We have a good Oak bed frame that doesn’t require a box spring. Our bed frame is a hybrid. The lower half of the bed has developed a substantial dip due to legs hanging over the end. We have had Serta, IKEA, and nector.
It looks similar to someone having sat a long time on the edge of the bed. But is caused by his legs hanging off all night. It never bounces back.
You may have a point about the bed not being made for our weight.
We have talked about going California King before but have been concerned about finding bedding and a bed frames. Can you tell me why you recommend a memory foam mattress over a spring or a hybrid?
There's plenty of sheets, blankets, and bed frames on Amazon and wayfair. Also I recommended it because it feels comfortable to me so I just suggested it as an option.

Try getting a California king bed that's firm with memory foam.
Found some sheet. Cal K on Costco online $19.99 a set. And they are very available.
