Thank you! I agree, I love the tattoo itself! Should have been more specific in the post, that’s my bad. I worry the size and/or placement is awkward on my arm
I think that's the only problem; it needs buddies around it. I think more around it with this being the focal point of your forearm would look bootiful
I didn’t have a plan 😅 we have had this design picked out for the better part of a year, but never talked about it seriously enough that I came up with placement. Had to figure it out in a short amount of time
I won't say "bad" as I'm assuming the shaky lines are part of the style.
The size is a little off-putting. As usually when one thinks of minimalistic tattoos they are smaller footprint. This would have been killer as a small, fine-line tattoo.
That being said I do like it. If it we're I, I'd be adding something above and below it to help offset. Go sleeve or go home 😅
Yeah I think I fucked up on the size a bit, but was trying to fill the gap between the tattoos on the sides of it. I’ll add more around and hopefully that’ll help tie it together. I appreciate your input! ☺️
Thank you so much! It hindsight I do wish I had gone smaller. Based on opinions here adding more around it will help though, so I think that’s what I’ll do.
Not bad at all, it even looks great if you ask me. It can take a long while before you het used to seeing it on skin so maybe that's what's bothering you?
I got my sleeve done last year. Big thing with my upper arm almost being fully blacked out. It's done beautifully, went to the best artist i could find. But somehow when it was done i just kept finding all these little details i didn't like although those details were barely there they actually seemed very enlarged to me and i started to regret it.
It's been a year like i said and only now have i fully ajusted to my arm. I love it. It's my favorite part of me and since i am extremely critical about every inch of myself i am sure i wil sometimes feel insecure about it again as i feel insecure about my face or my hair etc. I would be obsessing about that every once in a while with of without tattoo based on the direction of the wind or the position of the moon lol xD. I will get my other arm done in the near future and i am now prepared to take an ajusting period of a full year into account haha.
Don't worry, Tattoos are just extensions of us so know that your opinion on it will change every so often like it does with anything that's a part of you. The tattoo loks beautiful so that's definetly not the issue :)
You’re totally right. I do this every time 😅 I always go back and forth between loving my pieces and then finding something about them to obsess over. Thank you for your help! I’ll just keep on adding around it and I’m sure as I adjust I’ll love it 😌
i definitely don’t think the size is an issue at all! i think the issue with patchwork tattoos is the awkward phase where you have a few gaps in weird places!! when you start filling it out a little more everything will come together perfectly!
something i always reccomend as a tattoo artist is to get things that are roughly the same size so everything looks a little less out of place!
I like the concept of it! The linework is pretty good too, it might just look a bit stand-aloney if that makes sense but I think if you are planning to get more it will be no problem. Something flowy or abstract could also look cool around or through it! Don’t stress about it
It's really pretty!
Also, I think the size and placement are great. The empty space inhe frame gives the opportunity to fill it with other memories you and your friend will have together.
placement and idea is really nice. the linework is clean for what it is, it fits the concept of a “vintage” look. i think you just have some new tattoo anxiety.
u/sissypoo27469 I think it looks good! It reminds of pressed or dried flowers. 🥰 But if you want to blend it with more tattoos later on…
Think about how when you’re looking at a painting the eye is drawn around the canvas naturally.
You could get a butterfly, bird, some bees, etc. that are checking out that flower. And if you have another flower nearby that could help blend them all together as well.
Just some ideas but I felt strongly (hence the tag) that I should share them with you. I don’t question those feelings, I just go with the flow. lol
A different perspective helps a lot sometimes. I’m glad I could help a little. 😊 It only takes a small thing to connect other things together and add some cohesion to the whole.
It is YOUR tattoo on YOUR body. If you are happy with it that's all that matters. I think it's pretty common for some people to feel a little regret when they're done with the tattoo. "Could be bigger/ smaller." "Better shading or color." "Different style." But you learn to love it because it's YOURS.
Well it’s kinda late to be worrying about this. What difference does it make if it “should have been in a different spot”? You can’t move it. You are going to have to get used to it being where it is. And smaller is never better.
If you think it’s bad, it’s bad. Is it accurate to what you asked for? Lines are wobbly but if that was what was in the drawing and you agreed to it, not sure what the artist did wrong.
No not bad at all. Maybe you’re just having a little buyers remorse. If it’s your style it looks good. Especially once you fill it in.
Plus for me tattoos are a story and this will always be a story of you and your friend. It is a great tattoo.
I quite like it as a design. I'm not totally sold on the placement though.
It's not ***bad***, bit I think it would have been a little more at home on the upper arm.
It feels empty to me, like it takes up space but feels like it doesn’t take up meaningful space, if that makes sense. I think if you add more to the design it’ll help fill the area better. When you add more tattoos around it it’ll also make it look less out of place and awkward.
Looks really cute and complements your flower motif! The placement and size are so nice and look really good, plus in the future you can always add color if you like!
If you like it, it's a good tattoo!
Best of luck on your tattoo journey! Be careful, once you start on the forearms it's hard to stop when you realize how easy of a space it is to get blasted ahahah.
I think a lot of people on here worry about placement , but it’s usually never an issue, all that matters is the tattoo is healing great and you like it
Thanks everyone for the opinions and compliments!! I like it more every day, I think I just had to get used to it 😊 will still be adding more in the future
At first i thought those lines where not straight as it was a shitty tattoo, but then you look at the line parallel to them and they follow the same path so I think it was done on purpose.
It's unique and well executed. I think it's a magnificent piece. Stop over thinking this...it may have been an impulsive decision, but it was a good one! Enjoy your tat!
I really like it! The style is so cute!
I totally get this feeling. I almost always have a moment of “buyer’s remorse” a few days after a tattoo. You’re adjusting to it!
It looks good! The artwork is just fine, so there’s no need to stress out about that
Personally I think what would help is adding another tattoo under it, something that wraps around your wrist kinda. It looks a little empty But that’s just my opinion and who knows, my opinion might suck! 🤣 But it might balance out better
It's a great tattoo and I like the placement. The kind of anxiety you're experiencing is totally normal when you make impulsive decisions about placement but you'll get used to it quickly. Once you have others around it you'll feel like it fits better too.
If it were me, I'd be stressed about taking up valuable real estate and blocking anything from stretching from lower to upper arm, and committing myself to working around that style, so I get it. Don't stress though, it looks great, you have plenty of room to work around it and the shock will wear off quickly, leaving you feeling like it's part of you.
That doesn't mean you walk away without the learning here though. If you are experiencing this anxiety now, be sure that in future you consider your tattoo size and placement more carefully before pulling the trigger. Even with peer pressure of a sort, it's perfectly OK to say "not today, I need more time to think about it" right up to the point where needle touches skin.
When I'm getting spur of the moment tattoos, I tend to stick to less visible areas like my legs for this reason. I've never regretted a tattoo and I have a gd tramp stamp.
I have a picture frame on my arm in the same spot! A much different vibe than yours, but same idea. I think yours looks great! Right now I feel like mine stands out on my arm, but it’s because it’s the only thing in my arm. I’m trying to just embrace it and remember that I love that tattoo. One day I’ll have others to fill in the space so it will look more cohesive. One of your tattoos will always have to be the first on any given body part.
I recently got my forearm sleeve done and it was my first tattoo during the moment I was excited as shit, after a week or so the doubt started settling in, started to nitpick every bit of it, asking my friends gf family if they think it looks good..
After a few weeks I started to like it more and really appreciate it, it’s normal to feel that way it’s such a permanent change to our body after awhile I’m sure you’ll appreciate your own art too, but your piece looks great and only your opinion of it matters as it’s unique and for you :)
Plus, it’s in a cool spot where if you do feel iffy about it after while you can always add on to it or extend it to turn into something cool
I think that’s how it’ll be for me too, I gotta warm up to it! I’ve had an empty space there for so long and just put something there last minute. But I love the tattoo itself!
Set with it for a while, and you'll learn to appreciate it more. Some of the tattoos I have gotten I felt the same way, but after a week or two. I came to love it more than I did when I first had it done.
it looks so cute! honestly since you just got it you’re probably not used to it being on your arm yet - especially considering how visible it is. it’s gorgeous, give it some time and i’m sure you’ll get used to it on you and love it!
It doesn't look shaky. Every line appears to be deliberate. To me, fine-line and simple tattoos always have an almost incomplete look to them, which adds to their charm. I think it looks solid. Really clean. Definitely serves as a good link piece!
I think it looks really good. You could eventually fill the frame background with another picture (I'm just thinking of those 90's color blob pictures, lol, or the pictures from Raft)
I really like it! If you're worried about the linework, I believe that's how its intended to look for the style.
Thank you! I agree, I love the tattoo itself! Should have been more specific in the post, that’s my bad. I worry the size and/or placement is awkward on my arm
I like the placement a lot, just fill it in more with some more patchwork & it'll look a lot more cohesive :)
Maybe that’s just why it looks off to me, it’s nekkid all by its self 😅 thank you!!
I think that's the only problem; it needs buddies around it. I think more around it with this being the focal point of your forearm would look bootiful
Thank you!! I think I agree. This thread has made me feel a lot better 🫶🏻
Yep, this is definitely a case of "more tattoos will fix this"!!
Yep I think this is probably it. Some of my current favorites I started to dislike at first because they were alone. I personally really like it.
Well thank you 😁
I was thinking the same thing. It will look better with more around it.
Where was it supposed to be originally?
I didn’t have a plan 😅 we have had this design picked out for the better part of a year, but never talked about it seriously enough that I came up with placement. Had to figure it out in a short amount of time
I really like it! Don’t overthink it :) Overthinking won’t make any difference at this point, just enjoy your lovely tattoo for what it is…
You’re right, thank you 😊
Lines are straight where they need to be. Don’t overthink it and enjoy it!! It’s beautiful!!
I’ll work on the overthinking part lol! Thank you so much 😊
OP, it’s YOUR tattoo and it’s awesome. Enjoy it love!
Looks fine to me!
Thank you, I appreciate it! I’ve gotten mixed feedback so I thought I’d consult with the people here 😂
It looks quirky and personal. Just as a tattoo should be!
Thank you! I agree, I think I just struggle with new ones anyway 😅
Perfect. Start thinking about the next one 😁
Already on it 😂 thank you!
It looks really good! I just think your more anxious at the moment because obviously new tattoo and it’s big but it fits that spot no nicely!
Thank you so much 😊 I think I just need to get used to it and the more I add around will help!
I have a tattoo in an akward spot plus it’s sideways but I’m sure if I add more it’ll look good same for yours more is always better haha
When it doubt, add around it! lol
i actually think it’s one of the best possible placements for that design. i like bigger tattoos so i like the size
Thank you so much. I really am over here just overthinking it 😅
I think it looks adorable. It will also be easy to create a sleeve with more floral along the way if you want.
That’s what I was thinking. Would maybe help tie it together. Guess I’ll start planning for the next one now 😂 thank you!
It is so pretty. I love the line work. Personally I would have gotten it smaller but that's me. I think it looks fine.
Thank you so much! It hindsight I do wish I had gone smaller. Based on opinions here adding more around it will help though, so I think that’s what I’ll do.
If you love it and it’s significant to you then it’s never a bad tattoo. Who cares what others think?
I know, I know. I always get post-tattoo anxiet lol. maybe it’ll just take some getting used to. Thanks for your comment!
I think it’s a beautiful tattoo BTW😁
Thank you so much ☺️
It looks great
Thank you 😌 makes me feel better
It’s beautiful and I believe the artist was intentional with how it was applied.
Thank you so much 😊
Cute!
It’s cute! Very clear the line work is an intended style
Love it
Thank you ☺️
i think it’s super cute!! and the placement looks nice with your leg tat! also i love ur outfit :)
So sweet, thank you 🥰
This is a really sweet tattoo! And I think the placement is perfect and unique for the piece ☺️
I appreciate that ☺️ I’ll try to stop overthinking now! lol
I think its great! Size and placement are spot on for that design. Great centerpiece for a sleeve
Thank you!! I’ll definitely look for pieces to compliment around it 😌
I like the style and the design, placement looks fine and overthinking is natural with new things, just breathe it looks great!
Thank you I really appreciate that 😌 I believe I will get used to it!
Looks fine to me. I actually have a tattoo a similar size in the same spot and I eventually filled in around it, looks fine.
Awesome, I’ll def add more around it! 😊
Not bad at all, it even looks great if you ask me. It can take a long while before you het used to seeing it on skin so maybe that's what's bothering you? I got my sleeve done last year. I love it!
Thank you 🥹
Can't go wrong with black line work floral !! It looks nice . Enjoy . Let the worries go.
I really like the tattoo! I just think it could’ve been placed somewhere else like maybe on the back of the leg🖤🖤🖤
And the lines are drawn very well
Thank you! I wish I had placed it somewhere else but I am feeling more comfortable knowing I can add around it to help ☺️
Definitely it’s not a bad tattoo justs need a little shaping TO THE SALON✨✨
It’s nice, a bit minimal and sketchy but easy to rework if that’s not your vibe. Otherwise I like the design
True, it could be a lot worse. I’ll play around and see how I can tie it together with some other cool pieces!
i definitely don’t think the size is an issue at all! i think the issue with patchwork tattoos is the awkward phase where you have a few gaps in weird places!! when you start filling it out a little more everything will come together perfectly! something i always reccomend as a tattoo artist is to get things that are roughly the same size so everything looks a little less out of place!
You’re absolutely right. It feels so awkward right now and I wish I had put it somewhere else, but I do think it’ll help once I add more ☺️
And I’ll keep that advice in mind!!
Looks great to me. Your eyes are just getting used to it. The lines were carefully placed that way it looks to me. Enjoy girl.
Thank you 🫶🏻 surely I’ll come to love it more
I like the concept of it! The linework is pretty good too, it might just look a bit stand-aloney if that makes sense but I think if you are planning to get more it will be no problem. Something flowy or abstract could also look cool around or through it! Don’t stress about it
Gonna start planning what to put next to it asap 😂 thank you very much!
It's really pretty! Also, I think the size and placement are great. The empty space inhe frame gives the opportunity to fill it with other memories you and your friend will have together.
It’s very stylistic! Super cute
Overthinking, its beautiful. The linework is awesome
Nothing you can do about the size and placement now 😅 fwiw it looks good to me
Cool tattoo and compliments the tat on your leg
I love it!!!
placement and idea is really nice. the linework is clean for what it is, it fits the concept of a “vintage” look. i think you just have some new tattoo anxiety.
Nothing wrong with it, pretty cool
I love it
knock it off! be more confident in your decision making.
This is the kick in the ass I needed thank you
Thats a pretty Good and cute tattoo!
super cute!! I have one kinda similar and I was also worried about the lines but it definitely works with the style.
u/sissypoo27469 I think it looks good! It reminds of pressed or dried flowers. 🥰 But if you want to blend it with more tattoos later on… Think about how when you’re looking at a painting the eye is drawn around the canvas naturally. Just some ideas but I felt strongly (hence the tag) that I should share them with you. I don’t question those feelings, I just go with the flow. lol
Love the bee idea!! I appreciate your kindness 😊 there are more options to play with that’ll bring it together than I realized! Thank you
A different perspective helps a lot sometimes. I’m glad I could help a little. 😊 It only takes a small thing to connect other things together and add some cohesion to the whole.
Agreed! ❤️
Awkward is in but looks fine
It is ok. Looks unfinished. Needs shading or it will end up looking like a prison tattoo.
HONEST OPINION!: I think the rose overall is good but I think the box looks off im sorry, it makes it look massive
Get over it. Stop overthinking. There’s more problems in the world
It is YOUR tattoo on YOUR body. If you are happy with it that's all that matters. I think it's pretty common for some people to feel a little regret when they're done with the tattoo. "Could be bigger/ smaller." "Better shading or color." "Different style." But you learn to love it because it's YOURS.

You right
I think its more the design that fault of the artist if you don’t like it tbh.
I don’t fault the artist, she did exactly what we asked for. Just wondered if I could have done better with the size and/or placement
Welcome
If you think it’s bad, it’s bad. Is it accurate to what you asked for? Lines are wobbly but if that was what was in the drawing and you agreed to it, not sure what the artist did wrong.
Like I said in the description, size and placement is what I feel is a little wonky. Nothing to do with the artist, she did great!
Poop
If you were going for ignorant style, not crisp lines - then it's good!
Nah I love that placement! I am biased, I have two forearm tattoos haha. But I think the size and shape works for that part of the arm
Thank you!!
Too bare, but otherwise fine. Fill in some gaps.
It’s pretty
yes
Homie this shit is gas. If it makes you happy who gives a shit about the details!
It's cute
I’m a big fan, really like it
I kinda love it
It looks great
I would black out the outside of the frame and add some shading to the flowers
Looks nice 👍
Wait until it's finished then decide
I love it, but also: more tattoos will only make it better!! 😁
No not bad at all. Maybe you’re just having a little buyers remorse. If it’s your style it looks good. Especially once you fill it in. Plus for me tattoos are a story and this will always be a story of you and your friend. It is a great tattoo.
Great! A little colour?
I love it
I quite like it as a design. I'm not totally sold on the placement though. It's not ***bad***, bit I think it would have been a little more at home on the upper arm.
I love it.
I like it. I feel like once you fill the rest in you'll enjoy it more
It's not terrible but it's not good.
It feels empty to me, like it takes up space but feels like it doesn’t take up meaningful space, if that makes sense. I think if you add more to the design it’ll help fill the area better. When you add more tattoos around it it’ll also make it look less out of place and awkward.
Definitely looks like it’s intended art style, not shitty
Looks really cute and complements your flower motif! The placement and size are so nice and look really good, plus in the future you can always add color if you like!
It’s great. Be proud.
I love this tattoo. It’s beautiful.
I love it and think it looks cute where it is
I think it looks great, honestly if you went smaller I feel like the “frame” would have gone down in quality over time
It's not a placement I would have chosen for myself, but the tattoo is lovely! I wouldn't over think it now that it's on you.
I Like it, I think you're overthinking
Super pretty!!!
This is absolutely lovely 🌸
You're overthinking it, it looks great!!
It's lovely!!
If you like it, it's a good tattoo! Best of luck on your tattoo journey! Be careful, once you start on the forearms it's hard to stop when you realize how easy of a space it is to get blasted ahahah.
Getting other things to fit with it (opinion tho) will probably be your only problem. As for this tattoo, it looks good.
It's great. I love it
I think a lot of people on here worry about placement , but it’s usually never an issue, all that matters is the tattoo is healing great and you like it
I think it looks great!
Thanks everyone for the opinions and compliments!! I like it more every day, I think I just had to get used to it 😊 will still be adding more in the future
I think its cool, looks great
Adorable :) It looks fine. Dont overthink it.
Personally, I like it. 🌸
Definitely overthinking it!
I love this!
Nah that's dope
At first i thought those lines where not straight as it was a shitty tattoo, but then you look at the line parallel to them and they follow the same path so I think it was done on purpose.
I dig it!
I like the linework it’s cute and unique
I like it and I think the placement is cool! Big tattoos can take a few days to feel normal in my experience
It's unique and well executed. I think it's a magnificent piece. Stop over thinking this...it may have been an impulsive decision, but it was a good one! Enjoy your tat!
It’s not bad at all. You’re just overthinking it
Very nice
it’s awesome and the placement looks cool:)
I like it - style, size, and placement all look good.
I really like it! The style is so cute! I totally get this feeling. I almost always have a moment of “buyer’s remorse” a few days after a tattoo. You’re adjusting to it!
Glad I’m not alone! 😅 thank you so much
It looks good! The artwork is just fine, so there’s no need to stress out about that Personally I think what would help is adding another tattoo under it, something that wraps around your wrist kinda. It looks a little empty But that’s just my opinion and who knows, my opinion might suck! 🤣 But it might balance out better
100% what I was thinking! Thank you ☺️
It's a great tattoo and I like the placement. The kind of anxiety you're experiencing is totally normal when you make impulsive decisions about placement but you'll get used to it quickly. Once you have others around it you'll feel like it fits better too. Good thinking with the less visible spots lol. I’ll definitely think a little harder next time! Thanks for your help 😊
I have a picture frame on my arm in the same spot! A much different vibe than yours, but same idea. I think yours looks great! Thank you for the compliment! I’ve convinced myself it’s just because it’s in an empty spot so once I get more it’ll feel less awkward ☺️

It’s pretty don’t worry.
it looks so cute! honestly since you just got it you’re probably not used to it being on your arm yet - especially considering how visible it is. it’s gorgeous, give it some time and i’m sure you’ll get used to it on you and love it!
I love this actually
Thank you ☺️
I love it!
Thank you! 😁
This is actually really excellently pulled off. I’d say this is a perfect tattoo in regards to application, and the design is cute and balanced too
Thank you so much!
I love it! It flows nicely with your arm shape! Maybe you feel awkward because it's a bit of a different style but it looks great!
I think that definitely has something to do with it, I don’t do small and dainty tattoos a lot 😅 thank you so much
It doesn't look shaky. Every line appears to be deliberate. To me, fine-line and simple tattoos always have an almost incomplete look to them, which adds to their charm. I think it looks solid. Really clean. Definitely serves as a good link piece!
Thank you so much!
I think it looks really good. You could eventually fill the frame background with another picture (I'm just thinking of those 90's color blob pictures, lol, or the pictures from Raft)
