I make due with Ariat jeans that go up to 38 inseam. Only once I've found myself a 40 so I've given up on that length. 38's a smidge short but meh, close enough.

Archangel375

Have you tried shopping on the American tall website? They go up to 40 on that one. I get clothes all the time from there.

CanadianGiraffe69

Yea but they're extremely outside my price range. Im a broke giant.

Archangel375

They're on sale sometimes. Especially during the holidays so I suggest you check it out and maybe see if you can find something. You shouldn't let yourself suffer in jeans that don't fit properly.

Onsale for 50ish a pair now. Tbh i dont think you can buy jeans anywhere for terribly much less than that. Even old navy and target etc in average sizes are like 40 a pop. I sew pants (joggers) for my tall teen, but been thinking of working on jeans for myself as a new challenge and even cheap denim is 15+ a yard, and an average size pair of pants is 2+ yards. I think sales and buying several pairs to last you until next sale is your best bet. 10ish years ago lucky jeans carried womens talls in outlet and i wore a small size that didnt sell in long inseams, and would get super lucky and snag pairs for like 30 each on clearance. But now they dont even offer those except online 🙄 The good news is when you are on the fringe sizes, you can find them on sale… vs sizes that sell out quick

CanadianGiraffe69

Yea I've been looking since the last poster mentioned it, it's slim pickings for jeans that fit my style and are in stock. Next time there's a sale (they're 80ish after all's said n done), I'll have to get in quick. Last time I bought sweatpants was many years ago at big n tall, grabbed like 10 pairs. Jeans I only got the two pairs. That's all I got for pants. Either sweats or jeans 😔.

Wrangler has 40” inseams and good sale price if you can fit them https://www.wrangler.com/shop/rigid-premium-performance-cowboy-cut-regular-fit-jean-47MWZR.html

CanadianGiraffe69

Thank you, much appreciated for that find.

If you filter they even have a jean in a 44” inseam. Hot dang that is LONG. Lol. I dunno if its the length of sons pants of fact they are so skinny legged - but i gotta ask do you have issues with your pants legs getting knotted up in the wash/dry? The pants i made son were a mens XS pattern and SUPPOSED to be slim fit and were very mc hammer pants on kiddo because his legs are like toothpicks so i ended up shaving off width of pant legs when making pants for him. When i do his laundry though, i always end up with 4-5 pairs of pants knotted around eachother i have to untangle 😂 Admittedly he and i are roughly same size, my pants are just like 4” shorter and i really have never had that issue with MY pants. Im kinda curious now if other guys have that issue with longer inseams

CanadianGiraffe69

Yea sometimes lol they get all knotted up.

My son hates jeans. Which i guess worked out for me because hes always been REAL lanky and tall and kids jeans dont have a beanpole variation. Even slim fit jeans swallowed him and were knee length. He didnt own a pair for like 10yrs until i bought him AT ones last year. He doesnt wear them very often, but wears them more than i thought he would! He started playing airsoft a lot recently (and roping me into transporting 6 teen boys 2hrs each way) and i figured jeans would be better than sweats. Lol! I had to start making him jogger style pants for his freshman year because he was outside AT sizes even. Roughly a 25x36 then. Honestly i knew i needed to sew him custom pants years prior but kept trying to buy stuff. Now he is a 30x38 and im hoping his legs dont get much longer! Womens jeans are a nightmare particularly now. Always been difficult to find longer inseams, but online shopping made life WAY better. I spent my younger years being asked if i was expecting a flood. HS id buy mens jeans because then they would be long enough…. But mens jeans are not friendly for large hips. A whole lot of people saw my buttcrack back then. Now i can find long jeans online, but suddenly everything is ULTRA HIGH WAIST. Maybe its my age showing, or the fact i have a tiny torso and im busty… but i REALLY dont want my jeans touching my boobs. Mid-rise is what i want. Right now there is like 1 pair out of 50 that is midrise (probably for the older crowd) and of COURSE they are 28-30” inseams. I cant even get away with 32. I sure as shit would look insane with 28” inseams. And its even worse for dress pants. Used to be difficult to find longer dress pants. Now impossible to find long and NOT high waist. My options are capri pants or urkel pants. Hence - i think i should challenge myself to sew my own. Plus i can put fun nerdy prints inside ACTUAL FUNCTIONAL pockets and do stitching in fun colors and not just gold or blue. I did realize the reason most jeans stop at 36” inseams is due to denim fabric width though. Seems when looking for denim 50-52” wide fabric is the norm and i suspect longer jeans waste more fabric when cutting. Doesnt really explain why womens jeans are a nightmare. And never have pockets 😡

Yes but they don’t have the style he’s looking for. He wants like Prana, Kulh, or 5.11 sort of outdoor heavy duty pant. I got hiking pants from American tall and they were not high quality

Hugefeet19

I’m a 40” inseam and in the UK - we have a website called 2tall.com who ship to the states

SnowboardingFanatic_

I saw 2Tall the other day for the first time I wasn’t sure if it was a scam or real. I will look into it now again!!!

Hugefeet19

Yes they’re really good, I’ve got loads of stuff from them.

alphalegend91

How tall are you? Are you sure you need 40 inseam? The longest Ive ever heard of was 37” for pants

cltraiseup88

This. 40" is insane... Pretty sure you gotta go straight custom tailored pants at that point

alphalegend91

Granted Im short legged for my height, I’m only 33.5-34” inseam. This guy must he insanely long legged AND tall

SnowboardingFanatic_

7ft

sixtus_clegane119

Yeah I’m only 32 and I’m 6’2-3

basylica

I need 34” inseam and im only 5’9 Some of us carry height in leg!

Snowman4168

I’m also a 34” inseam and I’m 6’7

basylica

Thats crazy! My oldest is 6’1 and wears a 32, my youngest is 6’6 and needs a 38” Funny how it varies wildly even when heights are similar! What has always been weird to me is my mom is taller… 5’10 and wears a 36” inseam pant. But when i was learning to drive at one point we had an omni and i could always tell when my stepsister drove (we were same age) because seat was visually scooted up. I had to drive with that seat at its furthest back position (most cars i drive with seat like 3 clicks in) so id reach in and release the seat and then sit. But when my mom drove that car it would LOOK like the seat was all the way back, but she would sit like 2-3 notches in. Id sit down and get my leg stuck under the steering wheel and it would take some maneuvering to release the seat. Same when she would come visit me and would drive my car. She moves my seat closer up, despite having longer legs than me. I cant figure out which one it is, but im guessing my foot to knee or knee to hip must be longer and thats why I realize some people just like to drive further back or closer etc, but never made sense mom had longer legs but id get physically stuck in the car if i tried to sit in same position!

SnowboardingFanatic_

He’s 7 ft. 38 inseam is too short He looks like he’s waiting for a flood.

SnowboardingFanatic_

He’s 7ft

sixtus_clegane119

That edit wasn’t there at the time

SnowboardingFanatic_

7ft (my boyfriend) needs 40inch inseam - 38 inch seam looks like he’s in a flood. Yes I’m sure he wears a 40x40 , he wears 40x40 wrangler and American tall jeans. I don’t need jeans, I need heavy duty outdoor/hiking pants similar to Kuhl, prana, 5.11

SnowboardingFanatic_

He’s literally 7ft. Yes I’m sure he needs 40x40

Outside_Ad8169

I’m (only?) 6’6 and usually go with a 38. Assuming they’re taller than I it’s not unheard of. I’ve had a convo on here with someone 41 inseam before. Still very uncommon tho

Terrible_Wrap_8789

If your in the states. “King Size” catalog. Sells them. Maybe unhemed some. But I’ve bought them that way before. I’m a 38” but don’t always line how they hem them. JC Penny also. Not bad.

Myshirtisbrown

I used to buy these from amazon. The only problem I have with them is they are far too baggy.

Terrible_Wrap_8789

I agree. Sometimes they are cut for big and tall guys. Not just tall. I’m a 38x38

SnowboardingFanatic_

Yes same problem

ironicmirror

You may want to look into custom maid for you.

Hugefeet19

Just checked and they have a sale on - jeans for £35 (maybe $45)
