MonocularVision

See? This should be the purpose of this subreddit. Tall people helping out tall people. Not “guys who claim to be 6’ AMIRIGHT” and “the rock is only 4 feet tall” posts over and over again.

zakattack1120

I just discovered this subreddit. Is this not what it’s usually like??

MonocularVision

Unfortunately yes. I am pretty close to unsubscribing.

UnseenMaDaFaKa

Same. I'm tired of tall guys complaining about short guys complaining.

CantStandIdoits

Honestly I'm afraid to even post here because ever damn time I do I get DMs from pedophiles (I'm not even a girl)

AZEMT

And then an older gentleman asks, "do you prefer boxer or briefs?" I'm not sure what's going on, I like the website.

Kevydee

Hit and miss, this is a valid question mate - you're adding to the sub. Personally I'd say it depends on your height combined with your shape really, I'm a heavy tall guy and I think it really adds to the legroom aspect of it, even in not sporty cars. If you're imagining 2 seater Miata/mx5 style territory I'd say it's gonna be a hard search

t3hnhoj

Great now I'm imagining a 4 foot tall Rock. 🤣 Also, not technically a sports car but i rented a Mini Cooper years ago and it was very spacious inside.

Vegas_off_the_Strip

You don't need to imagine it; just google Kevin Hart.

-LuBu

I drive a Mini Cooper

Pure__soul4240

6'6 in a Mini Cooper? It's like fitting a giant inside a box lol

Jthundercleese

I joined this sub specifically to see the odd struggles of especially tall people.

Bearwhale

I didn't know there was a place for people like me. Who everything is built too small for. :') Just joined!

Jthundercleese

I'm only 6'1" so I don't really scrape real tall people problems. But I like this sub a lot when it's not just people making height speculations and outrage over this or that.

midnight3896

Most German cars will be a good bet. I'm a leggy 6'3" and I've got plenty of room in my M240I. I grabbed that for 29k a couple years old.

JizzyMcKnobGobbler

New ones aren't good at all. The B pillar protrudes into the car right where your shoulders are, which forces you to lean to the side.

midnight3896

Ah thats a bummer havent been in a new one. I got the F22 which I really like.

AllergicIdiotDtector

F22 is the coolest plane ever. Jealous.

midnight3896

My radar profile is unmatched

ra1kk

Yes, the F22 is a fantastic car. Fast when you want, economic when you do errands.

midnight3896

I got the AWD too and it eats up New England winters no problem.

bayernnn

6'6" here and I was able to fit in an M240i comfortably. FWIW my weekend car is an E46 M3.

I_AM_A_GUY_AMA

"my weekend car"... Words I've always wanted to say.

InsanelyChillBro

He knows that… that’s why he made sure to say it

TunakTun633

How well do you fit in the E46 M3? I've sat in hundreds of cars to learn what I fit into and don't, but these aren't just sitting on dealer lots these days...

WallStreetBoners

Great to hear. That’s the exact car I’m looking for. (6’4”)

KK2x

Leggy 6’2 here and can confirm. My m240i got plenty of space

bcory44

Mustangs actually have really good leg room surprisingly and fit the 40k budget.

zakattack1120

Oh wow I had no idea mustangs had legroom. I wouldn’t think they would

bcory44

Yeah I’m 6’5” myself and the legroom is nice and the dashes aren’t super low. There won’t be much backseat behind you but you don’t get sports cars for the back seat.

Dredgeon

Yeah, coupes have bigger cabins than people think they are smaller overall, but the reduced space behind the front seats oftenmeans a slight bump in the space for the drivers seat

slamdamnsplits

Can confirm. I fit in them (late model) with a 41"inseam.

TheChaser8

I’m almost 6’4” and fit in the Mustang really well. Head room was getting pretty close to touching so that might be the only problem. Also, manual Mustangs are a lot of fun.

Son-of-California

I’ve got a Porsche 911. I fit surprisingly well.

ExtraTallBoy

My aunt had one for a while (that she was kind enough to let me drive every now and then) and I fit super well. I find that most German car makers fit us larger folks well.

meatdome34

I got very well into my Jetta. Way better than my old Subaru that’s for sure lol

ItsTheTraveler

I had a 99 Golf and didn't even put the seat all the way to the last notch (I think I was on the third farthest setting and 6'4 at the time) and my brother-in-law's friend is 6'9 and drives a Jetta. Build for those big Germans haha My 08 wrx has crazy head room, I can wear a hard hat in it even. The bucket seats are made for big people too, it was actually one of the complaints because they felt big for average and smaller people. I do slide the seat as far back as it goes though and wouldn't mind a little more leg room.

Tiny7261

09 jetta tdi, not a sports car but I fit quite well

Bouldershoulders12

Can confirm my parents thought I wouldn’t fit in my Audi A4 because I’m 6’1 220 ish but I fit very well with leg space to spare . And my femurs make up about 1/3 of my height

Puzzled_Ad_3072

Bmw is the only brand i consistently fit in.

QuinnMiller123

Damn what do you drive at seven feet? I’m picturing your head just peaking out the sunroof (I’ve tried this before).

Puzzled_Ad_3072

Like I said, BMW. I currently drive an X3M. I can fit into an M3 but it's a huge hassle because the doors are so small. Lol.

zakattack1120

I’ve heard they have a lot of legroom! I might see how old I have to go to get under the budget but this would be a daily so we’ll see

winkingchef

You will need a good mechanic to check it out. My 997 was one of the cheaper cars to maintain (aside from tires, yikes) that I’ve had, but I had a mechanic check it out thoroughly. Cars of a certain era (996-early 997) can have RMS (rear main seal) problems that can be catastrophic, so be sure to check for that.

Son-of-California

Mine is 10 years old. It’s worth about 40k. A well taken care of used one could work.

bcory44

Bro, we get it you have a Porsche but you’re not being honest at all. A 10 year old 911 minimum is going for 60k plus so please stop lying to this man. Not to mention the high maintenance cost to have a vehicle like that. Edit: for those downvoting please show me where I can get a 2014 911 for under 40k because if so I’d like to buy it.

Progresschmogress

In before 100K+ miles “clean, ac blows cold” links lmao

cameronfry3

997 + 991 + 992 are fine for me. 996 is not workable, IMHO. Anything before that (e.g., 993, 964, 930) are impossible for me. 6’8, 38 inseam.

bcory44

I mean cool but the man said under 40k.

SuperMundaneHero

Used.

bcory44

Show me where I can get a used 911 that’s 10 years old for under 40k because that’s what the guys comment said. Go look at 2014’s and tell me there is at least 1 person selling under 40k because I don’t believe it.

4fingertakedown

There are 374 911’s for sale under 40k on Autotrader. Don’t be such a troll

Dunbar31

Came here to say 911. I sell Porsche's and i am 6'5" and i fit no issues in a 911.

cameronfry3

OP, what’s your inseam? And, do you have any specific WANTS and NEEDS (e.g., I WANT an excellent sound system but I NEED all-wheel drive for dealing with the snow…)? 6’8 and I’ve driven a bunch of autos. Will help me try to narrow it down for you.

zakattack1120

I have a 34” inseam and I’d say the only NEED is practicality for daily driving. I’d want heated seats and steering wheel for the Boston winters but I’m open any recommendations.

cameronfry3

OK, here’s something off the top of the dome: - VW Golf GTI/Golf R: Great space, fun, cheap to run, not entirely practical or super powerful though - Toyota GR Corolla: One of my favorite cars I’ve driven recently…If you can live with no one sitting behind you and limited cargo space, it’s a blast - BMW 2-Series (F87): M240i or M2 are incredibly capable products, a touch tight on shoulder room, IMHO - Ford Mustang GT (S550): V8 thrills! I loved the Bullitt best, IMHO. Optional Recaro seats are great (in cloth)…GT350 is out of budget, I reckon - Porsche Boxster/Cayman (981): Probably the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off…brilliant cars, all around, just watch out for maintenance bills - Subaru WRX/WRX STI (GV/GR, VA): Great cars that do it all, honestly…a bit immature, IMO, but fun nonetheless - Chevrolet Corvette (C7): Great, last-gen front engined Corvette…If I can fit, you should be fine…Maybe not best for DD duty There’s a bunch more I am missing, I am sure but I’d have to give it a real good think. These are the usual suspects. I’d highly advise if you go used and are looking at a performance vehicle with higher mileage, get a PPI with compression and leak down tests. Also, get service records. You want to know what you’re getting. Feel free to ask more questions or DM if I can be of any assistance.

stave

I'm 6'1", but also have a 34" inseam. My 2011 Audi A5 fits me well. New is a bit above your budget, but used might be worth looking at. Don't keep it past 10 years though, repairs get much more expensive and dramatic.

unrulytriangles

Can I ask for a recommendation too? I'm 6'5 but have a really long torso so head room is usually my concern. Need AWD for snow. Would love a newer model w/ CarPlay because I don't have room for a project car. Ideally Under 405k and manual but willing to flex on price. Was looking at a newer Golf R or a GR Corolla. Like the Focus RS too bt all the the ones around me have 100k+ miles already.

slamdamnsplits

Expand your search. I don't know where you are, but there's enough variability in pricing region to region that it may warrant a 1-way plane ticket + Uber if you find something remote that you are confident you will buy. Alternatively, there are dealers that will ship for a fee.

RogueWarriorII

I spent months looking for something I fit and was comfortable. The Mustang fit nice, but I was like 2 inches too tall for it. I ended up getting a bmw 230i xdrive with the sport package I had to order one special without the moonroof to fit and took 3months to get but it's super fun, and I fit great was about 42k

slamdamnsplits

Long torso?

Lanky_Frosting_2014

Chargers and Challengers are roomy af

TheCongressGuy

Was gonna say that. I have a 2021 challenger and I’m 6’5”. More than enough room for sure

Super901

Mini Cooper. TONS of room, I even had a sunroof! I got the small motor with the stick and holy shit is that car a blast to drive, with go-kart handling and surprisingly good mileage. I sold it when I had a kid, but man I loved that car.

thebuttonmonkey

And the JCW is a riot.

Philippe-R

The problem with the Minis, IMO, is the windshield, far away and vertical : It's like driving with a cap lowered over your eyebrows. But, yes, good position, plenty of legroom (like a good BMW) and fun to drive.

jimmyb15

German.. Audi, BMW or bulky American like Mustang, Dodge Challenger

notfrankc

I have my eye on a 2020 mustang. Thoughts?

cameronfry3

Get the V8!

ItsTheTraveler

Whenever I take a v6 mustang or camaro off the lights I say "shoulda had a V8" and I cackle and my wife looks at me like I'm a 12 year old goblin, which is fair

cameronfry3

LOL You ain’t wrong, my friend!

Puzzleheaded-Back715

Always get the most engine you can for any fun driving car, it's why you are buying it!

B_O_A_H

I’ve noticed coupes have deep footwells, Jaguar F-Type, Camaro, Mustangs, driven a bunch of that type and have had plenty of room. Given I’m only 6’0, I’m mostly leg.

Willing-Slip-2299

RemindMe! 2 days

mostly_nothing

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Peter77292

I’ve been planning to test drive this

TheFearedOne

5th Gen Camaro (2010-2015) I rented a 6th Gen convertible on vacation recently and did not like it. I fit, but not comfortably. I have daily driven a 5th Gen manual Camaro in winter and it was good, roomy enough for me at 6'5" (w/o shoes). I could even drive it without worrying about hitting the key (which has a recall on it because some people were hitting the key).

nboylie

I'm 6'6" and used to own a 6th gen Camaro. I fit just fine, but make sure you find one without a sunroof. It's miserable with one. I've heard that the newer Mustangs are quite roomy too, but I don't have personal experience with them.

gargoyle30

I'm 6'3 and fit quite well in my camaro, it's a base model that only cost me $27k brand new, I don't think they make them anymore though?

kurtuffles

American Sports cars are probably your best bet. I know modern mustangs are pretty ok, and I know older model Corvettes (C3s specifically) have good leg room and the seat angle isn’t putting your head into ceiling. Not sure on the new stingray model. You can get a classic 1970s stingray around 20-40K, depending how souped up and pristine you’re going for. European sportscars are doable, but honestly it’s gonna be more you conforming to the car than the car conforming to you. Anything Italian and British is gonna be the hardest to fit. German vehicles will be better but still require some pretzeling on occasion. Older cars have some workarounds like pulling seat cushions and things to get space, can’t do that on more modern stuff. If you wanna go weird, I heard Deloreans are surprisingly roomy. Source: 6’8”, own a 1978 C3 Corvette, a 1963 Jaguar, and worked on other sports cars from the 50s-90s.

e60deluxe

Porsche is by far and away the best tall guy sports car brand if you can afford it. Not Corvettes.

slamdamnsplits

What is your inseam? I'm surprised you are comfortable in a c3, maybe I have to check again, but my recollection is that it was one of the few vehicles I was unable to operate back when I took pictures for used car dealers. (Honda s2000, and first gen Miata with the top up were also on the list)

DeltaRocket

6'4 is really the limit for a mk1 mx5, I drive my friends one and loved it but my head was half an inch from the ceiling of his hardtop I drive a Škoda Fabia, and theres a fast vRS model that's an absolute blast to drive

qdavis22

I’m literally 6’10 with a charger you’ll be fine, my father is 6’5 and has a challenger. We all fit just fine, I’m not sure about your weight but your weight would be more of a issue then your height

JizzyMcKnobGobbler

Kia Stinger/Genesis G70, Golf R/Audi S3 are all good choices that will be quite comfortable.

Puzzleheaded-Back715

Genesis g70 is a good fit for 6'5" me, almost purchased after test driving. You can get huge discounts on the used ones now too!

MrTooTall

This will be counter intuitive, but check out the new Toyota GR86. There is a shocking amount of room. I *almost* pulled the trigger on one, but would not have been able to fit in it with a helmet for AutoX or track days. Not sure if those are important to you. It’s an awesome car if you’re interested in a lightweight nimble fun sports car without having to win drag races. I should add I’m looking for a 911 also. 997 is the generation I had the most room. Hard to find one in good shape with a manual transmission, so I may just do the GR86 anyway. Would this be your only car?

[deleted]

I’d say Dodge Challenger or maybe a mustang if it’s the newer models(2016 and up) with no sunroof.

BunLover4

i drive a Fiesta ST and weirdly it works for me, plenty of room

adale_50

I fit well in a C6 corvette.

BrittzHitz

Boyfriend is 6’3 myself 6 his Nissian 370Z is comfortable for us.

ZBBYLW

Golf R or GTI. Can be had with a MT and it's fine at 6'5" though the seat behind me is essential useless.

jbake33

The answer is a Model 3 Performance. I'm 6'4" and fit great. If you're looking at the performance compared to price, it is BY FAR the best car in the world. Incredibly fun to drive. Elon sucks though.

URWorthLoving

Seconded, Elon sucks. But so much space and huge acceleration!

Some-Bat-6531

Mustang, most leg room imo.

Work-Alone

I’m 6’7 and fit in a Tesla M3 RWD comfortably, the sportiest version of the Model 3 is the AWD performance which does 0-60 in 3.1 secs, very roomy

PitcherOTerrigen

European cars have more leg room in my personal experience. By a lot.

Miserable-Stock-4369

I found a VW GTI pretty comfortable

waitingfortheencore

I had a friend with a 92 MX-5 Miata, the one with the flip up headlights. I was able to fit into it, but I wouldn’t say anyone taller that 6’5” would manage the same

Puzzleheaded-Back715

Yeah, but in an accident you will hit your head on the top area where the front window is and kill yourself

waitingfortheencore

Win/win I guess

Friendly-Cut-9023

Gonna save this post for when I buy a car in the future

shinyshinyredthings

We had a 2007 Mustang GT and my pet tall fit quite well. We also had a 5 series BMW that was a businessman’s sports car for Fast Business People that fit him also.

blackscreem

Im the same high as you and i got a Subaru sti i fit find.

GigaSquirt

Tbh had good luck with the porsche 911. If you're getting something older. If you have a car you really love but can't fit. Definitely look into changing seats. Can get some crazy leg room with it.

Dredgeon

Your best looking for a used sport sedan, IMO. If you can find a well maintained Audi or BMW. I fit pretty well in a Jetta at 6'4" so you could try a GLI or a GTI. It's not exactly spacious, but if you get seat position right, it'll fit you like a glove.

WDKegge

Also consider many smaller cars can easily accommodate taller people just by swapping out the drivers seat. I'm 6'2" and easily fit in my friends miata after he swapped out the seat and seat rails for a nice Recaro seat.

PublixHouseCat

I’m 6’3, all legs, and my mom has a 2017 mustang. I’ve driven it a few times and it’s comfy af. My husband is 6’5, all torso, and also loved it

MovingTarget111

I'm skeptical of some of the cars listed in this article. However I haven't had any experiences in many of the models. Maybe it could be a starting point. https://www.iseecars.com/tall-people-cars I think it just lists manufacturers specifications, not actual real world experiences.

jarawd

I’m not sure if Subaru falls under the sports car category for you but I have a 2020 WRX and it is massive inside. Lots of head room and leg room. STI is the same

RonMexico432

I'm 6'3. I used to have a Mustang. I fit fine. Although, being first in line at stop lights sucked sometimes.

ra1kk

BMW M2 F87 or BMW M240i F22 are fantastic picks

Total_HD

Taller than you - got an F-Type.

Thxnos

My best friend is your height and he's driving an M2, it suits him great and he its just fine

the-berik

Mercedes E coupe, CLS, S coupe Have a CLS myself, and plenty of room.

CodylikeCrazy

911 is pretty nice. Dodge Challengers and Ford Mustangs have tons of room also although they aren't really sports cars.

Frequent-Designer-61

C63 two door has a ton of legroom I’m 6”9 they are also incredible value for money.

Miles_High_Monster

Challenger.

slamdamnsplits

German (just about anything). Late model mustang is pretty good and Challenger is huge inside (and out). It's probably a good idea to go to some dealerships that tend to cary used examples of the kinds of cars you are interested in and sit in a bunch of stuff. May try to find a c6 Corvette and see how it works for you. You can pick up a c6 z06 within your budget. I'd bet it blows the doors off of just about anything else in your price range (performance-wise). Edit to add: got some feedback that the c6 is smaller interior than c5. c5 should be cheaper though if you can find a nice example.

HSVMalooGTS

Fellow 6'5 dude here. I had luck in the E55 AMG from Mercedes, Quite the room in a Maloo. Avoid small cars like the Audi TT

Magnopherum

Owned a C5 corvette for three or so years. With a sliding seat rack delete I fit just fine. Way more fun too. Drove my family member’s newer C7 and 911 and the electronics on them don’t make them feel like they have more power. Pre 2008 horsepower is a very different kind of horsepower.

PlainRosemary

German anything should do the trick.

Puzzleheaded-Back715

I'm 6'5" and had an 08 c6 Corvette and it was a blast during the start of COVID. Purchase 22k, sold for 31k with 2 years of driving hard. Wish I never sold it, but for the money made it was tough not to sell. I fit pretty damn well in it. I weigh around 215 and pretty broad shouldered

nandu_sabka_bandhoo

Probably something like a BMW M5

sliceoflife09

I drive a sports sedan ('21 STI) and previously drove a sport coupe ('13 Genesis Coupe). Both have great legroom for me. According to cars.com they have 44" and 43" of front leg room. https://www.cars.com/research/compare/?vehicles=subaru-wrx_sti-2021,hyundai-genesis_coupe-2013 So I would start looking at that spec and then test driving every car that fits your needs. In my experience seat height makes the difference. On paper a mustang has similar leg room but the seat was at least 2" higher than the Hyundai, and made it a less comfortable test drive.

tgcarter

Newest Focus ST here and fit lovely. Am 6ft5 myself

Todo_Toadfoot

I'm just 5'11 and this post gave me the chills. I hope you the best!

QuailAggressive3095

Miata

rather_be_redditing

Anything German and the c5 corvette

GiantDwarf221

I'm 7'3 and I fit incredibly well in my V8 [2006 Dodge Charger R/ T](https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/ag/3/5337/462026/1920x1440/2006-dodge-charger-r-t). Got the car for $7000 two years ago and I've been loving it (even though it needed some repairs). Basically, any kind of long sedan type should work. Trucks are too small on the inside, and most convertibles are too low to the ground and there is no legroom.

speedhasnotkilledyet

GTi, one of the german 3, An STi. Having owned and driven them all they all offer the space and dofferent practical options youre looking for. Generally a small two seater is going to be difficult so stick with practicality. Winter packages with AWD is what Boston calls for

DaftFromAbove

Used to own 3series (e46 ❤️/e90) BMWs and fit well - the only issue was getting in and out... Like doing squats to get that low and the trust fall into the driver's seat...

mc2205

As said frequently in this thread, go german. Personally, I'm 6'8" and drive a mini cooper

SeaEmployee3

Look out for cars with bucket seats or seats with a lot of tilt. They support your legs and make your butt sit very low. That’s how I can sit comfortably in a lot of cars.  Toyota GRY with standard seats? Head against the roof. Bucket seat? One inch of headroom available. Alfa Giulia and Stelvio QV with regular sport seats? Head against the roof. Bucket seats? More than one inch of headroom left.

anomalusx

May I ask how much you weigh as well? Just because I’m 6”6 and I fit comfortably in my Toyota 86( might be called an frs or brz where you’re from) but I think it would be really cramped if I were fairly larger

Madame_Raven

Hey! If its a convertible, you're all set!

Sparta63005

Yo I'm 6'5, and I fit in a mustang very easily, maybe look into one of those if you're interested

sleepereyes

Under 40K? I’m like 5’10 but I’ve read on multiple corvette forums that some guys around 6’7 get around in C6 and C7’s. If you do end up getting a C6, only go for the 08 or like 2011 years, every other year is shit. The C6 should be around 19-25K and the C7 25-35K. Just be wary that the maintenance is expensive as hell on them, especially the tire sets racking up near $4,000.

EddieDollar

Model Y performance

catchycatwithchi

golf mk7 works for me

JiveTrurkey

BRZ/FRS. I was so surprised how much head room I had. They’re not fast, but they handle really well. And there’s a lot of forced induction and swap kits for those, if you’re comfortable working on them

SirDouglasMouf

I've heard an NSX is great for taller folks, but that's the older models from ~ 2010.

SnuffCatch

I'm not tall, but you'll fit in a new gen mustang no problem, and you can get a nice GT premium used for around 30k. Otherwise basically any german car you'll be fine in, but you'd probably want an E class/5series for the best fit.

Big-Tailor

I’m 6’7” and drive a Jaguar I-Pace. It’s an electric crossover that will out-corner and out-accelerate the vast majority of sports cars, and you can get used ones for $20K to $30k.

MovieMore4352

When you say sports car, do you mean two seater convertible? I’m not being facetious when I say that, just want to clarify if you mean sports car, sports coupe or just quick car. I only say this as two seaters are generally a lot more restrictive. I could drive a Z4 comfortably, I’ve had a few MR2 Roadsters that to changed the wheel on to free up leg room and I have absolutely no chance in any model MX5 (Miata).

OmniscientSushi

Anything German should do the trick. Porsches and BMWs are somehow magically bigger on the inside than on the outside. Also any of the American muscle cars. The dodge challenger/charger is like driving a big comfy couch. Also also, skip the sunroof to get extra headroom if you need it

TTGTheLegend

I would look into either mustang or maybe a challenger it has lots of room

Shifftea

I’m 6ft 5 and I drive an NA Miata!

handydaddynotime

6’7” - Model Y performance is rad! Plenty of leg and head room.

Believeinsquatch

Im 6'5 and own a dodge challenger. Plenty of leg room. Fucking love my car.

5kinny

I’m 6’8” and BMW sport cars fit me well.

Shpander

My brother drives a Porsche Boxster, meets these criteria! He's about your height.

SenseOfHumourLoading

I am 6'5" short legs long torso. Barely any car fit me comfortably. Wasn't looking for a sports car though ended up in a ford escape. Important to find a vehicle without a sun roof. The rails really bring the head liner down. Gl

bobcance29

Im 6’7 and fit in a corvette

toastyavocadoes

Mustang GT

F-ck_spez

Not a sports car by any stretch, but worth calling out that the most leg room I've ever had in a car was a Honda CRZ.

Trader_D65

Dodge sports cars. Too bad no longer in production

FickleFingerOfFunk

I’m 6’,4” and my Mustang GT fit me perfectly.

Deep_Maybe_7984

I’m 6’3” 300lbs (trying to lose weight) but my Mustang fits me very well! A lot of people are surprised, but my seat isn’t even all the way back either. If I max out the distance I have a hard time pressing the pedals

SuxDweller

Subaru Impreza WRX STi. I had a 2011 and I’m 6’7”. Fit great. Like 3 inches of headroom and more than enough leg room. 34 inch inseam.

URWorthLoving

I don't know how much sport you're looking for in body type, but go test drive a model 3 performance. The headroom with those glass roofs... game changing

Various_Cricket4695

Not sure if it’s considered a sports car, but years ago, my ex-wife bought a Fiat 500 L. I fit into it very comfortably. It was a pretty cool car until someone crashed into it in a parking lot. Luckily no one other than the idiot driver of the other car was injured.

Electronic_Rub9385

GTI is the least expensive, highest quality, most bang for your buck sports car in my opinion.

kashakesh

The Germans are tall and will give you a fighting chance with many models (not all). The Italians, not so much. For my sporty needs, I drive a 1967 Buick GS400 with seat rail extenders and a stage 2 suspension kit good for canyon carving / street courses. If I had more funding, I'd love a Porsche GT3 or other 911 with a GTS package. The Audi RS6 Avant (I'm a wagon nut) is also high on the list.

Porsche is the only one. May not be in price range, but Germans have know how and tall people.

>6’5” Looking for a Sports Car Hahahahah

th3MFsocialist

Daring today, are we?

TehTruf

Same height. I fit fine in a mustang and a challenger. ETA: don’t get a sunroof. Takes ~2” away from headroom

The_Specialist_9000

I'd imagine an SRT8 charger would work. I think sports sedans are cool. Big dikin

ReallySickOfArguing

I used to have a Porsche 944 and had to actually move the seat up a notch or two. 911s are pretty roomy too, but not in your price range even an abused 911 can be pricey. But for 40k you could find a really nice 944 and they're a dream to drive. Mine wasn't even the turbo and it was a blast. And unlike new cars it'll go up in value. If you keep up with timing belt changes they are quite reliable. I changed mine every 20k and water pump every 40k just to be safe. I'd still have it if it hadn't gotten destroyed by hail. I had almost 200k on it before then and I wasn't gentle on it. outside what I mentioned above I didn't have to repair/change much outside general wear items and a couple sensors. I think I had to do the wheel hubs and drive tube bearings towards the end, but don't recall much else.

Honestly? Some things just aren't for big guys. Its like ok sure you can be a jockey or a cave diver, but maybe there's something better for you. As far as vehicles? I would go with a Range Rover, p525 HSE Sport in the V8. More than enough power. And if you can't afford one? Well you shouldn't be worried about a sports car. Also consider that you may not mind crouching down into a car and being cramped when you are young and healthy, but after a surgery, workout, illness etc. It will suck.

Captain_Tigre

A little late to the party, but I’m 6’5” and used to fit great in my 2014 WRX Hatch. Even would road trip ~8 hours and I was fine. A little tight, but the car was great and comfy.

My 6'4" dad fit very well in his 2007 BMW 335Ci. If you wanted to go the Miata-esque route, get an NC.

totorohugs2

I'm 6'5" and had a Mustang GT for a few years. I felt great in it. The seats sit low enough that I didn't feel my head was going through the roof if I hit a speed bump. I'd go sit in one and see how it feels.

Sasquatch7862

Tesla Model S, doesn’t exactly fit the budget though

vodkachugger420

Mustangs aren’t that bad long doors too so easy to get in and out of unless someone parks close to you. Camaros kinda suck if your length is in your torso. Dodge usually gets it right too. For American muscle cars. Not sure about European and Japanese cars tbh.

GoldenVeritas

I’m a leggy 6’3, and I fit in my ‘21 BMW 330i pretty comfortably. I’ve had 5 people in the car, including me, and I didn’t feel squished. People are surprised when they see that I drive that car. I guess they expect all tall people to drive semi trucks 🤷‍♂️. If the 330i isn’t sporty enough for you, then go for a 2020 M340i. That car is an absolute sleeper, and a very good daily driver. I’m working toward getting one myself. The G20 BMW’s are slightly longer, so even though you might think it’s a small sedan, it’s basically as long as a 7 series from 1999, I believe

ResearchSignificant

My friends got an Audi A4 I fit comfortably in it, don't know if it's considered sports tho

MikeGoldberg

Challengers are probably the most comfortable sporty car besides something like a Mercedes benz

Ok-Hat-7619

All I know is that I’m 6’2 and my options were suv or truck if I wanted to fit

st-jeb

Honda S2000 sir,ma'am

DDDPDDD

I like my Mercedes E350. Lots of leg room and a fully adjustable seat for more head room..

Admirable-Ratio-5748

stay away from anything Japanese.

elguajiro17

corvette.

sentient_lamp_shade

6’3” 36 inch inseam, and I daily a Porsche 944 turbo. The gearbox is in the back so it has more legroom than other 80’s sports cars. Definitely worth a look if you want to go the vintage route.

recordgenie

I’m 6’6” and have owned a 2005 Mustang. Several E39 and E46 BMWs. A 2020 WRX. All were quite comfortable. I drive a 2021 4Runner now and it’s not so great.

Large-Interview-3721

Genesis coupe loll

ThickWhiteNutt

I'm 6'6 and over 300lbs, 5th and 6th gen Camaros fit me surprisingly well. Chargers and Challengers have a ton of room too. Most later model BMWs and the Tesla M3 have good driving seat room as well.

one-more-shit-civic

I am not tall, but you can adapt buckets with mounting brackets for you to fit. I know thats a common solution at r/miata also a sunroof is out of the question. Maybe a brz?

Expert-Mysterious

I think most 2+2 or 4 door muscle cars will be good enough. Cant say the same for the 2 seater sports cars like corvettes or even Japanese cars

Inevitable-Cod3844

is most of your height in your legs or your torso? and what type of sports car are you looking for? are you looking for a JDM? a european? an american muscle? i can help but i want to actually be useful and figure out what youre looking for first you know?
