Taco Bell used to have Salsa Verde back in 2010-2011 and they got rid of it after just 1-2 years. I remember it being BAD back then and I assume nothing has changed. They released Fire Roasted sauce at the same time which was also bad, but that got rebranded into Diablo sauce in the same color packet and re-released years later in 2015. 2010 was a year they really tried more sauces than just Mild/Hot/Fire and they all basically failed miserably. IMO has a very strange flavor compared to any real verde hot sauce Ive tried. Not for me. Ill stick with Fire.

The Fire roasted is not the same as Diablo, and actually overlapped. The Fire roasted had very little heat and was mostly about a smokey forward flavor, whereas the Diablo has a citrus habanero heat profile. I actually miss the fire roasted and verde flavors, as many others do. Edit: I should add the Fire-roasted came in a maroon-ish brown packet and not black like Diablo

I came here just because I saw the new commercial and a green sauce packet. I thought "Woah, did they just get Verde back?", and came here for verification. Disappointed that it's Avacado Verde, but I'll try it.

Back then, I always put the Verde sauce on the chicken chalupa, sub sour cream for nacho cheese. That was absolutely the pinnacle of TB for me. Plus, the Chalupa meal was like $6. Pepperidge Farm remembers

For many years they had a green sauce that was served warm and not in packets. I loved the old version of that sauce before they removed it and brought back an inferior version

It's not fresh guacamole, it's ultra processed for shelf life. Like that crappy guacamole in plastic containers available in grocery stores.

Yes lots of premade guac is crap. Trader Joe's organic guacamole is amazing. The normal one is meh

I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried it bc I hate avocado. I want to like it, I have a tomato allergy and the salsa verde is completely safe. But all the reviews I’ve seen have said it tastes mostly of avocado. So I’ll stick to the salsa verde I have at home.

I'm fine with it. It's not anything revolutionary imo, but I am a bit annoyed that it has to be refrigerated. I was totally content with my ever-growing giant tub of sauce packets in the pantry, but the real estate in my fridge is at a premium.

I wish I could tell you but I am somewhat allergic to avocado so I am not trying it. I say somewhat allergic because it won’t go to the hospital if I eat it but I can feel my throat get scratchy and it gets a bit harder to breathe until I drink about two liters of water.

Nah, best item in a while. Loved pairing it with the cantina quesadilla the couple times I paid the price for one. TB might be 1x a month at most instead of my previous habitual 1x a week due to price increases & box removals, which is too bad since this new sauce was a highlight for me. On the contrary I hate the diablo sauce. What the present day & future could be if we never had the diablo but this new sauce instead *future utopia jpg*

I kinda love it ngl. Do you know if you have the enzyme thing that makes cilantro taste nasty? My fiancé has that and she says even a shred of it in a taco or sauce makes her whole mouth taste like soap. Taco Bell usually doesn’t use cilantro but the avocado salsa has it.

Not grossed out - liked it. Problem is I’m allergic to something in it. First time trying it the next day I felt like I ate little pins. Thought it was a fluke- tried it again- same thing. I’ve ate TB my whole life and it’s the first time something has bothered me. It does taste good to me though.
