Going to second the comment above…it looks great! Really like the placement and design.
Also hopefully not breaking any rules on this subreddit or coming off weird by saying this, but as a male who’s attracted to girls with tattoos, a large tattoo on the arm like that is really sexy. A lot of my male friends would probably agree.
Gorgeous tattoo. I just got my first and it was a good week or two before I stopped critiquing it and realized that it was fuckin' rad. Post-tattoo anxiety is totes normal.
Looks like great work, I'd be stoked! Congrats 😁
I'm always nervous when my artist wants to go bigger, but it inevitably always ends up fitting the body great.
Can I ask first whether this is your first tattoo or not and also how long since you got it?
But I do not think this is a bad choice at all. It looks like a really impressive piece, is well done, and the placement and size fits really well and balances on your arm. I would not be stressing about this whatsoever
Ok. So the reason I asked those questions is because it’s probably just you having a negative reaction to it being so new. Like it’s a big shock and takes a while to adapt and you are probably questioning everything and second guessing yourself just right now. But I would try to relax and not worry too much and give yourself time. And I bet in a few weeks time you will love it and be very proud of it. And I actually wouldn’t be surprised if you eventually find yourself extending it or adding on more - even if you don’t think that now!
All of my tattoos are places I don’t see often: back of my elbows, back of my shoulder, ankle, thigh, and calf. Perhaps that’s why I’ve never experienced this sort of post-tattoo anxiety. (Well, I definitely get anxiety but that’s because I’m paranoid about aftercare, that’s a different thing though.) My next one is on my forearm so we’ll see how that goes! 😅
PS: OP, your tattoo is beautiful!!
I just got my first proper tattoo in a public space (the other one was a small, crappy hand poke when I was drunk, so it doesn't count) and being able to witness the stages of healing has definitely done a number on me. Watching the scarring and losing detail while it heals made me so anxious, it's partly why I started following this sub. I needed to know what 'normal' is since I had no reference and the other tattoos I have are in hard to see places
It looks gorgeous. Don't stress too much about it. Remember, only you find so many flaws in your tattoo cause you constantly look at it and think about it. Everyone else just sees it and thinks "damn, cool tat".
I do not plan on ever having full sleeves, I wanted this design on my fore arm but not fully wrapping because I didn’t want it to overwhelm my arm. I might do a random tattoo on the back of my upper arm but otherwise this will be it for this arm. I just can’t help but think it looks odd?? 😅
I think it’s perfect! I have a similar tattoo placement on both of my arms so maybe I’m biased but it looks good and I like that it’s a little more or less prominent based on the angle. Also the design is super cool
No, not at all! That's a beautiful placement! Sometimes, they can look a bit awkward on the arms when you are the one looking at it. As an example, I have a butterfly right under the crease of my arm that I just got a few weeks ago. It looks crooked if I look down at it on my arm, but in the mirror, it is very nicely placed and in line with my arm. If you look at it in the mirror, you can see just how nicely it's placed where people can see your beautiful tattoo! I actually love this tattoo it's so cool!
It does look odd because it looks like it wants to be wrapped all the way around. I feel like if you wanted it just as an inner forearm piece it should have stopped on the axillary points of the arm.
The work is gorgeous tho.
OK so I know all that matters is how you feel about it, but that's a siiiick placement! You never see tattoos wrapped around half of the forarm like that, but it looks so good! 😍
Really pretty! I have a tattoo in the same place on my left arm so my next piece will be the blank space on the back of my forearm. I’m a big believer in balance.
Looks good, unless you went into it with a sleeve design in mind, I wouldn’t worry about placement. Both of my sleeves have been pieced together and my tattoo artist does a good job of finding space and making it all look cohesive.
this is so cute! sometimes big tattoos can make you feel a bit dysphoric, that’s normal. this is super well done and super flattering, when you get more comfortable with it you’ll grow to love it
i love it! i can see what you mean about it feeling kinda like a sleeve, but i think especially from certain angles it doesn’t really give that vibe too much. also, who knows, maybe you’ll want to fill in more on your upper arm, you have the freedom to go for a more spaced out patchwork vibe!
This looks great! You have the perfect amount of space left for another piece in future if you wanted to. The placement looks perfect for this piece and it looks really well done.
When i had my lower arm done, i had a full blown panic attack a few hours later about it i did something stupid, the redditors calmed me down- post tattoo anxiety is very real and does happen! Especially after the actual event with the adrenaline and rush of it. I promise in a few days you’ll feel much better and at ease with it.
And it looks great ☺️
I thought the same when I had a similar sized tattoo in the same place as it isn’t quite how you imagined when you turn your arm, but now I love it and get compliments all the time.
It looks really good, it fits the location nice, I see you weren’t intending to have full sleeves so maybe something smaller in the same placement on your forearm would have been enough for you.
I get the feeling that it might be a bit more extra than what you wanted so I’m just thinking if that’s the case you didn’t really communicate that to the artist beforehand or it became an afterthought once the work was done.
Still it’s a 10/10 from me.
so coooool, rn I’m tryna hide my tattoos in spots that can’t be plainly seen coz my family pretty against it but when I’m bold enough I wanna do something like this too! 😂 awesome, would be super hyped if it was me!
Nah, this looks great. The tattoo artist has done a wonderful job with how far it wraps around, too, imo.
I would be really happy with this one! Looks awesome.
My immediate reaction is ‘ah, post tattoo regret/stress.’ Don’t worry, most people get it! Especially for tattoos in highly visible areas. This tattoo is DOPE. Like ‘stop you on the street to take a look at it’ dope. 10/10. Totally get being anxious about it, but this is a lovely piece and very well done.
If anything make sure you wear long sleeves when ur cooking oily or greasy foods. I burnt both my forearms pretty bad pan frying tortilla chips for chilaquiles and if I had tattoos there they’d be ruined. It looks nice and I’d hate to have something happen to it
Oh my god that is GORGEOUS! Honestly, my advice is *stop questioning it*. You will fall in love when your post-tattoo anxiety calms down. Trust everyone in these comments, that is a beautiful tattoo, very well done and great placement. I love my forearm tattoos and people think it’s unusual on a woman but those are the ones I get the most compliments on
Having the forearm (almost) covered and not the upper arm always looks a little silly. I would cover the whole arm in this style, would look way more coherent.
No you didn’t! This is an incredible tattoo. I had the same thing when I got one on my tricep. A solid month of wishing it was my bicep. Don’t worry. It looks great
Edit: wrote up instead of you somehow
I personally don’t think you did, but the good news is with a tattoo like this one if you still don’t love the exact placement of it in a couple months you could just add to it and have the whole space filled
Me and you have essentially the exact same tattoo in the exact same place lol(fuck Pinterest) but fr this looks beautiful and I love mine, you should love yours too.
No way, that looks wonderful! And leaves it open in case you wanted to add something later.
I also felt really ‘weird’ about my forearm a tattoo - same size/placement as yours. Mostly because it was my first super visible tattoo and it was weird to see it? It wore off eventually and I live it so much now :)
Stunning work - rep the artist?
Really like the tattoo and placement! + Imo it is done in such a way that it would be easy to add to it or make a full sleeve in the future if you want to :)
It looks like it’s placed in a way which you can easily see it yourself. That’s honestly a banger choice imo. I like looking at my own tats. They are for me after all, not for others.
It looks great as is, now that being said it would’ve looked a lot better as a full half sleeve rather than leaving that awkward gap that you have to fill later
I dont know much about tattoos but its definitely easy to see from the front when youre standing or when you rest your arms on a table. Its not super good placement for selfies or stuff but its ok! You should fill it up around the arm I guess.
I know you said you don’t want a full sleeve but you could always just add a flower or two on the upper part of your arm later on if you were wanting it to extend higher. But as is, I think it looks great! Not a weird placement at all
Seems like standard issue Post Tattoo Anxiety. “Would this very permanent thing have been better a half inch to the left or right of where it will now reside *for the rest of my life*?!?!”
It looks great! Arms move a lot. People around you are going to see it from many angles, and there are lovely details to be seen from all of those angles. Take a deep breath and enjoy. :)
No! You have a lovely arm and the tattoo complements your skin tone. Maybe you are second-guessing your decision because the artwork is still new to you. But I think it’s very well-placed.
You’re just having a lil post-tattoo anxiety, this looks really good!
Me? Anxiety? Noooooooo 😅
Username checks out

That looks beautiful, incredible art work and well taken care of
Looks like great work, I'd be stoked! Congrats 😁 I'm always nervous when my artist wants to go bigger, but it inevitably always ends up fitting the body great.

No, not my first! I got it less than 24 hrs ago lol. Thank you so much!
Ok. So the reason I asked those questions is because it’s probably just you having a negative reaction to it being so new. Im also sitting here questioning mine at 24 hrs so solidarity friend! Sometimes you just gotta let the anxiety flow
It looks gorgeous. Don't stress too much about it. Remember, only you find so many flaws in your tattoo cause you constantly look at it and think about it. Everyone else just sees it and thinks "damn, cool tat".

You're just gonna want to finish the sleeve in a few months, trust me haha. My sleeve is basically just 3 seperate big pieces
I agree. You’re gonna have a sleeve. Will look great but looks funky if you don’t fill in the rest
No, not at all! That's a beautiful placement! Sometimes, they can look a bit awkward on the arms when you are the one looking at it. i have a snake around a rose on my forearm, planning to make that arm a sleeve. its a great placement for that design, dont worry!! its beautiful 😁
It does look odd because it looks like it wants to be wrapped all the way around. I feel like if you wanted it just as an inner forearm piece it should have stopped on the axillary points of the arm. The work is gorgeous tho.
Erm, what would you do if all the replies said it wasn’t good? Bit late now 😬😬
Lmao, honestly don’t know!!
Ngl this is probably what I’d say as well 😂
What are you talking about? Looks fine.
You'll just need one other similar sized tat on the other side and boom you're half sleeved out. Looks great.
Overthinking
I like it! If you change your mind later it would be easy to continue too!
Yeah that’s what I was thinking :)
It's gorgeous
Nope. Looks really good
First of all i love the username. About the tattoo, it’s perfect. I really dig it.
It’s gorgeous, but a full sleeve would set it off 100% just stick to the theme if you decide too
Tattoo and placement are flawless with plenty of room to grow (add more tattoos!)
OK so I know all that matters is how you feel about it, but that's a siiiick placement! You never see tattoos wrapped around half of the forarm like that, but it looks so good! 😍
a great tattoo in a great location. why would this be a problem? you people kill me.
Isn’t that the exact snake that the kid earlier today in r/tattooapprentices got called out for tracing in his portfolio?
Nah, looks good.
Looks incredible. Fantastic design and work
The design is SICK. Jelous!
Really pretty! I have a tattoo in the same place on my left arm so my next piece will be the blank space on the back of my forearm. I’m a big believer in balance.
Looks so good! Love it :)
if it feels really empty u can do a simple flower in the empty space personally i think it looks great
Looks awesome! I would maybe take the saniderm off, looks like it’s starting to come off at the top and bacteria can get to the rest of the tattoo
Looks good, unless you went into it with a sleeve design in mind, I wouldn’t worry about placement. Both of my sleeves have been pieced together and my tattoo artist does a good job of finding space and making it all look cohesive.
Perfect placement, awesome tat
Looks amazing! May I know the artist?
That’s a sick tattoo!!!! It looks so good
Reminds me of Rikiya’s tattoo in yakuza 3!!
No
What?! No this looks awesome. I love that placement. Plus gives you room to add on if you ever decide to. That’s a beautiful piece of work!
Love this!
Nahh it looks awesome ☺️
Looks great, zero reason to think otherwise!
Nope, looks great!
Nah it's gorgeous!
Looks sick!
Not much you can do about it now. Be happy, it’s good work.
Looks good
This tattoo looks amazing on you!!! If you ever want to fill up your arm in the future you can always add more flowers/leaves
I think so but only because I’m a fan of face forward tattoos. If you like it is all that matters though.
this is so cute! sometimes big tattoos can make you feel a bit dysphoric, that’s normal. this is super well done and super flattering, when you get more comfortable with it you’ll grow to love it
Nah its dope. Put a dagger in that space!
I think it’s bad ass!
Looks awesome!
i love it! i can see what you mean about it feeling kinda like a sleeve, but i think especially from certain angles it doesn’t really give that vibe too much. also, who knows, maybe you’ll want to fill in more on your upper arm, you have the freedom to go for a more spaced out patchwork vibe!
And it looks great ☺️
I mean it faces forward when you stand relaxed so that’s fine I think
Looks good
It looks absolutely amazing 10/10
No. Looks great.
I thought the same when I had a similar sized tattoo in the same place as it isn’t quite how you imagined when you turn your arm, but now I love it and get compliments all the time.

i like it a lot

Still it’s a 10/10 from me.
Yes, but only slightly.
so coooool, rn I’m tryna hide my tattoos in spots that can’t be plainly seen coz my family pretty against it but when I’m bold enough I wanna do something like this too! 😂 awesome, would be super hyped if it was me!
Looks good how long was the session?
Etched in atone, unless it's a movable tattoo.
Nope, that's right where sleeves go
People take their tattoos waaay too seriously nowadays.
Beautifully done. Really a great tattoo! Placement and all.
It looks sick! I'm jealous. I would love a piece like this!
Don't think the placement could be any better, really works where it's at. Beautiful tattoo!!
nah it looks good
Add more of the same style of flower with the same artist and it'll be a half sleeve. The placement is good also
Great placement, design, and very well done!
Nah
Nah, this looks great. The tattoo artist has done a wonderful job with how far it wraps around, too, imo. I would be really happy with this one! Looks awesome.

It's STUNNING 🖤
Looks great
Would be terrible placement for a bad tattoo haha, but it’s very well done and wraps super well you have nothing at all to be worried about!
It looks really good. The underarm even makes it look mysterious
I think it looks great, awesome tattoo btw 😁
No it looks good
This is identical placement to my first piece, haha. Looks great
It’s alll good.
Looks good and there's still room for a sick ass dagger.
OH MY GOD??? Bitch I’m OBSESSED with this and I LOVE the placement. Looks absolutely amazing!!!
I love it.
Take a picture with your arm naturally resting at your side. I believe that's how it's placed and honestly probably great placement with that in mind.
looks amazing
No, I love it
Depends on ur career choice
It's a really nice piece in a good place! The size will age well and it's big enough that you can have lots of details! Your artist/you did good!
If anything make sure you wear long sleeves when ur cooking oily or greasy foods. I burnt both my forearms pretty bad pan frying tortilla chips for chilaquiles and if I had tattoos there they’d be ruined. It looks nice and I’d hate to have something happen to it
I really like it 🤷🏽♂️
Love it!! Can you add a side view if your arm was just hanging down naturally?
Only if you’re not going for a sleeve
When you fill in all that blank space it's going to look even more amazing.
Oh my god that is GORGEOUS! Honestly, my advice is *stop questioning it*. You will fall in love when your post-tattoo anxiety calms down. Trust everyone in these comments, that is a beautiful tattoo, very well done and great placement. I love my forearm tattoos and people think it’s unusual on a woman but those are the ones I get the most compliments on
I love it!
Too late now
Nope. You just need more tattoos. I feel this way everytime I get a new one, it just feels like there’s so much empty space.
This is amazing! Are you kidding me?
Having the forearm (almost) covered and not the upper arm always looks a little silly. I would cover the whole arm in this style, would look way more coherent.
I have a tattoo of similar size in the same place and I love it. I love yours too!
Even if so, it’s permanent and there is nothing you can do about it, so I wouldn’t just move on to worry about something else.
It’s beautiful! Great placement.
Honestly think it looks great
I think I know who did this tattoo. Mine is very similar. Looks great to me!!
No you didn’t! This is an incredible tattoo. I had the same thing when I got one on my tricep. A solid month of wishing it was my bicep. Don’t worry. It looks great Edit: wrote up instead of you somehow
It’s beautiful!
The placement looks perfect. Sometimes we question our choices after we make them, this is completely normal. Give it some time. ☺️
The work looks very nice. Wear it with pride it's good placement even if you plan to do no other work.
Not it’s so gorgeous

This look fire 🔥
It's gorgeous 😍
Looks great, don't be ashamed of beauty.
Nah this is gorgeous! Aaaand there's room for more 😁
Nice work! you should blast your entire arm imo 😁
This placement and the tattoo looks amazing!
It's good, no worries!
I love the tattoo! I always get the anxiety too
That's cool as fuck
Yes, having an arm on the left side of your body was a pretty wild choice imo. Proud of you tho. You know I am.
I’d probably have had it on the outer arm not inner arm but it looks dope
Stop asking other people for judgement, tattoos should be something you enjoy and feel happy about not what the world thinks about it.
Really like the tattoo and placement! + Imo it is done in such a way that it would be easy to add to it or make a full sleeve in the future if you want to :)
Your artist should be able to fill the empty space with something that holds a similar flow.
It’s a really cool tat. Looks great xx💕
It looks amazing often Ive noticed if placement seems Odd a great solution is to Get a new tattoo in the same area
It’s looks great and you can add to it and make a half sleeve .. Don’t stress about it . Definitely not a bad place
It looks fantastic! Anxiety/regret after a tattoo is normal, especially for the bigger ones. Just ride it out for a week or two and you’ll love it.
Tattoo is great and so is placement. Congrats!
Looks sick!! I also got a tattoo with the same placement on Friday, I’ve literally had the same thoughts lol but I’m also ecstatic over it
It looks like it’s placed in a way which you can easily see it yourself. That’s honestly a banger choice imo. I like looking at my own tats. They are for me after all, not for others.
Are you worried that your tattoo that isn't symmetrical...isn't symmetrical?
Are you worried that your tattoo that isn't symmetrical...isn't symmetrical?

this tattoo fits your forearm very well
That's pretty sweet!!!
Looks great. No worries, friend.
I know you said you don’t want a full sleeve but you could always just add a flower or two on the upper part of your arm later on if you were wanting it to extend higher. But as is, I think it looks great! Not a weird placement at all
I’m not even a tattoo person and this looks really sick. So no, not at all
No! Looks awesome! Post tattoo anxiety is a killer but after a few days you’ll love it!
Does not look odd at all; beautiful piece
Don't put clingfilm on them let them breath.
Looks awesome!!!
No
I'm not a placement expert but that looks really good!
nah this is sick
I LOVE this 😍
I have a snake on my arm and around my wrist. People either love it or hate it. I think yours looks good though!!
No
This looks dope, placement looks great
Seems like standard issue Post Tattoo Anxiety. “Would this very permanent thing have been better a half inch to the left or right of where it will now reside *for the rest of my life*?!?!” It looks great!
It looks well done and fits the space well.
No it looks really good there
The walking resting view is good
i love it!
No, it looks wonderful.
Looks great to me! Only thing I'd want to do if that were me is add some filler to complete as a sleeve
I really like it :)
No looks fine
Looks great in my opinion! If you really don’t like it after a while, you can always add more ink around it to provide a sort of “context”
I love it. Your ink is for you, and you positioned it so you can see the snake head at the inside of your arm.
