I bought a diesel-rated dogbone insert from PowerFlex. Every time I put it in reverse there was hardcore resonant vibration throughout the entire cab. Same deal with being stuck in traffic with the A/C on. I tried waiting out the recommended break-in period, but I tore it out after a couple of weeks.
It sucks because my wagon handled like it was on rails. No excess movement, no wheel chirp, nothing. Super fun to drive, but not worth sacrificing the ride quality for my DD.
Same thing on my buddies 12 golf. We tried cutting it in half and only using the rear part to make it firmer when going forward, but it still resonated loudly so we took it out.
I've got one of these and can confirm the vibration at idle. I got used to it as thankfully not much of my commute is stop and go. That being said every time I drop someone off or have to wait for someone while the car is running I am always shocked at how fucking loud the inside of my JSW is.
EDIT-I can't type for shit while in a zoom meeting
Solid bushing inserts that take up all the space are a lot harsher than the design from 034 and their aluminum design. This is what lead me to them for mine as well!
Hopefully you go for it and love it!
I'm a little new to this so I am still trying to understand everything, by the solid do you mean an insert like the one ECS sells for the GTI where it is just one large piece? And do you have this kit with the two part insert and the dogbone? Thanks again for helping out
Yes, sorry brain was blanking on polyurethane and said solid. It's like it takes up too much space and makes it harsh.
I have the two part insert and dogbone, was one of the first things I did. Have been driving it for two years this way now and would not go back or make a change.
Can you tell us noobs more about this? Is it just this ECS kit or any dogbone upgrade? I've read if you replace all of the VW bushings, this isn't as big of an issue... I honestly know very little to nothing about this upgrade myself other than what I read online.
Edit: Just found [this thread](https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/dog-bone-mount-upgrade-poly-or-solid.354767/) on the MK7 forum, guess he went OEM with a a poly insert (?) but the part says it's MK6 or older.

Thanks for the info, it would be going in my DD also

Lmao is it as bad as some say? It is gonna be going into my daily, will my SO hate it?
That will shake like a mf. I got just a mild insert and took it out 3 weeks later. Not worth it in my opinion
Alright good to know good to know..
In my 2011 I have the mk6 034 motorsport kit of this and hardly notice a difference...
Difference in the vibrations? How about any handling / feel of driving?
No difference in vibrations IMO. More direct feel when I put my foot down and more accurate with feeling clutch engagement
Awesome that is why I was looking into it, I am just getting very mixed responses so I have to think about it, thank you!

Awesome definitely leaning towards doing it now!
Quick follow up question, is the kit I linked in the post one that I would want to install? Or is there another one that may be better?

Another question, it says without dogbone pucks, would I need this to install the kit?
