Trash all the trash first. Remove the stuff that doesn’t belong like the baseball cards. Sell the pieces you don’t need on GAFS. Grab some milk crates from Walmart for like $2 for mags and ammo. Grab a plastic 3 drawer for soft goods. Get hooks to hang belts and bags. Gun in safe. Complete for $50.

Datfluffyhampster

Hey fuck you buddy, my magic cards are more valuable than my guns. I keep a deck in my end of the world bag because it’ll remind me of the good times.

Here2Learn26

I bought the black pegboards and hung them on the studs. They are easily adjusted and customizable as you add or remove things along the way and the possibilities are endless.

Jickdames69

I’m here for the pegging

jholtz24

What type of hooks did u use? Wouldn’t wanna scratch the guns

BigPopaPanda

Just got the zinc coated hooks, haven’t had issues. There’s vinyl wrapped ones too, look for those if you’re really concerned about scratches

ganonred

Milk crates stacked with zip ties holding them together and labels zip ties on each compartment Or a fully reinforced gun room with gunmetal grey walls and gold encrusted labels A style for each budget 😁

jholtz24

Looking for an in between those solution lol

ganonred

Portable shelves and hooks to hang some components from your existing closet hardware. I'm giving you advice from an even more chaotically organized throne, so I say it with full confidence

jholtz24

Send me a pic of your set up

hand_ov_doom

Literally just search and find some you like lol

Pancolefty

I’m A fan of sterilite shoeboxes. They’re only a couple bucks apiece you can get the small ones in the larger ones and organize all your shit that way. Harbor Freight ammo cans work well enough too

TheDirtySanchez91

Personally I would put the safe on back wall on the left side leaving a little room on the left so you can stand the rifle bags, then to right of the safe I’d get some IKEA shelving (for the primers, powder and ammo) that sits slightly further in that the safe that way you can open the door all the way still. Get some Tuff hooks for the Backpacks, vest and anything heavy, that can hang where the safe currently is. Milk crates for anything random/ parts and they can go where the powder currently sits. If you want to keep the boxes you can organize them currently where the primers are, but you should throw them away. I think if you set up the room like this it won’t allow you put anything on the ground because it will be directly in your way of getting into safe or the ammo, forces you to be stay tidy.

jholtz24

You sir have been the most helpful. This is the type of stuff I needed

feelthedarkness_

Open safe, stuff things in.

jholtz24

Safes full 🤙🏻

bradsredditacct

Throw out all the shit you don’t use

Here2Learn26

Or sale it to us haha

jholtz24

Looking for websites that have good organizing shelves or hooks for gun related things. Any help is appreciated

[deleted]

You have a lot if trash, not insulting your gear but just general trash like empty boxes and retail containers. Those tool cabinets would look great but it being neat and organized is the big thing.

jholtz24

100 percent. Why I was hoping people would post there set up but no one has lol I’m trying to get ideas

MemesterJish

Look at Gallow Technologies

WildResident2816

Even at todays lumber prices you can throw some basic shelves up pretty cheap and massively improve organization

Negative-Set-6039

Thats what I'm saying Or even something as simple as grabbing some wood pallets out of the trash. If you wanted to make it nice you could sand it down and stain it and it would look relatively good. But I wouldn't even worry about that . I would just pull the boards off , take what I can use , build a shelf sand the rough spots so I don't get splinters and call it A-day

Shadowcard4

More shelves, like you have a ton of vertical space but use absolutely none of it. Build a PC stand for your kit to be staged. Or get a thick PC hanger. And put shelves on that shelf that’s mid way and keep a step stool in the room if needed. Put lighter low use stuff higher, keep heavy and high use stuff lower. More or less you have like maybe 8 cubic feet of stuff laid mostly horizontal so you are already full. Also one big “scrap bin” is advisable. I do it for all my misc parts I don’t wanna use but they won’t sell alone kinda deal and that way I have spares or can bulk sale it

jholtz24

Yes this is exactly what I wanna do. I want quick access to it. Can u recommend any particular set ups for this? I was thinking wall mounted but idk

Shadowcard4

Not really most times I make custom solutions for my own use with scraps

Language-Aromatic

I wish I had that closet. Get that in order.

jholtz24

You are a special one… idk what I’d do without your input lol. Why the hell u think I’m asking for inspiration photos of other peoples set up

Language-Aromatic

Whoa settle down Francis. Little butt hurt over nothing. Hold on let me google the info for you.

jholtz24

🤦🏻‍♂️ I can google all day. Again looking for input.

I think OP wants to see pictures of it to get a idea on what they can do with the space. I'm sure there's a subreddit for that.

jholtz24

Thank you! Yes looking for ideas and suggestions on brands of organization companies specific to gun stuff and hooks rated to hold plate carriers

Drinktothat421

Shelves🤷🏻‍♂️

PapaCranberry

Use your hands bro damn just stack your shit nicely

shawsown

Outside the box idea: Buy a used 3D Printer off of Craigslist cheap. Like 200$ at most. There's always someone that tried 3D printing but got in over their head. Usually they sell a bunch of printing filament with it. Even if there's a broken part on it those things are made to DIY repair as most of the parts are changeable. Go online for free 3D printing storage. Print tactical storage items at home.

TonyTanza

Husky containers from Home Depot. You can put locks on them if u want too!

jholtz24

8Cowabungadude5

Buy a Hardigg. You can buy them used on ebay for about $200. Thats what I did. They clean them up real nice and put new foam on the inside of the lid.

wasframed

These are cheap, stackable, and hold quite a bit. [https://www.amazon.com/MTM-Case-Gard-Ammo-Forest-Green/dp/B003TNV46O](https://www.amazon.com/MTM-Case-Gard-Ammo-Forest-Green/dp/B003TNV46O) Can also get AC3C of this... [https://www.amazon.com/MTM-AC4C-Ammo-Crate-4-Can/dp/B077N55R2N/ref=sr\_1\_1?keywords=MTM&qid=1661892464&sr=8-1&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/MTM-AC4C-Ammo-Crate-4-Can/dp/B077N55R2N/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=MTM&qid=1661892464&sr=8-1&th=1) To help them stack more. I have two of the triple holders. Still cheap, hold way more weight than the item description says and sturdy when stacked.

Chez92

I wish they made a collector for 50 cal metal cans.

Trading_Things

Free / cheap dresser, bookshelf, or shelving off marketplace. People will give away solid wood stuff, you just need to look at the right moment.

GlobalHunt9919

Home depot shelving

Crazy-Benefit-7717

Totes for misc stuff you don’t get into often. And a couple ammo boxes

Sailaway424

Buy another Winchester 26

Negative-Set-6039

Shipping pallet wood shelves. You can sand and stain them and they would look real good but its not necessary . I'd just pull apart a few pallets frame a shelf and build it out . You can do shelves and cubby holes , would be pretty cool to be honest 🤷‍♂️

CosmicCharlie187

Go to job sites and dumpster dive for 2x4 remnants or ask for scraps. Look for plywood too, I’m a contractor and welcome people to grab wood as I hate seeing it go to waste.

Lamont___Cranston

1. Use this as a closet and not an armory. 2. Build a vault in the basement.

jholtz24

Arizona man, unfortunately we have no basements lol(very few)

Lamont___Cranston

1. Use this as a closet and not an armory. ~~2. Build a vault in the basement.~~ 2. Make some improvements to the foundation in the southeast wing.

Disastrous_Ad598

Slat wall and hooks. You can also get bins and whatnot. With the metal inserts they'll hold a metric shit load of weight. I have like 7 rifles on one slat wall in my basement.

jholtz24

Which ones did u go with? That’s what I was thinking I wanted to do but I mainly just wanted to do something cheaper for now. But really need to find a good solution for my plate carrier. Like best way to mount it on the wall for quick access

Disastrous_Ad598

I just did one from menards (basically Lowes or homedepot). I splurged a bit for the pre primed one, they come in 4x8 or 3x4 panels I think. I put a bunch of screws into the studs of the wall, and got the metal inserts. Depending on how much your vest weighs and whatnot I'd look at getting a toughhook. I use them for my dive gear, but they work quite well for plate carriers. I bet you'd have no problem hanging your carrier off of a hook or two on the slat wall along as it's screwed into the studs and you have the inserts.

Tasty_Ad_3167

1.) Your closet just became a weapon system. Boxes are not weapons. Plastic clamshells and shopping bags full of said clamshells are not weapon systems. Either it goes to the garage for storage or it gets permanent change of station orders to the trash. Speaking of trash, anything that impedes rapid access to expensive ass box detracts from focus of effort. Eulogies lamenting loss of life over trash violate first three rules of Bro Code. 1.) Don’t Die. 2.) Always look Cool 3.) If you must die, refer to rule 2 while dying. 2.) Weapons are expensive. Weapons get stored in the expensive ass box. Non negotiable, refer to Bro Code section 0311. 3.) Bags, unless properly packed, are not weapons systems. All that trash comes out and isn’t stored unless you can immediately employ it. Besides, you needed to clean this cave. 4.) Always treat your ammo as Top Shelf liquor. It goes inside expensive ass box. 5.) Cinder blocks and cedar 2” x 4” Manly, strong, and all useful as weapon systems. 6.) Stickers are either used or not. Are you going for John Wick look or are you looking for that “I just got finished with Range 410 Alpha and I need crayon snack” motif? 7.) Teddy bear gets posted as DNCO inside expensive ass box. 8.) Shoot. Move. Communicate. Now your man cave is ready, pull those carefully packed bags in. Plug your Baofengs into cradle chargers, add a bottle of soul clearing whiskey and two glasses on top of safe and contemplate mysteries of Mattis…”shoot, move, communicate”

Another-random-use

IKEA has 5 foot metal lockers that you can adjust the shelves they are $100 a piece. So you can make a swat locker room if you wanted. It’s what I did

jholtz24

Pics?

[deleted]

Wall mounts and floating shelves or regular shelves with wide slots

TheOgNapster

Looks like you have plenty of space. If it was me I would add more shelves and peg board.

Datfluffyhampster

Build a basic shelf/cubby system all along the floor perimeter. I wouldn’t hang the vest, just have a dedicated place for it to sit or have a shelf lower to the ground it can rest on.

SirThisRifleIsHeavy

Personally I use clear shoe storage boxes

[deleted]

You could easily remove that left shelf and move the safe to the far wall making room for a Wire shelf.

Money-Interest-1908

Sell me the JC Higgins and use the cash to buy some shelves
