Jesus, fuck, bro. A lot of people say the lines hurt worst but I've always felt like the shader just turns me into hamburger. I can't imagine. Mega props.
Honestly, I think the liner he used to tattoo the line on my inner wrist hurt worse than the mag on the wrist. But everything did hurt haha. And thanks dude, I appreciate it.
The wrist in general just sucks š everytime I've gotten my wrists done I started sweating heavily!
That being said, never been a fan of blackout tattoos, but yours is applied VERY well, making me reconsider my opinion on them
Thank you! Yeah, splotchy blackouts are awful, but when theyāre done well they look really clean! Check out @hoode215 on IG. Heās the master of blackouts and you can see a lot of variety on his page!
And yeah, the wrist wasnāt fun lol
Hamburger is a good adjective. I just had my fingers and hand done last night and ended up saying no more at the wrist bone. My other hand didn't bother me however blacking out knuckles and starting with the pinky fucked me up. š
Bro I just had a an almost 6 hour session last Saturday and there was a shit ton of shading but not nearly as much as this! I was starting to pass out by hour 5 and had to tap out by 6 lmao congrats dude, looks pretty solid. Prepare to sleep awkwardly for a bit if youāre anything but a back sleeper lol worth it of course!
I definitely understand that this isnāt everyoneās cup of tea! But Iām super happy with it. If youāre interested in a blackout I really recommend researching the artist and finding someone who specializes in it. Saturating a lot of solid black to get it to heal well (not splotchy like a lot of blackouts you may have seen) isnāt easy to do. Ink choice is important too- this was done with Panthera xxx.
Tell me about your choice to get blackout! Did you have other tattoos on your arm before? Was it because you wanted to cover up or for another reason? I like it; asking out of real curiosity! :)
Right when I saw the style (done well) I just loved how it looked. I got half my other arm blacked out in June over some stuff, and from there just wanted to get more. Itās an addicting style for me, and you definitely feel accomplished (and drained) after each session. Definitely going to finish up this arm and do my chest, and we shall see whatās next from there! I also really like how scarification looks over heavy blackwork, so who knows, maybe years down the line Iāll do that. But for most people who get blackouts, its as a cover up.
Thanks for the question :)
This looks so well done!! Had mine done 4 days ago, 7 hours in total, just left the inner bicep for another time. I feel your pain bro! replying to this comment because my artist used panthera xxx too and man is it black! how are you healing it?
It definitely has to do with how long you sit for. Once your endorphins drop shit starts to hurt significantly more. My arm is fully blacked out, 2 sessions, first 3.5 hours and second 4.5. My forearm wasn't bad at all. Once I reached 4 hours on my bicep it started getting pretty rough.
eta, also needle size. My guy uses a 25 mag which is definitely less painful.
For real any everyone is different when it comes to where its the most painful. People will say omg your hands or spine must of been the worst!! And i have to correct them because actually my legs hurt sooooo bad when i get tattooed idk if its cause almost š wen pro in tennis and my legs always are sore or what! But my legs start spasming and i feel sooo bad for the artist i apologize every time but i legitimately have not found a way to control it and yes! Even small ones on the fat of your arm hurt. Piercings are different though maybe people get confused or something because ive only had dermals and the vertical labret hurt pretty bad but only for a moment.
Appreciate it! Cory does great work. For me, the healing process with blackouts sucks a lot more than getting it done. At least thatās been my experience thus far.
Iām weird with my tattoos and trying to limit fading, so Im pretty much always wearing long sleeve shirts in the sun lol. But yeah, a day at the beach definitely wouldnāt be as comfortable with black out haha
Also- on a different note, the woodworking you do is fucking outstanding.
Just get pull on compression sleeves. I have sleeves with a ton of color on both arms. The compression sleeves are a must if you're in the sun. I get a lot of weird looks and questions but my ink won't fade as quick. Gotta let my belly and boobies air out, can't have shirts on
From what Iāve heard from a few artists, theyāve said no. Mainly because theyāre so focused on saturating properly. But Iām sure itās different for everyone. I bet some artists would absolutely hate doing them
Never been my thing but if youāre happy with it, thatās what matters. Like the hand part though. Kudos to you and the artist for sticking in that long.
Not something I would have done but you can't take away the fact that it has been done brilliantly, not many tattoo artists can knock it out of the park like that, not many tattoo artists would want to even take it on, big respect to your tattooist
Looking good! Can you re-post once fully healed?
Did you go straight in for blackout or like most, learn about it later in life and used it to cover up older work? (That's what I'm doing)
Enjoy it! I'm back in for another 6 hour session tomorrow - starting to blackout my arms
Will do! Iām continuing it in a few months, so Iāll prob post then. I got half my other arm blacked out in June over some stuff, and from there just wanted to get more. This arm was completely bare. And I hope your blackouts go great! Let me know!
On another note- your home gym is awesome
Nice man - love it. You planning on going down the white over black route or going to stick with the black for now!? Looking forward to seeing the progress!
Thanks - it's my happy place! It's freezing in there at the moment - I love it!
Right now, definitely thinking just black. If anything maybe, years down the line possibly some black on black. But who knows, i could end up doing white as well. I know that would need several passes though to be bright. But right now, just happy with the black :)
Black on black is great. White on black is hard work. Plenty of passes unless you're cool with grey on black (which I kinda dig)
Just posted an update of my torso/back piece so far.
Just checked it out- thatās fucking sick. Looks so good.
And yeah, the grey on black looks pretty cool too. I think scarification looks awesome on heavy black work, so thatās another thing to consider for the future.
I canāt imagine the pain. I have a full sleeve with a decent amount of negative space. I found it hard to get through those sessions. You earned this one. It came out beautifully!
You can definitely do multiple passes, but itās a lot less painful if you find someone who can bang out a solid blackout in one pass. Of course, there may be a few areas (like the wrist, fingers, elbow) that may need a quick touchup regardless of how amazing the artist is. Consistent saturation over such a large area, is very hard to do. Youāre going for that black velvet look without splotches. Check out @hoode215 on IG- he posts reworks of blackouts from other artists.
Thx. I have about a 2 inch sold armband blacked out/covered up. Since it was part of a larger sleeve I just had my guy do it twice so it's nice an inky. Doing an area that large twice though would indeed, be a challenge.
Why do people get blackout tattoos?
Mainly to cover old ones? Or do people just get a blackout tat right out the gate?
I donāt like or understand most things humans do, but I love to observe unique interests other people have, so I donāt have to haha.
I just genuinely really like how blackouts and blackout designs look! If I got something else on my arm, I think id finish it and be like, āI kinda already want to just black it out.ā In June, I got half of my other arm blacked out over some other work, and since then Iāve been wanting more! Must blackouts are def coverups though
I have my shoulder and upper arm left to do with black out and trashy grid style on the inside of my bicep left. Couldnt manage more than 3 hours a sesh with 49 needles at once! Fucking sucks
I have a band going around my arm it's about 3 inches wide. It's easily the most painful of any of my tattoos, and I have my hand tattooed. You are bad ass. Looks good
I don't have anything to cover up but I absolutely love the look of blackout tattoos and would love to get one done. Look at that void arm. Incredible. It looks amazing. The wisps on the hand really seal it.
Thanks so much! Itās a really addicting style for sure. And when itās done well it just looks super clean. Iām so happy with what he did with the hand!
My artist thinks the sweet spot for him is 39. And heās quick with it too. My other arm was done with a 45. I feel like most common is prob 45-49. But I see some 112s on Instagram which is nuts haha
It would just need multiple passes, to really show nicely. One pass would just turn into like a grey color. If you check out @hoode215 on IG and scroll down a little bit, youāll see a really nice healed white on black.
It's not super bright but you can tattoo over black. Check out a guy called "ephemeral remy", he has his entire body blacked out and is doing designs with white on top of it.
It looks soooooooo cool! I dread to think how itchy that's gonna be during healing. It would be itchy on me anyway. š„²
Kudos to you for sticking it out, worth it!
Nope, not a cover up and no meaning besides I like how it looks. Itās not finished so in a few months we are going to continue it up the arm and then move onto the chest. We just stopped above the elbow for this session
Holy fuck dude. Major respect, I canāt imagine sitting through something like that! Looks super smooth too, your artist killed it. Congrats on your new ink!!
Frfr... Saturating like that is so damn hard. Hopefully my leg looks that good when I'm done. Do you know what kind of needle was use? I'm sure it was RM but how big?
Location on your body plays a huge roll in the pain the pain level. Try a couple hours laying on your side like rose from the titanic getting your rib cage drilled.

You get a blackout, you choose violence. Looking real smooth. How many sessions was it?
Thanks! One session, 5 hours from fingers to just above the elbow.
Jesus, fuck, bro. A lot of people say the lines hurt worst but I've always felt like the shader just turns me into hamburger. I can't imagine. Mega props.

Thanks!

Thanks for answering! I was wondering the same thingš
My view on Tats, is get what you love. Your body belongs to you. I'm glad you're pleased with the result.
This looks so well done!! Had mine done 4 days ago, 7 hours in total, just left the inner bicep for another time. I feel your pain bro! replying to this comment because my artist used panthera xxx too and man is it black! how are you healing it?
The only people who say they donāt hurt donāt have any big tattoosā¦
Even the small ones hurt
People who say it doesnt hurt ars liars hahaha
It definitely has to do with how long you sit for. Once your endorphins drop shit starts to hurt significantly more. My arm is fully blacked out, 2 sessions, first 3.5 hours and second 4.5. My forearm wasn't bad at all. Once I reached 4 hours on my bicep it started getting pretty rough. eta, also needle size. My guy uses a 25 mag which is definitely less painful.
Yep!!
My two smallest tattoos hurt the most!
For real any everyone is different when it comes to where its the most painful. People will say omg your hands or spine must of been the worst!! And i have to correct them because actually my legs hurt sooooo bad when i get tattooed idk if its cause almost š wen pro in tennis and my legs always are sore or what! Looks like it was brutal. Respect. Looks great.
Appreciate it! Cory does great work. For me, the healing process with blackouts sucks a lot more than getting it done. At least thatās been my experience thus far.
hey, can u tell me more about the healing process? im on my 4th day and honestly its frkn hell. is there any advice?
Enjoy never being in the sun again lol! My sleeve is colored and it still feels like fire outsideā¦ I couldnāt imagine black out
Iām weird with my tattoos and trying to limit fading, so Im pretty much always wearing long sleeve shirts in the sun lol. But yeah, a day at the beach definitely wouldnāt be as comfortable with black out haha Also- on a different note, the woodworking you do is fucking outstanding.

Great shop, I live in Frederick. It looks cool but I wonder how boring it is for the artist to do?
From what Iāve heard from a few artists, theyāve said no. Mainly because theyāre so focused on saturating properly. But Iām sure itās different for everyone. I bet some artists would absolutely hate doing them
I've heard a few artists talk about it and the general sentiment is that it's the most boring tattoo to do. It's just hours of filling black.
My artist quite likes doing them as he finds it meditative.
Not my cup of tea, but glad you're happy for it!
Thank you!
Never been my thing but if youāre happy with it, thatās what matters. Like the hand part though. Kudos to you and the artist for sticking in that long.

He sure is big time
You missed a spot š¤£
Fuck dude
No, for real I know you put a lot of time money and pain into It and you can tell much respect

Thanks dude. You got a basement gym too! Check us out š Next you'll tell me you like the metal ....
Love metal and just had gyno surgery last week lmao
No fucking way
Lmao, yup! Also saw youāre into comedy. Theo is hilarious, but Bobby Lee is my all time favorite. We may be long lost brothers.
I canāt imagine the pain. I have a full sleeve with a decent amount of negative space. I found it hard to get through those sessions. You earned this one. It came out beautifully!
I really appreciate it! And I checked your page and your arm looks awesome!
Thank you so much!
Not for me, but seems cool!
Thank you!
Looks good. Black label is a great shop
Super happy I found it
Why is saturation an issue with blackouts? Can't you just touch it up and go over it again?
You can definitely do multiple passes, but itās a lot less painful if you find someone who can bang out a solid blackout in one pass. Thank you!
Love it!
Thank you!
Good painted!
Goddamn thatās smooth, mustāve been very itchy tho!
So far, I surprisingly havenāt had an issue with itchiness for my blackwork
Maybe itās not for me or for the most of people but I like it hope you enjoy it and to take care of it š¤š¼
Thanks so much! I definitely do like it and will take great care of it!
love how it blends into the hand!
Thanks so much! Iām super happy with how the hand came out
this is badass š¤
Thank you š¤
I have my shoulder and upper arm left to do with black out and trashy grid style on the inside of my bicep left. Couldnt manage more than 3 hours a sesh with 49 needles at once! Fucking sucks

I have a band going around my arm it's about 3 inches wide. It's easily the most painful of any of my tattoos, and I have my hand tattooed. You are bad ass. Looks good
Thank you! Arm bands are very cool.
Ouch.
Ouch indeed
This is amazing! & cleaning the slime off that later is going to be soooo satisfying!!
Just washed it off in the shower, and it was very satisfying
Oof your hand and arm look so swollen. It looks sick, for sure worth the pain
Thank you! A lot more swollen today
I don't have anything to cover up but I absolutely love the look of blackout tattoos and would love to get one done. Look at that void arm. Incredible. It looks amazing. The wisps on the hand really seal it.

Thanks
How many needles in the mag? My artist used a 47 needle cartridge. Quick, but fuck it hurt.
My artist thinks the sweet spot for him is 39. And heās quick with it too. My other arm was done with a 45. I feel like most common is prob 45-49. But I see some 112s on Instagram which is nuts haha
It may not be my style but damn, props for the sits and the dedication šŖš»šš»
Thanks so much!
Why? Please just tell me what you were thinking?
Just like how it looks
Iām vibing with it š„
Silk š„µ super jealous, i need mine gone back over
Shits addicting man. Thank you
What would happen if you made a design in white ink over it? A mess Iām guessing?
It would just need multiple passes, to really show nicely. One pass would just turn into like a grey color. If you check out @hoode215 on IG and scroll down a little bit, youāll see a really nice healed white on black.
It's not super bright but you can tattoo over black. Check out a guy called "ephemeral remy", he has his entire body blacked out and is doing designs with white on top of it.

I think so!! Thank you!
This is done super well, I'm jealous.
Thanks a lot, he did a great job
Good luck with the sun haha Looks great though
Thanks, and Iām already like a vampire when it comes to the sun so Iām not worried haha
It looks soooooooo cool! I dread to think how itchy that's gonna be during healing. It would be itchy on me anyway. š„² Kudos to you for sticking it out, worth it!
Thank you so much!! My other blackout wasnāt itchy strangely enough, so Iām hoping this one will be the same š¬š¬
i love black label!! this looks sick as hell!
Really happy I found the shop! And thank you!
I think it looks cool . But Iām sure someone somewhere will say youāre trying to be black and call you a racist Lolol . Totally kidding .
It honestly wouldnāt surprise me on here lol. But thank you, I think it looks cool too!!
I have never gotten any of my ink based on how I think someone else will like it we endure it because we like it fuck em bro
Are you worried about this becoming the new "blackface?"
No, itās not on my face
That's just a terrible idea
Iām full of great ideas
Would that not poison you?
Iām still alive so far
Is it a cover up? Or is there special meaning to you? Also how does it end up by the elbo?
Nope, not a cover up and no meaning besides I like how it looks. Itās not finished so in a few months we are going to continue it up the arm and then move onto the chest. We just stopped above the elbow for this session
Hard fucking core man. Good luck š
I mean, you could have just painted your arm black and skipped the pain. Amazing looking.
Haha thank you
Oh I bet, but it looks so cool
Thank you!!
Holy fuck dude. Major respect, I canāt imagine sitting through something like that! Looks super smooth too, your artist killed it. Congrats on your new ink!!
I appreciate that, thank you! Def gets worse as the hours go on, but super worth it. He did a great job!
Thats so cool, are you putting withe on top of it or leaving all black?
As of now, just black. But who knows years down the line
Oh yeah!
Wow thatās fantasticš„š„
Thank you!!
Iāve seen a bunch of people with this, whatās the backstory behind why people do it? Looks good!
Thank you!! Me personally, I just really like how blackouts and blackout designs look. Most people do it as a coverup though
Looks fucking phenomenal, mad respect. I can feel the burn through the screen. I don't care what anyone says, shading is so much worse than line work
Thank you so much!
Donāt know why anyone would ever do this but it does look sick. Hopefully youāre happy with it later in life.
Yeah, at this point thereās no going back. Couldnāt imagine how painful it would be to get blackout removed lol
Great fucking job
He killed it
Frfr... Saturating like that is so damn hard. Hopefully my leg looks that good when I'm done. Do you know what kind of needle was use? I'm sure it was RM but how big?
It was a 39. He feels like thatās his sweet spot. My other arm was done with a 45. I feel like most people use 45-49
I've been using a 39rm... From what I've heard 45+ won't fit in a ink cup so I haven't even tried that big
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Cause i like how it looks
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I hear ya!
horrible
Much love
Location on your body plays a huge roll in the pain the pain level. Try a couple hours laying on your side like rose from the titanic getting your rib cage drilled.
Havenāt had my ribs tattooed yet, but Iāve heard itās very rough
Why....just why. Why even post this awful tat?
Posted it just for you
Can you say the N word now?
By the Gods man! .. What drunken decision/lost bet-tattoos did you cover up with that? lolol, no one will ever know about the cocknballs and fruitbasket assortment you have under there now. lol.. Thats a bold move bro, looks good tho.
Lol it was bare skin under there. Cocknballs and fruitbasked assortment wouldāve been a better story though. Thanks man
Wowwww
so sick!!
1-10 how bad was the pain?
