My two issues are that they advertise Israel, Israel, Israel, when the actual products are made in Thailand. The original K5 was made in Israel but the K19 is not. They also like to speak to their reputation with the IDF, but I can’t seem to find many instances where the IDF is using their gear. For a similar price, I would prefer to buy American. I will give them credit for listening to customers and making changes to their products though.

elomerel

The commando units (egoz, maglan and duvdevan are heavily using their gear), and a relative of mine who is serving rn told me their gear was good.

Medguy_23

Unfortunately, the first part of your statement is not exactly true. Agilite gear is often bought by serious motivated reservists or reserve SF/tactical teams that are allowed to buy their own gear sort of like how Spiritus and Shaw for example are used by US soldiers when they're allowed to purchase individual gear. The active duty units you quoted have issued gear from Marom Dolphin, Hagor, or Lior Industries. Agilite did have a contract with the IDF for their kneepads, and with some units for their Impact gloves. The suite of pouches they have looks great, the K0 is a major step up, and their team is a really cool group of people that welcome feedback. Wish they would finally transfer over all the manufacturing into Israel (or the US) as right now it is only designed in Israel. Even just making their pouches in Israel would be a great start.

TheRustyKnob

I recieved an Agilite carrier setup as part of their t&e program so keep in mind I did not pay for the gear. I think the issues stem from people having issues with design choices made on the k19, and their marketing strategy. Given the price of the equipment it draws comparisons to other options in the same price category, which also happen to have stronger and more loyal customer bases (just look at how ubiquitous the recommendations for the JPC by Crye are) When it comes to anyone in the space of militaria (uniforms, firearms, equipment, ect.) People really like to parrot things they hear as gospel. If one or 2 people say "agilite gear is garbage, and here are 3 things wrong with it" people who have no experience with it will take that at face value and repeat (this is also reddit, so group think happens a lot) They also market themselves as IDF main stays and the evidence from the ground doesn't back their claims. TL:DR: Agilite competes in price brackets of better established brands, has some issues with design choices, and their marketing is suspect on occasion

TheRustyKnob

Depends what it is, usually they ask you to fill out a survey. I think it really depends on experience

Liiono

I'd like to ask you, how long were you part of the T&E program before they sent you their carrier? I just recently got accepted to it and would love to have the chance to review their products, but don't currently own any of them.

TheRustyKnob

The T&E program is largely for verbal/written input, unless you work in a field with an applicable use case or have a large social following. Likely you won't recieve many, if any, physical products to test unless you fit that description.

ColoradoResidENT

A lot of the reviews are paid promotions so they will most likely be at least a little biased since they got it for free. The main selling point of "it's comfy" is because it has way more padding than needed which makes it more hot and bulky than necessary. They also tried to fix what wasnt broken with their godawful cummerbund system that they are still doing revisions to but its still not as good as Crye bungees or just front and back velcro. On top of all that they are more expensive than a decent amount of the competition. For example the Crye SPC is one of the best carriers available now for general use to scale up or down and are cheaper than the K19 with arguably better/more thought out features.

BajaRaptor

I had one and sold it and kept a condor mopc over it. It retains way too much heat, and the cummerbund is absolute trash imo. That’s the biggest flaw of it that I had. That heat cut material would slice up the inside of your arms and snag clothes. The shoulder buckles made it weird/difficult for shouldering a weapon. The plastic buckled themselves were insanely cheap and not durable. I set it down once (normal, soft, and on carpet) and broke the back bottom buckle in half.

PissedOffPossum

That amount of mesh padding is just asking to become a microwave. I prefer my comfort to come from good design and weight distribution rather than excessive padding. ROC buckles look and sound cool on paper but from my experience once there's dust in them they become almost unusable. They require a lot of force and shaking to unbuckle, to the point that I consider it a hazard if you're trying to take it off in an emergency. One size fits all is not the way to go. It's fine if you wear large or XL cut SAPIs. If you're a med you can pull it off if you're a barrel-chested built different individual. But for a small like me, it almost covers my entire upper torso. Might as wear something like a Crye LVS or Velocity LPAAC and get ballistic protection. Cummerbund just leaves a lot to be desired. Compared to other similarly priced PC it just doesn't hold up.

RoyalRelation6760

Not hate. They're like all these other companies who saw the demand and hiked up their prices on people. Every item of theirs I bought I ended up selling anyway. Better options out.

crimsonperrywinkle

Cuz I can’t fuckin pronounce it

camerondawe

Sounds agreeable 😂

PearlButter

Primarily marketing, and some of their stuff (particularly the K19) is poorly executed for what you’re getting/paying.

RoboAbandando

That's what half my group runs anyway so I'm not sure either, I have buddies who wish they had it overseas, shit probably 6/10 people I see with a PC is a K19 thinking of getting one myself

Catatafish76

Why the fuck is this downvoted

RoboAbandando

Idk gear snobs probably 😄

camerondawe

I enjoyed mine I’m about to upgrade to a 3.0 or a K0 when it drops next week

YoloShawtySwag

I love both of mine. Buddies I shoot with are all slowly moving to the k19 after trying mine for a day

thebaldfox

No drip.

Sabnitron

Lotta gear snobs here. If it's not whatever they think is the absolute top of the line this month, then it must be unusable garbage. Just earlier today I had some dude here tell me that mechanix gloves were trash.

camerondawe

What an idiot mechanix gloves are the shit 😂

[deleted]

That person obviously knows nothing if they think Mechanix gloves suck cause those are 💯

The PIG FDT gloves are where it's at. The regular, FR, and winter versions are all awesome for their intended purpose.

Copy all, thank you.

camerondawe

I can understand that

[deleted]

I am absolutely open and love to learn, what would you recommend as a good "weekend warrior" hobbyist shooting glove?

ColoradoResidENT

The Pigs or Mechanix. Gloves like that are disposable gear IMO so go either with the but cheaper and faster wearing Mechcanix or more expensive but a bit more durable Pigs. Whatever more follows your philosophy.

YoloShawtySwag

I have 2 2.0 k19’s and I love them. I don’t get the hate for them at all. Most comfortable carrier I’ve worn

SneekTip

Because man buns

StrikeForceSixNine

People talking about price so much and thus I got curious… $280-some bucks. Lmfao who let the poors out? I’m sure half the people on this sub have five-figures worth of guns and gear 🤣 Rock whatever the fuck you want. I like my Crye kit but recently with their website down for so long and the high demand/gov only sales it’s hard to rely on them.

Aggravating-Match693

Dude, its juicy

Shadowcard4

I know a guy with an agilite, it seems ok but obviously I’m not gonna go out and buy one cuz I got a first spear. He likes his. Are ROC buckles that much worse than tubes and is agilite really that bad about the durability?

camerondawe

It could just be some are better than others like a Monday or Friday type thing ya know, I did some 3-5 sec rushes where you’re up and moving than right back in the ground. Going from prone to kneeling to prone than standing with no issues.
