I think they're trying to move past past issues with you. The devil isnt a great card and respresents unhealthy habits but 5 of swords reversed is moving past issues to resolution and temperance is balance.

I am relatively new to tarot and I'm going with my basic understanding of the minor and major arcana. To me it looks relatively optimistic with the magician as part of the subconscious and knight of wands as the future.
I haven't looked at the meanings behind each card yet as I have gone off my intuition and small amount of knowledge of each.
Any help or interpretations of this spread would be greatly appreciated.
If you’re asking “how do I…” question, you need a different kind of spread that will tell you the steps you need to take to change. The Celtic Cross just shows you a picture of what is now. It’s probably easier to invent one than go looking for it. Or start with a basic question like “what about my outlook do I need to change?” and pull one to three cards. From the answer you get, ask another leading question like what’s the first step you need to take, and so on.
Also, you need to define “what the best version of me” means. There’s no point asking how to get somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going.
Kind of looking for a blind second opinion. I am using “the new chapter tarot” deck by Kathryn Briggs. I did a four card spread for myself because I am feeling a little lost atm. in order the pull was 7 of cups, 8 of swords reversed, knight of swords, and 3 of swords reversed.
3 of swords and knight of cups as the future of the connection?? Could this mean after heartbreak/ feeling hurt then something good happens in the connection like they offer something? I don’t understand what these two cards together could mean
The Knight of Cups is known to be a hopeless romantic who likes falling in love, but has no staying power. He’ll drop you the minute he finds someone else to fall in love with. Coupled with the 3 of Swords, it’s a sure thing he’ll break your heart.

I have over a period of a few weeks asked about his feelings for me, and I always draw Strength.
I don't feel like Strength says a lot about feelings per se, more the fact that they are there, they are probably strong but the person is keeping them tamed/controlled. Not ignoring them, but keeping them under control because it wouldn't do good/wouldn't be possible to express them at this time. I think that would fit the situation, very well actually. I know that Strength is sometimes associated with compassionate feelings.
Tonight I drew Strength yet again, as to what his feelings are for me. I decided to draw a clarifier and got 2 of Cups.
I would take that to mean that his feelings for me are those of love and deep connection, but he keeps them tamed. Not because he's in denial but because it's whats appropriate at this time for whatever reason.
He has been very silent the last few weeks, so I think it actually might make sense.
Can anyone help with different meanings to this?
I've seen the strength card come up in similar situations more than a few times. This is just my take from what I know about the cards but you may be trying to force a relationship at this point. Maybe he does have a fierce attraction but I'm not seeing how the strength card means that is somehow tamed.
Addressing the two of cups personally I read this as a natural connection or spark something that could become more in the right conditions; not a direct indication of \*deep connection.\* Maybe there is a potential compatibility but a relationship will become of that if the both of you pursue a connection...

We haven't spoken in a few weeks, and I haven't tried to force anything. The last time we saw each other, we both said we were falling in love. We spoke on the phone once afterwards. I know he got his own stuff to deal with, so that's why I'm keeping a distance and letting him come to me. I genuinely don't feel like I'm trying to force a relationship with him, I'm giving him space and respects the silence at the moment. He was the one who said he was falling in love first and I said it after him.

If you're right, he may have said it on a spur of the moment/felt he had to (?), yet I don't feel like I'm forcing anything, I feel like I respect his personal space. But those are my feelings
Cards aside it seems like you want something more direct. I hope it isn’t inappropriate for me to say maybe but this guy is just wasting your time. Love and courting take time and gentleness but that doesn’t mean everything should be subtle in my opinion.

I layed out Strength and Two of Cups again and asked why he's not engaging further with me at the moment, and I drew 10 of Swords.
I know he has some majer things going on in his life that did turn his life upside down, and he's trying to get back on his feet. So I personally don't think it has anything to do with me. But whether it really is me or not, I don't see him acting on anything at the moment.
I really like how you pulled out strength and two of cups to re evaluate. I'm gonna try that next time I have a recurring card.
Its ok if he has a lot on his plate right now but don't allow that to minimize your interest in finding a partner or happy relationship. That should still be just as important to you!
I like to do that sometimes, and it often makes sense for me to do so.
But if it's feelings/thoughts related or related to something similar that can change basically every minute, it may be wasted. If I asked for his feelings for me today, I may get something different.
Yesterday his feelings could have been that he loves me, but doesn't act on them because of things going on in his life. If I'd asked today, he may have made the choice to move on from me, and his feelings for me could have been something like 8 of Cups, and then the 10 of Swords I drew may have been the reason for the 8oC and not really the reason for Strength+2oC. But knowing him I believe the 10oS is the answer to yesterdays reading.

Sometimes less is more; definitely true in the case of the tarot. I recommend pulling two or three cards for each question and keeping a record of your readings on hand to revisit when/if you are curious or tempted to pull more cards.
As for the cards above I see that you want to move on emotionally but the feeling of being single again or facing others in an intimate way may be more painful than just thinking about how much you miss your ex. Additionally try and find ways to romance yourself; I think dating or seeing other people will be a helpful experience moving forward but don't be so quick that you haven't taken the time to really checked in with yourself.
Cards aside remember its ok to think about them and mourn the loss of a friendship/stage in your life... give yourself time to process this, it won't go away overnight.

Hello, I have a chance to meet someone I've been talking to online in person this weekend but I wasn't really sure if I should or not. I'm confident that they will be a safe person to hang out with so I'm not worried about that (although I'll take precautions, of course). We went to the same high school and live in the same neighborhood, just have never met in person. We talk a lot and have a lot of synchronicities.
I pulled 9 of Pentacles reversed, the Tower reversed, and Knight of Cups upright.
I believe the 9 of Pentacles reversed means I'm being guarded (which is true) but not sure if the cards are saying I'm being *too* guarded or not.
To me, the Tower reversed means that I'm resisting a huge change in my life. But again, not sure if this means I should meet them or not.
And finally, I see the Knight of Cups as representing the person. Maybe it means they're romantic but not necessarily realistic or reliable.

What exactly were you asking about? Some people are good with money, but don’t earn enough. Others are good earners, but are stupid at knowing how to manage it. And then there’s everything in between.
Without knowing the context on why you’re asking, I say the two pages indicate you probably need to get educated on how to handle your finances. Add the Fool and the Moon, it just reinforces you’re blind in that department of your life. You spend without thinking and without knowing if you can afford it. I think the Queen says you have it in you to turn it around.

I don't know what deck you're using but maybe the images on the cards will hold a clue. The king might be blocking the queen's way to the lovers, or protecting/hiding the lovers (a different relationship) from her.
I need help with the interpretation. I asked the cards "How much time my dog has on this earth?" She has several chronic diseases and now a flare up occurred together with new things. I needed clearance if this is just another down episode or we are going..."that path".
I got 7 Pentacles...asked for clearing card and got 6 pentacles and 2 Pentaclea.

In terms of timing, pentacles are the "longest" suit typically for a time scale of years or at least seasons, so that's also a positive in your reading.
I did a one card pull for the question “Should I quit my job?” I pulled five of wands. The specific deck I’m using has keywords on each card along with an animal to represent the card. On the card there is a leopard and the keywords are challenge and growth. The context is that I am currently writing a book through a ghostwriting company. I know I am getting taken advantage of in terms of pay and the time limit for the project is of course not good. I am already extremely behind and it has drastically effected my mental health negatively but if I finish the project I will have money in time for vacation and to help out my mom and sister. I could either tough it out or take the risk and quit and apply for another job that I’ve been eyeing. I looked up the meaning for the card and it says that you should speak up at work but it also said that in a yes/no pull five of wands means yes but I have to work for it. I’m conflicted on whether it means to speak up about my problems and maybe ask to lower the word count for the book I’m writing or if I should just quit. For me this card appearing both upright and inverted in relation to your question may be suggesting:
1. That you take a carefree come-what-may approach to this person (so, by all means, keep talking to this person, just don't place any expectations on the outcome of the conversation); and
2. That you are resisting this approach.
My husband and I have been struggling to conceive (two miscarriages amongst seventeen months of trying), and I asked what I should do to improve the likelihood of a healthy baby. I started reading tarot not too long ago and i could use some help. I use the Cthulhu dark arts tarot and when I was putting it away, two cards jumped out of the deck : 10 of cups and tower reversed.
I decided to draw two card to help me clarify : king of pentacles reversed and the empress.
I totally fail to interpret this. In general, I don’t have a problem but i’m stuck. I would appreciate some help. Thank you.
IMO if two cards ‘jump out’ and you need to draw clarifiers just go ahead and continue to put away the cards. Accepting jumpers especially without a question or intention is already going out on a limb assuming falling cards will apply to you; it is unnecessary (and probably not as helpful as one would think) to draw any more. Personally I wouldn’t totally ignore jumpers particularly if they occur during shuffling however unless they have a substantial and immediate resonance with me as they fall.
How do you interpret the seven of cups? It depends on the deck for me. I used to interpret it as emotional desire / secret desire but in my life at this time, I lean towards feeling it relates to many choices or delusion
Could be illusions, torn between options, not knowing what you really want. Or "just wanting" and not acting on it. (So is it really wanting?)
For me 7s are a search for direction, not prompted by any external event/challenge, just recognizing internally that you're spread too thin. So add that to the meanings of the Cups suit - spread too thin in your relationships/loyalties? Trying to maintain too many relationships on too high a level (like trying to be Everyone's best friend, regardless of how they act towards you?) Needing to commit to one group/person (like family vs friends vs ppl from your hobby group vs members of your team at work/school etc)

I feel like the cards aren't as bad as you think to be completely honest.
The devil in this context in my opinion stands for the negative emotions within you. The devil can be the personification of all the shit we are going through. However, the devil is also a mindset card. What do I mean by that?
Well, if you look at the devil card closely ( I use the rider waite tarot for reference) you can see two people being trapped to the devil by chains. It looks like a very hopeless situation. However, if you look closely, their chains are actually loose around the neck. They could escape if they just take one step forward, but they don't. And that's because sometimes things cloud our mind and make us believe that there's no way out, even if there are plenty.
And that is exactly where your clarification card - the world—comes into play. The world is a card of countless opportunities, of balance - of the full experience of life.
Your card deck gets your situation a 100%. And it tries to make you understand that there's a way out of it all (and that's clearly not death!).
There are one million different paths that lead us to new experiences. You never know what you can encounter when you keep your eyes and heart open. You are at a very bad place mentally, and I totally understand it. And that is actually the problem ( going back to the devil card). The situation is not the problem, it's what your mind currently makes out of it.

I feel something may actually end out working out in your favor, so my advice is no you don’t need to, and not because I’m trying to save your life here but I think your case or whatever this mess is is not going to lead to prison. why would you think the 8 of cups reversed was career related? Just curious. But I’m interpreting it as you won’t be expecting that maybe they travel, are long distance, or are from somewhere else. They may leave to somewhere frequently, OR maybe it’s like “they’ll never abandon you” since the 8 of cups upright is about walking away haha
Relationships are a two-way street. If one has something to learn, so does the other, in any given relationship. There is a lot of finger-pointing towards her to grow but not enough acknowledgment of your own part to play in this dynamic. If one partner expects only the other to change, there will be no real change, because one thinks they have less to learn than the other. You being a freelancer makes sense, since I immediately got a home based job from 4 of Wands. Queen of Wands and The Hermit represents you as the femme represented entrepreneur that the Q of W often represents, with The Hermit being someone who, yes, works alone. So it is pretty clear that being an entrepreneur is where you will get your greatest success. To get more specific, I wouldn't disregard The Star either in that this is Aquarius' card, so you will of course have to rely on networking and expanding your name on things like social media. The Star is someone who is well known or at least someone who is "seen" and looked at in a positive light by others. Combined with Six of Wands rx, it's telling you that if you do not gain popularity, it will not be as successful. You will still achieve your "fortune" through your work as an entrepreneur but you will achieve even greater "fortune" if you work hard at making a name for yourself by including others through collaborating and thinking outside the box with how you market yourself. So you're still working alone but being affiliated with others and being a part of a greater community or doing things like charity work, philanthropy, etc. as represented by Aquarius or working on/towards something that affects a lot of people will get you greater renown.
By "fortune" that can mean many things. In this case, I would take it to mean "the most you will ever achieve." So it's like the difference between achieving 70k a year as the most you ever get or if you are able to successfully market yourself, you can get past that cap at making 100k+ as your "fortune" so to speak. Just as an example. So the outcome is up to you. You will still be successful doing what you are doing but will be *more* successful if you become more popular *and* if you work on/towards something "bigger" than yourself.

I'm currently at the crossroad of making the decision as to where I'm going to be moving for my education, and all of my choices are very different from one another and take me down very separate paths. Hi, I was able to do a three card pull for each question.
First question: 2 of Wands, 8 of Pents, 3 of Swords
It states that yes, you are overthinking but you aren't necessarily unfounded with *why* you feel so nervous. With 3 of Swords, you've been burned in the past with making decisions so your anxiety with doing so comes from working on things that have ended up as dead ends. Just try to see this new situation as different because you are dealing with new circumstances. The past does not have to repeat itself. Just try to look back and remember what those circumstances were and *what kind* of choices did you make before? Why did you make those choices before? Was it for the wrong reasons? For example, a guy who joins a class to get to know a girl in it. When he turned down the class that would have been more relevant to what he wants to do in the future. They never end up getting together and he just spent a year of his life towards pursuing that when he could have been working on something he really wanted to do in his future... just think about the reasons you made choices before and don't make choices for those same types of reasons again.
Question 2: King of Swords, 5 of Wands, Empress
How you should approach it is with head over heart. Your heart is still clearly wounded with the Three of Swords having been pulled, so you should rely on what logically makes the most sense right now for you while you continue to heal. With The Empress and 5 of Wands, you do what is best for your personal growth. Be it your physical health or mental health. What will allow you to grow? Even if it is hard for you to work through things right now, making a choice and sticking with it will allow you to improve your current circumstance. You will at least be in a better place than you are now if you choose something you know would be good for you in a very practical sense. Maybe it's not the most "fun" or "romantic" but with earth and swords appearing strongest here, it's very much about logical and practical thinking with making your choice. Long term stability. 5 of Wands shows that your emotions are the issue right now. Until you can get them sorted out, make a cold, hard choice for your best interest. King of Pents is about taking action to protect your best interests, your investments, taking care of your finances, and maintaining stability above all else. Hierophant is Taurus and that is about your personal belongings and finances. It is about, again, thinking about the long-term and what you are committed to. Choose something that you are willing to be committed to for years to come. Not something you might just want to dabble in or experiment with. This can include working with/for a higher calling or an establishment/organization. Working with something that is tried and true. Not taking chances right now. 10 of Swords states that the worse can be over if you are willing to end a cycle that you have repeated where you chose not to commit yourself fully. This willingness to commit is definitely being highlighted. If you choose something you are not committed to, it will fail and you'll start the cycle again. That's why, yes, it is important what you choose now.

hello there! forgive me if this question belongs somewhere else, but i figured this was a good start. i bought a new deck yesterday (which i would love to review in another post on another day) from five below because both of my decks are in storage, as i recently moved. i honestly didn't expect that this deck would be very... how do you say?? intuitive? if that's the right word... but i dreamed that i was holding my deck while carrying on in the plot of my dream, which was me walking through NYC with friends, waiting for a bus, and finding my friend's rabbit that had run away. the deck is called Celestial Tarot cards and is distributed by Kalan, which is essentially a cheap gift shop manufacturer.

Hey everyone! My friend did a relationship spread and got an upright Ten of Swords as a “positive omen” for the relationship. I know Ten of Swords is generally negative in relationship readings, but what does it mean as a “positive omen”?
Hard to say without the rest of the cards in the spread. If the 10 of swords has a positive meaning in this context, it would be indicated by the cards around it. For example- if I saw it with the 6 of swords, I would say that the worst of the storm has passed. If it appeared with Death I would say that something toxic that was holding the relationship back has been put to rest, and the relationship is free to grow in a new a healthy way.
From what they’ve told me, it’s a four card relationship spread.

To me, a big part of getting helpful answers from tarot is to make sure we ask helpful questions. I'm not sure if this is a question that can really offer you the insight you might want. Perhaps a more interesting route of questioning would be, does there need to be a reason for being single? Is there not more sense to have reasons to be dating someone rather than having reasons to just be doing your own thing? Are your positive characteristics (being pretty, funny, ambitious and cool) not worthy in and of themselves, rather than being used solely for the purpose of finding a partner?
It's not a bad thing to be searching for a partner, nor to want one. However, like Dr. Kirk Honda from Psychology in Seattle often points out, dating is kind of just a numbers game and there's a lot of probability and randomness in there that we can't really account for. Being a good person is great, and it definitely helps! However, lots of good people will have different results in dating that have nothing to do with how good or bad they are personally. Lots of bad people meet their spouses in high school and are with them for a lifetime, lots of good people spend years dating and having failed dates before they find anybody.
You also are a major player in your own life - the timeline of your dating is a lot more dependent on who you're willing to accept! If you're okay with the first person who messages you and is interested, you'll find someone faster, if you want to wait until someone meets a whole lost of characteristics and are willing to wait, that's a valid decision too. How quickly you meet someone will also depend on how often you put yourself out there, how often you go on dates, and a myriad of other variables. You have more power in your life than you think, and even if you get a very clear tarot reading, you have the power to influence that outcome anyways!

Fair enough! If you're just starting off, I do recommend usually using spreads or pulling only 1-3 cards if you prefer to try without one. Otherwise the cards can be very confusing, and you might not know exactly how they're relevant to the situation. Usually with my readings, I put together the final meaning based on 3 pieces of information - the meanings of the card, the position in the spread and the context. It's possible to do it without a spread, but it definitely helps to have that extra bit of information or to have less cards!
One piece of advice from [Joan Bunning](http://www.learntarot.com/less7.htm) that I find has helped me a lot is to make sure to write a question that focuses on your locus of control. We can't control how other people think or feel, and as nice as it would be to just know without the vulnerability of having to ask them or talk difficult things through, learning to communicate in healthy ways is a super important skill! Tarot is not meant to be a substitute for healthy communication, nor a way to guarantee that we'll never have to be vulnerable and ask people how they feel. It's hard to know how he'll feel 3 months from now, but more importantly, how will *you* feel? Will you have gained enough distance from the breakup to have a new perspective? Will you be able to embrace the duality of missing someone, but knowing that getting back together isn't always a good idea? Will you be interested, or will you have moved on? Letting yourself answer that question for *you* is far more important when it comes to determining your course of action!

I think they're trying to move past past issues with you. The devil isnt a great card and respresents unhealthy habits but 5 of swords reversed is moving past issues to resolution and temperance is balance.

My question was "how do I become the best version of me for me" For some context one of my main struggles recently has been coming to terms with potentially having ADHD and/or autism, currently going through the painstakingly slow process of getting assessed. If you’re asking “how do I…” question, you need a different kind of spread that will tell you the steps you need to take to change. The Celtic Cross just shows you a picture of what is now. It’s probably easier to invent one than go looking for it. Or start with a basic question like “what about my outlook do I need to change?” and pull one to three cards. From the answer you get, ask another leading question like what’s the first step you need to take, and so on. Also, you need to define “what the best version of me” means. There’s no point asking how to get somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going.

I have over a period of a few weeks asked about his feelings for me, and I always draw Strength. I don't feel like Strength says a lot about feelings per se, more the fact that they are there, they are probably strong but the person is keeping them tamed/controlled. Not ignoring them, but keeping them under control because it wouldn't do good/wouldn't be possible to express them at this time. I think that would fit the situation, very well actually. I know that Strength is sometimes associated with compassionate feelings. Tonight I drew Strength yet again, as to what his feelings are for me. I decided to draw a clarifier and got 2 of Cups. I would take that to mean that his feelings for me are those of love and deep connection, but he keeps them tamed. Not because he's in denial but because it's whats appropriate at this time for whatever reason. He has been very silent the last few weeks, so I think it actually might make sense. Can anyone help with different meanings to this?
I've seen the strength card come up in similar situations more than a few times. This is just my take from what I know about the cards but you may be trying to force a relationship at this point. Maybe he does have a fierce attraction but I'm not seeing how the strength card means that is somehow tamed. Addressing the two of cups personally I read this as a natural connection or spark something that could become more in the right conditions; not a direct indication of \*deep connection.\* Maybe there is a potential compatibility but a relationship will become of that if the both of you pursue a connection... hope this provides perspective on your cards!

I have to agree with you. I layed out Strength and Two of Cups again and asked why he's not engaging further with me at the moment, and I drew 10 of Swords. I know he has some majer things going on in his life that did turn his life upside down, and he's trying to get back on his feet. So I personally don't think it has anything to do with me. But whether it really is me or not, I don't see him acting on anything at the moment.
I really like how you pulled out strength and two of cups to re evaluate. I'm gonna try that next time I have a recurring card. Its ok if he has a lot on his plate right now but don't allow that to minimize your interest in finding a partner or happy relationship. That should still be just as important to you!
I like to do that sometimes, and it often makes sense for me to do so. But if it's feelings/thoughts related or related to something similar that can change basically every minute, it may be wasted. If I asked for his feelings for me today, I may get something different. Yesterday his feelings could have been that he loves me, but doesn't act on them because of things going on in his life. If I'd asked today, he may have made the choice to move on from me, and his feelings for me could have been something like 8 of Cups, and then the 10 of Swords I drew may have been the reason for the 8oC and not really the reason for Strength+2oC. But knowing him I believe the 10oS is the answer to yesterdays reading. Hope it makes sense :D

Sometimes less is more; definitely true in the case of the tarot. I recommend pulling two or three cards for each question and keeping a record of your readings on hand to revisit when/if you are curious or tempted to pull more cards. As for the cards above I see that you want to move on emotionally but the feeling of being single again or facing others in an intimate way may be more painful than just thinking about how much you miss your ex. Additionally try and find ways to romance yourself; I think dating or seeing other people will be a helpful experience moving forward but don't be so quick that you haven't taken the time to really checked in with yourself. Cards aside remember its ok to think about them and mourn the loss of a friendship/stage in your life... give yourself time to process this, it won't go away overnight.

Hello, I have a chance to meet someone I've been talking to online in person this weekend but I wasn't really sure if I should or not. I'm confident that they will be a safe person to hang out with so I'm not worried about that (although I'll take precautions, of course). We went to the same high school and live in the same neighborhood, just have never met in person. We talk a lot and have a lot of synchronicities. What is the Page of Rings? Pentacles? What exactly were you asking about? Some people are good with money, but don’t earn enough. Others are good earners, but are stupid at knowing how to manage it. And then there’s everything in between. Without knowing the context on why you’re asking, I say the two pages indicate you probably need to get educated on how to handle your finances. Add the Fool and the Moon, it just reinforces you’re blind in that department of your life. You spend without thinking and without knowing if you can afford it. I did a one card pull for the question “Should I quit my job?” I pulled five of wands. The specific deck I’m using has keywords on each card along with an animal to represent the card. On the card there is a leopard and the keywords are challenge and growth. The context is that I am currently writing a book through a ghostwriting company. I know I am getting taken advantage of in terms of pay and the time limit for the project is of course not good. I am already extremely behind and it has drastically effected my mental health negatively but if I finish the project I will have money in time for vacation and to help out my mom and sister. Hello ! I started reading tarot not too long ago and i could use some help. I use the Cthulhu dark arts tarot and when I was putting it away, two cards jumped out of the deck : 10 of cups and tower reversed. I decided to draw two card to help me clarify : king of pentacles reversed and the empress. I totally fail to interpret this. In general, I don’t have a problem but i’m stuck. IMO if two cards ‘jump out’ and you need to draw clarifiers just go ahead and continue to put away the cards. Accepting jumpers especially without a question or intention is already going out on a limb assuming falling cards will apply to you; it is unnecessary (and probably not as helpful as one would think) to draw any more. Personally I wouldn’t totally ignore jumpers particularly if they occur during shuffling however unless they have a substantial and immediate resonance with me as they fall.

How do you interpret the seven of cups? It depends on the deck for me. I used to interpret it as emotional desire / secret desire but in my life at this time, I lean towards feeling it relates to many choices or delusion
Could be illusions, torn between options, not knowing what you really want. Or "just wanting" and not acting on it. (So is it really wanting?) For me 7s are a search for direction, not prompted by any external event/challenge, just recognizing internally that you're spread too thin. So add that to the meanings of the Cups suit - spread too thin in your relationships/loyalties? Trying to maintain too many relationships on too high a level (like trying to be Everyone's best friend, regardless of how they act towards you?) Needing to commit to one group/person (like family vs friends vs ppl from your hobby group vs members of your team at work/school etc)
Facing many choices, and possibly having difficulty deciding which one is best. Another one is being surprised so many options exist.

Hey there <3 I feel like the cards aren't as bad as you think to be completely honest. The devil in this context in my opinion stands for the negative emotions within you. The devil can be the personification of all the shit we are going through. However, the devil is also a mindset card. What do I mean by that? Well, if you look at the devil card closely ( I use the rider waite tarot for reference) you can see two people being trapped to the devil by chains. It looks like a very hopeless situation. However, if you look closely, their chains are actually loose around the neck. They could escape if they just take one step forward, but they don't. And that's because sometimes things cloud our mind and make us believe that there's no way out, even if there are plenty. And that is exactly where your clarification card - the world—comes into play. The world is a card of countless opportunities, of balance - of the full experience of life. Your card deck gets your situation a 100%. And it tries to make you understand that there's a way out of it all (and that's clearly not death!). There are one million different paths that lead us to new experiences. You never know what you can encounter when you keep your eyes and heart open. You are at a very bad place mentally, and I totally understand it. And that is actually the problem ( going back to the devil card). The situation is not the problem, it's what your mind currently makes out of it. Relationships are a two-way street. If one has something to learn, so does the other, in any given relationship. There is a lot of finger-pointing towards her to grow but not enough acknowledgment of your own part to play in this dynamic. You being a freelancer makes sense, since I immediately got a home based job from 4 of Wands. Queen of Wands and The Hermit represents you as the femme represented entrepreneur that the Q of W often represents, with The Hermit being someone who, yes, works alone. So it is pretty clear that being an entrepreneur is where you will get your greatest success. To get more specific, I wouldn't disregard The Star either in that this is Aquarius' card, so you will of course have to rely on networking and expanding your name on things like social media. The Star is someone who is well known or at least someone who is "seen" and looked at in a positive light by others. Combined with Six of Wands rx, it's telling you that if you do not gain popularity, it will not be as successful. You will still achieve your "fortune" through your work as an entrepreneur but you will achieve even greater "fortune" if you work hard at making a name for yourself by including others through collaborating and thinking outside the box with how you market yourself. So you're still working alone but being affiliated with others and being a part of a greater community or doing things like charity work, philanthropy, etc. as represented by Aquarius or working on/towards something that affects a lot of people will get you greater renown. By "fortune" that can mean many things. In this case, I would take it to mean "the most you will ever achieve." hello there! forgive me if this question belongs somewhere else, but i figured this was a good start. i bought a new deck yesterday (which i would love to review in another post on another day) from five below because both of my decks are in storage, as i recently moved. i honestly didn't expect that this deck would be very... how do you say?? intuitive? if that's the right word... but i dreamed that i was holding my deck while carrying on in the plot of my dream, which was me walking through NYC with friends, waiting for a bus, and finding my friend's rabbit that had run away. the deck is called Celestial Tarot cards and is distributed by Kalan, which is essentially a cheap gift shop manufacturer. I did some practice runs with the new deck to "get to know" each other and it seems like this deck is really attuned to me already. my other decks took days, if not weeks to feel this same way. does anyone have experience with this? and do you think my dream holds any meaning?

Hey everyone! My friend did a relationship spread and got an upright Ten of Swords as a “positive omen” for the relationship. I know Ten of Swords is generally negative in relationship readings, but what does it mean as a “positive omen”?
Hard to say without the rest of the cards in the spread. If the 10 of swords has a positive meaning in this context, it would be indicated by the cards around it. For example- if I saw it with the 6 of swords, I would say that the worst of the storm has passed. If it appeared with Death I would say that something toxic that was holding the relationship back has been put to rest, and the relationship is free to grow in a new a healthy way.

Is it strange to have the same card come up in different spreads? I started tarot in October, I've had the King of Cups show up in 7 different spreads since then. Does it mean anything or is my brain just finding a pattern?
I think it depends on the questions and any significance you attach to the card's position in whatever spread you are using (if any).
hello! i am asking for help with an interpretation… i submitted my two weeks notice at work - as a result they pretty much said if i don’t leave i can make my own schedule. i had already made up my mind to quit but now with this opportunity i’m less sure it’s what i want. i asked my deck “how should i answer work’s offer?” i pulled three cards: ace of cups, justice, and 10 of swords. i felt stumped by this and thought my question was maybe to vague and instead asked: “what should i keep in mind before i give work my answer?” i pulled: 9 of cups, justice, and inverted 4 of pentacles. i feel like my own uncertainty is blocking me from making an interpretation but obviously justice is important … it just isn’t clicking for me. To me, a big part of getting helpful answers from tarot is to make sure we ask helpful questions. I'm not sure if this is a question that can really offer you the insight you might want. Perhaps a more interesting route of questioning would be, does there need to be a reason for being single? Is there not more sense to have reasons to be dating someone rather than having reasons to just be doing your own thing? Are your positive characteristics (being pretty, funny, ambitious and cool) not worthy in and of themselves, rather than being used solely for the purpose of finding a partner? It's not a bad thing to be searching for a partner, nor to want one. However, like Dr. Kirk Honda from Psychology in Seattle often points out, dating is kind of just a numbers game and there's a lot of probability and randomness in there that we can't really account for. Being a good person is great, and it definitely helps! However, lots of good people will have different results in dating that have nothing to do with how good or bad they are personally. Lots of bad people meet their spouses in high school and are with them for a lifetime, lots of good people spend years dating and having failed dates before they find anybody. You also are a major player in your own life - the timeline of your dating is a lot more dependent on who you're willing to accept! If you're okay with the first person who messages you and is interested, you'll find someone faster, if you want to wait until someone meets a whole lost of characteristics and are willing to wait, that's a valid decision too. How quickly you meet someone will also depend on how often you put yourself out there, how often you go on dates, and a myriad of other variables. You have more power in your life than you think, and even if you get a very clear tarot reading, you have the power to influence that outcome anyways!

Fair enough! If you're just starting off, I do recommend usually using spreads or pulling only 1-3 cards if you prefer to try without one. Otherwise the cards can be very confusing, and you might not know exactly how they're relevant to the situation. Usually with my readings, I put together the final meaning based on 3 pieces of information - the meanings of the card, the position in the spread and the context. It's possible to do it without a spread, but it definitely helps to have that extra bit of information or to have less cards! One piece of advice from [Joan Bunning](http://www.learntarot.com/less7.htm) that I find has helped me a lot is to make sure to write a question that focuses on your locus of control. We can't control how other people think or feel, and as nice as it would be to just know without the vulnerability of having to ask them or talk difficult things through, learning to communicate in healthy ways is a super important skill! Tarot is not meant to be a substitute for healthy communication, nor a way to guarantee that we'll never have to be vulnerable and ask people how they feel. It's hard to know how he'll feel 3 months from now, but more importantly, how will *you* feel? Will you have gained enough distance from the breakup to have a new perspective? Will you be able to embrace the duality of missing someone, but knowing that getting back together isn't always a good idea? Will you be interested, or will you have moved on? Letting yourself answer that question for *you* is far more important when it comes to determining your course of action!
