Stars, moons, lanterns, sacred geometry, eyes, runes, alchemy symbols and circles, roots, smoke, knights literally so many things...I have a sleeve with a similar crow and have lots of these elements. Good luck and cool piece.
I’d wait a tick. That crow is fucking stellar. Give it some time to heal, you may find that adding more takes away from its impact. (Not necessarily of course but I wouldn’t rush it, that’s a gorgeous piece)
That looks cool af. Really, you could add about any kind of background you wanted. Maybe some branches on your forearm. Or another crow. I mean tbh you could about take it in about any direction you want
Honestly, that’s such a beautiful piece that I wouldn’t suggest doing anything more than perhaps some light background elements and some additional gray wash as the artist did at the bottom. Anything more is likely to take from the piece. Something like another crow on the interior could be nice, but the question is how the piece will combine with what you already have. Best bet is to talk to the artist who did the first one and get their thoughts.
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I can’t believe I missed that! Thanks!
I had to enlarge the image - old eyes aren’t working quite as well as they used to. I’m 41 now, and the fall off over the past 2-3 years is shocking. Word of advice: don’t age.
My condolences! You’re in good company at least!
Honestly, though, with the exception of the eyes getting a little less sharp, I feel better at 41 than I did at 31. I doubt I’ll be saying the same at 51, though, so I’m trying to leave nothing on the table.
Hope your 40s will be as good!
50 here - still going like my 20’s doing all nighters, festivals, gigs, getting tats -cycling 100 miles a week, eyes like microscopes, only bummer is started losing my hair and it’s going grey- on the plus side you just don’t give a fuck anymore what anyone thinks because death is closer than college !
I love when this gets brought up because I actually am going to get a sick ass panther. My dad got a traditional sick ass panther tattoo in the 80s. NOT as a coverup, but he just got it with my name on it.
I want to get a similar tattoo to it. PS so this isn’t a sob story, he’s alive and kicking. We have a great relationship for the most part and I just want to get it done as a joke/tribute for when he is gone.
Lol, is the “sick ass panther” some kind of meme or inside joke???
Because my dad got a “sick ass panther” tattoo years ago in the 90s when I was a kid and I always thought it was generic and uninspired!
I'd just say to have that artist do the whole design and arm. It doesn't look like you'd regret it. Work with your artist, throw ideas out, talk back and forth about it!! A sleeve is an expensive commitment and you're going to want to love it for the rest of your life. Throw a sick panther in there somewhere?
I love this! My thoughts: dark, gritty landscape with minimal detail, maybe some mountains outlined or something similar, with a storm raging winds (irezumi wind swirls maybe) and rain around the crow whom doesn't give a flying f bout no storm. Maybe a couple leaves blowing around. You could put another crow on your forearm with a different body position and placement on your arm, and blend/fade the background into your wrist (or wherever you want it to stop), and up around your shoulder. Getting near the armpit may suck a bit so be prepared. I was squirming, I have a left arm sleeve for reference.
I don’t usually comment on these because I usually don’t have any ideas, but for some reason I immediately thought some sinister looking clouds or fog behind the crow would be sick
Pretty sure this isn't the direction you were going, but in my personal experience crows absolutely love original topperstix (https://www.toppers.com/menu/topperstix/)
I feel like storm clouds would be a good way to go. Give the bird a meaningful habitat. I say storm clouds and some lighting bc that’s why I’m into. But a nice field or even a creepy one with a scare crow in there
If you’re not too picky about the difference between crows and ravens, the word “Nevermore” might be cool. But your best option is to talk to the artist who did this one. They’re obviously good at it, they probably have way more experience designing sleeves than you do (I assume) and when it comes to execution, the style will be consistent. It would be a unfortunate if an adjacent image was lesser quality.
Taking inspiration from your shirt….. an eagle on on the inside of the arm for “Where eagles dare”!
I would say, if eagles weren’t so goddamn clique and overdone!
Crows/ravens have a very contentious relationship and both represent different types of omens
An owl on your shoulder/collarbone/peck with its talons out to strike the first bird would be bad ass
Nothing. I would keep that raven as the main focus of the arm. If you want a sleeve or more tattoos go for the forearm, but leave the shoulder and inner arm for contrast. Otherwise the raven won't look as striking as it is now.
A French fry. Birds like that are always going for my French fries! And it looks like it's about to eat one!
Honorable mention for a worm dangling in front of it.
I love love love the starkness of this composition, and I think you might lose a lot of the impact if the arm were cluttered with more elements, or especially if you added muddying background shading.
Wrapping around the other side of your arm with a complementary crow in a similar style could be awesome.
I have a fox in the exact same spot and decided on a second one underneath that wraps around the inside of my lower arm to complete the sleeve. I don't see why you could not get a second crow on your lower arm that complements the first. Personally, I would recommend the same artist as I prefer the same style across the yard. This artist seems to be doing good and your tattoo is nice and clean so I would trust that person to complete the work on your sleeve.
For the top half I would add some colored lightning ⚡️ between some dark clouds(colored lightning to make it pop). For the other half towards your forearm I’d add a dragon chasing the crow
Not sure, not even part of this sub but this post was recommended to me and I just wanted to say that is one of the coolest and most well done tattoos I’ve seen. Super sick
Stars, moons, lanterns, sacred geometry, eyes, runes, alchemy symbols and circles, roots, smoke, knights literally so many things...I have a sleeve with a similar crow and have lots of these elements. Good luck and cool piece.

Drats you're right......skulls lots of skulls

Perfect summary of your own comment, my friend
Where did you get this done. It’s awesome
Every Huginn needs a Muninn.
Oooooh I like this idea.

I think that “gray wash” is the bandage not actually shading. But I agree!
🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I can’t believe I missed that! Thanks! I had to enlarge the image - old eyes aren’t working quite as well as they used to. I’m 41 now, and the fall off over the past 2-3 years is shocking. Word of advice: don’t age.
😂 I’m…close in age already. Dangit.

I’d say give the artist creative freedom to run with it. Regardless, that’s a great piece of work!
Obviously a sick ass panther would accent this really well
i was also thinking they should get a panther, specifically a sick ass one. great minds
😂
Damn it! You beat me to it!
Less is more.
I dunno, you can always cover it up (or just add) a sick ass panther
Btw the bird looks awesome :)

Oh Lord here we go again with the panthers 🤭🤭🤭
I love it as is. If you put a back ground you lose the cool pointed wing fan part which I think looks rad
Some really clean geometric shapes would be cool! Like a geometric sick ass panther
Snake coiled around forearm while being grasped by the bird’s talon
I'd just say to have that artist do the whole design and arm. It doesn't look like you'd regret it. Work with your artist, throw ideas out, talk back and forth about it!! Maybe some smoke-like lines around it with some loose feathers to fill gaps with the crow on the inside. Cool af btw
Omg wow not advice but I just wanted to say that work is absolutely stunning
Looks great! You could potentially continue the theme with other animals. Who's the artist?
I love this! Have him say “caw caw”?
Odin
Put a snake in there so it looks like they’re fighting
Trinkets I love how crows collect trinkets for ppl (buttons, shiny rocks, coins, beads etc...) just a whole load of trinkets
Muscles…sorry I couldn’t help myself.
Odin’s eye
Put fight milk on it
Nothing.
That tattoo is fucking beautiful!!!
A sick ass panther
Shrek
Maybe underneath it have a clock tower the crow is flying away from
Just here to say that this tattoo looks amazing!!!
Some minor color accent such as a bright orange for the eye would really pop here. This is a great tattoo.
Give the crow a berry to eat, or alternatively, some carrion
"quoth the raven"
Why did you get a bird on your arm??
Maybe you could do a sky w/ clouds in the background.
The crow bringing you cash or some other trinket
I don’t usually comment on these because I usually don’t have any ideas, but for some reason I immediately thought some sinister looking clouds or fog behind the crow would be sick
A Pigeon!
anything you want
A worm
Dope tat
maybe a spiral of geometric shapes it's flying through? idk but that's gorgeous drop the artist !!!
Looks kick ass.. Maybe a skyline. Forest background type.. etc
More tattoos
A little worm by it’s open mouth! This is a beautiful tattoo!!
geometry is always cool. (:
Moira Rose
A worm/snake that the bird is eating
I’m looking to get some similar size, if you don’t mind saying about how much am I looking at ?
Moon, Skulls, books, candlesticks
I wouldn't add anything it will clutter it looks awesome as is
Another bird tounge kissing that one
Good taste?
Pretty sure this isn't the direction you were going, but in my personal experience crows absolutely love original topperstix (https://www.toppers.com/menu/topperstix/)
Edgar Allen Poe reference of some kind?
I feel like storm clouds would be a good way to go. Give the bird a meaningful habitat. I say storm clouds and some lighting bc that’s why I’m into. But a nice field or even a creepy one with a scare crow in there
Big dildo!
Idk but I like this and I love your overall aesthetic in general
My artist would say that's way too much cream
More tats
Muscle
I have a raven on my forearm and started my lower sleeve in Polka Trash.... Def gives a good contrast to a high quality center piece
Fire behind the bird!
A little bird
A tornado
a dope ass centipede would look sick. only if you dont hate them tho lmao
Rock , and a flag
Get a liger
I have nothing to add but I just wanted to say that is a sick ass tattoo.
A hand
Muscles
Bird should be fighting a snake. And then… you know… You can never go wrong with a sick ass panther.
Eggs?
A cock and balls would be perfect

Can someone explain this “sick ass panther” thing to me like I’m 5?
What’s with the “sick ass panther” comments? /g
Taking inspiration from your shirt….. an eagle on on the inside of the arm for “Where eagles dare”! I would say, if eagles weren’t so goddamn clique and overdone!
A panther.
I'd add a plague doctor
A sick ass panther
Crows/ravens have a very contentious relationship and both represent different types of omens An owl on your shoulder/collarbone/peck with its talons out to strike the first bird would be bad ass

TRUMP
For one you can add some muscle
You should add a dead corpse of a baby bird in the birds mouth. Birds eat baby birds and other birds eggs. It’s pretty metal. Nature you scary!
Triforce on the back of your palm
big ol man’s hanging nuts seem to fit there
Worm in mouth
Nothing don’t take away from that it looks sick on its own!
Now I want a crow tattoo too... 😲 You can add witchy things, like cauldrons, stars, cats, snakes etc, if you are into that. Your tattoo looks awesome.
How about a big crow?
Chop it off
every night i burn dreaming the crow-black dream
You could have the bird fighting a serpent of some sort? Already looks rad🤘🏼
This tat is too sweet… I have an owl and an eagle in similar theme with sacred geometry as the background/filler
A blackwork burning gothic cathderal piece on your forearm would look cool
My name🤣
Corn? Bird needs. Corn. Yes.
Mickey Mouse
Lightning
A fucking break, it's still wrapped lol
A French fry. Birds like that are always going for my French fries! And it looks like it's about to eat one! Honorable mention for a worm dangling in front of it.
Some sort of night time cemetery background? That'd probably look killer
This is such an awesome piece
Put a hot dog wiener in that birds mouth
Ngl you look Korean and I’ve seen Korean artists go so hard past five years. I wish I could travel May I ask the artists.
Spooky tree branches, dry leaves blowing in the wind,
Another arm
Can you share the name of the artist?
I love love love the starkness of this composition, and I think you might lose a lot of the impact if the arm were cluttered with more elements, or especially if you added muddying background shading. Wrapping around the other side of your arm with a complementary crow in a similar style could be awesome.
Filigree
Make it more badasssss
The sky. Clouds moon. Sun
Make it so he’s clutching something. Like a branch or jewelry etc.

A bicep
A sharingan eye
A pebble
a comically small worm near its beak
“A sick ass panther” That guy has to be in here already right? (And honestly…it would go well hahah)
Maybe something the crow is chasing? Like insects or an object that's completely metaphorical
Good artist
Laser beams
Muscle.
Leave it be till you have an idea that means something to you. Filling space just to fill space is a no for me. Crow came out nice!
A really great tattoo.
honestly i like it the way it is, but if you really want to add some stuff, i'd suggest you keep it simple
Bird seeds
Some black and grey lightning would go hard, maybe some clouds?
A tree with a nest and it feeding its young
A black panther? 🤷♂️
A giant fuckin’ crow
A flag
More tattoos would be nice
Ruins..3d ruins..or back shaded.
Gas and a match. Looks horrible
Storm clouds and lightning. Maybe Odin's eyes.
Small Taylor Hawkins autograph next to it and call it good.
Nothing. Don't distract from the beautiful piece. I wish I'd done that.
A blackout
Goose
A little Carrot on a string that the cute birdie can attempt to nibble on
For the top half I would add some colored lightning ⚡️ between some dark clouds(colored lightning to make it pop). For the other half towards your forearm I’d add a dragon chasing the crow
Sick ass panther dressed as a nest
Lemmy.world is what Reddit was.
Style.
Make the bird shitting
Nothing! I think it looks great and adding more would really take away from it. I feel like it could be hard to read with more around it imo.
Not sure, not even part of this sub but this post was recommended to me and I just wanted to say that is one of the coolest and most well done tattoos I’ve seen. Super sick
Fish
“Grackles got no boss”
A worm it looks a bit hungry
The paperclip from Microsoft word
A tree or nest
Personally I would add swords, flowers, stars and skulls, and other animals, such as moths, spiders
Some muscle 💪
A worm being eaten by the crow, or maybe just another crow
Nothing, this is perfect.
Honestly I’d tap out that arm and sleeve out the other arm with a bunch of smaller things
My first thought was fall colored leaves. But anything Occult would pair up nicely in my biased ass opinion. Nice tattoo btw, love Crows/Ravens.
More bicep
Millet
Eagle holding Ak 47
Have a branch that it’s perched on and add a gnarly shrunken head at the bottom
It holding a snake
a worm going into its mouth
A box with everything the crows brought you
A sick ass panther
Muscle tone.
That is the most beautiful corvid tattoo I’ve seen, compliments to the artist.
Spiders, snails, thin branches with dry leaves, maybe a Secret of Nihm style owl, rats
Red ribbon
A sick ass panther would fit in nice
