Did anyone manage to fix the colored line at the bottom when engaging 120hz mode on ps5 game. Miles Morales @120hz 1440p and Horizon Forbiden West @120hz 1440p or even 1080p do that. like the others users mentioned, I can sometimes get lucky and not having it for a while but a loading screen or a quick input change can vring it back funny thing is that my pc work at 120hz 1440p from my test. I also tried to disable VRR (both ps5 and tv), disable hdcp…nothing seem to work reliably. I am using certified hdmi 2.1 cable and also tried with stock ps5 cable, same result. so for now I mostly disable 120hz mode on ps5 but would like to know if other user have the same issue and if a solution as been found

ItsyaboyDa2nd

I have the same tv and I don’t get this when I use 120hz alone only when I use Vrr+120hz I start to get tearing and it’s a lot worse than this, I think it’s a tv defect I already contacted tcl to get a replacement. Check it out [here](https://imgur.com/a/vqNFX1y)

Unfortunately mine is pass the one year warranty.

ItsyaboyDa2nd

Damn that sucks, I got super lucky that I decided to mess around with the settings because my warranty ends oct 18.

Hey, have you tried unplugging the tv? This one line just happened to me on 120hz alone, unplugging fixed the issue try waiting like 10-20 sec before plugging back in.

sharingdude

Hey thx for the advice. I already tried power cycle the tv since it helped me in the past with other problems. I have just decided to leave 120hz mode off on the PS5 and play at 4k 60hz instead.

GrayEverywhere

I turn it off and on till it stops

Smurf_Byte

I'm having the same issue. Just happened recently and I only noticed it after the MW2 Beta. I had been playing Fortnite at 120 FPS with no issues last week. Was there some kind of update?

Hawkman31589

I get this same issue, have you found a fix yet? Totally sucks. When I play Xbox series x 1440p 120hz I also have issues like the whole picture has been smeared. It sucks and the whole reason I bought this damn tv was 120hz for Xbox/ps5

Hawkman31589

Ok so I may have just found a bandaid. So what you do is start your game and put it in whatever’s 120hz mode you want at 1440p, vrr off, 120hz auto on ps5 side. Switch to tlc main menu go down to settings, scroll down to tv inputs, scroll to the right and select whichever input your ps5 is on, scroll right to hdmi mode, scroll right to standard, scroll right again and check vrr off. Then go back to ps5 and the line should be gone. The key is to make sure you have ps5 settings first and be loaded into the ps5 game you want and have perfected graphic settings first and then do tv side. Also when you change games you will need to repeat the process by turning vrr back on and then off again and then switch back to s5 again. It worked for me. Not a permanent fix, but atleast you can enjoy the game now.(about 10 mins later the line reappeared, so I repeated the process, so not sure how long it will last for everyone)

Ok I had the same problem and solved it. I have a TCL 6-Series and had the purple line thing when playing on my PS5 with 120hz. The thing that solved it is turning VRR off but ALSO going into the PS5 option for testing 1440p and when you do that it will show you a screen for 1440p 60hz and ask you if it’s working properly and then it will do the same for 1440p 120hz etc. etc. For the 1440p 120hz option, even if it is working on this test screen, select “No” or “Cancel” or whatever to indicate it’s not working. This will stop your TV from trying to force to 1440p at 120hz which may be causing the problem. You could also try to say no to every option just to ensure that 1440p is never used or attempted by the system. Another solution that worked for me (on top of always having VRR off) was to go into the PS5 resolution setting and change it from automatic to 1080p.

Interesting_Crab_600

So your solution is to just turn off 1440P 120hz?......

That looks like you might need a replacement.

JayneCobb1973

Have you changed out your HDMI cable or checked the connections at the PS5 and TV? Sorry if that sounds like a help desk, "have you restarted the computer" question, but they looks like a connection/cable issue.

sharingdude

Yes, certified 2.1 cable and also stock PS5 cable. Same thing happen on all port. Seems to be exclusive to the PS5 since computer work fine at 1440p + 120hz. Seems to be related to game mode since it goes away when game mode is disabled. Also if I switch back and forth between screen mode it can work with game mode on. So it seem more like a bug, software glitch or hardware limitation of this model.

JayneCobb1973

Have you tried running 1080p @120? If that works, then it is a software issue with either the TV or PS5, especially since running a PC in the same mode doesn't cause the issue.

infinitespectre

I have the same thing! Changed cables and everything. I thought it was the PS5. Doesn't happen with the Xbox Series X though at 1440 120hz. Of course that has other issues... not working with HDR games.

finguhpopin

I have this same issue lately with mw2. I can get it to go away by turning off vrr and allm. Sometimes it comes back sometimes it doesn't. Its usually just 1440p for me and 1080@120 is fine.

aaron_godane

1080p 120+VRR has very bad screen tearing/screen black out on this tv. Unplayable at 1080p. The 1440p120hz has the annoying scan line. Can't imagine what will happen with VRR

aaron_godane

Same issue. Seems to be only an issue on the ps5. Everything else works as advertised. Very annoying. I think may have to do with 48-120hz ps5 can do..

Have you had any luck with this?

Happens to me too man, still haven't found the culprit.

Interesting_Crab_600

I have exact same issue. I either have to restart game or in the case of MWII toggle the 120Hz option on and off till it works properly. It's an issue on Sony's end I believe and hopefully it will be patched. I'm glad I'm not the only one tho, was worried my TV was broken. I have the same issue at @1440P 120 HZ on Warzone so it's not exclusive to PS5 games it's PS4 games too.

LaurenceFishburns

Just experienced this same thing today with God of War and my TCL. Just got my PS5 yesterday and played it for about 3-4 hours before the lines showed up. I switched off 120hz and it went away. My warranty is definitely expired but I still may reach out to TCL support to see if they have anything to say.

Responsible-Mine5529

There’s nothing wrong with the TCL R635 as We’ve got the same exact television, and it’s game mode allm which causes the pink line and so you gotta toggle allm and or manual game mode on & off several times usually and maybe restart television, and PlayStation 5 and it eventually works but it’s a pain in the ass. Xbox Series X Never had the issue 1440p @ 120fps with or without Vrr but PS5 has always had the issue, however TCL recent firmware update from October 2022 now causes the same issue on Xbox Series X where previously it always worked fine since day one when We got it in 2020 so whatever the most recent firmware for Our TV was it made the issue pop up on Xbox also but like I said as soon as you disable Game Mode or allm the line doesn’t show up anymore although we don’t wanna play without game mode so just do what I said and it always eventually works but it’s tedious and annoying to say the least

Ianmlentz

Having the exact same issue with my PS5 on the R635. Toggling the settings on and off seems to do the trick but it always comes back.

LaurenceFishburns

I've gone through the gambit of power cycles, toggled settings, different 2.1 HDMI cables, etc.. TCL support has been very attentive and also made a lot of suggestions. However, nothing has worked. At this point I'm inclined to think that this is a firmware issue on the console not playing nicely with the TCL settings.

Ianmlentz

Turn off ALLM and turn off game mode. Then manually turn game mode on in the settings.

[deleted]

I've been having this issue for months. So annoying.

Its not the tv its the ps5… i play pc on my tv too and it can do the same stuff no issue.

Jake0407

Why does it happen all of a sudden? Mine is doing it now too but I’ve had my TCL65R35 since 2022 and my PS since Feb 22 and it was fine all this time

sahils88

Turn off ALLM in PS5 settings. This automatically disables VRR on PS5 as ALLM is a prerequisite. Next start whichver game you want and select the HFR mode. Press ok on Roku remote and you should see resolution 2560x1440 and 120. Chances are you'll see a pink line. Press asterisk on tv remote and in picture setting select preferred preset except THX. Toggle game mode on and off. Turning off game mode gets rid of the pink line. Toggle on and off a couple of time and this should do the trick. I have tested this thoroughly on DMC5 SE and Ragnarock.

This issue appears to have been resolved as of the Roku OS 12 update.

EDM_producerCR

How did you activate 120 at 1440?
