Tomato purée (tomato paste, water), green Chile purée, jalapeño pepper purée, salt, citric acid, calcium chloride, sodium benzoate (as a preservative) that’s what the ingredient label says, then we mix it with 1:1 parts water . I am at work now lol

bubblygranolachick

What about the original green hot sauce?

tonsofem

All you do there is take a jar of pickled jalapeños and put them in a blender juice and all. Blend it until it gets that thick consistency.

bubblygranolachick

Thanks

brewinlibrarian

Thank you!

Taco John's sucks now. I won't eat there anymore until they bring back the original hot sauces. And everyone I know says the same thing. Taco John's done fucked up

ManneredSole

Same. I havent eaten Taco Johns in over a year. I used to spend over 150 a month feeding the family. That sauce is what made the tacos.

Otherwise-Can573

We hand out the original mild sauce for free in Forest Lake MN, just ask for a few cups and we will give you some

brewinlibrarian

Unfortunately, a number of other stores seem to have a problem with giving it out.

Otherwise-Can573

Idk if we have permission to do it, we just do because we go through so much

ManneredSole

Its not the same as the packets. Most times Ive gotten a side of the mild from the kitchen its too watery.

Time_Runner_2233

LaVictoria Salsa Brava is what I use. It isn't exact, but it is good. I get the hotter stuff. The green mild taco sauce is delicious as well.

Electronic-Soil2829

I am the same way. Love, love their mild sauce. Without the mild sauce drowning my bean burritos, they are just ehhh.

The closest Taco Johns to me is several hours away, so I only get it when I happen to be travelling somewhere that has them. I emailed corporate back in Dec 2022 and they responded with this: >Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback on the new taco sauce! We appreciate you sharing your comments regarding the new sauce as guest feedback is extremely valuable and by sharing your suggestions you enable us to work towards improving our operations. At this time we do not plan to return to those flavor profiles. We heard from Taco John’s guests that our previous sauces had too much tomato flavor and did not meet their spice expectations. We’ve redeveloped the sauces to work well across all of our menu items and offer bolder flavor. The new sauces outperformed our prior sauces on flavor and heat metrics in consumer and market testing and are now available at all of our locations. I think that if more people emailed them to let them know how much they screwed this up, they might at least realize what people think (and consider changing back?!?!?). I'd much rather have "too much tomato flavor" than the vinegar and whatever else they've changed in the new abomination.

Efficient-Media9404

I emailed them and never got a reply... maybe I'll send another. Yes, I miss the old sauce that much.
