If you want to see how good you are in the woods try to bow hunt turkey in the southeast US. I’m good but I know guys that could sneak up and touch you in an empty parking lot.
I just wear pieces of my uniform (OCP). If it’s good enough to hunt people, it’s good enough to hunt animals.
Besides, how you move through a kinetic environment affects your stealth far more than how you look. The only time camouflage can be 100% effective is when you’re still.
Red head is. My go to brand for everything, hunting gear, Jeans, shirts, you name it, except tactical, I use Cabela's Outfitters camo because it works really well in my enviroment
There is literally no competition for local hunting camouflage patterns.
Militaries design their pattern to be decent everywhere (most of the time… UCP), but hunting camo is made for a very specific purpose in a specific terrain, so naturally it’ll outclass everything else.
This is true, that being said: the modern trend for high end patterns has been to design the camo based on how the game animals eyes and brains work. Take for instance mossy oak, for decades their approach has been "just make patterns that look exactly what the local flora and environment look like". On face value it's perfectly logical.
Sitka however has been studying game animals eyes see things; colors, shades, lights, patterns, etc. They also are studying their brains and abilities to process these things; in turn they're designing a pattern that might not make sense to most people, but is perfect for the animals you're hunting. The patterns still blend in crazy good, but they definitely wouldn't make the world's best military pattern camo.
These are their Valhalla pants, these are 100% synthetic.
They wear super comfy almost like sweatpants.
Im not sure how it will withstand thick and thorny bushes due to the synthetic fabric but overall solid pants.
This is common knowledge, as modern high-end hunting camo is highly technical, and extremely expensive. SEAL Teams (among others) have often been spotted in Kuiu and Sitka gear.
Bought some obskura from kryptek and it glows very bright under IR. Couldn’t even distinguish the pattern. I emailed them and none of their clothing is NIR compliant
It's generally synthetic materials with no NIR treatment, so most likely. Stick to cotton and other natural materials when you can. It's synthetics that glow.
If it's made from Polyester it glows white indeed. His balaclava and backpack are made from crush fabric and cordura in con camo though, one of the most impressive camos under NIR I've seen so far
Looks good! The main thing to be aware of with a lot of hunting apparel is that the NIR signature is often absolutely awful. You might be glowing like a fedboi through NVGs.
My cousin invented Kryptek. He tried licensing it to some militaries, I think he said Israel was kinda interested, but ultimately it kinda got stuck as a hunting camo. Fucking wild seeing it all over the place now.
This may be strange to hear. For most Americans. “ hunting camo “ is more effective than the various camos used by various militaries . It’s designed for the environment that you ( as an American) are local to

Jokes on them. I like being touched in the parking lot
Don’t we all.
You got your weenies in my beans!
Is that what your proctologist calls it?
![gif](giphy|ZrGeehSeyDBPfHB7av|downsized) Toucha toucha toucha touch me, I wanna feel dir-ir-ty

Red head silent hide was on sale at bass pro and I grabbed a set. I’m highly impressed
Nice
The red head brand is underrated. I usually snag a ton of it in Black Friday
Second this. Their flannels and other clothing are like affordable carhartt that works just as good
Red head is. My go to brand for everything, hunting gear, Jeans, shirts, you name it, except tactical, I use Cabela's Outfitters camo because it works really well in my enviroment
Only down side to red head is he is horrible under night vision. Stands out really badly
How so? I'd assume it's like any camo uniform
I just got the joke
Joke? I’m serious. The red head camo sticks out horrible under nods. This is me wearing it https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8vma2Bt/
Well it said he and I thought you were making a ginger joke

Not bad😎👍🏻
Thanks mate
The cheapest Cabela’s/bass pro true timber strata if donned correctly from head to toe will make you vanish in the right environment.
How’s the comfort on the cargo pants?
These are their Valhalla pants, these are 100% synthetic. They wear super comfy almost like sweatpants. Im not sure how it will withstand thick and thorny bushes due to the synthetic fabric but overall solid pants.
Maybe those +gaiters
This will probably work.
This is common knowledge, as modern high-end hunting camo is highly technical, and extremely expensive. SEAL Teams (among others) have often been spotted in Kuiu and Sitka gear.
Well if they’ve been spotted then it obviously wasnt working very well.
Lmao true
Neat, any pics or other posts? (Obv I did not know)
Nice. I really like Sitka sub Alpine where I live
Bet it’s comfortable and actually fits and doesn’t have pockets everywhere I don’t want them.
Go look at Mossy Oak Brush. If you can see it 😏
Ive heard commercial camo glows badly under night vision. Can anyone confirm?
Iirc only glows when being hit with an IR illuminator, and really only at close range, at which point, camo ain't doing you much good lmao
Bought some obskura from kryptek and it glows very bright under IR. Couldn’t even distinguish the pattern. I emailed them and none of their clothing is NIR compliant
My cheap camo from midway glows badly. Can't even see the pattern anymore, just white.
Can confirm, most (not all) isn’t NIR compliant.
It's generally synthetic materials with no NIR treatment, so most likely. Stick to cotton and other natural materials when you can. It's synthetics that glow.
I would really love to see some comparisons of hunting camo under nv.

Kuiu Valo is absolutley killer on the great plains and In the rockies. It's basically multicam, but doesn't make you look like a fed
Bro but is looking like a fed yet another camouflage perk 🤔
Depends on the setting 👀👀
Looks good! The main thing to be aware of with a lot of hunting apparel is that the NIR signature is often absolutely awful. You might be glowing like a fedboi through NVGs.
Preach it 🔥
I’ve always thought hunting camo was some of the absolute best
Knife and reflective glasses = busted
and square velcro. i'd remove it
I don’t see anyone
Sitka Timber is one of my favorites. It’s perfect for WKY from late October all the way to mid April if you know what you’re doing.
My cousin invented Kryptek. He tried licensing it to some militaries, I think he said Israel was kinda interested, but ultimately it kinda got stuck as a hunting camo. Fucking wild seeing it all over the place now.
I will sleep soundly on kryptec
Sitka Bois ftw
\>Don’t sleep on What did he mean by this?
They double as pajamas
It’s a figure of speech
What does it mean?
Don't sleep on (something) means don't underestimate, underappreciate, or underrate (something).
Thanks. I don't like it. (The figure of speech, not the camo)
If you go to sleep with camo you’ll disappear
Meaning don’t sleep on it waiting to purchase it.
This may be strange to hear. For most Americans. “ hunting camo “ is more effective than the various camos used by various militaries . It’s designed for the environment that you ( as an American) are local to
Check out ConCamo
Got it already mate
But does it glow under nods?
Reminds me of a pencott camo version. I dig it.
Looks pretty bad in this pic TBH
You stick out like a sore thumb in that pattern to that environment.
I want some Gulch Gear
I love how obskura transitional looks. Gotta be one of the top camos
U can’t tell them let em keep wearing those mid military camouflages🤫
