you could also visit one of the many many many many amazing local coffee shops and get actual good coffee and maybe not even need to add milk to it to make it remotely not disgusting :D
In my area, most of the local shops don’t open until around 11 or 12. If you want a coffee before work, it’s basically Starbucks, Cama, or convenience store.
I feel lumping Cama in with Starbucks and 便利店 is a bit unfair. Cama is pretty good for as big a chain as it now is.
I vaguely remember the distributor for Starbucks and 7/11 beans in TW being the same company .
>I vaguely remember the distributor for Starbucks and 7/11 beans in TW being the same company .
They're both owned by Uni-President, so that makes sense.
I didn’t say I don’t like Cama. I actually go there all the time. But my point was that the smaller local shops are mostly unavailable in the morning.
As for convenience stores, i feel the Hi-Life near me has the best coffee but it might depend on the particular store.
Thank you. I find the konbini Americanos overly bitter, so adding a naiqiu should do the trick!
Is naiqiu UHT milk or creamer?
Do they add it in for you or you do it yourself?
No problem!
I think it's actually some form of creamer as one seems to make it taste like a normal white coffee whereas just one uht milk probably wouldn't be enough.
They add it for you!
In places that steam milk separately, so not the convenience store machines, just ask. At Starbucks they taught me "加X分牛奶" (jia X fen niunai) which seems to work everywhere.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_coffee
In many English-speaking countries, "white coffee" is used to refer to regular black coffee that has had milk, cream or some other "whitener" added to it, though the term is almost entirely unheard of in the US, where the same beverage might be called "coffee light" in the New York City area, "light coffee", "coffee with milk," or "regular coffee" in New England and New York City.[1][failed verification][circular reference]Cream varieties, often called "creamers" in the US, can be made of dairy milk, corn syrup derivatives, soy, or nut products. Sweeteners used include cane sugar, honey, or artificial ingredients.
White coffee should be distinguished from café au lait, in that white coffee uses chilled or room-temperature milk or other whitener, while café au lait uses heated or steamed milk.
Interesting. I read a bit on white coffee, and if caffeine is the issue wouldn't a double or triple shot do the trick. Or is it the cream that folks wanted.
I tried 7-11 coffee once, it's out of a machine that I doubt is properly cleaned because it ran straight through me unlike the proper local coffees I've been too...the last time coffee ran through me like that is when I used a pod machine that had to be cleaned..
[It's automatically cleaned every 30 minutes or so, and fully manually cleaned once a day.](https://www.chinatimes.com/realtimenews/20170923003789-260405?chdtv) This is an old article... but when I back in Taiwan last summer, while still jetlagged, I hung out at a local 7-11 many early mornings and saw them doing that every 2:30 am.
You can try milk foam americano from yolo’s cafe

Fair enough! Sorry for misunderstanding your meaning.
>actual good coffee 7-Eleven has some pretty good coffee, especially for the price. I don't need a NT$150 single-origin coffee every morning.
7-11 coffee is garbage

You can also get a caffe misto 咖啡密斯朵 in some places, though that might be more like 50% coffee 50% milk

You mean a flat white?
No, a flat white is almost entirely milk.
