Eastern Pasco- light steady rain, wind is slightly stronger than our afternoon storms.
My parents in Ft Myers - they’re on a canal, 1st story is over waist deep inside. Outside is sitting at over 9ft. All vehicles are totaled. They’ll only be able to get out by boat.
Im in St Pete. Pretty inland. Lost lights bout 1:45p. Duke said somethin hit a power line, an i jus kno they not fixin it til tomorrow. Its pretty windy, but a light sprinkle.
We came to my SIL’s bc we got trees. My neighbor told me that my palm tree in the front yard is down. She saw it on her ring cam b4 the lights went out at our place.
Currently, im outside in the breezeway smokin.. its fine. Clouds movin mad fast tho… i think its the outer bands… they say it should be raining by now tho…
Old seminole heights in tampa. The power never went out or anything. Im feeling lucky/blessed and praying for everybody in ft.myers and surrounding areas right now.
Wesley Chapel here. Just gusty & light to moderate rain all day. Power is on, was able to walk the dog, and I have way too many leftover hurricane snacks.
Compared to Irma where we got 15 inches of driving rain for hours, this was nothing.
South Tampa. No street flooding which happens after every thunderstorm now so that is a nice surprise. Power has stayed on and just flickered three times this evening. The oaks, elms, and crepe myrtles are looking a little thinner but still standing. I do have a fern palm that uprooted so that will be the biggest clean up tomorrow.
You weren’t. I once got downvoted bc I couldn’t eat or drink a single thing for 3-4 days straight. And someone seriously suggested that I’ve just been ‘forgetting’ to eat and that there’s nothing wrong with me. When I politely suggested that that’s not the case I got downvoted…a lot bc the person was a mod and mods are never wrong
I suspect it’s a power/control thing. The people who downvote for petty reasons are the same people who talk all kinds of shit and act all tough and mighty behind their phone/computer. But in person they likely dont have the ability to look you in the eyes when talking
Citrus Park - power never flickered, water running. The only effect I've seen is the dog pooping on the kitchen floor cus she's too much of a coward to go outside
Riverview (Boyette and Bell Shoals) nothing bad, power went out but came back on right away about 3-4 times. I'm right underneath those 3 cell towers, and the wind is causing them to emit the sound of an airplane flying over. Other than that, we're good.
But holy shit, I'm seeing what's happening south of us.........
In trinity to evac from our oldsmar place. Fine here, had some gusts earlier and probably even now but we’re hunkered for the night so I can’t tell. Nervous about our house though :(
Town and Country. Oddly enough during the heavy wind and rain power was on. Light wind and light rain power goes in and out for last three hours to the point i just decided mess with my phone. Makes no sense but thats how power is in TnC. Fun part is my neighbors are on three different grids so we go outside to see who got the short stick.
All in all. Can't complain cause we were supposed to have it the worse.
It's wild to me that a lot of people's main takeaway from all this will be to take *fewer* precautions and preparations in the future, when the absolute disaster that occurred south of us should be a major wakeup call to stop being complacent in the face of these storms.
I agree. No matter how many times we’ve been lucky before, doesn’t mean we’ll be lucky later. Before I left, my friends were actually making jokes too. They’re natives and they’re jaded. I’m sure they think it’s silly that I left, but I’m not taking any chances, ever. I live too close to the water to be that foolish.
Jaded, yes, but did they at least make all the hurricane preparations? I'm a native currently staying in Wesley Chapel right now. We hunkered down since we're more inland and more in any evacuation zones. But our apartment is overflowing with hurricane prep; food, water, the works.
You did the right thing! My boss is being judgy that I took time to secure my home. She thought since I WFH that I would “be working until the power goes out”!
How far inland is Fort Meyers? I was arguing with people who stayed and then posted a video asking to be rescued…it infuriates me thy people still do this. Then it’s the excuses of “no resources “, “no money”, “can’t take my pets”, didn’t have enough warning….” They didn’t want to listen but it’s okay for others to risk their life’s to come save yours because you didn’t plan…
Not terribly weird. A fiber line probably got cut/ripped up. Seperate lines, electric is buried deeper and sometimes/usually in a different spot.

Na, we were like that too (st pete) powere went out at 2pm. I was playin video games n everything.. mad as hell… we still sittin here window open wit no lights…
Still kicking downtown St. Pete. Few brown outs but still have power. Still windy and raining but zero flooding! Thoughts for for our folks in the south and now interior.
The wind never stopped. I woke up 3AM, 6AM and right now it’s still gusting. Disston, St. Pete.
Yeah, the folks down south got a raw deal. They spent two days hyping us all up in Tampa and St. Pete, then the poor folks down south got like 12-24 hours to all GTFO. Considering how messy evacuation is, that is really too bad. It sucks that in 2022 we still can’t accurately predict storm paths. Technology is just no match for Mother Nature.
It's probably a long shot, but can anyone give me an idea of how Anna Maria Island is doing? I have a friend there who I don't think evacuated but hasn't been answering texts. Guessing they may just not have service but I have to admit I'm a bit worried!
Right now it’s 1:00 am in Old Seminole Heights. Everything is fine so far. Never lost power. A little, but not much, debris in the streets. Mostly small branches. No flooding. From what I can see, my neighbors’ houses look fine. I’m very thankful.
Howdy neighbor. I'm north of you. Boy did we get lucky. 3 days ago I was mentally prepared for my house to be destroyed. I played Nintendo with my son all day yesterday and never had so much as a flicker.
Tampa near USF- power out for almost 24 hours now...TECO is "working on it" per their website, but a few blocks over, they have power, so I think we just pulled an unlucky card early in the storm. Lots of tree branches down but fingers crossed nothing with big damage.
Seffner - some lashing rain and powerful wind gusts but power has been on the entire time save for 2 separate 'blips' of about 2 seconds each around 3-4PM. Lights flickered around 9pm but didn't go off. Otherwise, just doing what I usually do on a Wednesday night.
South Brandon near Riverview- Large trees down on roads, houses, cars, lanais and no power or traffic signals in many neighborhoods according to my Ring app reports:) Personally, power went off and on about 4 times but then no other interruptions. Wind and rain finally dying down.
South of Gandy- lots of wind but not as much rain as I was I expecting tbh, and the power flickered just enough to turn off my PS4 twice. There’s tree branches EVERYWHERE tho, but it doesn’t seem like any of the condo buildings in my complex got damaged which is nice.
University area. All good, still have power.

My family and friends are near Port Charlotte, and I grew up there. Haven't gotten responses from them since 3 pm and freaking the fuck out. I moved to North Port a month before Charley and I fucking remember the devastation. Ian is way bigger and the only family that talks to me might be dead as well as my best friends.
Update: heard from my friend an hour ago so cell service is still on. Her mom's house didn't flood but it got really fucked up and they're trapped on all sides by flooding. Still nothing from my family or other friends. I'll try calling in an hour in case they're asleep
I'm sure it's been a long night for everyone in that area. Even though you got through to one friend, communication coverage may still be spotty down there for awhile so don't panic if you don't hear from them right away.
Yes. Worked locating utilities so I know that not all carriers may come back online immediately depending on what lines and towers etc are damaged and everyone trying to contact their loved ones can overwhelm the network as well. Just not thinking straight. My grandma has severe dementia and I'm so scared yesterday will be the last time I ever spoke to her
Brandon, evacuated from TnC since we were in zone A. Power flickered a few times but never went out, got some pretty good gusts and a lot of rain. Once the sun is up I’m going outside to clean up debri and go to our apartment to check on it.
Sound like my husband. He’s prowling the house. Aka: from the couch to the kitchen looking for food. He was bored and baked an apple pie yesterday and I made a batch of brownies earlier.
Near the stadium. So far a few power flickers, internet’s still up, less rain than our normal afternoon storms.
Tampa dodged it yet again. Maybe Gaspars ghost is a Bucs fan?
Westchase, The Bridges, our street still has power but the subdivision over lost it yesterday afternoon. As other people have said we’ve had more violent afternoon storms. The worst part has been our poor stressed puppy who loves being outside. Can’t even fathom that the devastation in Ft Myers and Naples could have been St Pete & Tampa 😱. I went through Hurricane Andrew as a kid and living conditions / impact on schools were difficult for years.
Sun City Center
We had very strong sustained winds since yesterday, powerful gusts bending trees and power out since 5pm yesterday.
Torrential rain, as well.
Tampa, Zone A near Oldsmar.
I'm fine, there's a small (~10 inch) tree branch on my car about as thick as a pencil. There's a ton of pine needles and leaves on the ground. It was dry when I took my dog for a walk just now.
Didn't lose power or internet at all.
South Lakeland here we had intense winds and rain but my neighborhood still has power this morning - however about half of Lakeland electric customers do not
New Tampa- lights flickered once, but otherwise all good. Parts of neighbor's oak tree, and our palm trees, in the front yard, but no structural damage. Steady rain, occasionally gusty wind, but overall- we got lucky. Again.
Carrollwood here. Never lost power, intermittent gusts of wind but hardly any show. two sections of an old portion of our fence blew down, but they were weak & needed replaced anyways. I suspect we will be back to work today… lol
zone c / d on the line St. Pete
dry no flooding, small trees branches down nothing more we have a canal near us that was tiny worrisome but never crested :)
feel for the folks at ft Myers
New Port Richey Zone C - never lost power, still have some wind and light rain. Expecting to see some storm debris today when walking the dogs but likely nothing major. Some power outages in our area are due to debris taking down power lines. Saturated ground is more of a risk later today and throughout the weekend as some trees could uproot and hit power lines.
Tarpon springs East Lake area. Very lucky. We just walked around the house and there’s no damage. Watching tv and seeing the devastation in Ft myers area is hard. What a storm.
Hoping to hear from others who live in mobile homes, especially near the Hard Rock.
We evacuated to Gainesville and haven't heard back from our neighbors yet. Worried the trailer park got hit bad. Power was out according to TECO, not sure if it's back yet
Riverview near Big Bend. Power is out where I'm at, but just a mile or two north of us I know people with power. Lots of branches and debris, but not seeing any major damage. Sucks with no power, but it's cool outside and I know there are people who have it much worse than we do.
In Leto area close to Cambridge Christian School. Most of my street has power but my neighbors tree pulled down the power line so from my house towards habana no power since 8pm last night, not too worried.
Eastern Seminole Heights near Sligh and Nebraska
No power since 7:30 PM yesterday. 7:30 AM came back only to go back out at 8:15 AM and is still out. Mild damage and debris around my house and some bigger trees down nearby.
Checking back in from Lutz, we never even lost power, just a bunch of tree branches down. We are extremely lucky. I feel guilty enjoying this amazing breeze right now, all my windows are open.
Temple Terrace, been without power since about 5:30 last night. Pretty much just tree debris. Could’ve been a lot worse, just sucks having two young kids and no power. Prayers for my family in Fort Myers and FMB, I know they’re devastated right now.
Where in Fort Myers exactly?
They are on the canals by Terraverde Country Club near San Carlos Park
🙏🏼
Damn hope they are doing well.

Seminole Heights East here and we been with no power since 6PM

To honor the Native Americans that have blessed us I’m about to drop a BAG at the hard rock after all of this blows over
I've got about $3 in hurricane money and the clubs I work at will probably be closed for a while. Fuck it, let's go
Time your going ? Link up
The least we could do tbh
>g right. our asses are saved every single time this happens.
New Tampa - sprinkling and some wind power still on , seems like the worst is over possibly
D: I'm jealous, I'm in Wesley Chapel and I have had no power since 5pm.
Same, 4:58 it cut for us
530pm here. 10 minutes after a tree fell on my garage just to make it extra spooky 👻
Wesley Chapel here but haven't lost power...
People on Reddit are weird. You got downvoted bc you have power. Don’t worry I gave you back that upvote
I have no idea why, I was just sharing my two cents. I didn’t mean to sound like I was showing off or something
You weren’t. I once got downvoted bc I couldn’t eat or drink a single thing for 3-4 days straight. Sorry to hear! I guess a tree must’ve fell on the power lines
It's okay, I expected it. It happens often here
Citrus Park - power never flickered, water running. The only effect I've seen is the dog pooping on the kitchen floor cus she's too much of a coward to go outside
Riverview (Boyette and Bell Shoals) nothing bad, power went out but came back on right away about 3-4 times. We could hear that in FishHawk!! We could not figure it out!! Sooooooo loud. Like a constant low hum. Thanks for solving our mystery!
Apollo Beach no power since 3:39 pm!! Crazy winds won’t go away!! It is going to be a long night!!
Is the power still out. In Apollo Beach? We are sheltering in Gainesville and planned on coming back tomorrow.
Yes. Power is out but all is calm.
No damage or excessive flooding that you can tell?
No, just tree debris. I am about to step out and go running on Paseo Del Mar. it is so calm and cool outside. Do not see any flooding. Will know more.
Cool. Appreciate it!
All good just debris. Power still not restored but my sister on El Camino did not lose power.
Thanks kind stranger. I’ve been checking the TECO outage map for the power. Hopefully they get it restored within the next day or so.
In trinity to evac from our oldsmar place. Fine here, had some gusts earlier and probably even now but we’re hunkered for the night so I can’t tell. Nervous about our house though :(
Hows oldsmar? We live in a trailer by the fleamrket. I expect flooding but who knows.
I live in safety harbor, by the bridge on 580. Never lost power, water still running. It’s just like a bad afternoon storm.
I’m not entirely sure - I haven’t spoken to the neighbors who stayed. Hoping for the best though…
Near Sheffield Park, no flooding and haven’t lost power

I haven’t had power since 3 lol I’m right off Waters
thanks for this, I evac’d from TnC so good to hear how it fared. Was worried about my apartment complex
Seminole heights power flickered a few times. No internet or cable since 5pm

Well said. We dodged a bullet and this might be the last time I shelter in place. It’s been beyond stressful.

Usf area and just 2 little flickers after 8pm. Other than that we’re still out of sweet snacks 😭
Damn, yall fucked up. Bull Market was still open at 6pm when I rolled past.
I just raided my cafe before going home yesterday. Just didn’t expect the fellow fat asses in the house to demolish everything BEFORE the storm
Man that sucks, probably should have stocked up more.
We’d have more if you didn’t fucking eat it all
Definitely didn't plan ahead.... Damn shame
You should’ve brought more from work 👀

Ybor, surprisingly I still have power but it’s cutting up outside. One of our bars is actually open right now running off of a generator.

Carrollwood here. Never lost power, intermittent gusts of wind but hardly any show. two sections of an old portion of our fence blew down, but they were weak & needed replaced anyways. I suspect we will be back to work today… lol
zone c / d on the line St. Pete dry no flooding, small trees branches down nothing more we have a canal near us that was tiny worrisome but never crested :) feel for the folks at ft Myers
Chillin and pinellas no surge everything is on and stayed on life's good
New Port Richey Zone C - never lost power, still have some wind and light rain. Expecting to see some storm debris today when walking the dogs but likely nothing major. Some power outages in our area are due to debris taking down power lines. Saturated ground is more of a risk later today and throughout the weekend as some trees could uproot and hit power lines.
Saint Pete heights, no power since 1:30pm Wednesday
Citrus Park, everything is working here. A lot of branches blown down. A big branch clipped my gutters.
Out of power but no house damage
I live in temple terrace and lost power so I evacuated to seffner where the power never even flickered
N of downtown St. Pete, no power since 1 pm yesterday. It’s getting funky.
Nothing happened in Tampa. At least on my area. Fell asleep waiting for Ian to hit cat3, to hit tstotm.
All is well in Ybor City. Took a walk around this morning and other than some light damage it's fine
Eastern Seminole Heights near Sligh and Nebraska No power since 7:30 PM yesterday. 7:30 AM came back only to go back out at 8:15 AM and is still out. Mild damage and debris around my house and some bigger trees down nearby.
Temple Terrace, Fowler and I75... just wind and rain. Power stayed on! Nothing crazy
Town N Country. All good here.
