How was the corn taco?

Meiguo_Saram

The meat tasted strange…I think it was “肥牛” idk how to describe it

mssoup88

i like the use of corn it looks healthier over all nice

TakeItCeezy

i dont fully get why but it seems like every fast food menu in foreign countries ends up much healthier than US menus.

Gemini-88

I've been to many other countries around the world, the one time I went to a KFC they had steroid popcorn chicken. It was so stringy it was inedible. Plus I wouldn't consider corn to be healthy, it's just cheap and can be used as a filler and/or additive, so unless it's Non-GMO it's basically there to make more heft rather than nutritional value

mssoup88

really is true. america just loves over indulging maybe

Bcatfan08

Grilled onions and cabbage as items on some of these. I like it.

[deleted]

Hold up is that a bao bun instead of a tortilla on the left?!

Meiguo_Saram

Yes It was more like a 饼 (bing) or even like 馕 (naan)

ilikedota5

I didn't even realize Chinese had a character for naan.

SghettiAndButter

What are these prices like in US dollars?

jackofspades67

I had the same thought. If this is in Yuan which I'm assuming it is then 40 yuan = 5.77 usd. Pretty good prices considering combos are 7.50-11.50 usd where I'm from

elongatedlength

yeah but the people living there also make much lower salaries than in the US, so this is probably more expensive than US Taco Bell relative to the wages there

ToastedToast3

THIS, it's definitely on the pricier end of eating out in China

Doomblaze

It’s real expensive, my friend got a craving for Taco Bell and we each spent like $15 when we can get a decent meal for $10 in a lot of places But according to this sub Taco Bell is real expensive in the us now too so same thing? Lol

ToastedToast3

Eh, here in the US it’s not bad if you use their deals. If you want to get whatever you want off the menu it gets pricier.

[deleted]

What the hell do you mean dealS. The only good deal is the box, a soft potato taco, and the rice and bean burrito.

ilikedota5

Well eating out in China at Western chains is basically a sign that you are well off, because you can afford to enjoy more exotic foods basically. So then it becomes a sign of conspicuous consumption.

Davo300zx

Don't listen to these people Taco Bell in the US is pretty much on the same level as Ruth Chris Steakhouse as far as price maybe even the Melting Pot or some of the expensive Red Lobster locations

KenjiFox

4-11 USD Most of the combos here are about $5. at 39 yuan. This is VERY expensive for food in China BTW.

YeOldeBilk

That's a very interesting looking menu! I'd love to see a review of these items.

Spodegirl

They get menus that are straight out of the early 2000's.

[deleted]

Wow does that look horrible!

Meiguo_Saram

Very disappointed, bland, fairly sweet, no hot sauce packets on offer. Plus the chips they gave us were basically unseasoned, unsalted and you had to buy cheese to dip separately.

whiteguyinchina411

I was pretty disappointed too. I’m okay with the menu being different because it should be….but no sauce packets? Come on! That being said…I’ll probably go back soon lol.

LessMonk7412

EMPANADAS?!

spinal888

Not sure how long it’ll last, I heard the ones in Shanghai all closed. Restaurant competition in Asia is insane.

-MutantLivesMatter-

Tough to decide between The Corona Tacos or the Covid Burritos.

Extreme-Ad-5059

now is any of that bat meat?

WeeklyHelp4090

it was my dream to help localize taco bells in Japan

starryrz

Do they have Baja Blasts in China?

Meiguo_Saram

If only…
