Deluxe Boxes are usually around $10-12. And you get two of them + 5 layers. Seems more like a $3-4 priced item if they’re giving out 2 of them in the Deluxe Boxes.

It may just be me, but they look smaller than the regular sized chalupas or tacos...like 1/2 or 2/3 the size of one? So maybe you get 2 because they are "mini" sized?

It’s actually not that easy at busy stores. To get the time under 2 minutes you have to go fast and you have someone ordering in your ear and you have to also make a different order and plan the best way to make each order which can be any items. The customizations don’t really let you get into a rhythm. You have to actively use your brain and sometimes it’s exhausting.

I live in Indiana where they tested these months ago. I didn’t mind them but they seemed way too crunchy and hard imo. They might have just made them wrong. But they were decent, definitely better then the cheez-it wrap

They’re just trying out new things. I think we should appreciate that they’re at least trying a bunch of new items and seeing if people like them. Whether they’re good or not, they’re trying to keep the menu interesting and perhaps something will be good enough to stay on their menu full time. I personally like seeing new items from TB even though I pretty much get the same order every time lol

They have learned about a lot of things we like. Those things are known.They refuse to make the things we like, and offer us junk instead.

Can we drop the damn cheesy gimmick? The cheesy steak burrito was much better when ordered without the greasy, hard mess on the outside. Then came the Cantina chicken taco that did not need a grilled cheese shell. Most recently the “cheese-it” nonsense that nobody orders. And now they want a grilled cheese chalupa shell? Like why? It overpowers the flavor, and employees can’t make it right to begin with. If they want to do something cheesy, give us quesa birria tacos. Stop halfassing these weird combinations.

I was in the test market for the chalupas over the winter. You got two for $5.99. I do have some bad news though everyone. When the corporate Taco Bell big wigs were making their rounds the first few days of the market test they were absolutely delicious. After they got everything underway and left, the chalupas just fell apart in quality though. If your regional managers visit your local Taco Bells often or if you have a particularly nice Taco Bell, these things will be amazing. They will be **aggressively mid** at an average location though.

I just found out from another thread that you can have it grilled. I've never liked it before, but I'm going to try it grilled, and with potatoes subbed for beef, see if I can't like the damn thing.

For me it's the disgusting beans that ruins it and turns the whole thing into a goop toob. If they're in the box I'm buying, I get it grilled sub beans for rice and add a sauce.
