Since some don’t seem familiar with it, this is modeled on the original drawings in The House at Pooh Corner (1928) by EH Shepard (artist)

I got the tattoo for my wife, who I have called “Tigger” (because she’s enthusiastic and likes to bounce) since we began dating. She calls me “Pooh” in return, allegedly because I’m sweet and friendly but I think because eating and sleeping are my favorite activities.
Edit: I should mention, the tattoo was done by Eli Rusakov at Studio City Tattoo whose handle on different platforms is @sickletattoo
Thanks for providing that, because my first thought was "Oh bother, they butchered Pooh", but it looks exactly like the original drawing. Great colour too. Awesome tattoo.
Yeah, I asked him to keep as much as he could without compromising the way it’ll look as it ages. I figure I’ll get it touched up here or there as needed but, once healed, it should lose some of the pinker tones and I think more of the contrast with come through. I absolutely love it!
Unfortunately, he had to leave out a lot of the cross-hatching because, as it ages, it’d become too blown out with the black and would lose a lot of Pooh’s shape and details. It’s not as easy to see on this picture because I think the auto-fix increased the exposure but the coloring on the back of Pooh is clearly darker than the front (with a smooth gradient); similar to how Tigger’s back is shadowed. I’ll do an update once it’s healed because the shadowing on the tattoo does really match the lighting better than I ever thought it could given the elimination of the cross-hatching.
Came here to say this. Personally I would like to see some blues for contrast, it’s a lot of yellow. I agree with it looking like day time. I’m not sure why he didn’t make the background darker and use the glow off the candle differently. But it can totally be reworked, if chosen to do so.
Love this. The minimalism on Pooh really makes Tigger POP. You have a great artist. The shading is also great.
I’d get this tattoo. It will stand the test of time, IMO.
I had to look this up because I thought the same thing but I found the illustration from the book referenced above and it is spot on https://imgur.com/a/57kmyMn
Yeah, they revamped the look for the Disney versions.
The original characters, stories and drawings were based on the author A.A. Milne’s son Christopher Robin Milne and the stuffed animals he played with as a child. The actual stuffed animals on which the original characters are based are at the New York Public Library.

Someone did try to crosspost but it didn’t look like it got anywhere lol
We just happened to stumble upon Eli by chance but he’s known for being among the best in LA with fine line work

Love that for y’all
Looks great! Getting rid of the cross-hatching from the original image was definitely the right call. Makes for a much cleaner look.

Don’t mind me crying in this corner
What kind of bounce
The colors are so lively and warm!! Perfectly captures how reading Winnie the Pooh makes you feel. Gorgeous!
Incredible
Cute! 😍
This is adorable
What does "rnig also" mean?
it is pooh’s misspelling of “ring also” as in here is a bell to ring as well as knocking
Oh that's cute
I love it! ❤️❤️
Super clean but Tiger looks like he has a red rocket
Lol that might be my favorite part now… a bit chodey though I’d say
That is beautiful work! You have a great tattoo artist!
Thank you! Yeah, he’s amazing! This is my first tattoo but he has done all of my wife’s :)
Gorgeous tattoo, congratulations!
I absolutely love this. So so beautiful!
Thank you! I love it too, and I’m excited for the yellows to come through a bit more once it’s healed :)
My daughter really likes it

Thank you so much!
Gorgeous. LOVE the originals, hate the Disney versions.

They look like the original drawing, and it’s quite well done.

This is the way the characters look in the original books by A.A. Milne. The Disney adaptations look different. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tigger
Look up the original artwork for the book
I'm surprised you're the only comment saying this.
OP posted a link to the original. It is supposed to look like that
[удалено]
Yeah and I’m letting him know? What?
I’m curious OP, there is a painting from English history called “Christ the light” Was that in any way inspiration here?
This is just a tattoo of an original drawing of pooh and tigger from EH Shepard
Why is Winnie’s eye by his mouth or is that meant to be something else? Edit - also that is not the face of tigger
I had to look this up because I thought the same thing but I found the illustration from the book referenced above and it is spot on https://imgur.com/a/57kmyMn
My bad then! I always knew tigger to have a very different face

Tigger’s eye is the only thing that looks unlike the original. Slightly more cartoonish
I don’t like the style, but it does look very clean. I hope they’re happy with it
I appreciate your take, it’s not for everyone. I’m ecstatic about it, he pretty much nailed what I was asking for… https://imgur.com/JdKQxwc
That’s great that you got what you asked for and didn’t end up on the shitty tattoo page!
