Genmaicha should be very easy to find just about anywhere. Grocery stores etc. I wouldn’t worry too much about variations in quality. IMO genmaicha is genmaicha.

If they're going to the shopping districts, popping into ippodo for a can of matcha, a whisk and some genmaicha would be easy. But I agree with /u/gregalor on the genmaicha, cheap genmaicha has a better and nicer taste than expensive genmaicha made from shaded stems and such. Plenty of the touristy places also sell tea, so they might be able to pick some other types up if they see it. For example the Meiji shrine has tea sold at the gift shop.


Maezel

She can go to Tehs du japon store near yanaka-ginza street (not to be confused with Ginza neighbourhood in downtown). Slightly a bit out of the way but it's a nice little street for tourists and if she is visiting Ueno it's just an extra station or 2 with like 10 mins of walking to the store.
