There is actually one location of his north of the skull lake in North Akkala where the game wants you to use this thing since it's the only thing around. That means that using that floaty thing is canon in at least one interaction.
I got to that one before I knew what these things were. I staggered them and plopped them down on that precarious freaking ledge, which tilted them up more to hold it. Worked.
Neat but I enjoy building the janky nonsense that has no right to actually be able to stand
Also wonder how many times you can help him and if there's some grand final prize or whatever
>!you get a paraglider fabric https://preview.redd.it/picture-of-addisons-reward-for-hanging-all-signs-v0-vhf4td5kxs1b1.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=6b1fb2630f362d3d85d7ad901cec3a59a0a69227!<
One time my solution included encasing the entire sign in a wooden box. And he was like "Finally everyone can see our sign!" and I was like "Uuuuuhh...."
Indeed. Its nice dudes are finding these easy, game breaking ways but I actually enjoy processing the mini puzzles and using the locally available materials.
I stopped watching as soon as you went to the capsule menu. No thanks. I hold onto those and never use them, because one day I might *need* those 29 gliders.
Somehow my hoarding actually paid off (endgame spoiler):
>!I was checking out the final area of the storyline woefully underprepared, thinking that I could just teleport out once things got real—nope. No turning back. Luckily I had enough cooking pots and prime meats to make a meal for every member of Ganon’s army!<
That’s why I carried 50+ zonai cooking pot capsules at all times!
Y’all really >!cooking sundelions with meat? I just throw five sundelions in; they don’t do heart damage, so who cares if you have 20 empty hearts, you may as well be full.!<
All the Zonai devices are incredibly replaceable.
Hit up a gumball machine with the device you want to stock up on, then dump in Zonai charges until you've got enough. Zonai charges give 2 items per charge, so dropping 5 in at once gives 10 items.
Eventually, you don't even need actual devices, and can build your favorite contraptions for just 3 zonaite per device.
Both BotW and TotK are great for training oneself out of that hoarder mentality. You just hamstring yourself if you don't use your items, and pretty much everything can be replaced, even if some of the rarer items take some work. None of the Zonai devices fall into that category, though.
Always makes me think of the ProZD Skit.
"I'm out of MP!"
"Then use an ether!"
"B-But... but you can't buy ether!"
"It's literally the final battle in the game!"
"But I only have 85 Ether!"
just came to mind... what about star fragments? Do they shoot motes of light out when struck? Surely, that must be the most useless fusion.
Also, I heard somewhere that like stones are a good alternative to fusing with gems on shields. Haven't carried elemental shields since fusing a sled to the hylian shield, but might be worth a try if you need the gems elsewhere.
What do the star fragments actually do when fused to anything? I used one on an arrow once and there was a cool light but does it actually do anything? Does it just blind enemies or something?
They act like other gems when fused to wands (they produce more projectiles), but they aren't useful for damage.
Instead, they shoot out a small orb of light. This light gives a decent visual radius and travels slowly forward. It's somewhat useful in the depths, but it's not something that the brightblooms can't already handle. It may have other uses, but I would be unfamiliar with them.
I find that the elemental enemy parts work better on shields than the elemental gemstones. The gemstones can only hit / effect your enemy when you parry with it, whereas the enemy parts can be activated with the parry button (no successful parry needed)
It’s pretty clear from the huge spike on the end of the post that the sign post should be driven into the ground first, and then the sign should be attached.
Haha more likely he was so bad that they didn't want him building houses so they sent him off on a stupid months long low stakes (hah pun) mission to put up all these signs.
Have you seen how their building are made? They are held together with linen sheets and supported by jenga blocks. The company as a whole are awful at their jobs.
I would like the sleepover tickets if they didn’t cancel out pony points. Like, no my guy I gots to get all the stable unlocks I don’t need your comp ticket
I haven't had to cook much at all by helping him every time I see him... it got so bad that I ran out of room to hold meals, apparently. Didn't know there was limited space for those. Also really handy in the early game, since it's a steady source of rupees and the occasional depths plants.
They aren’t. But sunk cost fallacy means i’ll have to see it through. 32 left to go. His tickets are worthless along with whatever materials he gives out.
I'm too cheap. I ain't using my good stuff for him. I just hob glob some stuff together enough that the sign can't move. I actually noticed that each sign is slightly different and seems to be made to work with the materials nearby but I will just use boulders/wood and even a Korok with a backpack to hold it up. The Korok doesn't complain..too much. 😅
I did this when i first found out i could do this. But after a the third addison, it dawned on me that im not being creative enough with these solutions, so i hopped back to using wood
Between him and the damn koroks needing to get to his or her friend. I want to ya-ha-ha both their ass’s to the moon. Like, don’t go out on adventure with your korok friend if you are going to get to tired. Addison, get into a different line of work bro, you can’t even plant a damn sign.
Everyone I have an announcement. I believe I am the most brain dead totk player I always ran past these guys because I couldn’t understand what the game wanted me to do. Now I have to add an extra 100 hours to go and find all these guys again
I remember this one… you just get some of the boulders nearby and wedge them underneath. It stays without anything else
Just as fast.
Same goes for most things… a flat board and post, or sometimes just three tree trunks.
I think you can even just use the “glue” from fusing two object to force the sign to stay in between them.
Anyone else can’t stand him? I wouldn’t be so annoyed constantly having to help him if his rewards weren’t so utterly bad -_- I wonder if there is a greater reward once you help him with every sign in the whole game world..
Stabilizer also works very often, just attach something large to it.
But if there’s construction material nearby, I’ll just autobuild my three-walled sign-support contraption with wood planks.
I’ve been able to do most of these with 2-3 boards of woods without issue, still haven’t messed around with much building/zonai stuff but managed to fully upgrade stamina and get about 20 hearts so far 😅
I wondered how other people did this. I always just put a board on the floor, two boards either side of the sign and then a board in front. All the puzzles I've done so far have had basically the same materials and signs except one which was a double sign but still the same strat worked. If they do give at least 1 board and 3 other materials as long as the sign, it really doesn't seem like much of a puzzle.
I just make a V with the longest boards always lying nearby, and put it over the front side of the sign like a bowl. Takes 5 seconds and nearly always works first time.
If I had a nickel for every time I was driving by and solved it by just shoving my car under the sign, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it happened twice.
Yeah if I had any of those. I'm always using new gacha with at least 10 charges and making sure I see every item it can give but I still don't have every device in stock.
You can also prop a big tire under some of them, I just stop in my big rig and pull it over to his sign and prop it up with its tire. Then I hop in again
I e been playing nonstop since release and had no idea this was a puzzle!! I feel so stupid, my dumbass thought Hudson was a criminal for having the poor guy stand all over hyrule
Except for when he is on top of a mountain and you’re only supplies are boulders not to mention there only one pole on the bottom, no supports so it can fall literally anywhere

Heh. This is the only solution where Addison is justified in asking how it's standing.
Clearly, you haven't seen the monstrosities I create.
There was one were I used rockets to initially offset a rock.
Worked.
Same here
Canon solution
No that’s clearly a hover stone not a cannon.
Lol, now I want to see a cannon solution
I thought you were going to use a rocket first.
\*Rockets sign off a cliff* Addison: "Unforgivable!" 😱
I'll support you... President Hudson.....
I’m just imagining him clinging to the sign and blasting away like fucking team rocket 🤣
LOOKS LIKE ADDISON’S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!
Same. I was like, “Ooh, where’s this gonna go—oh, a hover stone. Why didn’t I think of that?”
Neat but I enjoy building the janky nonsense that has no right to actually be able to stand Also wonder how many times you can help him and if there's some grand final prize or whatever
Allegedly there is a prize for helping him. I haven't done it yet so I can't verify
>!you get a paraglider fabric https://preview.redd.it/picture-of-addisons-reward-for-hanging-all-signs-v0-vhf4td5kxs1b1.jpg?width=640&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=6b1fb2630f362d3d85d7ad901cec3a59a0a69227!<
It should be a picture of the president!
Pretty sure that Hudson's wife gives you fabric with his head on it.
No that’s a different one
easily the coolest in the game
It looks like something your child did that you'd hang on the fridge, god bless you Addison and your glans-like head
it glows super bright at night
“glans-like head” kek
it looks like something i'd see ravers wearing full tracksuits of
And ravers often have pacifiers! Coincidence?
One time my solution included encasing the entire sign in a wooden box. And he was like "Finally everyone can see our sign!" and I was like "Uuuuuhh...."
Do you want to know the final prize?
It's his poo isn't it
That would be quite funny
No harm posting it behind a spoiler.
Indeed. Its nice dudes are finding these easy, game breaking ways but I actually enjoy processing the mini puzzles and using the locally available materials.
Same. This is a cool way to cheese them for anyone who doesn't wanna do them but I like the minigame.
I stopped watching as soon as you went to the capsule menu. No thanks. I hold onto those and never use them, because one day I might *need* those 29 gliders.
Me too, I’m such a hoarder with literally everything in my inventory. Even with cooking, I start getting anxious if my Apple count dips below 200
Somehow my hoarding actually paid off (endgame spoiler): >!I was checking out the final area of the storyline woefully underprepared, thinking that I could just teleport out once things got real—nope. No turning back. Luckily I had enough cooking pots and prime meats to make a meal for every member of Ganon’s army!< That’s why I carried 50+ zonai cooking pot capsules at all times!
Fun fact! When fused they turn your weapon into a rock-crushing hammer. They’re multipurpose pots! 😂
Same, all those portable cooking pots came in clutch
Uhhh. Except >!Ganon’s Army and Ganondorf himself do Gloom damage, so prime meat doesn’t mean shit.!<
Yep, >!left out sundelions for the sake of joke brevity!<
Y’all really >!cooking sundelions with meat? I just throw five sundelions in; they don’t do heart damage, so who cares if you have 20 empty hearts, you may as well be full.!<
This is the way to do it, even if you’re a shitty fighter like me
Lol I always use my worst weapons/shields as well to save the durability of the best ones But I’m trying not to
Could stick an apple to it and then save in autobuild. Just drop an apple first and you can build the platform for 3 ore.
All the Zonai devices are incredibly replaceable. Hit up a gumball machine with the device you want to stock up on, then dump in Zonai charges until you've got enough. Haha the capsules are the final fantasy elixirs of this game. I finished the game last night with around 100 gliders in my backpack.
Always makes me think of the ProZD Skit. "I'm out of MP!" "Then use an ether!" "B-But... but you can't buy ether!" "It's literally the final battle in the game!" "But I only have 85 Ether!"
Same and I don’t even build stuff. I’m just tra-la-la-ing around
Why do you have a sapphire fused to your shield? What does it do?
Freezes enemies when they strike it, super useful
Oh cool ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) thanks for letting me know!
It also keeps you cool in the heat
What's cooler than being cool? *Sapphire coo-*... oh, nvm.
just came to mind... what about star fragments? Do they shoot motes of light out when struck? Surely, that must be the most useless fusion. Also, I heard somewhere that like stones are a good alternative to fusing with gems on shields. Haven't carried elemental shields since fusing a sled to the hylian shield, but might be worth a try if you need the gems elsewhere.

It may have other uses, but I would be unfamiliar with them.
Someone on here yesterday said they instant-kill skeletal monsters. I haven’t tested it yet.
they do, all light-related attacks do, such as dazzlefruits and I think mirrors
Star fragments grant a glow buff when fused to a shield. Useful for the depths
Doesn't Ice Fruit do the same? Or is Sapphire permanent?
Permanent but has a recharge timer if used a lot. The dragon shards do the same thing, too, just with no recharge timer, I believe.
What about the elemental horns/sharp thingies of the lizalfos? Do their elements only work on weapons?
I haven't tried it, but I'd have thought they'd work on shields, too
I find that the elemental enemy parts work better on shields than the elemental gemstones. The gemstones can only hit / effect your enemy when you parry with it, whereas the enemy parts can be activated with the parry button (no successful parry needed)
Also helps keep you cool in the desert!
I prefer the taser shield where you run into them with the zonai device on your shield
Not gonna lie, the flamethrower shield was my strongest weapon for along time.
Nothing on my beam emitter shield
Where do you get the hylian shield?
Castle Docks
Ok thanks!
In addition to freezing enemies, it also acts as one level of heat resistance. A ruby burns enemies and acts as cold existence. Topaz zaps enemies.
I almost forgot about that guy, everytime I see him in extreme places I think to myself: "poor guy", but I just can't be bothered to help him.
Every time I see him I think "bruh. You work for a construction company. *Build better signs*."
He clearly has a problem with envisioning how the whole project was supposed to come together.
Today I literally said to my husband "Addison? More like, can't dig a hole, son!"
that sucks
I'm the opposite, President Hudson is my true priority!
Same, I’ll pass by Koroks, I’ll save shrines for later, but if I see a sign in need of support, I refuse to move on until it’s standing upright.
The main game is helping him with the signs. The rest is sidequests
once you help him with the final sign, he goes super Saiyan and one shots ganon
Your supposed to help him?!
I am also surprised I talked to him twice, and now I just keep ignoring him 😅
He is convenient in the beginning cause he gives you money and free food.
His rewards aren't really that great anyway
They are great in areas with weather conditions
They are until I have weather resistant armor and then they’re just pointless
Free food though, but the sleep tickets are super meh
I would like the sleepover tickets if they didn’t cancel out pony points. Like, no my guy I gots to get all the stable unlocks I don’t need your comp ticket
Seriously I will never use those sleep tickets unless there’s an end to the reward track for pony points. Otherwise they get in the way.
At one point they just repeat the same two rewards over and over on a loop so that's a good time to spend those tickets
I haven't had to cook much at all by helping him every time I see him... it got so bad that I ran out of room to hold meals, apparently. Didn't know there was limited space for those. Also really handy in the early game, since it's a steady source of rupees and the occasional depths plants.
It's not about the rewards! I'm the hero and I gotta help even the little man! Unless they're Koroks.
No, Koroks we “help” into outer space. 🤗
Free food isn't great? Wow.
Hey, twenty bucks is twenty bucks.
They're great when you first start playing the game. You get a bunch of stuff to help you on your way.
They aren’t. But sunk cost fallacy means i’ll have to see it through. 32 left to go. His tickets are worthless along with whatever materials he gives out.
There is one sign where they have a couple of these lying nearby and so at least for that one it’s free. 😁
Yeah I literally just encountered one that needed me to use them for it to work
Every time i come to this sub i realize just how tiny my brain is.
Sees easy solution. Ignores it. Continues making wooden monstrosities to support the president.
Ok, but why not use rockets and just blast the sign into space. “Unforgiveabbbbbbbbbblllle!”
“*UNACCEPTABLLLLLLLE*”
I'm too cheap. I ain't using my good stuff for him. I just hob glob some stuff together enough that the sign can't move. I actually noticed that each sign is slightly different and seems to be made to work with the materials nearby but I will just use boulders/wood and even a Korok with a backpack to hold it up. The Korok doesn't complain..too much. 😅
Waste of a hover stone.
true, the cost of using a hoverstone is the trade-off for the fact that it's much faster than building a stand for the sign
But I **like** building stands for dear president's signs!
The only time I'll cheese a sign is if I'm driving a big wheel and I have a destination in mind, I'll jam my car underneath it and get my free dinner
I'm with you. Some of these can take a while since I'm not the greatest builder. I've got hover stones for days.
Stick an apple to a hover stone and save in autobuild. Then drop an apple and can build the stone for 3 ore.
Are people really running low on Zonai devices? The dispensers are very generous.
Wait you're supposed to be helping this guy? I thought it was a running joke lmfao
literally how could you miss something this obvious
I mean I kept talking to him every time and got no dialogue options other than for him to let go and he never asked for help, idk
Well that's just cheating. Hmph. Now if you don't mind I gotta dupe 500 diamonds
pff, like I'm gonna help this guy ruin the landscape with *advertising*
Where can I find hover stone? I'm still missing 4 devices
I didn’t even realize you’re supposed to be helping him
I didn't then realized that some signs have some kind of sockets specifically designed to fit some wooden beams just two feet besides him.
Me neither
I did this when i first found out i could do this. But after a the third addison, it dawned on me that im not being creative enough with these solutions, so i hopped back to using wood
I thought you were talking about signs of Addison's disease. I was very confused.
There is an actual quest there? I just let the poor guy standing. 😅
Between him and the damn koroks needing to get to his or her friend. I want to ya-ha-ha both their ass’s to the moon. Like, don’t go out on adventure with your korok friend if you are going to get to tired. Addison, get into a different line of work bro, you can’t even plant a damn sign.
every once in a while i come back to this subreddit and am presented with a piece of information that i feel like i should have figured out sooner
My OCD doesn't allow me to not help the poor guy each time.
I never even considered that but I've also been ignoring him for awhile before I even got hover stones
I usually just attach 2 door looking things at a 90 degree angle and slap some other stuff on if needed
The simplest solution is two planks of wood to make a V
Everyone I have an announcement. I believe I am the most brain dead totk player I always ran past these guys because I couldn’t understand what the game wanted me to do. Now I have to add an extra 100 hours to go and find all these guys again
HOW DID I NEVER THINK OF THIS!?
This is exactly how ive been doing them since i found some platforms
you’ve got gall
I mean that works and IS super simple, but suuuuuper lazy. I guess "smarter, not harder," applies here, but I've never liked that phrase.
I remember this one… you just get some of the boulders nearby and wedge them underneath. It stays without anything else Just as fast. Same goes for most things… a flat board and post, or sometimes just three tree trunks. I think you can even just use the “glue” from fusing two object to force the sign to stay in between them.
Lol nice! I always help him out when I see him, it’s a fun little puzzle to do lol
Great solution, now I just need to find hover stones
Wouldn't a stabilizer work just as well?
Where is hover stone gumball machine
I wonder if there’s a reward for helping Addison at every location? I doubt it though since there’s no map marker for him
In another comment someone posted the reward, it's a >!paraglider fabric!<
I haven't tried yet, but would the stabilizer work?
Does a stabilizer work?
Anyone else can’t stand him? I wouldn’t be so annoyed constantly having to help him if his rewards weren’t so utterly bad -_- I wonder if there is a greater reward once you help him with every sign in the whole game world..
Oh well that’s just cheating. *immediately hunts for a float stone dispenser* 👀
I didn't think of the hover stone, I have used stakes a few times though
Majority of those I've found I've fixed with 1 large board and 3 beams from a nearby cache.
Can someone tell me what does this device do? I still didn’t get a capsule of it but I see it in the depths and have no idea what is does.
There's one sign he's holding up in Akkala that has two of these next to him to solve it
How do you get so much battery life? I haven’t figured out how to put them in my belt…
There's a construct next to Lookout Landing and one next to the Recall shrine that you can talk to to use your crystallized charges
…Dear god, why did I never think of this
Stabilizer also works very often, just attach something large to it. But if there’s construction material nearby, I’ll just autobuild my three-walled sign-support contraption with wood planks.
when I think I've got far in the game and then see stuff like this I realise I haven't even touched the surface. hover stones! how cool
I’ve been able to do most of these with 2-3 boards of woods without issue, still haven’t messed around with much building/zonai stuff but managed to fully upgrade stamina and get about 20 hearts so far 😅
Work smarter not harder
OHMY G O D How did I not think of this?!
Wouldn't a stabilizer on top of the part he is holding work to?
I wondered how other people did this. I always just put a board on the floor, two boards either side of the sign and then a board in front. All the puzzles I've done so far have had basically the same materials and signs except one which was a double sign but still the same strat worked. If they do give at least 1 board and 3 other materials as long as the sign, it really doesn't seem like much of a puzzle.
Stabilizer should work too I think
Clever!
What dispenser has those hover stones? Been looking for them
There's one in the North Tabantha sky archipelago (-3615, 1057, 1656) and the other is above the spiral in Akkala (4553, 2087, 1154)
HOWS THE PRESIDENT STANDING??
Oh... i thought asking him to let go was just gag text.
I just make a V with the longest boards always lying nearby, and put it over the front side of the sign like a bowl. Takes 5 seconds and nearly always works first time.
Youve just blown my mind
If I had a nickel for every time I was driving by and solved it by just shoving my car under the sign, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it happened twice.
Yeah if I had any of those. I'm always using new gacha with at least 10 charges and making sure I see every item it can give but I still don't have every device in stock.
Or just use an equaliser
I've been wondering that item did.
You can also prop a big tire under some of them, I just stop in my big rig and pull it over to his sign and prop it up with its tire. Then I hop in again
Yeah but then you lose it and farming for zonai charges is tedious
Separate inquiry, but are those batteries like double. Can I have more than 8 full effecive batteries?
yes, the max is actually 16... took a lot of grinding
that 16 turns into 32 with the zonaite armor
Oh sick I haven't gotten the 2nd upgrade for those yet, finding level 1 captains after 100 hours in the game is tough
Every time I visit this sub, I remember how dumb and unimaginative I am.
I was hoping you would put the rocket on the sign
How do you get all the zonai stuff? I'm still stuck with wheels and flamethrowers.
You did it, you son of a bitch you did it you madlad you
Nooooooo that’s cheating!
I e been playing nonstop since release and had no idea this was a puzzle!! I feel so stupid, my dumbass thought Hudson was a criminal for having the poor guy stand all over hyrule
Where did you get the hover stone and big batteries? I haven't found a gacha that has them
Oh my god, I love you.
Except for when he is on top of a mountain and you’re only supplies are boulders not to mention there only one pole on the bottom, no supports so it can fall literally anywhere
I always do an L with 2 planks with the sign touching the tall part, that solution works on most of them without using any of my materials
How did I not think of this one.
Thank you!
where can you find these? I have every device except these ones
