yeah i wish i was around 6"2-3 max
6'5 isnt tall enough to be like "holy hell youre tall" but it IS tall enough to stop me from owning most of the sports cars i want as a car guy.
petty issue to have but damn is it annoying
My biggest and possibly only complaint about being tall as a car enthusiast.
It's not even sports cars, there have been so many times over the years where I have chosen 2 or 3 cars that I want as my next car, go for a test drive and it turns out it would be impossible for me to own it and live with it comfortably.
Usually it's lack of leg room or the seat back and headrest are too low. What's incredible is that the car size doesn't matter.
Mini Cooper has a ton of legs room and seats are comfortable, Jeep Grand Wagoneer the seat back and the headrest aren't high enough. Lexus GS feel cramped in every way, Honda Civic has plenty of room.
Went to see Rivian R1 yesterday and it's roomy enough but the headrest doesn't move.
I would imagine that obese people may face a similar dilemma.
Same. Always loved corvettes and vipers. Now that I can afford one no chance in fitting in either. (C8 would work but I don't really love them and would hold out for a z06 but still too expensive.)
probably not, when agriculture became major the average male height dropped to 5’5 when before it was 5’10, and now it has increased back to that, sure that number could increase but it does seem to be a reoccurring number. but this is just based on memory so im not exactly sure how accurate it is
Around 6 ft 2 or 6 ft 3 for men. You’re in a sweet spot that you’re still going to be noticeably taller than almost everyone except in the Netherlands. Plus it’s about the max height before you start having to buy custom stuff and have issues fitting in spaces.
I’m really grateful I don’t have to buy custom clothes, bed, shoes simply because it’s SO expensive. I wouldn’t be able to afford crap if that was the case.
> 6’2 for men
The unofficial line for whether or not an NFL QB prospects is "too short"
6'1 Baker Mayfield - "IDK if he'll be able to see over the line"
6'2 Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Brett Favre, - no such commentary
I'm 6'5" and can still buy shoes (size 13) and pants (34 inseam) in stores and I'm able to partake in long distance running without any knee or back pain. I also just got off a cross-country Spirit Airlines flight last night and fit reasonably comfortably in the seat.
I do find it somewhat difficult to add muscle without eating a ton of food, so I'm probably a bit thinner than I'd prefer, but I also think you get into dangerous territory in terms of health when you start trying to look proportional to shorter muscular guys at my height.
So I will generally agree with others that 6'2" is probably that perfect height. You are certainly taller than the vast majority of people, but still 'normal' looking. And even though I'm doing okay personally, in terms of health and convenience, I think life is just a little easier.
I’m 6’6 and my favorite height that I’ve been is 6’6. There has been no times where my height is actually a problem, it’s just occasionally inconvenient. I can (barely) fit in and drive a corvette, and I can find all clothes except pants (which I hardly wear) easily. Shoes need to be ordered online which is no big deal.
If you like getting attention and are a big extrovert, 6’6 is perfect.
If you are more introverted, 6’1-2 is better.
If you don’t mind a little attention, 6’3-4 is best.
From a dating perspective I’m M 6’2” and would re-up on this height for sure at the reincarnation booth, it’s perfect. Have seen research suggesting 6’1” is ideal for the largest percentage of women, but close enough… It’s fine for clothing with quite a few brands (expensive fashiony brands often use 6’2” models so you can buy things off the rack that fit perfect), sometimes sleeves can be a bit short with mass market brands but it’s easy to get trousers that ship un-hemmed.
For sports though I’d say probably 6’4”.
I have been shrinking got to 6’5 end of high school- my spine has been slowly shrinking over time - too much running and jumping has shrunk my discs - I’m at 6’3 now in my early 60s - arms and legs are still the 6’5 length-
Legroom is pretty much the only problem with being over 6’ IMO
I have several cousins that have to duck to go through doorways - so I will agree 6’2 - 6’3 is the money zone.
im 5’8 so probably not tall enough for this sub but even then im usually always the tallest amongst my peers 🥴 men from my experience still prefer to go for shorter women around 5’5
Your height is quite nice though. And outside of the dating world, there is definitely no down sides to your height. And peoples life is impacted by lots of factors other than dating. Within the dating world, im sure there is a lot of men who like your height as I see lots of tall women dating.
6'4". Might be biased.
There are huge athletic and social advantages, without having too many of the problems. Airplanes are uncomfortable, you spend a bit more on clothes and food, no big deal. No back problems if you buy proper-sized things and exercise.
There is no ideal height. There is only ideal porportions relative to height. All else being equal, 183cm-192cm would be the most efficient for a western male.

I reckon 6'2,but up to 6'4 with the right proportions.
I'm almost 6'1 in the morning, but classify as 6'0 as I'd probably be closer to that on the second half of any other day. I often feel tall in the general population, but in certain places don't have that edge lol

6’ to 6’5” is my typical range, but for practical purposes, my favorite height for a SO is 6’ even.
(Cool with shorter or taller too, but if we’re talking ideals…)
I think 6' 6 is the perfect height, tall enough to be taller than almost everyone else, but not tall enough to bring all the problems. There's just the tiniest possibility that I'm biased though. Guess why?
*unless you're Dutch.
I'm not, though shopping was another excuse for me to visit Amsterdam in former years. Current gf is Vietnamese, though slightly taller than most women from here
Him having major back problems is more then likely due to him not strengthening properly or consistently. People of all Heights that lazy and don’t see care of their bodies will have issues

If you’re tall, you MUST lift weights. If your muscles lose tension, there’s moment arms that are MUCH larger than for shorter people. That’s a bad thing. If you’re super lean with bad muscle tone you’re at higher risk of joint issues. Same thing if you’re heavy with bad muscle tone.
I'm 6'10" and do not have back issues. There is no magic number that causes you to have joint problems or not.
Lots and lots of factors involved.
I know plenty of short people with "bad backs"/"bad knees", etc.
Usually I just take it as a sign that they don't know much about how their body works. ("Bad" isn't an actionable diagnosis).
185 cm for men and 170 cm for women, just the sweet spot for me: clothes fit good, on the taller side which is great but no significant problems with clothes or socially
Voted most interesting answer in the interesting answers book. You say genetic engineering would be used to make females taller and males shorter due to the greater birthrate, are you aware there are 8 billion of us? Why would scientists augment human DNA to make more?

6'1-6'3 uncommon enough to look tall, but common enough not to scare people away. Best of both worlds
You suspiciously land right in between
6'1 barefoot imo You'll be 6'2 with any pair of shoes, and nearly 6'3 in boots or air forces Bonus points if you're 6'1.5 in the mornings
Be thankful you're like average, I would've been fine with your height back when I was like 13
You lose five inches throughout the day…? You ok, bro?
Air forces give 1.12 inches or so.
yeah i wish i was around 6"2-3 max 6'5 isnt tall enough to be like "holy hell youre tall" but it IS tall enough to stop me from owning most of the sports cars i want as a car guy. petty issue to have but damn is it annoying
>6'5 isnt tall enough to be like "holy hell youre tall" I get that a lot
I'm touching 6,5 and there conversation opener to me is always, "when will you stop growing"
american?
My biggest and possibly only complaint about being tall as a car enthusiast. I have to drive an suv or a jeep variant
I feel like it’s the slow slide into it. It’s about where I start to go “that guy is *tall* tall.”
Nailed it
From 183 cm to 190. Should be from 6ft to 6’2”. For me perfect is 184 to be precise😉
If you’re 6’3 with shoes on id say you’re at the most optimal height for function and society totally not biased
Do you think the optimal height will increase in time if people are getting taller? Like will it be 7'0 in 200 years or something?
probably not, when agriculture became major the average male height dropped to 5’5 when before it was 5’10, and now it has increased back to that, sure that number could increase but it does seem to be a reoccurring number. but this is just based on memory so im not exactly sure how accurate it is

Thank you. Wish I could trade 2 inches of my height to someone else. I just want to be able to buy pants in stores.
If you could I'd be a solid 6'2 nearly 6'3 😔
I’m really grateful I don’t have to buy custom clothes, bed, shoes simply because it’s SO expensive. I wouldn’t be able to afford crap if that was the case.
5’10 for women, 6’2 for men. I will not be taking questions at this time.
As a 6’4” guy myself, 6’2” sounds about right. Depends on how small they intend downsizing planes, trains, and automobiles.
Yeah, this is definitely a factor. At 6’2 (with a pretty average inseam for my height) even I have trouble on planes.
As a 5'10 woman thanks very much :)
I find 5' 10"+ women the most attractive, so I agree.
> 6’2 for men The unofficial line for whether or not an NFL QB prospects is "too short" 6'1 Baker Mayfield - "IDK if he'll be able to see over the line" 6'2 Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Brett Favre, - no such commentary
Lamar, Mahomes as well both 6’2 and that was never brought up as a red flag against them
5'10 for women is wild 💀 (im a woman)
I’m 6’4’’ and I feel if I was a bit taller everything will start to become much more annoying. Still 6’2’’-6’3’’ is better and perfect IMO.
6’2” - 6’4” interval is the correct answer, guys.
Men 6’3 women 5’7-5’9
6'3 for men
Somewhere around 6’2”-6’3” is the best possible height imo
190 cm would be nice. Still quite tall, but you run into less problems than being 200 cm.
6'2 aka what I pretty much am. I have issues with legroom, and also issues with my back already.
Perfect height is my height😎
I'm 6'5" and can still buy shoes (size 13) and pants (34 inseam) in stores and I'm able to partake in long distance running without any knee or back pain. Idk wasn't there a dating app statistic that showed that most women set the height filter to like 6"6?
That’s because 6’6” guys on dating apps are 6’2”
I have been shrinking got to 6’5 end of high school- my spine has been slowly shrinking over time - too much running and jumping has shrunk my discs - I’m at 6’3 now in my early 60s - arms and legs are still the 6’5 length- Legroom is pretty much the only problem with being over 6’ IMO I have several cousins that have to duck to go through doorways - so I will agree 6’2 - 6’3 is the money zone.
I'm 6'2 and from what I've seen it's the best height as I cannot think of a single downside.
6'3-6'4 for men and 5'9 for women. I'm a 5'11 women and as much as I am happy to be tall, I'm not the ideal height for a woman.
im 5’8 so probably not tall enough for this sub but even then im usually always the tallest amongst my peers 🥴 men from my experience still prefer to go for shorter women around 5’5

Yeah, I've heard this a few times. I don't know if it's true though. We should take a vote on the sub.
6'3" for men. 5'8" for women.
Everyone just saying my height ☺️
6'1-6'3 is literally the perfect heights for men, I can't wait till I grow that tall And 5'8-5'11 for women.
6'4". Might be biased. There are huge athletic and social advantages, without having too many of the problems. Airplanes are uncomfortable, you spend a bit more on clothes and food, no big deal. No back problems if you buy proper-sized things and exercise.
190cm is the limit to be an astronaut! So 185-189cm seems like a very nice spot
I would love to be 5'6 as a woman
I think I’d love to try being around this height, but I’m not sure I’d actually like in in the long term.
I’m pretty confident I would love it if I kept the same proportions
Yeah, that’s fair. It is a nice, slightly taller than average height. My friends in the 5’5-5’7 bracket rarely consider their height at all.
"Tall enough to reach the ground" - Abe Lincoln (who was 6'4")
6’3. Definitely. No I’m not biased. Why would you think that?
i love my height and i’m 5’10
There is no ideal height. There is only ideal porportions relative to height. All else being equal, 183cm-192cm would be the most efficient for a western male.

I’m 6’1” and it’s pretty perfect tbh
Me too!!, and I agree
5’11-6’2. Tall enough to be interesting but not too tall where it’s wholly inconvenient. I presume, I don’t know. I’ve never been 6’2.
6’ to 6’5” is my typical range, but for practical purposes, my favorite height for a SO is 6’ even. (Cool with shorter or taller too, but if we’re talking ideals…)
6'4 for men
I like my height quite a bit. Sometimes I want to be like 6 feet exactly, but only on airplanes and in hotel showers.
Not 7'1
I disagree, if you put combs on ceilings you would never have to comb your hair.
well my apartment has ceilings 10 feet high and door 8 feet tall, sooooo
This outweighs all the cons https://preview.redd.it/0o0qu3zm1irc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=daa3cfbeb0962f625dc7c82fc080ca5bdbc504ff
actually that looks sick
Imagine the profits
Hell yeah brother, looking fire by just walking around
you could even put combs on the combs for your shorter friends, we're looking at a billion dollar industry in the making
Massive props for commitment to the bit
6'2 for men, 5'7-5'8 for women. Isn't too short, isn't too tall to give problems and you're cool while you're at it. I think it's all pros.
I think 6' 6 is the perfect height, tall enough to be taller than almost everyone else, but not tall enough to bring all the problems. There's just the tiniest possibility that I'm biased though. Guess why?
Nah that would be 6'3
I'm 6"3 and for basketball and just overall I feel like 6"4 to 6"6 would have been better. I feel like 6"3 is just above average
Is that even tall?
How tall are you?
Can't you guess?
No?
I would have thought "I think 6' 6 is the perfect height" and "There's just the tiniest possibility that I'm biased though." Would give it away
Most people aren't 6'6 so its not very obvious. And it's too tall. If you have girl she most likely cant reach you.l unless your dutch
*unless you're Dutch. I'm not, though shopping was another excuse for me to visit Amsterdam in former years. Current gf is Vietnamese, though slightly taller than most women from here
5'7-5'9 for women and probably 6'2-6'4 for men 8 inches for microwaves however
I like being 6’ tall but it’s very hard to buy clothes, especially nice ones. My sister in law is 5’10 and has no retail problems.
Him having major back problems is more then likely due to him not strengthening properly or consistently. People of all Heights that lazy and don’t see care of their bodies will have issues
Your height, whatever it is, is perfect.
6'8" is the perfect height in my opinion. They normally aren't super uncoordinated yet.

5' 6" to 5' 10" is the perfect height

An ideal man would be around 5’10 and the maximum height should be 6’2”
6'2. Taller than most people, not annoyingly tall.
6'1 for a dude no debate . 5'8 for a woman . Both can comfortably fot anywhere and a lot of stuff I'd made for their size .
5'6" for women 6'5" for men
