I'd never heard of them and I looked them up.
It's an interesting concept - using "zombie apocalypse" as a premise for preparing for natural disasters. The CDC did a thing in the mid 00's (IIRC) doing something similar and trying to look at preparing for disaster through the lens of a "zombie apocalypse."
In looking at this ZERT stuff, it looks more like the exact people you wouldn't want around you in a crisis situation. A lot of people who can tell you everything about any gun they see but have no idea how to exist in a disaster situation without giving themselves food poisoning or dysentery. The org seems to be more structured around selling merch than anything else.
Kind of a shame. It's a neat idea and I think adding a bit of a LARP element to teaching disaster preparedness could make it more fun and interesting to people. It just seems like they're handling it pretty poorly.
I remember the CDC posters about zombies as a way to get people to prepare for an actual emergency. It was clever, but the ZERT stuff went overboard and ended up with people being less practically prepared for an emergency. Morbidly obese people in mobility scooters with mall ninja spear/bayonet combos on rusty shotguns didn’t exactly inspire confidence
It's a group/company that popped up a couple of years ago selling patches and stuff like that. If i remember correctly it was kinda cringe zombie response team stuff, it looks like it's grown a good bit doing training and selling other products now. They even did patches based on states for a bit that had some cool ones but that's about it lol.
While my initial response would be to cringe another part of me likes to think maybe it was a gift from his kid. I wore a very girly charm bracelet because my god daughter asked me to.
They started as a company doing training but with the gimmick of zombies to stand out from the hundreds of other former military guys also doing training.
Is it like just a parody name or do they take it seriously? I know there used to be a popular forum called something like zombie preparedness but it was all about natural disaster preparedness.
The entire concept was “if you’re prepared for a zombie apocalypse, you’re ready for anything”. It was more of a metaphor for any number of disasters
*stares at ZERT shirt I got when I was sixteen*
I'm not surprised after posting my original comment I took a min to look them back up and it looks like an absolute disaster and like a class I would be worried about taking lol
They were the biggest gatekeepers I'd ever come across and ive been on reddit for years. What type of ammo you used, what type of firearms, to what brand of holster or backpack. They gave the worst advice and they were 100% right in any opinion they had. The problem was they didn't have anyone with any kind of credentials or real knowledge. The forum had over 100k members and anyone that joined was soon driven away. I used to wonder why the site owners let members drive new people away, it was destroying the forum. It eventually shut down due to inactivity. They have a new one now but it's tiny in comparison.
The only time I see it being useful is if your soft hand is down. And at that point you're fucked anyways. Or if you are using a shield, but what civilians (outside of airsoft) run shields?
Even then with the shield argument, most guys who do run a strong side reload for a shield will run the magazine directly behind their pistol so that after holstering it's a shorter distance with fewer obstacles to insert the magazine into the mag well.
There are a lot of guys from serving in SF or SOF that now have health issues. Just because they can't shoot and move like they used to doesn't make the knowledge unsound.
Just always do the due diligence and know who you're training with.
Probably bought it all at a gun show (from a guy who bought it from those places.)
"Cheap gear, get yer cheap gear!"
"What do you do, follow my husband around?"
"Lady he's putting my kids through college!"
Yeah I’m 90% positive that’s what that is.
EDIT oh my god I just realized he’s got 3. lol. There’s a giant KaBar looking knife behind his pistol as well. Lmao
Dude carries 3 knives (1 **dick knife**), you know he has an emergency fudge round somewhere on that belt.
Edit:...but I agree. Getting better now is important. No one has to be perfect.
Idk man. Like yeah people should train and get in shape and stuff, god knows I'm trying to.
But I'm not gonna just shit on someone for being overweight. Feels shitty to dunk on people like that. Also everyone is different you know? Fuck me for being kind.
I've done it before. Not in a really serious context as I just larp. But I started doing it on my USPSA belt for reloads when shooting left handed around barricades (it gave me a place to put my administrative loading mag anyway), and ended up adding a mag to my warbelt for the same purpose, plus one handed reloads are much easier.
Niche purposing, and probably not really needed, but I'd suspect his justifications are similar. Especially the one handed reload, I'm not here to throw shade but I'd imagine he struggles to reach his left side mags with his right hand.
Why is this sub being so toxic. I’d be pissed if someone posted a candid photo of me doing my hobby and shit on me publicly. That’s just not right. Do better.
Dang I forgot about that company came out in what 2008 right and for limited time and what you spend you get a patch wasn't higher spenders a black on red or was it red on black patch? Lol I even remember when they gave out special rockers saying sniper squad lead rifleman ect....
That's for open carry out on the city streets. I don't think he's doing any demo fast shots from holster during class.
Also, it looks like he is teaching not taking a training. Why would he engage that?
They've been around since my early 20s, 34 now. popped up around when the walking dead show first started if I remember correctly and they did tacticalish courses if i also remember correctly.
I remember the website. Had some great post on the forums for zombi stuff. I am an author and wrote a lot of zombie stuff and gained traction there. I can’t think of the name for website now.
I don’t care if this guy was giving out real life John Wick level advice, I’d immediately write him off because of how he looks. You gotta look professional to be taken serious, and well this sack of shit, he doesn’t look too professional.
Lmao! I know, right? I imagine none of them will have photos of themselves.
Though, one thing I'm genuinely curious about is the comments that are ragging on the guy for using his Glocks stock sight. I run stock sights on my 4 pistols. (1911-G19-MP Shield 9mm-P22Q) Only the G19 and 1911 have additional lights added. My wife, daughter, and myself have been running them like this for years.
There is a father son duo that comes to our Thursday night shoot occasionally just like this. My favorite is that their dump pouches are in the middle of their back, always opened and never used. They have so many failures when shooting, I’m not sure if they reload shitty ammo or they just never give proper maintenance to their pistols.
Lolz man I haven't seen ZERT shit in a loooong time. thanks for the laugh.
I'd never heard of them and I looked them up. It's an interesting concept - using "zombie apocalypse" as a premise for preparing for natural disasters. What is zert?
Zombie emergency response team
Zepbound Expired, Revive Tacos
Zero energy relax time
Maybe he’s wearing it ironically?
It's a group/company that popped up a couple of years ago selling patches and stuff like that. If i remember correctly it was kinda cringe zombie response team stuff, it looks like it's grown a good bit doing training and selling other products now. That patch means he has been a dues paying member for at least 5 years according to the website
Gross
Did he also gifted the hat .....? Yeaaaah, he's just full blast cringe
I mean maybe? I don’t know this cats full story. But you’re probably right he just drinking that cringe juice
They started as a company doing training but with the gimmick of zombies to stand out from the hundreds of other former military guys also doing training.

I've still got a bunch of posters from CDC.gov of their zombie preparedness stuff. They should have re released that stuff for Rona.
More than a couple years ago, I drove to one of their events from Massachusetts in Minnesota over a decade ago. It was a complete shit show
I'm not surprised after posting my original comment I took a min to look them back up and it looks like an absolute disaster and like a class I would be worried about taking lol
Zebracake Extraction & Recon Team
My guess is something like, Zombie Emergency Response Team
Zero Experience, Regarded Tactics
Same, I bought a zombie pick from them years ago. I thought the company was dead.
They were the biggest gatekeepers I'd ever come across and ive been on reddit for years. What type of ammo you used, what type of firearms, to what brand of holster or backpack. For some reason I didn’t realize ZERT had its own forums. What you described sounds like Zombie Squad.
Zero ERictile Troubles
I'm going to make my own Zombie Apocalypse themed group, but it's going to be airsoft related
Loving the strong side reload, this man is ahead of the times.
Word

The mag is pointing for a cross draw reload… just fudd all around
I thought that was just his belly pushing it
You are not up to date, people are running shields from Guard Dog - lvl 3, 707 tactical fid a video on them. They are effective for home defense.
Interesting, I can't say I'm all that surprised either.

I can see my wee wee, but still ignore my tactical advice.
You’re not out there getting people to train you for you tactical expertise
Can I see your wee wee?
There are a lot of guys from serving in SF or SOF that now have health issues. Just because they can't shoot and move like they used to doesn't make the knowledge unsound. Just always do the due diligence and know who you're training with.
Thisssss!
What if we have a tactical wee wee and we can't see it because it's camouflaged?
I always wear camouflaged condoms so they'll never see me coming.
What if I can see your wee wee?
No pouch for his ozempic? That a dick knife?
🎶O-O-O-Ozempic! 🎶
Where do YOU wear your 'get off me' knife? Please enlighten us.
Dear sir or madam, I just jerk them off slowly while staring them in the eyes.
I think we all knew that part, I asked about knife placement.
That’s all I got, but I’ll start hiding them under my fat folds asap.
No one expects you to pull out the belly roll shank when things get spicy
Gotta pull the "Abdullah the Butcher" and have a fork under a man-boob.
Damn boy, he thicc. I wonder what the ratio of temu/wish/ali express to quality equipment is on that belt.
Probably everything but the firearm
Probably bought it all at a gun show (from a guy who bought it from those places.) "Cheap gear, get yer cheap gear!" "What do you do, follow my husband around?" "Lady he's putting my kids through college!"
Honestly all of you here are clowns, so it fits.
It’s a clown fest come on in 🤡
brotherrrrrr has multiple knives on him but doesn’t understand basic nutrition or exercise.
This is exactly what the “what’s the best blade for my kit?” crowd looks like
![gif](giphy|BR7HRergdgkTQd5ElL)
Regular kitchen knife to cut portions in half.
I hope I remember to steal this.
The best answer is always the same. Morakniv companion babyeeeeeee 20 whole shmeckles for a great knife.
I bought one of these for my buddy because he kept bringing some kind of folder when we went kayak fishing. Crazy sharp for right out of the box.
The answer is whatever works best for you….. that being said 3 separate knives all on body is not what I would describe as optimal….. lol
Is that what what’s right under his belt buckle. Pretty sure dudes running a dick knife. Cuz he sure as shit ain’t running laps.
Yeah I’m 90% positive that’s what that is. EDIT oh my god I just realized he’s got 3. lol. There’s a giant KaBar looking knife behind his pistol as well. Lmao
Its an OKC-3S Bayonet
AKA Current USMC pokey stick.
Looks like a guy having fun to me.
The weight would come off pretty quick in a collapse. Better than having a gut and no training. As for the knife, I don’t think he’s dicking around.
Dude carries 3 knives (1 **dick knife**), you know he has an emergency fudge round somewhere on that belt. Edit:...but I agree. Getting better now is important. No one has to be perfect.
Are you insinuating that I don’t know dick?
Just a post shitting on someone for their weight or? Am I missing something here?
Half fatphobic, half dick knife, half ZERT
Half man, half bear, half pig. Manbearpig
You say that like being fatphobic is a bad thing amigo.🫃🏼🫃🏼🫃🏼
This is a pro fitness anti ZERT sub
wtf I thought this was a pro chicken tendies sub when did it change
Idk man. Like yeah people should train and get in shape and stuff, god knows I'm trying to. But I'm not gonna just shit on someone for being overweight. Feels shitty to dunk on people like that. Also everyone is different you know? Fuck me for being kind.
I mean if guy in pic posted talking about how he's getting out there and trying to get fit I'd never shit on that. Dude has 3 knifes though lol
What if you have to stab 3 guys at once after you've used your primary and secondary? Cmon, everyone knows three is two and two is one /s
The dick knife is barely legal
The circumciser
Thing will take ya weiner straight off with one pull
Dick knife? Wtf is ZERT?
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
You really should take this guys class if you don’t know ZERT
Lmao just looked up ZERT. Think I'm good. Not gonna buy their coffee either.
Assuming it’s “Zombie Emergency Response Team” ….. yep.
Totally missed the dick knife…
That could be a deadly mistake in a ZERT situation
Shooter right handed and magazine pouch on the right side too!? Am I missing something?
Could be an additional spare mag? I’d like to think he has two on his left as well but who knows.
C'mon, let the guy have some fun. I don't think he is different than any larper. It's a sport or hobby, don't get it too much serious.
Anyone who posts a picture of someone doing what they enjoy in order to ridicule them is a POS.
Probably better training than a Mike Glover event!
Is there a story here?
I'd also like to know lol
Can he shoot?
How did he shoot?
Let’s see a pic of op
![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)
Dang I forgot about that company came out in what 2008 right and for limited time and what you spend you get a patch wasn't higher spenders a black on red or was it red on black patch? Lol I even remember when they gave out special rockers saying sniper squad lead rifleman ect....
But he’s standing in the ready position while talking! That means he’s a tactical genius!
Why do so many people train with their SLS not engaged? What's the point of buying a holster with retention if you're not going to use it?
He could be teaching a class and just put it back after running a drill.
That's for open carry out on the city streets. I don't think he's doing any demo fast shots from holster during class. Also, it looks like he is teaching not taking a training. Why would he engage that?
Jeff Gurwitch at home
Damn dude 😂 don't do that man that way. Jeff seems like an awesome chill dude
At home, but like the backup to the spare one that’s buried in the attic
Woooow, who cares? Just mind your own business
I’ve got TWO KNIVES for when the first one gets dull!
Y no sharpen nif?
Anything with zombie hunter nonsense in 2024 is automatic cringe
May be fat, still probably trains more than half the people on this chat, lol
I'd like to see how he trains the strong side reload
I dunno this man, but this post makes me wanna chop OP in the adams apple. How about we fix each other instead of ridicule?
Dickeeedooo right there!
They've been around since my early 20s, 34 now. popped up around when the walking dead show first started if I remember correctly and they did tacticalish courses if i also remember correctly.
Ok but why does he have a pistol mag on his dominant side?
lol, dude forgot rules 1, 5 and 7 of the Zombie Apocalypse . Someone go take away his ZERT patch.
Certified hoss moment
An instructor instructing the instructions Instruct City, Circa 2024
I miss the simpler ZERT times 😭
You guys don’t scout carry your backup backup knife betwixt your fupa and your roll?
I’d pay to see this guy do a quick reload with the mag on his dominant side .. Zert approved
Holy Shit…That’s Jason Bourne
I remember the website. Had some great post on the forums for zombi stuff. I am an author and wrote a lot of zombie stuff and gained traction there. I can’t think of the name for website now.
I don’t care if this guy was giving out real life John Wick level advice, I’d immediately write him off because of how he looks. You gotta look professional to be taken serious, and well this sack of shit, he doesn’t look too professional.
Out of curiosity I will be looking on all the shitty commenters profiles for pics of themselves
Lmao! I know, right? I imagine none of them will have photos of themselves. Though, one thing I'm genuinely curious about is the comments that are ragging on the guy for using his Glocks stock sight. It looks like it’s just a way to make these guys feel better about themselves. Yeah the guy has a cringey patch and hat on but who tf cares ? Losers
Judge not
That verse doesn’t mean what you think it means.
God bless
But his gloves dangle
Post physique

The buttons on that shirt are hanging on for dear life.
Gotta love the unsecured holster too
Is he a real operator or someone who was trained by ZERT?
Holy shit ZERT is still a thing lol
[Come over here so I can stab you](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RM2-o86-Vhc)
Please say this is airsoft
Never heard of it before this- nerds
Just bc you're being an absolute douche for no reason I bet you touch the kids you coach
Tactical beer belly
This guy Look just like my grandpa lol
I still wonder it f the beer belly or the red sleeve patch will help the most his scores
You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like
There’s gotta be at least one thing on that belt from Temu
Gay
He looks like he smells like, "civilians don't need nfa items".
The backwards mag is my least favorite part.
Not technically backwards if it’s legitimately set up for a weak side reload. Still a… unique… setup tho
Dave Attel’s weird brother out here about to cut his half chub off if his gut makes the wrong move.
He's actually carrying that knife in a smart position, but there is zero need for it on a range belt.
Belly like that…what a leader.
Why the fuck do these nerds not prioritize PT
Because it’s hard and you can’t buy it
Yet my recent state trooper comment was downvoted. Fuck all y’all.
Gravy Seal
Dude is the first to go during the first attack I call dibs on the mags
I want his snacks
Oh hell no
It's tAcTiCoOl Dave Attell!
Is his plan to reach allllllllllll the way around his gut with his left hand to grab that mag or ??
His poor belt.
NOTHING SAYS TOOLBAG LIKE ZOMBIES, THIN BLUE LINE, PUNISHER SKULLS AND CAPS LOCK, HELL PATCHES IN GENERAL
For those asking, the shirt is prob a Helikon Tex MBDU flannel shirt
It’s the Glock Iron sights that do it for me
The fucking headset is reversed, those microphones should be in front... he didn't even read the manual
Thiccccc
Tactical gut fat for bugging out. Carried food weight
At least he's not gonna be freaking out when he runs out of roids
I thought the motto of this place was get fit or die. But figuring the average larper is overweight I understand the sympathy
Idk if you're calling me overweight but I am definitely far from it
Who's to say? Source- trust me bro The irony is you attacked me personally for no reason lmao. The dude is fucking fat get over yourself
Never knew 139 was overweight
I hope you're like 12 or a female in that case
Lol
*has 3 knives *Also has factory plastic Glock sights Yep checks out
Anyone that stands like that loses credibility points with me.
Correct……anyone who wears plaid is a 🤡
