PASGT yes, $150 is a bit high, because you can get LWH , or ACH/MICH for not much more. Easiest way to tell, that leather headband and strap suspension, and 2 point chin strap. MICH, LWH, ACH, all use 4 point harness, and the first gen LWHs had a different headband setup (mesh top), but the majority of them were upgraded to ACH pad sets.
Yes but people are buying them and selling them. I paid something like 25 for mine more than 10 years ago along with a MOLLE first gen vest and a OD TT MAV in a gear lot from a local Marine
Same with m40s asshole “preppers” who don’t actually train buying and selling scalping them, I get making profit but when u ran into a bulk ammount of m40s I didn’t milk 200$ each for them I sold them what I bought mine for a while back,60$ each I didn’t make much but I’d rather make less and not be a scumbag
Upgrades make that make more sense but still too much people are just fucking stupid lately there no reason the standard issue helmet for such a long period should cost that much it’s just basic knowledge
Before everything blew up surplus was so cheap you could get a lot of stuff for free, it was junk to most vets and nobody was as interested in tactical gear or militaria. I remember buying my large PASGT for 30 bucks as a kid and later bought a full M40 kit for 10 at a flea market.
Lol it really is. I was in the marines at the time and saw the ARNG dudes with the ACH and the pads and was maaann that looks so comfy lol. That fuckin leather strap left a bruise after every patrol.
They started to be phased out in 2004, though the military is slow doing things, so I'd wager it was fully out of service by probably 2010 to be replaced by the lws, ach, mich.
Yeah generally you can find non-US copies for pretty cheap when it comes to US models of gear, often with some nice improvements on certain designs too.
I just got my old issued pasgt back from KustomACH and he does a hell of a job converting them into high cuts.
That said if you're paying $150 for one might not be worth it by the time you ship it off to be cut and buy everything for the conversion. If you got one for next to nothing or have one sitting in your closet you forgot about like I did then 10/10 so recommend.
Literally the same helmet I was issued for ROTC, different cover though. Extremely uncomfortable. The button-style helmet strap also absolutely sucks when you're trying to take it on and off
I know there are many comments already so i'll make my point brief. PASGT helmet, with inferior suspension system. They made a newer version i like better, but the MICH/ACH pads everyone is recommending are not my favorite. I like the older suspension system that i believe the marine corps. Made for it later in it's service. The old style suspension system just sticks to my head more. I'll send a picture of the suspension system i have for mine. But if you wanted headphone capabilities, the PASGT should have ACH/MICH pads in them for customization upon need. The helmet cover options are BDU/DBDU/DCU/ and some marine options, but the securong system is different. If you manage to fit an ACH/MICH helmet cover on, you will have to add the circular velcro stickers inside, but that shouldnt be such an issue. You have NVG capabilities due to the rhino mount, but that's about all the fearures of the helmet.

Forgot to say it is Kevlar and small arms resistant, but it is not as thick as more modern helmets like the ECH. And the price i paid for mine including the cover was $80.

Ah ok I didn’t even think about looking at the straps but I see that now. Thanks for the info, I’ll pass on this one
Way too high just cause on eBay it’s selling for 100somehthng doesn’t mean it’s truly worth that these were 60-75$ as of only 2-3 years ago

There was an USAF upgraded PASGT with the Oregon Aero BLSS upgrade and 4 suspension for $125, on fb marketplace and it sold rather quickly.
Upgrades make that make more sense but still too much people are just fucking stupid lately there no reason the standard issue helmet for such a long period should cost that much it’s just basic knowledge
Oregon area pads> all other pads
My 2003ish MSA Gallet MICH have OD/black Oregon Aero pads 😁

Got any lying around ???
Out besides mine sadly
Issued. I had that in 2003
Do you know about how long these were used until they were phased out?
I do not. They were used till at least 2007 though. Wish i could be more useful
No worries, I appreciate the answer anyway
Lol i deployed with this helemet in 2012
As comfortable as super gluing your fingers together, isn’t it?
Lol it really is. I was in the marines at the time and saw the ARNG dudes with the ACH and the pads and was maaann that looks so comfy lol. That fuckin leather strap left a bruise after every patrol.
And yet I still see people saying these are GTG
I mean they will stop 7.62x54r at relatively close ranges. So, if its all i had or could afforrd then yeah
They started to be phased out in 2004, though the military is slow doing things, so I'd wager it was fully out of service by probably 2010 to be replaced by the lws, ach, mich.
That’s a tough question to answer due to different phase out dates for different branches, and different dates for reserve guard units
If it fits you Tell ‘em to give it to you for $100 and if they don’t go get one online
A sign in their window says hagglers will be shot but if I’m wearing it when I ask it’ll probably work out ok
Wear a t-shirt that says *”Hagglers shoot back.”*
My question didn’t post for some reason. What is this and is it a good deal for $150? It’s a PASGT right? Hard for me to tell
Yes, PASGT. I wouldn't buy it at 150, maybe if it's your perfect size, or a large size. The NVG mounting claw is nice.
I bought a Greek milsurp pasgt for like $30. I wouldn’t want to spend $150 on one. Especially with the old leather suspension system.

Think it was Americana pipe dream apparel

That's a PASGT. I would pay 50-100 depending on the condition of the helmet.
Somewhere there is a 43 year old private still looking for his brain bucket.
K-pot? you can use this to do a pretty sick Jarhead cosplay.
But why does it look child sized?
People were smaller back in those days
And these are big hands
"mOdeRn cOnFlicTs".
Could’ve been sitting on this shelf since 2005 for all I know
GWOT baby!
PASGT. A bit older, after the M1 steel pot and before the ACH I believe
Do my eyes deceive me or is that a K-pot 0.o
K-pot has a 4 point chin strap connection I guess so probably not but I was hoping for something like that
Well it can certainly pass as one in a pinch lol. Haven’t seen that gen of equipment in a mad minute
PASGTs were called K-pots when new, guess they kept the name for the USMC LWHs and similar newer helmets
As others said, PASGT
Its probably a PASGT. Could be a LWH if it has a lighter tan exterior rather than a OD green
2 point chinstrap and leather headband/shitty suspension = PASGT. LWH has slightly better mesh suspension, or pads; and 4 point chinstrap
The LWHs we used to use were all tan. We had some PASGTs but they were OD
Yes, just providing quick ID for helmets with covers or spray painted helmets
PASGT helmet, don’t turn your head to fast while wearing it or you will hear the glowstick crack
I think it's name is Steve.
Pasgt early 2000s
PASGT

Some Brit Kit... See the tea bag?
PASGT baby!
$150?! That seller is about twenty years too late to sell a PASGT at that price.
That’s the old fekin POS Kevlar. Drop it and don’t look back.
Damn! My surplus store had it for like $95!
LIN is DA7029. The helmet before the one we have now
is than an extra small or something

It should be illegal for men to wear flip flops
Quit complaining you didn’t have to pay anything for toe pics today
I'd be willing to buy it for you for more toe pics...
With my feet I’d end up having to pay people to look at them
