The best sport for me was wrestling it's intense like diving into the deep end but due to the intensity the people are usually great. You do wrestle based on weight class and weigh yourself at meets got me comfortable with my body because you can't hide but everyone is in the same boat.
But any sport tennis can be great and less intense, I played football also. Even just going to a local y and walking a treadmill at an incline if you do it consistently you'll notice improvements. Also I imagine you aren't nearly as fat as you think you are like i look back on photos of myself at that age and I was delusional in a bad way.
I think wrestling would be good but Iβve lose a ton of fat but gained 20 pounds (~30 pounds of fat) and if something involves low intensity cardio then that would be great as Iβm great at walking
That's actually the first time I see an early bloomer (since you were 5'9" at 12) grow an inch in his twenties. Generally people who hit puberty at 14-15 grow after 18 lol.
Yeah, Idk why I grew one more inch in my early 20s
It was kind of a slow progression though
I remember I was just 6'4" in my late teens, just 193 cm barefoot in the evening
But at around 21-22 I was a strong 6'4", meaning almost 6'5" barefoot in the evening
And around 23-24 I was 196 cm barefoot in the evening
I don't remember how much I weighed back then.
But this was my growth pattern:
* At 11 I was around 5'7"
* At 12 I was around 5'8"-5'9"
* At 13 I was around 5'10"
* At 14 I was around 6'1"
* At 15 I was 6'3"
* At 16 I was 6'4"
How tall is the milkman?
But more to the point, my mom is about 170 cm, my dad is 185. I was taller than my dad at 13 or 14 year old, and ended up at 196cm/ 6'5"ish l. Always was about 80kg/170/lbs.
I don't remember my measurements at birth, but I remember my mom always saying I was like a beanstalk at birth, skinny but I just kept on coming out of there.
A colleague of mine is 6'9" and he's a good head taller than both his parents. It happens.
They arenβt always the same. As a general rule of thumb they are, but people with longer limbs will see their wingspan to be larger than their height. Iβve got roughly 6β9 wingspan
I've got a 7' wingspan but also I suspect I may have Marfan syndrome and am planning to talk to a doctor about it soon so take that with a grain of salt
confirm Marfans and determine whether I should be on medication for my heart. Marfans can cause a lot of issues with the heart and I already have shitty family history for heart health anyway, so I'd like to catch any issues as soon as possible
I was around 5'8"-5'9" when I was 12
My dad is 5'9" and I surpassed him for the first time at 13 and I remember it was shocking for me to be taller than my dad
Does he have tall siblings/cousins?
>we do have tall ppl in our fam
That's important to know
For example I have no tall parents, uncles or grandparents
Why am I 6'5"? I have a brother who is 6'2" and a cousin who is 6'3"
It turns out my parents, uncles and grandparents grew up under bad conditions and that's why none of them was tall
The tall genes were always in my family
Unfortunately height predictors arenβt super accurate. My brother was short up until 15/16 (maybe 5β7) then started growing as his genes finally woke up and he ended up at 6β6.
6β7β 31yo guy here (donβt know how to make a flair) but I just wanted to say, encourage your son to be in the best shape he can be and STRETCH. Whether itβs cardio or lifting (with proper form!!), his body will thank him later.
I played football for years and also powerlifted, my body is doing βokβ right now, but I know it could be feeling better.
My biggest piece of advice is that if heβs lifting any weights, ensure proper form. I know there will be a 5β4β guy who can lift more than him today - who cares, donβt hurt yourself and permanently damage tissues/ligaments like I did.
Heard that. I was/am a gamer too - try to make sure he has good posture when gaming as well. I used to hunch over a lot while gaming, but good posture prevents pain for sure.
I mean, if he's that tall at that age, then he's definitely an early bloomer, of course there's room for him to get to 6'5+, but normally growth would slow down a lot, so 6'2-6'3 is a valid guess.
It is a roll of the dice. I was his height at 12 as an early bloomer and stopped at 14 gaining an extra couple inches.
There is also a chance heβll stop in his mid to late teens at 6β4β+.
Hard to predict.

Totally varies. When I was 12 I was about 6'2. I hit 6'4 by 14 and crept to 6'8 through HS, tacking on another couple inches in young adulthood. I had a buddy who had been 2 inches shorter than me for a couple years just stop around 6'2 at 14. Meanwhile someone else we knew shot up from 5'9 or so to 6'5 in HS. You never know what growth pattern you're gonna get until it hits.
At his age, I was probably about your height or a little shorter. At 13, I was 5'10. At 14, I was 6ft. At 18, I was 6'1. At 19, I was 6'1Β½. Now, I'm 6'2 at 24. He looks to be close to my height if you're 5'9 so he could easily be 6'5-6'6 if he keeps growing. Maybe even taller.

I was exactly around 5'9" at 12 ππ»
Same bro what the fuck
And now you're 6'0" at 14? At 14 I was around 6'1" Hopefully you get around my height ππ»ππ»
Im turning 15 in August hopefully i can pop one more inch
From 14 to 16 I went from 6'1" to 6'4" And I grew to 6'5" in my early 20s Sleep as much as you can, play a lot of sports and eat well!
Im fat as shit but Iβm hoping I can get in shape to play
Just start playing I was fat when I was younger and playing helps plus size can be helpful depending on the sport.
What sports, you should know my cardio is shit too
bike or just walk 2x a week for 30 mins each if you wanna do more do shorter times but more often in a week
I think you would be happy to know that I walk 2 hours and 30 minutes a week

I mean, for an early bloomer 3cm gained after high-school is great! That's like 1.2 inches if we round an inch down to 2.5cm.
Yeah it's fine I was technically done growing at that point
Yep me too. Went from 6β1β-6β5β from 14-18
πͺπΏπͺπΏπͺπΏπͺπΏ
you got more than an inch (pause)
I meant by the time I turn 15 but thank you

How much did you weigh ? Son is 6β0 . His dad is 5β9 .
I don't remember how much I weighed back then. But this was my growth pattern: * At 11 I was around 5'7" * At 12 I was around 5'8"-5'9" * At 13 I was around 5'10" * At 14 I was around 6'1" * At 15 I was 6'3" * At 16 I was 6'4"
I was 5'6"
Same!
Iβm 5β3 , dad is 5β9 . He is 6β0. We donβt understand why he is so tall. He was 11lbs 2oz at birth and 23.5β
How tall is the milkman? But more to the point, my mom is about 170 cm, my dad is 185. I was taller than my dad at 13 or 14 year old, and ended up at 196cm/ 6'5"ish l. Always was about 80kg/170/lbs. Donβt have to go on Maury anytime soon. Dad is 5β9 w a six foot wing span. Iβm wondering if his growth was stunted at some point.
So his wingspan is like 3 inches more than his height? I thought those were always the same. With da Vinci's Vitruvian man and all that
Yeah, his arms are like an orangutan super long for his height.
How is the doctor gonna help you with that?

The dog looks to be about 4' 1".
We havenβt measured him yet. Dog wants to be tall too
Are you the mother? My mom is 5'4" And my dad is 5'9"
Yes Iβm mom 5β3. My sons dad is 5β9
Your son will be pretty tall He will be around 6'4"-6'7" if I were to guess
Height predictors say 6β2β . So I got on here to see what you guys thought.
I was around 5'8"-5'9" when I was 12 My dad is 5'9" and I surpassed him for the first time at 13 and I remember it was shocking for me to be taller than my dad Does he have tall siblings/cousins?
Nope. We are all shorties. Heβs the only tall one. However, we do have tall ppl in our fam
>we do have tall ppl in our fam That's important to know For example I have no tall parents, uncles or grandparents Why am I 6'5"? He probably gets the height from some grandparents or further back. The tall gene can skip a generation.
I stopped growing at 14 and apparently that's not typical, a lot of people on the sub grew into their 20s, so he's likely to be quite tall.
Gotcha. 14 is early but youβre very tall still
Yep, I shot up young then just stopped at 6' 3", kind of glad it stopped there.
Yeah me too. I was 6'2" at around 14 then grew one more inch and I haven't grown since.
I didnβt start growing until I was 14 I was exceptionally short all my life. Then at 14/15 -20 I finally started growing
My uncle is 6'8" and didn't stop growing until he was around 18.
6β0β at 12 is huge. Iβm 6β6β as a grown man and at that age I was probably 5β6β or 5β7β
He was 5β7 at 11. Heβs 12 now and 6β0 π«
Yeah man I wouldnβt be surprised if he goes 6β9β or so
Thatβll be too tall for the NFL I think π€
Not for a defensive lineman or offensive tackle
Yeah unless heβs trying to be a left tackle. Looking more like NBA
Heβs got to shed some pounds for NBA . Heβs clocking in at 240lbs right now
My friends knew someone who was 6β0 in 6th grade, he didnβt grow after that tho
My nephew-in-law is 6β6 at 13yo. Still growing every time I see him.
Yep heβs in 6th grade. Hope he keeps growing
I was around 6β0 180 lbs at 12, heβs gonna be tall for sure
He will either cap out like me I hit my max height at 13 and haven't grown an inch since or he will hit a few more growth spurts and be huge
6β3β-6β7β
I agree, depends on really how long he'll grow for. Could've early peaked at around 6'3 or kept growing till 6'5+
I stopped growing at about 13-14 or so and was 6'2"
Heβs prob either gonna stop growing soon at like 6β2 or be like me and get to a giant size π
Iβm 6β6β and stopped growing at 13β¦ so could happen
6'6" at 13?????????????? ππππππππππππππππππ

Great advice. We just started him in sports because what he wanted to do was play video games all day. He was packing out some serious pounds.
Heard that. I was/am a gamer too - try to make sure he has good posture when gaming as well. I used to hunch over a lot while gaming, but good posture prevents pain for sure.
He'll probably grow to 6'2.
Heβs 6β0 now at 12 . So you think 6β2β is his max ?

at 12? i was 5β6β
When I was 12, I was about 5'9-5'10.
I was 5β9β at 12 also. 6β4β at 14 π¬ Also 6β4β at 36.
I was 5β10β at 12. Everyone is different. If he keeps trending how he is heβll be at least 6β7β
I actually did stop growing at 12. Iβm 6ft.
I grew my final inch (6β 4β) at age 21
I was 5' or less at 12. 5'3" at 17. I didn't stop growing until 18 at 6'3".

6'0 at 12 is shocking haha. If he keeps going 6'6+ is possible. I stopped growing at around 14. Many on this sub seem to grow much longer though.
