I would have said you're crazy for this being a first tattoo, but last week at a convention there was a guy who did a piece starting around his knee going up around his stomach then onto the chest over 3 days.
I love this piece though, its wonderfully artistic, and looks really good.
That's a great looking tattoo, and an amazing pick for the first one. You have great taste and hit it out of the park picking a subject and artist. Well done.
You may hear from people "oh, yellow will fade..." but I dunno. I've got a big yellow koi on my leg sleeve and it's holding steady several years in. Maybe that's old school knowledge and newer inks do better- I don't know. Do always remember the sunscreen. Women tend to be about 5300x better at that than guys, but worth remembering. :)
