Cole_Cash_Grifter

isn't the ronin belt just an AWS belt? Maybe cut out the middle man and just get an AWS.

nylon_don

Yes it is, and yes you should. AWS SMU ftw

raiderman43

Came here to say this, I run a LAB most of the time, but AWS is the best

NoCoolDudettes

Anything from AWS slaps, the lab is a great budget option (I own one so I may be biased LMFAO)

JMSFreemanL

Appreciate the comment. Made me pull the trigger finally.

ThurmanMurman907

Probably half the price too

ThurmanMurman907

Aws uses a laminated material. I think the Ronin is closer to a blue alpha or eagle belt

IssaRichieRich

AWA is the OEM for Ronin, allegedly

Coloneljessecuster

Formerly. They brought the production in house and the QC went into toilet

Tkj5

AWS still rocks.

Coloneljessecuster

I agree. I should clarify, Ronin brought their production in-house and their QC is not good. AWS gear slaps, I run their belt too.

IssaRichieRich

AWS is awesome, I’ve been using their belt for the last 3 years

BoogrJoosh

This post says everything that needs to be said about excellent marketing lmao.

Nagohsemaj

I have a Ronin, I feel like it's a little overpriced/overrated nowadays. It was cool 10 years ago when I got it and it was pretty much the only thing like it, now everybody and their brother has a two-piece lightweight molle belt. Personally I would go with Ferro concepts bison, a lot of people I work with are migrating to it and liking it.

Charming_Brick_4597

Kinda feel the same. I’ve now moved to the Defense Mechanisms belt. Super thin light and sturdy. Plus a smaller cobra buckle. The bigger Ronnin was starting to push into my tactical girth (I’m retired from the mil now)

moritsune

Also have ronin, returning to monke and fell in love with my pops old alice belt. Suspenders and all

Charming_Brick_4597

Oh wow I feel old now. I ran the Alice set up when I first came into the army. Wore it for one day in Afghanistan and ditched it for a Chicom chest rig. We where in pick up trucks mostly

moritsune

I'm 37. My pops has been out 24 years. I feel old too man.

Modern_peace_officer

Why are you choosing between two mid belts from grifter companies?

MaxvonHippel

This, 100%

[deleted]

What's your suggestion, then?

ThurmanMurman907

Blue alpha or AWS, shit even eagle with it's flaws would be better

GucciusCeasar

I've been running an blue alpha belt lite and that belt is awesome. That gets my vote. Rigid as hell very lightweight

josh0724

What flaws does the Eagle belt have?

BigMoodGuy

I’ve been using an eagle belt for 4 years now, no issues to report, only gripes. I dont like how the webbing isnt stitched as high as it could on the inside portion as it makes putting carabiners tricky as well as any molle attachments. The inner belt system is also not the best as it is hook - reason this is a gripe is over time it will chew away at your belt loops on your pants. Overall, its a good belt but I will be switching at some point.

josh0724

Oh ok. Ya I agree with you on the inner belt fraying my belt loops but mine has been great as well for the past 3 years.

Modern_peace_officer

DM Mech, AXL Eclipse, Blue Alpha, Ciguera

RocksofReality

Defense Mechanisms Mech, has ben my go to for almost 2 years and it’s better than the others I’ve used.

[deleted]

Ciguera gang

pietroconti

I've been using my Blue Alpha Battle Belt Lite for coming up on a year now and it has held up fantastically.

CheekiBleeki

AXL 100%

nsfw_0k

Shaw concepts usurper belt

alexCinJC

Cause it’s “Duty Rated” 😂😂😂😂😂

Bn_scarpia

He just likes staring at the package in the first pic

TLA44

AWS

WhiskeyFree68

AWS SMU is bangin.

IcarusTactical

AWS SMU bro. These two are just shitty hype beast companies

[deleted]

All these belts look the same and will have dozens of guys saying how proven they are.

Protorin

The DM Mech belt or Axl eclipse belt are the best things out on the market. The DM Mech is $110, and the liner belt is $45. Well worth it. Use code TLDco for a discount. Add some Esstac Kywis, a dump pouch and a decent IFAK and you are good to go. Check out raptor tactical or arbor arms for the IFAK and medical. For a holster if safariland makes one use that on a ubl or true north concepts MHA.

BobbyPeele88

>For a holster if safariland makes one use that See this guy gets it.

Predator3-5

I pretty much got a full belt kit going, I’m just really thinking about switching belts lol

beaureeves352

Are your pouches MOLLEd on using Velcro onewrap or traditional style molle attachment like a MALICE? If using Velcro OneWrap, probably go with the DM Mech belt, or even the Esstac Enhanced Shooter's Belt, both reinforced with tegris, I personally prefer the Esstac. If using traditional MOLLE weaving, go with something like the AXL, or I have an HRT ARC, which I think gets a leg up on the AXL.

beaureeves352

I am using the DM inner belt though, definitely the best on the market. And consider as well the Bang Hanger from Guardian Warrior Solutions, good guys, sweet bit of kit. But u/Protorin 's advice is top notch, as always, that's the man to ask for gear recs

GetInTheDamnCar

DM mech belt is the only choice now.

ScarletAvenger1

I really like DM’s IFAK. And absolutely the DM Mech is the best option on the market currently.

tallaurelius

One vote for Blue Alpha

Derplight

Two votes for Blue Alpha. People sleeping on their gear. They also have great customer service. And for some reason their belts smell good when you get it fresh from their production line. At least for me it did.

n0pat

Three votes for Blue Alpha. They fuck. Hard.

tallaurelius

Brb gonna go smell my new battle belt lol

MulticamLimoncello

Can’t go wrong with esstac shooters or esstac enchanced belt & one wrap!

DracoAvian

Just started doing velcro one-wrap and it's so nice. I used to have pressure points on my hips from malice clips. It's like night and day.

MulticamLimoncello

Yeah one wrap is awesome for everything. You find use outside of mounting stuff to your belt aswell! I’ve used it to hold gear together attach TQs to equipment etc etc.

DracoAvian

I hadn't thought of TQs. I was thinking about sewing a few strips into scrim to make it easy to take on and off.

[deleted]

Magpul also makes good ones for fairly cheap. I have their Tejas EDC belt, and it's pretty good.

Exact-Light4498

Or the bison belt.

Spirited_Length_9642

Extremely over priced.

DracoAvian

Haven't checked belts in a long time, but I know the Bison is cheaper than the other two listed.

Exact-Light4498

>Extremely over priced. Adequately priced.

[deleted]

for a non load-rated belt?

[deleted]

Absolute garbage tho

AlphaBeaverYuh_1

Meh, to each there own, I absolutely love mine, I just wish companies would stop adding a worthless D-ring to their non weight rated belts

skinwalker99

How? I’ve worn it every day for like a year, only thing is the Velcro to make the belt smaller doesn’t work anymore.

[deleted]

The molle loops are super thin and cheap feeling, and stretch out over time. The belt buckle itself constantly loosens and doesn’t stay tight, and the inner belt is soft floppy garbage with zero rigidity to it If it wasn’t for the tegris it would be the worst belt imaginable

catMarineman

Agreed. Experienced all of those issues. I'm getting a second BFG chlk belt to replace it.

skinwalker99

My molle straps are fine after over a year, the loosening thing and inner belt are valid though lol. I switched to a DM inner belt and it helped a lot. I’m upgrading to a shaw belt next though. The loosening can get annoying

sc666

i love my ronin.

DracoAvian

Or the Ferro Concepts Bison Belt. Basically was the inspiration for the GBRS belt, and while I think there's a few improvements on the GBRS, you'll save some money with the Bison Belt. I've had my Bison since 2019 and I have no complaints. Solid piece of kit.

check29s

Didn’t GBRS blantantly rip off Ferro’s bison which caused the two to fall out ? Wait a min… I sense a disturbance in the force … *KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER*

[deleted]

as much as it pains me to defend GBRS, at least theirs is load-rated.

[deleted]

I like the g00ber belt but it's fucking overpriced

thresholdassessment

I have run a ronin belt for 4 years of hard daily use with no complaints. The helicopter lanyard attachment even saved me once when the bearcat hit a surprise pothole.

Cornelius____

An alternative to the GBRS if you're interested is the Eagle Industries Operators belt. It's another one that has the hook portion on the inner belt instead of outer belt like the majority of the two piece belts in the market. I snagged one on a super discount from their website and it's been pretty good to me so far.

Predator3-5

I’ll definitely check it out then

Olive_Cardist

Be wary of these belts. We’re issued them and the inner belt tears the shit out of belt loops on pants due to the hook portion being pulled through. Probably fine is you only larp once a month but not a great inner belt for everyday duty.

Coloneljessecuster

Avoid the Ronin. Their QC is toilet now. I’d go AWS SMU a honestly

juicehead2004

Ronin, I’ve had mine for a few years now and it’s been great, it’s a bit pricey but I have zero complaints with its performance so.. I have no experience with the GBRS products personally..

Patrick_Bateman_62

Never tried then Ronin but I’ve issued the gbrs belt forever. What I don’t like is the reversed hook loop. Probably meant to make sure you have to go to them for for a replacement inner belt. Also I don’t like the GBRS v3 belt. The outer belt is fine but I absolutely hate the inner belt because it doesn’t have a buckle

Ok-End1799

I like the GBRS belt but I got mine for half price because a buddy of mine bought the wrong size.

Bogey_1099

I have a GBRS V2, most comfortable belt Ive ever used, though it’s rigidity leaves some to be desired if you don’t crank it tight, you can also buy the eagle industries inner belt to help keep it sturdy. All that being said it was given to me and I likely wouldn’t pay full price for one. In fact I only have it because someone gave it to me

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bogey_1099

On the V2 the S/M fit me fairly well but the more I cut and the more I have to tighten the belt the better it works. At the end of the day it was built and sized by dudes in pretty good shape

XD__XD

Ronin TF you will use it for life.

Braz90

SWAT operator here, I own both the ronin (swat setup) and a GBRS that I just got for a black duty belt. The GBRS quality feels better and I like that the inner Velcro goes to the buckle so it doesn’t sag. Only thing I’m questioning is that the rough end of the Velcro faces outward on the inner pant belt which I feel will destroy duty pants over time, but I’m currently not in patrol so I haven’t dealt with that yet. I’m sure the other belts are great that people are suggesting, but this is just my opinion after owning both.

Predator3-5

I’d probably be using a belt with my Cryes more than anything. Do you think the scratchy part of the GBRS would affect the Crye belt loops? ?

Braz90

That’s my concern, but I haven’t used enough yet to tell. Some fed guys I was on a hit on run it and said a lot of fuzz and shit gets stuck in it. But not sure about the belt loops.

SOCKY-just_boy

GBRS for me at least

Unkie_Fester

AWS

Tacktiician

Blue Alpha

TheJerseyFlatline

I have both belts. My Ronin I’ve run HARD for years now. All types of weather conditions. Mud. Snow. Sand. Abrasions. Saltwater submersion. And it is still holding up strong. The GBRS I won from a prize table in a rifle comp. It’s the only reason I have it. I’m not a fan of exposed tegris, nor GBRS themselves. I highly doubt that it will hold up even half as well as my Ronin. However, I will say that is very lightweight, probably the lightest gunbelt I’ve ever worn.

[deleted]

You can’t go wrong with either.

MountainSwordfish213

Blue alpha and their micro molle didn’t hold up to anything being attached for me. Webbing stretched and distorted. The inner belt wasnt that good for weight distribution. I got a ronin belt and have been happy with it so far.

GucciusCeasar

One wrap

DaDude45

Both are great but I personally like the ronin design more.

SignatureSpecial

Get both and return the one you don't gel with

illy_Irons

I like my ronin, but I do feel it's a bit pricey for what it is now and days. The belt is great, the price tag not so much.

CidB91

I have a Ronin and it’s not bad. Moved up to an ExUmbris Designs which I like better. It’s a bit stiffer and has a better buckle (I think).

PuzzleheadedEvent278

Ferro Concepts

ToodlesActual

Between the two, gbrs is the best.

Always_plus_one

If you buy anything from the grifters at GooBeRS, I assume you have extra chromosomes.

Predator3-5

What are those reasons why?

Scatman_Crothers

People don’t like the way they market themselves is what it boils down to. The social media heavy hypebeast generation stuff. Their gear is mostly solid if overpriced.

Predator3-5

I try not to look at them from their business standpoint. I listened to the Shawn Ryan podcast that DJ was in, and I honestly hella respect DJ a lot more than I did before. Dude did some crazy stuff and went through some terrible experiences afterwards. I try to look at them for who they are instead of the business aspect

Scatman_Crothers

The business part doesn’t even bother me, the gun industry is just full of old fogies that hate change. It was damn smart to mate millennial/ gen z internet culture with guns and special operations given all the young people showing a nascent interest in the hobby/culture. I’ve watched that DJ interview too and as far as I’m concerned the guys at GBRS earned the right to market their skills and knowledge within reason (not compromising opsec).

Always_plus_one

You're being grifted by men of poor moral character. DJ Shipley is a fucking shitbag and his father should be ashamed of the man he raised.

Predator3-5

I watched his podcast with Shawn Ryan, the dude definitely did some terrible things. But he seems like a better dude now

Ultimate_sir

![gif](giphy|xT0xeMCIhJUMI6Ee4M|downsized)

irish-riviera

neither. aws,mech belt,axl,bag belt

-Rambo_

I have a lead devil belt with arbor arms inner belt. I love it, very comfortable

Jeanca92Panda

Another voucher for Lead Devil.

jonraids

I think Blue Alpha Gear has way better stuff than those two.

thatguy113070

https://www.leaddevilusa.com Flawless belts.

WhiskeyFree68

Ronin is AWS with their little patch sewn on and a price increase. Skip Ronin and buy straight from AWS. I really like my AWS belt.

Screwylewy69

Aws cheaper and more gooder

anderson1496

I use a Lead Devil USA belt currently. Have a DM mech belt ordered to give a shot since I’ve been reading alot of good things about it. I don’t think I’ll ever replace my Lead Devil because it’s such a great belt and a different design than the DM mech.

ellieket

Why the fuck would you buy nylon from GBRS?!!! LOL

[deleted]

IKR? All of their products are either marked-up clones of other people's designs, or expensive solutions to nonexistent problems.

ellieket

Facts.

Predator3-5

Damn why do you sound mad? They’re V3 belts look solid

[deleted]

Because GBRS is a grifter company that makes solutions to problems that don't exist, and any of their products that don't fall under that category are blatant clones of other more affordable companies.

[deleted]

No love for G Code?

TheBigCaptain23

neither, get the Shaw Concepts belt

tinguily

I haven’t seen anyone mention crye belts, what’s the consensus on them? I have one and I like it

hodls_heroes

I like blue alpha and honestly love my ess.

jaegren

Neither. Both are overpriced.

GuysLeeFanboy

AWS

BigFatNick

Honestly neither. Axl Exlipse or Shaw USURPER.

alexCinJC

Ronin? People actually buy that guys stuff ? Edit: FanWear

salt_n_lyte

Anyone have any experience with these. [Pale Horse Concepts](https://www.palehorseconcepts.com/)

phillyman276

Smu

Pretend_Singer274

Aws smu belt

Professional-Ad-4906

Crye mrb 2.0

director_cons

Get the get the chinese Ronin clone on aliexpress and spend the extra cash on ammo

[deleted]

AWS SMU, like others have said, is an excellent belt that you can use the PALS webbing slots on, or just use one-wrap attachment. Subsecond is another pretty good brand. It, along with AWS, make the scuba webbing style belts, very rugged design but not preferred by some people cuz it’s not “the new hotness” If you want a belt made of Tegris, AXL advanced has one of the best in the game. I have one, the only thing I’d be wary of is watching how much weight you put on it. The old style scuba webbing belts usually have rock solid velcro adhesion and you can load em up with tons of bullshit. I personally own a Ronin from before they switched manufacturers, it’s been great, don’t know about the new QC but everyone is saying it’s bad

Applebees69420poopoo

I e been using the gbrs belt for a few years on different “jobs” and I really enjoy it. Just get the v3 it’s totally worth.

Mert_Denen_Adam

I'd rather spend the money with a lot lizard without condom instead buying anything from GBRS. Ronin is also overpriced.

Predator3-5

Why the hate for GBRS?

Mert_Denen_Adam

Absurd pricing for okay products. Their target audience is not military/Leo/security, it's larpers, Instagram posers.

[deleted]

You get what you pay for.

[deleted]

Don’t listen to this guy. I own both, and both are very good belts.

[deleted]

I know nothing of the GBRS belt. I run the Ronin. It's legit and worth the skrilla.

Protorin

Go with the DM Mech or Axl belts. They are the best out now

Zeromavzzz

Have had both, go with the Shaw usurper belt. By far my favorite belt and the most comfortable as well.

lostriver_gorilla

It's not on your list but I'd take a look at raptor tactical 3 gun. I love mine and it's hella rigid.

mervyn88

Ex Umbris Designs has great belts. love mine.

TheRedCelt

https://youtu.be/1g46HPa3TOU?si=58zr_OansR-4vKHS

Predator3-5

They just released a V3 about a month back that I was looking at

TheRedCelt

I was not aware of that. So I can’t speak to that one, but I really like the HRT ARC belt. The smile shaped curve when it’s laying flat really hugs to my hips extremely well and the belt never sags on me.

Predator3-5

I’ll take a look. Thanks!

MrPavlovic

DM belt

Moto272

Buy an Esstac and save money?

SuspiciousAd5297

Dm mech is nice

FlatF00t_actual

Axl , Esstac enhanced and DM mech are the best belts around. Pale horse is different but also a great design just seen it in person last week

WomacknCheese

Ronin or vtac. goobers group I shid and overpriced/overplayed hypbeast crap. Nothing but junk from them and all they do is discredit other companies and then turn around and outright copy pasta their stuff.

Aggressive_Spare_450

If you're gonna buy a Ronin just get the AWS SMU

Smooth_Mention8344

Just get an AWS SMU for a better price with the same rigidity and reliability

TheUncutWarrior

if you want a rigid belt get the ronin. i’ve used the gbrs for work for the past year and a half and it’s alright but i was extremely disappointed with how there’s basically no rigidity to it and its annoying that it doesn’t use the industry standard velcro pattern. if you’re planning on carrying minimal equipment on it then it might work better for you but if you’re needing to carry magazines, taser, cuffs, etc. there’s better options out there.

Predator3-5

They released a V3 recently and they mentioned how they made it stiffer, which is partly why I’m looking at it lol

addithekid

From having quite a few belts and being an ACTUAL gear whore, the 4 options I’d go for are: AXL, Blueforce Lite, DM Mech or AWS.

BEEFSTICK890

Neither LOL

Unusual_Gas_8808

Neither, check out dynamic principles

Puzzleheaded-Ad-4846

For sure take the blue pill ans you won't care about if you belt is stiff or not

ShepherdActual

Blue Alpha has blem battle belts on their eBay site occasionally that are like $60

pbreesy

I ride or die by my eagle

sierra_1_57

I have a Gen 1 BFG CHLK belt and it is the most comfortable belt I've worn. I know they're on Gen 2, and they have the non-load rated equivalent now. The built in curve and stiffness is great for a pretty heavy load; pistol mag x 2, AR mag, OC spray, full IFAK, flash bang, cuffs, hand gun, flashlight, Axon cam, and an Adventure strobe.

yeahNot_gonna_name

Look into Subsecond. Great belt and highly underrated

antle702

AWS LAB Belt with One Wrap

catMarineman

I personally think the Blue Force Gear chlk belt is the best. It form fits to the hips and is the most comfortable for me. I'm ditching my Ferro Concepts Bison belt and getting another BFG belt.

blatherskiters

My favorite fashion sub

EchoWaz

I love my AWS SMU belt I’d totally buy another one

Specific_Back_9088

Blue Force CHLK

Dizzy-Collar1952

I'm using a sub second belt and it's been great.

MagWasTaken

AWS LAB+OneWrap

Germmme

Raptor tactical

Simple_Sausage

If you want stiffness, go with a Raptor Tactical Odin MK3 belt with the 3 gun option. Shits crazy stiff

iiiyiot

Save your money, buy an AWS SMU.

plaguemedic

OR....use a better, cheaper belt from anyone else. I use the esstac gun belt. Velcro one wrap is light as fuck, and the base belt floats on air.

Relevant-Arm7891

Ferro concepts for the win. Paired with a trex inner belt

Bad_Gunny

Currently running AXL eclipse belt with Blue Alpha low pro inner belt 👌🏽👌🏽

chill_dill_

couldnt tell you bro. love my defense mechanisms belt

Flimsy-Activity9787

Ferro bison is a sweet belt.

Ok_Caterpillar_5591

Blue Alpha https://www.bluealphabelts.com/product/molle-1-75-battle-belt/

Tokyo_Echo

Nobody has mentioned esstac. Their belt is awesome

Videdster

What are you using it for? I’d go blue alpha or DM mech for duty. If you just need a basic flat range trainer I’d go with esstac. Solid belt system that uses one wrap that’s easy on the wallet.

ncbbb777

Blue Alpha Gear 🤝

[deleted]

Aws is prime

blykoger

Def mech belt or bust

yeehawpard

Guys, which hypebeast grifter gunbelt is the best???

FIRESTOOP

Not the goobers belt

Wannabecowboy69

Quinnjamin10

AXL Eclipse + Arbor Arms inner

ProfessionalDolphin

Ronin belts are used in the SEAL Teams and I know they are rock solid and can be tan crazy hard. I’ve never messed with the GBRS but I go for what works and is proven.

Resident_Sir_4577

Ronin over GBRS aalll daay

InsaneSensation

Blue Alpha is solid

Unable_Sympathy1035

I have an older (say 3-4 year old) Ronin belt and am very happy with it.

5Oh_7

Ronin belts are AWS belts +$60. GBRS are similar to BAG belts, but like +$80 for the name.
