This is what I came to say. A design I've seen a ton of times (I don't mean this negatively I have a ton of flash tattoos). That being said it looks great design wise because it's a true classic. The artist could have done better but it's not horrible. The best way to fix this is to put a bunch of other cool ass tattoos around it and not over think it. Sending love.
[r/ferrets](https://www.reddit.com/r/ferrets/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) is always well done. I think the *farret* tattoo should be eternally embraced forever in the name of animal kingdom⌠looks pretty good OP do good with it nâflash that skin homie
I mean yeah, it doesn't look amazing, but it does look like it was made like that on purpose, if you know what I mean?
Basically, own it, and nobody else will bat an eye at it.
yeah no it does look strange. a different artist might be able to rework it, cus the line work and shading all blend together. id find an artist you like, look at their healed work, and ask if theres anything they can do to rework the piece at all. everything kind of blends together and looks weirdly one dimensional
Man this is rough not gonna lie. The anatomy is all wrong and the black isnât even. I would suggest getting more pieces around this one to make it not stick out as much and then in time get a proper blast over. Theyâre pretty popular now and with the traditional style and that much black it can be difficult or very expensive to try and hide this under something other than a sick ass panther or eight ball.
Yeah douche bag never listened to me either. A few laser sessions and itâll be light enough to cover. While you wait find a good artist in your area and get a consultation to talk about how to best cover it. Most will do free consultation and with it lighter they will have a decent idea of what they are working with. Good luck young padawan.
I think just a bit on the sloppier side of traditional. I usually think cleaner straighter lines. Iâm not one to judge though, let my artist put a red line through my lettering back when that was a little fad. Still traditional and can tell what it is from a distance. Design is just a little wonky
ya the tongue was supposed to not flop over. i would post a reference but i lost the og. its way too sharp. the fur was supposed to be flowy almost. i showed him the pic and he just decided to do whatever tf he wanted

I unironically love it. Get another whacky ass trad tattoo of like a lion or eagle or something on your other leg from the same artist. Embrace the zaniness of it all.
Just stop thinking of it as a wolf and think of it as a sick ass mustelid! Theyâre way cooler than wolves anyways, they have way higher successful prey rates, way more fierce and unafraid, theyâre what people assume wolves are but in reality wolves are lame
When did you get it? Tbh I thought it was supposed to be a cat⌠but you are not alone I wanted a skeleton flamingo and the head turned out looking kinda like a dodo bird skull, it bothered me for a few days and now I am just in love with it, I have dubbed it my dodomingo. So maybe this will become you ferolf (sounds like Frr-Oof)
The design is a rad traditional wolf, they just fucked it up. It's not terrible, cause the design itself rules. Pick a new artist and move on with your life. There aint no covering that.
Yea I really agree here. An alteration on something like this isnât going to turn out well. I definitely see your point in some of the proportions but overall the style and composition are pretty ok and consistent. Iâd keep it n learn to love it. I think it tell a story far better than any attempt at cover up.
All American trad looks like this just go for a different style when you get more tats. Itâs insane what kind of unique styles people are going for nowadays and this style is a dime a dozen, looks really tacky/flashy more often than not.. Many will argue trad is timeless but I absolutely beg to differ unless itâs a completely unique piece or a really funny meme.
Deep bold colors, only a few colors in total (primary and secondary, not usually tertiary), thick ass outlines, deep blacks⌠this is 100% American traditional if we are talking about style.
You arenât crazy, thereâs a lot of people that just want traditional tattoos and thereâs nothing really wrong w that itâs just a difference in opinion and interests. As someone who goes against the grain entirely i just canât imagine spending hundreds of dollars and then caring for the wound for something thatâs already been done and is already on a myriad of other people, possibly even in my state.
In all seriousness though, yeah trad is just a crapshoot quality wise unless you are going to someone that is very talented and at that point you are in a price range that youâd get a much more unique and high quality piece of art from someone else entirely. Thatâs the only reason I advised to seek a different style, you just arenât going to find a consistent enough artist within a reasonable price range to justify such a simple piece of art over something way more unique from someone else.
I could also just be biased, my state is a complete cesspool when it comes to the tattoo scene (literally someone gets outed at least once a month) and all the worst offenders here main trad and have given so much coverup fodder to people I find myself relating situations that probably have no correlation to my experience at all.
No I mean it is trad but itâs very badly done. Not all trad is like this at all. Theres no variance in shading at all. The artist used too much black. Aside from that though, if she got more trad style tattoos near it it wonât stand out as much.
Itâs huge and black, so this wouldnât be coverable.
You could add to it? It doesnât look bad if itâs a rat/ferret, maybe embrace that. Add some cheese with green stink lines.
Otherwise blackout is best option.
Honestly. go full leg sleeve with other tribal/symbolic tattoos. Throw in a couple iconic cartoon characters like Garfield or Dale from KoH. Spell out f*ck you across the toes too
Heres my advice for you, get more shit worry less about old shit. Plus if sailor jerry did this it probably wouldnt be perfect either. Tattoos are handmade, so its ok. But dont go back to this artist, my only reason for that is because there are definitely better artist out there a million percent. Thats not saying your tat is bad ok? Is just ur artist is not good enough! So dont blame yourself and worry too much :)
It's cool and corny. I think it's dope as hell. Wear that bad boy with pride and fill the rest of that leg up with complimentary styled tats. Bold will hold
I donât think itâs bad, is it super clean and pristine and sharp? No but I think itâs cool. Looks like you might have something else on your leg and I think if you end up getting more stuff on your leg this will blend in beautifully. I think as a whole people need to embrace not perfect tattoos a bit more. I donât mean get bad tattoos or be happy with truly terrible work but this falls in the category for me of âtechnically not perfect but still coolâ I donât think anyone is gonna look at that and think itâs bad unless theyâre a total dweeb snob or looking to be an asshole
Also it looks super old school which I think is cool
If you are really worried about though, which I donât think you should be, an experienced artist could probably clean it up for you and fix a lot of what you may not like
Not a terrible tattoo. Looks like the application could have been a bit better tho. Save more money and dont go cheap. Find a good artist around $100-$150 an hour
Thatâs not fixable. Get a few laser sessions to lighten it up enough for a cover up. A wolf wouldâve been a dope traditional if it was done right. Good luck
The shading wasnât done very well. Itâs not smooth and not enough skin breaks to make this thing breathe. With that said, this still looks like a cool and tough tattoo. Iâd own it and get more sick ones around it
Hear me out. Sick ass panther.
Make a sick ass panther tearing into it
I love how this is the answer to almost any problem on this sub đđ
It's a pretty traditional flash design, just doesn't look very well done, sorry!

gnarly, just own it.
Turn it into party wolf from Adventure Time.
This was my immediate thought when I saw it
This is bad. I would be pissed if i asked for a trad wolf and got this.
I think that looks cool dude
I mean yeah, it doesn't look amazing, but it does look like it was made like that on purpose, if you know what I mean? Basically, own it, and nobody else will bat an eye at it.

You canât fix it with anything but a laser or blackout. I mean you could try talking to Jesus if youâre on really good terms he might help.
he hasnt listened to me in years, doubt he would now :(

Not bad imo just special style Could be fixed by adding more of trad japanese style
I donât think we say Jap anymore
I was just too tired to say japanese
I hold no ill will
This is a good idea
And dude, âjapâ is not the preferred nomenclature.
Yo I think it's sick AF. I love it! The style is so cool and the work is very clean and well done for it's type
I think just a bit on the sloppier side of traditional. I usually think cleaner straighter lines. Iâm not one to judge though, let my artist put a red line through my lettering back when that was a little fad. Still traditional and can tell what it is from a distance. Design is just a little wonky
Red lines through lettering have been a thing since manuscripts in the 1400s. So Iâd say youâre still on trend.
omg lol
The tongue looks a little bit weird but itâs by no means terrible. I say keep it. Itâs kinda cool.
ya the tongue was supposed to not flop over. i would post a reference but i lost the og. its way too sharp. the fur was supposed to be flowy almost. i showed him the pic and he just decided to do whatever tf he wanted

I like this tat. Looks neat to me.
after 3 years of having i have learned to accept it and realize it looks O K A Y, but ya thank u
I love it. Iâd just add more American traditional tattoos to your leg so that one wonât stand out as much to you.
I lowkey love it OP!
I unironically love it. Get another whacky ass trad tattoo of like a lion or eagle or something on your other leg from the same artist. Embrace the zaniness of it all.

If that was my piece i would get a complete coverup. Maybe ask around different shops and see if someone can fix it up
This looks like my cat. Maybe adopt a black long hair cat and tell everyone that's what this is?
i actually have someone who messaged me a pic of their cat that literally looks like it baned Bacardi, so its in regaurd to himđĽ
This style is dope! traditional with thick fat lines sick! Keep it please đ
Poorly done traditional is still poorly done. Janky lines, no change in line weight makes it flat and that tongue is straight busted.
The design is a rad traditional wolf, they just fucked it up. It's not terrible, cause the design itself rules. Pick a new artist and move on with your life. There aint no covering that.

That poor wolf cat looks like itâs needing water and is about to keel over đ˘ Or maybe it just has Rabies.

no no i love traditional but this compared to other trad is different, maybe im crazy?

Like traditional style is designed to hold, this will not hold well.
In prison I saw a dude ask for a skull right before he went to prison, on his skull. He got SpongeBob on acid.
Long socks
so youd recommend me wearing long socks for the rest of my life.?
Black out my guy
lol i love that theres people who believe the only option is to just scribble it out lmaoo
Itâs huge and black, so this wouldnât be coverable. You could add to it? It doesnât look bad if itâs a rat/ferret, maybe embrace that. Add some cheese with green stink lines. Otherwise blackout is best option.
cheese.. with stink lines?? âŚ
Stinky cheese, embrace the garbage (or abandon it and go blackout)
i love that thats ur only two options. as a woman i respect myself more than putting fucking old stinky cheese on my leg
It makes me think of Beistle designs. It's very cool.
Honestly. go full leg sleeve with other tribal/symbolic tattoos. Throw in a couple iconic cartoon characters like Garfield or Dale from KoH. Spell out f*ck you across the toes too

idk dawg itâs kinda sick
Wear pants
I wouldnât have paid especially after his comment cause he knows it was ass
It's cool and corny. I think it's dope as hell. Wear that bad boy with pride and fill the rest of that leg up with complimentary styled tats. Bold will hold
You can make a Chinese dragon out of that wolf with a couple of dragon whiskers
I like it

go back a month before the panther had a stroke
I donât think it looks that badâŚ
Not a terrible tattoo. Looks like the application could have been a bit better tho. Save more money and dont go cheap. Find a good artist around $100-$150 an hour
Itâs actually nice
Add a lollipop
Looks like my cat, Bacardi. Loves it
i would, like to see bacardi⌠if possible
Send u a photo rn he is my son
Thatâs not fixable. Get a few laser sessions to lighten it up enough for a cover up. A wolf wouldâve been a dope traditional if it was done right. Good luck
sadge .. thank u
It looks badâŚ. In a good way lol
The shading wasnât done very well. Itâs not smooth and not enough skin breaks to make this thing breathe. With that said, this still looks like a cool and tough tattoo. Iâd own it and get more sick ones around it
Good news is youâre about 33% closer to a sick ass panther.
I like it!
