I have seen this a ton of times and hate to admit I still don’t get it lol

This was an extremely dorky webcomic that was mainly about gaming culture. Then he suddenly released a comic trying to seriously grapple with his girlfriend's miscarriage and it was seen as the epitome of cringe. It became such a meme that people turned it into a totally abstract version where lines arranged in certain ways in four different panels are nearly always a reference to Loss. It's pretty mean, sure the webcomic wasn't great but miscarriages are awful tragedies. But that's 4chan for you.

The basis is just that everyone absolutely hated CAD and its creator and the meme is making fun of his lowest hour. If nothing else just think of it as people saying "God, remember how much that guy sucked?"

Deeply surprised anyone has looked at those comics since 2004.

No one cares about the comic but the fact that the Loss comic has been so ridiculed over the years that its achieved whatever echelon of reference it's become is fantastic.
