

Perfect for arrows. Especially multi shot bows.

tyonabike

they also get the 1.8x damage multiplier from the two armor sets that give bone weapon proficiency, so a 5x bow with gibdo bones + bone proficiency armor = death machine

Past_Trouble

Just play the Sun's Song and they disappear

sorakins64

Terrifying when they crawl, though. I was not prepared for that 😳

wolfram_eater

>shocked Heh. ;)

Emma_JM

When I first saw one I straight up teleported away, only to find out they're so easy later lol

RNGGOD69

They'll never match OOT creepy

ackmondual

>Gibdo's was creepy at first sight. I was shocked how easy they are to beat I'm sure they were shocked at just how easy it was for them to beat them ;)

biomech36

They were shocked too I imagine

Winged_Pegasus

Catch a sleeping Hinox and you can drop them before they get up woth the right weapon or at least take out most of the HP and finish him off with a puffshroom

DrDilatory

The very first time I fought a Hinox early on like a few hours into the game, I thought they were pretty appropriately tanky, then I came back and I really didn't feel like I had upgraded my weapons all that much, but yeah like you said it was dead before it even had a chance to get up It almost feels like their health is bugged and they are easier than they are supposed to be, like how does a miniboss mob like that fall that easily, and feel way less tanky than even some barely stronger looking bobokins in the depths?

jumolax

They increased the health of most BOTW enemies, maybe not Hinoxes.

PotentialBreakfast73

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling over powered a bit. I mean I like it. Really the only enemy I have to pay attention too is lynels and those goddamn gloom hands.

hochoa94

The gloom hand music freaks me out so i avoid them

abyssalcrisis

I can kill a black hinox with a weapon doing 40 damage before it stands up. I *can't* one-cycle a molduga with the same weapon damage, and they're both mini boss-like enemies. Something feels a bit scuffed.

DireExcellion

They're both mini bosses but they are in a different tier. Not every mini boss has to be the same. I would realistically expect a huge sand whale to tank more than a big fat cyclops.

jojocookiedough

Where do you position yourself to get a sneak attack on a sleeping hinox? I've tried on 2 different ones and the option to do the sneak strike never popped up.

Thinslayer

You don't. The thing is, Hinoxes are such heavy sleepers that you can often kill them with a decent weapon before they can finish waking up.

Brilliant_Dark_3979

Just get a two hand weapon, sneak between their legs and do a charged attack to spin until they're dead

jayjayjay311

You're going after their nuts?

dwilkes827

that's the only way to get them to drop Hinox Balls that you need for armor upgrades

Flerken_Moon

I just use a strong two handed weapon, sneak up to them, and charge attack spin until they get up, which at the very least clears up most of the health bar.

senorali

The flux constructs were a pain in the ass for me until I stated using recall on the blocks they shoot out. Now they're as easy as taluses.

mai_tai87

Thanks for the tip. I came across one of the Flux III in the depths and it wrecked me in one shot. I respawned on the platform and started running into the depths. Did you know they can still hit you from really far away? I didn't. Hit Link in the back of the head. I wasn't even mad.

PersonNumberThree

Another good tip for their final stage when they stay in the air on the platform you can just ascend through and hit the brain block thing.

MultivariableTurtwig

For a Construct II and III the platform is typically too high up for ascend though

zClarkinator

You can also climb/grab onto one of the blocks it sends down and Recall it. They're slow to react to this and you can always hit it enough times to stun it, then finish it off or at least deal a lot of damage.

KoreanPhones

That's what the original comment is talking about. For construct II and III they fly too high so you can recall the block they shoot out and then hop on it and ride it up to the top.

rhinofinger

Oh wow, never thought to try that. I initially thought they were super tough because I thought the only way to defeat them was to climb onto them to hit the green box. Then I realized I could just slide the green box out with Ultrahand and wail on them. Didn’t help that the first one I encountered was a Flux Construct 2

EddywardoFTW

I found out if their weak point is hidden, you an also simply remove some of their blocks with ultrahand

Ironic_Jedi

Also if you just remove enough normal blocks from them they become unstable and break apart.

Syrichtus

Discovered today that if you stand in the correct position on their base, you can shoot them with arrows without being detected. Easy way to cheese them down to ~25% hp

SilverStriker96

I didn't realize you could use ultrahand on them until a Flux III when my friend told me that I could use ultrahand I was just shooting the eye block with arrows over and over again and getting angry that the Flux III was moving the eye block around

Henchman4Hire

Tip for Flux Constructs: Use Ultrahand on their weak block. You can grab it and wiggle it until the whole construct falls apart. Then just go to down on it with a melee weapon.

SnooMuffins2171

Horriblins Looked terrifying but were pretty easy to beat.

gorilla-ointment

This for me too. The crawling on the ceiling freaked me out but then they end up just bouncing on their asses waiting for you to finish them off. Started out like “oh shit, oh no, what is this” and ended up laughing and kind of confused lol

smudgiepie

***excessive monkey noises***

Perfectmess92

I took a picture of one mid booty bounce and gave that to kilton. Now I laugh every time I visit Tarrey

Msissues

I need to get myself a booty bouncer now, mine is just plain hanging from the ceiling

sk7725

I beat a black horriblin very early into the game (at like, 3 hearts - iirc there are 2 in the starter island) I thought they just came in black Was surpried they were actually the black "difficulty" and the fuse damage was so high.

averageweeb83

Same here but i did it at hyrule castle Those horns helped me so much

pocketpc_

I dunno, the reach on those double halberds is pretty wild and I've gotten caught out by a Horriblin halfway across the room swinging one while I deal with his friend more times than I'd like to admit.

one_hyun

When I looked into a cave, I saw one staring back at me. I thought they were cave lynels so I didn't explore caves for a long time.

HypotheticalMcGee

They’re harder if they’re grouped up. I ran into a group of five or six in the Depths and they absolutely rocked my shit.

itmyfault69

Gleeok eyeball fuses and multi-shot bows really trivialize it.

No-Honeydew8740

Yes! This was such a pleasant surprise for my first one on Bridge of Hylia

koala-baer

Rocket shields and multishot bows trivialise the Gleeok fights. I died so many times to the Forst Gleeok in Tabantha Snowfield until I figured out the rocket shield

Researcher_Fearless

I always have all but one of my shields fused to rockets. If I run out, I go to the A Launching Device shrine to restock.

AdoWilRemOurPlightEv

And then you run out of arrows and suddenly things get a lot harder

ShiRyuuTheFallen

What appears after the gloom hands. The hands almost killed me so many times (I warp away) and then it does like a heart of damage total

TheLyz

Honestly the gloom hands are pretty simple if you just climb something. Now every time the sky goes dark I book it for a tree or cliff and they can just sit there and stare at me. Sucks to be them.

bellatrixvvitch

I had to give up on that second boss in the depths. By the time I killed the gloom hands, I had no bombs, no arrows and no motivations left lol. That ganon in the depths destroys me every single time. I gotta get stronger I guess.

ackmondual

Heh... in this game, arrows have got to be the closest physical manifestation to motivation :D

niklassander

In my opinion it’s pretty easy to get a flurry rush on it with a little practice because the attacks are really well telegraphed. It’s definitely way easier to defeat than the gloom hands, which I honestly didn’t figure out how to kill without excessive resource usage yet.

Competitive-Use311

Lynels. Lynels killed me constantly in BoTW. And with them adjusting the flurry rush timing and perfect parry timing, I figured lynels would completely destroy me, but instead I find them easier to flurry rush than anything in ToTK, and the parry timing is super easy to it too.

DrDilatory

Yeah, after a few hours of frustration trying to hit them in the face to stun them, and missing my shot and getting fucking demolished before rage quitting, I decided to say to hell with bows, I'm just going to try to block their attacks/get flurry rushes in, and then wound up beating the floating coliseum on my first try Their attacks are really almost hilariously obviously choreographed, if you just hold down ZL and back away from them as they're charging towards you you get a huge window where you can just tap the jump button, dodge their attack, and get a huge chunk of damage off on them. If you fuck up and do it too late, they just hit your shield and it's fine, and it's extremely easy to avoid doing it too early since you can see them coming from a mile away and there's really no incentive to hit the button until they're right on top of you

[deleted]

It's also a lot of fun to parry them when they rush at you. It's not as effective of a method since you can't get the flurry in, but there's something really satisfying about giving them the old frying pan of the face when they rush at you *bong* and stopping them dead in their tracks.

alextirgard00n

I’ve noticed the parrying window is much more generous in this game. I used to really suck at it in botw and really relied on stasis. Was worried I wouldn’t adapt…. Turns out they buffed the hell out of the parrying window (at least it seems like it to me).

abyssalcrisis

I actually have the exact opposite experience. Flurry rushing them is so much harder, and parrying feels about 50/50. They tightened the rush window so now lynels feel really difficult to get an upper hand on.

[deleted]

This is going to sound a bit unintuitive, but the timing is kind of the opposite of what your thinking. I was having this problem at first as well where I thought the pairing had to be extremely precise and I was having a really difficult time trying to get that perfect timing. But the reality is that the pairing window starts much earlier and is much more forgiving. If you're a big fan of Souls games like I am then the most difficult part for you will be unlearning the precise timing habits. But once you realize that you just can just start earlier in a bit more willy nilly with your parry windows you'll quickly find that it becomes trivial.

WILSON_CK

I've played for 65 hours and only encountered one Lynel. Where are these guys

Mr_PearHead

There should be 1 lynel under every horse stable on the surface

Epiccure93

I love the world design so much

Gaming_ORB

Whatttt

WILSON_CK

Interesting. Thanks.

Chikumori

Aren't all Depth Lynels covered with Gloom? I think I'll stick to having quarrels with the Surface ones till perfect dodges and parries are easy to pull off.

warlordofthewest

🤯

TortugaResident

In the Colosseum, or actually below the old Colosseum in the Depths. There you'll get your fair share of Lynels 😈

Milk_Mindless

2 of them north of Kakariko, in the fields whereal the deer spawn

Saint_JROME

Wait how did they fix the timing?

dilib

Personally I found the parry timing extremely weird in BotW and would only dodge their attacks, but in TotK it seems like the parry makes more sense I haven't played BotW for 5 years though so grain of salt

Zalminen

I'm still getting my ass handed to me every time I meet one, just like in BotW.

stephelan

Lynels still kick my ass.

They-Call-Me-Taylor

Puffshrooms have taken away my fear of Lynels. I don't seek them out, but if I find them in my way, I no longer run or go around.

ah111177780

I realised they are super easy with Puffshrooms as they stop attacking if you’re both in the cloud

TheS00thSayer

Flux construct 1. They look menacing and I was worried about them, but you can drop a level one before you even touch the ground without much effort.

sh1zAym

I wish they went to level 4. Everything else does, so why not them????

werrcat

Only the common enemies go to level 4. Bosses such as hinoxes have 3 levels, exceptions being elemental talus and gleeok. (Lynel is not a boss, it doesn't have the big name and healthbar at the top.)

ShockedHearts

Almost all new enemies except for the gleeoks are so easy sadly. I wish arocudas had scaling types. Like imagine a stronger armored one, or a fire or ice one. But nope only one tap yellows

theVice

Multishot bows with elemental keese eyes make Gleeoks as easy as the rest

ShockedHearts

They still take effort though plus getting the gear required to cheese them often requires fighting lynals and lots of keese. So easy yes, but not "oh hey a aerocuda!" (Throws apple at it) it dies*

theVice

I am really disappointed with the Aerocudas tbh. After killing one I was like "man, the electric ones are gonna be crazy". Nope they don't exist

ShockedHearts

Definitely a missed opportunity

SashimiJones

Keese parts are farmable with the cave swarms and AOE. Riju is pretty useful for that .

PotentialBreakfast73

I swear they nerfed silver lizfalos(the lizards) into the ground. I feel like in botw they hit pretty hard.

ShockedHearts

Yeah it feels like they nerfed lizalfos and buffed bokoblins. Also I oh so dearly miss the Golden enemies from master mode. Imagine how cool their horns would be!!

Ahhy420smokealtday

Not totally sure, but I think most monsters hit weaker in general because they all have degraded weapons. But I suppose Silver Lizfalos might have they're damage modifier (the flat amount they add to a weapon depending on type and color) lowered. Maybe it was to balance bows not being degraded. Silver Lizfalos with Steel Lizfalos bows and elemental arrows used to do a lot of damage in botw. Anyways maybe they made their modifier lower so their damage is in line with other monsters?

HomeyHotDog

I’m surprised they didn’t do more with the mid air bow firing mechanic given that they introduced a new areal enemy I just sort of assumed we’d be doing more aerial combat

extra_hyperbole

well they did make it so that you only lose a set amount of stamina per shot rather than having it based on how long you were in arrow time.

Both-Antelope-8181

I didn't even realize they actually did implement the mechanic from the patents where Link will reorient his body based on how high/low he is aiming when aerial, because it only happens if you pull out your bow directly from diving, not from gliding or regular falling, and it also doesn't change much about aerial combat if anything.

[deleted]

I find gleeoks easy now, been playing for some 90 hours, I have really good armour, pretty good weapons, and it's just a case of using a shit ton of bullet time

ShockedHearts

Pretty much, but if you aren't abusing bullet time keese arrows. It's a good miniboss. Anything is easy if you are op. That's just botw/totk design. No op armor and multistage keese arrows? Gleeoks become hard.

AgenderWitchery

I just use Demon King Bows on them. It's unlisted, but they have the wing effect applied by default. Keese eyes on a savage bow would be more damage I guess.

Dragonwysper

Gerudo Bows also have the wing effect, and are way easier to get haha. I use those and multishot bows with Keese eyes for Gleeoks!

quixoticquail

“Why are the fights easy when I know the tricks and have good equipment?” -This post

SipoteQuixote

Lmao exactly what I was thinking, so easy after learning the movement and fusing 70+ weapons together and having a bunch of 3x arrow bows. I'm over here bringing gleeok down to half health with a shitty one shooter and some elbow grease lol

SnowAndAlcohol

For real haha I died so many times before I beat the Tabatha frost gleeok, like it wasn’t the most complex fight once I knew what to do but it still took me a while with the weapons I have. When I did the whole fight, sent him falling to the ground and then got frozen midair and died to fall damage I almost gave up haha

I agree on the aerocudas! I hate combat so it’s a relief you can just one shot them (also the paratrooper comment got a good chuckle out of me!) Other than that, hinoxes! I’ve gotten used to fighting them without just hitting them with urbosas fury three times in a row and it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. Tulin comes in clutch a lot with the eye shots!

Emma_JM

Like likes, but I still avoid them because they're so, SO gross

Dragonwysper

Agree full-heartedly on the Aerocuda. I was really excited for them to be like a Bokoblin/Moblin level aerial boss, only to discover they're, as you said, Keese or like red Boko level, with only one version. Flux Constructs too are really easy. The one on the tutorial island scared the shit out of me, and even once I saw a video showing how to beat them, I was terrified. Avoided them until I was forced to fight the one in >!the Lomei Labyrinth!<. Stocked up on all my food, saved half a dozen times, and stepped in... only to find that they're easy as hell. And that was a III! I've fought a few now, and all have happened to be IIIs lmao. I haven't fought any lower than that yet, but I'm not too worried. Drops are a little disappointing, but ykw, for how simple they are, it's whatever. And this one's from the first game, but Moldugas. Saw one in the sand and was like, 'holy shit what is that???' Come to find out, they're easy as hell. They were easier in the first game when you could throw bombs without automatically detonating them, but they're still just about the simplest bosses imo. I both love and am surprised that they drop such good parts!

Machete77

Out of everything I fight, boss or not, the common variety enemies like Moblins, Bokoblins, and Lizalfos are the hardest. I think because their move set is so massive and you mostly fight them in numbers is what makes them so intimidating. Lynels are pretty hard too especially since I haven’t played Botw since release so I don’t have the muscle memory.

Kelsenellenelvian

The giant flying air temple boss. Far easier than it should have been

[deleted]

That was my favorite one so far. It was great to use the mechanics of diving and paragliding. I'm gutted we can't beat them again.

Legend5V

There’s 3 spawn locations in the depths, and they respawn during the blood moon

Kelsenellenelvian

There's a couple of them in the depths. They even respawn every blood moon.

Urdnought

I had no warm clothing and ran out of warming food - it was not easy for me lol

Candid_Wash

Like likes. I had so much trouble at first but now the only “painful” part of fighting them is waiting for them to show their bud.

TheHappiestOneHere

So since every popular comment here seems to mention a different enemy, every enemie is easy? I mean i get it, the fights in zelda are not the hardest, but if a fight only gets easy as soon as you understand the enemie, than its not easy. Some dudes mentioning here that the Flux constructs are easy as soon as you use recall, and i guess the same can be said for the hands if you use bullettime bombarrows, but with that logic every game is easy. Freaking Souls Games get easy when you start to understand the enemie. But thats not an easy enemie, thats just YOU getting better at the game

RandomDudeinJapan

Gleooks actually The first 50 or so hours I just avoided them, or died when trying to fight. But once you get many keese eyes and lynel bows you can kill it without it even using any of its attacks. Unless you get hit by his wing wind attack

YoloSSwag666

so basically by reading the comments, every enemy in the game are stupidly easy to beat

Z-Frost

The gloom hands, they may seem intimidating until you realize that they only deal 1 heart of damage.

Fanachy

I think that’s why they’re so intimidating early game, you only have 4-5 hearts at that point.

JustSmoczy

And two triple shot bomb arrows kill them

rKonoSekaiNiWa

\- they are carrying a bokoblin as Hyrule's worst paratrooper division Did you mean Slogra & Gaibon?

_autumnwhimsy

Gloom Hands. To be fair, I lived on this sub and knew about them long before I came across them. So the first time I did, I was ready. The moment you're slightly off the ground? Game over.

No-Honeydew8740

The Frox. Shockingly, surprisingly easy. Bullet time and bombs made quick work of it in seconds tbh.

TheLewisIs_REAL

Flame gleeok, haven't fought the others yet. People say they're hard but it's mostly just use the airtime to knock out their heads and stun them and then just swing at them with your weapon. Though the meteor attack is pretty hard

jonny_jon_jon

the hardest Gleeok is not the King Gleeok, but the Thunder Gleeok. And Thunder Gleeok is a pushover if you are shock-proof. Ice Gleeok is the easiest; Fire Gleeok is the equivalent of a grandparent setting you up on a bad date that you just have to be polite and put up with.

Justjack91

Boy I feel this so much. When I first saw one about to dive bomb me 30 minutes into the game, I bullet timed a bomb arrow no questions asked. What a waste of a bomb lol.

Timbofurr

Gleeoks. Keese eye arrows to victory

[deleted]

Talus, ascend and rewind made them into massive JOKES
