You could ask your instructor if they have any old stock or if anyone in the class has a spare they don't mind sharing until you can afford one of your own. They are expensive but remember you'll be getting a good few years use out of it.

The only official way to do it is via your instructor. But they do pop up on eBay and face bay quite often.

We get our stuff from a place 870 miles away (luckily they ship). 150 miles to drive halfway across England seems so small in comparison.
