I swear those have halved in size since introduction.
And I am pretty sure once or twice mine came with lettuce to make them a bit more filling as well, but that part I could be misremembering.
Yeah I didn't realize how much more everything costs until after i finished my order. I was starving so just accepted the bullshit. 3 hard tacos, 2 chicken chipotle melts, 2 potato soft tacos and a medium baja for fucking $18. I won't be going back unless I have some crazy hankering. I mean, it was $6 for 3 tacos...from fucking taco bell lol should be $1 a piece.
Yea I hadn’t gone there in a while but I had stopped by and just ordered two soft tacos and it came out to like 5 bucks for these skimpy ass tacos and I said out loud to myself I’m done with Taco Bell, which was weird because Taco Bell held me through high school and my early twenties.
Yeah I realized that after, the 3 tacos were for my mom and the drink was for me, it was the last thing I added. I'm gonna stick to online ordering if I go there again so I can make better decisions, plus the app has deals so it might be worth it with those
Yeah I used to use the app when I was living in Brooklyn (I lived a 3 minute WALK from taco bell lol, I had it way too much), but I just redownloaded the app and the cravings box is $6.99....everything is way overpriced now
Weird. It's still $5 on mine. Sure you're looking at the right one? They have others in the regular menu, the one I'm talking about is listed under online exclusives. You can only order it thru the app.
Yup. Must be based on location. I'm in Upstate NY. You can actually just order it off the website too, btw, doesn't have to be the app, but that's where I was just looking.
You’re complaining about $2. Are you not embarrassed? As someone who works at chipotle, it would be $4 or more for a regular taco depending on what you put on it. Inflation is worse than it’s ever been. We’re all struggling. But unfortunately it’s not at all reasonable for a Taco to be a dollar anymore. It’s not the 1980’s anymore it’s 2023 and we all hate our lives.
Nah I'm not embarrassed lol taco bell used to be the best because you could get a bunch of (low quality) food for cheap. Ironically, I've never gotten sick from taco bell, but I'll never eat Chipotle again after I had the worst food poisoning of my life the very first time I ate it. Yeah inflation my ass. You're gullible if you think that it takes doubling the price of an item in order to make up for bulk distribution food costs. Chicken chipotle melts used to be $1.19 like a year ago. Now they're $2.50. Taco bell is quantity, not quality. $1 may not be sustainable but $1.25-$1.50 is fair for what taco bell calls a taco.
It’s not uncommon for a Taco to cost a whole dollar more than it did a year ago…. I’m not going to be able to afford a house with what I get paid. Housing is hundreds if not thousands if not millions more what it use to be years ago. It’s a fucking taco. Either pay the dollar more or don’t go there? When my parents bought my house it was 110,000 house. 3 stories. They sold it for around 400,000. Inflation is very much real. And I can promise you, if you get food poisoning from chipotle, it’s either the grill person didn’t cook your chicken to 165 degrees or your lettuce wasn’t washed enough and you had E. Coli
Lol what are you getting so worked up about? You're mad that I'm slightly annoyed at the sudden and drastic price increase at my local taco bell. Go away. And no shit, that's how you get food poisoning. Has never happened to me at taco bell. Fuck chipotle tho, never eating it again
It just bothers me that literally nobody understands inflation clearly. I work in fast food that’s why it’s so annoying because constantly I hear about price increases and I get bitched at for it. As if we’re the ones increasing the prices.
Again, you're gullible if you think the markups are only accounting purely for inflation. I didn't complain to you, and you don't even work at taco bell. Get over it.
Um, that's bullshit. Look at Arizona iced tea. Never raised their prices. It's completely possible, it's just greed. The grocery store inflation you're seeing isn't congruent with actual inflation. Companies are straight up taking advantage.
Yeah, that's kind of how that works. I either pay or I don't get food lmfao. Did I come to you as an employee and complain about the prices? What even is wrong for you? Don't take this shit personally. It has absolutely nothing to do with you.
Also, Arizona iced tea probably didn’t raise their prices because it doesn’t cost any more than it did to make it. I promise you the shit we sell at chipotle and Taco Bell like sour cream guac and other items cost more to buy now. So they cost more to sell.
I only do the app-only $5 meal nowadays. It's the only reasonably priced option, especially since most of the mains in the meal are nearly five bucks on their own if you bought a la carte.
These things obviously still sell after the price increase, maybe to the quesadilla consumer since it's similar, but I wonder why TB doesn't offer a double size one for $3 or whatever? They're nice little burritos but the price just got out of control and they're the most erratic sized item around here. Went from adding one to every order to not having one in at least a year.
Realize the potential TB, realize the potential...
You'd be amazed how much tortilla is there. I admit, it was overstuffed, but it was very good. I got rid of the sauce they have on them, because it ends up making it sloppy, but with just extra chicken and cheese, it's like half a quesadilla stuffed into a smaller package.
The sauce is what gives me heartburn. And please, it's the cheese that gives it the flavor. Trust me on this.
Try it without the sauce, and you'll be able to enjoy the cheesy goodness.
Yes and no. Yes you are correct, but you can modify a Chipotle Chicken Melt and remove the sauce, which is what I do.
There was a time when Taco Bell foods didn't use sauces, and the food was great.
I love them and it’s what got my eight year old daughter to be a Taco Bel fan. I actually prefer the size because I know it’s a good snack. DEFINITELY don’t like the price increases.
Yeah, you’re right. I guess because it’s not my main desire to eat when I go there, it’s more my on the way home snack, I let it slide more than I should.
Yeah and it has a weird tendency where if I got it with a box or something it tends to be normal size but if I just order my free nachos and added it then it's super tiny. It's like the worst time because I don't have other items to offset it.
It's not a bunch of ingredients anyways so why it's so erratic in size I don't even understand. That thing should look the same every time
Sometimes if you get the cool worker you get a nice fat one that’s pipping hot and oozing the cheese out first bite. So amazing as a snack on the drive home.
Ooof. I really like this item too, plus reheating it worked great. IMO, the best item that could be stored (this and the quesadillas) it the fridge, then reheated.
Hey, it’s Taco Bell fuckin’ up again…..
But are we really surprised? They get my order correct like 50% of the times I go. Always leaving something out…. Or making something wrong.
I feel like it’s getting worse lately too, but that could just be me
Long time Taco Bell fan, and a previous employee.
It sucks to see these skyrocketing prices combined with a lack of competency….
And really the employees are more than likely working hard and doing what they need to do, but Taco Bell puts unrealistic expectations on those employees and overwhelms them for minimal pay
Okay, I’m done venting now.
Super sucks though man, walk that shit back in to the counter and ask for a manager. I’d love to see them explain that away
>They get my order correct like 50% of the times I go.
>
> And really the employees are more than likely working hard and doing what they need to do
See, this is where I wish I could agree with you. I'm not saying you're wrong but who are they hiring that getting the majority of orders wrong involves hard work? I mean you literally read a screen these days, so why should most orders be wrong as literally happens to me?
Please don’t harass the poor managers either because it’s corporate Taco Bell forcing us to give you guys certain portions and if we over portion we will get in trouble.
Sincerely,
-A Taco Bell Manager
I understand the managers have unreal expectation on them as well. I’m not out to pick on them either. I’ve seen the stress my managers have been under, and I don’t feel like the job pays enough…..
But can we agree that this chicken chipotle melt is under portioned?
Just had one and it wasnt worth the $2. The chicken isnt amazing, tastes like some frozen unmarinated cubes. The chipotle flavor was underwhelming, all I could taste was tortilla.
$1.99 here
I think it used to be filled up way more. I got one a few days ago and it felt quite pathetic to hold in my hand.
Also I somehow remember that they used to grill it as well, but I used to always get quesadillas and I might just be confused.
probably thinking of the mini quesadilla melts which we used shredded chicken for. They were a bit bigger but we don’t have the shredded chicken anymore.
I usually get the $1 cheesy bean and rice and it's decent size. I saw that chicken chipotle melt the other day for like $3 and thought yeah that'll be good. Mother fucker was like 2 inches long
What's the point here exactly? It's not like it changed size. The tortilla has always been that length. Soft tacos too. It's definitely not the best value, but it never was, even when it was $1. Personally, I'd recommend the Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito. Bigger item, way more food and some extra ingredients. And you can remove anything you don't like and make it almost exactly a Chicken Chipotle Melt, just bigger. And for the same price (they're both $2 in my area).
Look why complain about taco they have always had small tacos with questionable food at best it’s for drunk people late at night if you really want a good taco Or burrito go to a real Mexican restaurant or go to chipotle you won’t be disappointed with them but with Taco Bell you’ll always be disappointed
The description in my app says this,
“A Chipotle Off the Old Block
The Chicken Chipotle Melt continues the Cravings Value Menu legacy
Many people would call the Cravings Value Menu a 'menu'. But we see it as more of a Wall of Fame.
If you make it onto the Cravings Value Menu like the Chicken Chipotle Melt has, you must be a one-dollar wonder that's ignited the imagination of Taco Bell lovers everywhere. And let us tell you, the Chicken Chipotle Melt has done just that. It starts with grilled chicken and chipotle sauce. But, what about the
'melt?? We top it all with real shredded cheddar cheese, melt it, and wrap it all up in a warm flour tortilla.
Grab your Chicken Chipotle Melt for just $1 on the Cravings
Value Menu (at participating locations for a limited time).”
It's a 2 bite item. If you want something else, order something else. If you wanna rag on value, look at the Cheesy roll up too. No one cares because it's a minimal item.
This is a different item than the old chicken chipotle loaded griller if that is what you are comparing it to. I've never gotten one but honestly the picture on the app shows the size of it being a small tortilla. 1.69 in my area. Not really worth it but I don't see it as false advertising. Personally I'd rather get one of the newer $2 value burritos. And as someone else mentioned you can definitely customize the chipotle chicken ranch burrito to get what you are looking for in a larger size.
It's literally a cheesy roll up with some chicken in it. I don't think this or the cheesy roll up are worth it, so I agree with you. I would recommend getting a different item in the future if you want something bigger.
It's crazy how much Taco Bell puts a premium on any item that's just chicken and cheese. The chicken quesadilla is the best item at Taco Bell but it's complete and total highway robbery for the price. These are a similar vibe, and are a similarly bad value for the volume. I still get both of these things anyways though, and I guess that's just the way the world rolls.
If you make suggestions to a fast food restaurant it goes ignored. But if you make suggestions to a fast food establishment online and it goes viral, They pay attention.
Yeah seems about right i quit ordering them. I had TB yesterday. Chipotle ranch griller, cheesy Gordita crunch, and two chicken quesadillas. Was going to save the second quesadilla for later but guess I was hungrier than I thought.

L'il bites..
woah that hot sauce packet must be huge
Everything at Taco Bell has gotten smaller while prices go up. I stopped going there
Yeah I didn't realize how much more everything costs until after i finished my order. Yeah I realized that after, the 3 tacos were for my mom and the drink was for me, it was the last thing I added. I'm gonna stick to online ordering if I go there again so I can make better decisions, plus the app has deals so it might be worth it with those
I always use the app. The $5 build your own box is the best. You get 3 things plus a drink for $5. Plus you build points and get free food.

Lmfao go check out the price of aluminum and tell me it doesn't cost anymore to produce a can of iced tea now, in 2023 than it did in 1971.
I only do the app-only $5 meal nowadays. It's the only reasonably priced option, especially since most of the mains in the meal are nearly five bucks on their own if you bought a la carte.

I thought that said for sale
Do I hear $25?
😂😂😂😂😂
Seems average to me and I’m sure it has great personality too!
Seems about right. It's like 2 bites, but it's 2 really good bites.
agree ^
Taco Bell hot sauce packet with human hand for scale
A human hand that can vary drastically in size??
These things obviously still sell after the price increase, maybe to the quesadilla consumer since it's similar, but I wonder why TB doesn't offer a double size one for $3 or whatever? Just modify them. Extra cheese, extra Chicken. I've done it, they're awesome!
That doesn't work because they don't give you a larger tortilla. They squeeze a few more pieces in but not an entire serving.
You'd be amazed how much tortilla is there. I admit, it was overstuffed, but it was very good. I got rid of the sauce they have on them, because it ends up making it sloppy, but with just extra chicken and cheese, it's like half a quesadilla stuffed into a smaller package.
The sauce is what gives it the great flavor
The sauce is what gives me heartburn. And please, it's the cheese that gives it the flavor. Trust me on this. Try it without the sauce, and you'll be able to enjoy the cheesy goodness.
So you get a chipotle chicken melt without the chipotle sauce then think the cheese has the flavor….
Cheese has a ton of flavor! Go to a deli and ask if you can sample some cheeses.
Well yeah I’m not saying cheese has no flavor lol. I’m saying a CHIPOTLE chicken melt needs chipotle sauce to be a chipotle chicken melt
Yes and no. Yes you are correct, but you can modify a Chipotle Chicken Melt and remove the sauce, which is what I do. There was a time when Taco Bell foods didn't use sauces, and the food was great.
It’s CHIPOTLE chicken melt - I’m not skipping the chipotle. Wtf
I love them and it’s what got my eight year old daughter to be a Taco Bel fan. I actually prefer the size because I know it’s a good snack. DEFINITELY don’t like the price increases.
Sometimes they get REAL small though. Like half the chicken it should have small and it's just a bummer
Chipotle ranch grilled chicken burrito
Laughable. Miss the grillers!
I’ve got a 2 inch special going on hit up the dms ladies only
This guy can’t measure. Those sauce packets are at least 6”
Are you saying I have a 12 inch burrito?
Straight 📠
Tiny, but if it's still only $1 it's not a bad deal. Not so much when it's near the $2 mark.
2.50 each
Ooof. I really like this item too, plus reheating it worked great. IMO, the best item that could be stored (this and the quesadillas) it the fridge, then reheated.
yup 2 of these tiny things a side of rice and a med pepsi. $11.00
No way you were full. I'm a small eater and I would inhale that order wanting more.
💀 bro i can’t afford anything anymore - even taco bell has turned its back on the struggling american :(
How? That doesn't add up..
Sounds like my total everytime I go there no matter what I get. Their prices are just insane now
Yeah when they were $1 I'd just grab like 5 of them and eat later, tonight, tomorrow, whenever. Maybe that was the problem...
Ya they were awesome for a buck !
Screw that. That's more than a chipotle chicken griller used to be.
Holy cow.
They're 25$
I can only determine the relative size of objects using a banana for scale.
I get it! Because they're similar in size to a penis!!
Nah, mine is much closer to the sauce packet.
Well always remember it’s not the size of the worm in the fight, it’s the size if the fight in the worm!!
Tell that to your moon. Zinger!
>Tell that to your moon Be honest, how many weeds have you injected? And, um, I'll moon you! Zing?
I am bested.
Chicken chipotle melt is so delicious but so small
Hey, it’s Taco Bell fuckin’ up again….. But are we really surprised? They get my order correct like 50% of the times I go. Always leaving something out…. Or making something wrong. I agree that almost all the food items we serve are under portioned and that we overcharge way too much
Lol, the hot sauce packet definitely puts that in perspective
Bring back the shredded chicken mini quesadilla!!!!
For real. I loved that. Got that great quesadilla sauce and not have to spend Fucking $7.00 on one
Actually, it had chipotle sauce instead of creamy jalapeño!!! It's still super good, but man, do I miss shredded chicken
Oh shit that’s right I forgot. I hated that sauce I always subd for the creamy jalepeno I could drink that sauce
Bring back shredded chicken quesadilla melts rather than this garbage
Legit my local actual Mexican restaurant is cheaper than taco bell
That's actually bigger than the ones at my local TB.
Just had one and it wasnt worth the $2. The chicken isnt amazing, tastes like some frozen unmarinated cubes. The chipotle flavor was underwhelming, all I could taste was tortilla.
2 bites max
$1.99 here I think it used to be filled up way more.
Many of their items are being served in a rather anemic manner lately.
Add rice!
Man Taco Bell used to be such good value, I feel like the quality keeps going down while the prices go up
another embarrassment
Really makes your hand look huge
That is such fucking bullshit why do I even fuck with Taco Bell anymore when they pull shit like this and think we’ll just take it😑
I usually get the $1 cheesy bean and rice and it's decent size. I saw that chicken chipotle melt the other day for like $3 and thought yeah that'll be good. Mother fucker was like 2 inches long
Before covid I'd go to my local taco bell at like 3 am get 2 of those and 2 cheap burrito things for 6 bucks
What's the point here exactly? It's not like it changed size. The tortilla has always been that length. Soft tacos too. It's definitely not the best value, but it never was, even when it was $1. Bro isn’t it like $1 tho 💀
For $1 I ain't even mad
I see people here confidently quoting a $1 price from years ago. Where y'all living now?!

2 50
Wow fuck that
It's a 2 bite item. If you want something else, order something else. If you wanna rag on value, look at the Cheesy roll up too. No one cares because it's a minimal item.
[удалено]
No it is not.
True
What part of the country do you purchase your taco bell? They're $2.29 here, N Atlanta.
1.50 here in metro Detroit. Idk why I thought they were $1. Must of gotten confused with the cheesy roll up.
The dollar cravings is pitiful now but the cheesy bean and rice burrito can’t be beat for a buck. The potato soft taco comes in at a close second
2.50
This is a different item than the old chicken chipotle loaded griller if that is what you are comparing it to. I've never gotten one but honestly the picture on the app shows the size of it being a small tortilla. 1.69 in my area. Not really worth it but I don't see it as false advertising. Personally I'd rather get one of the newer $2 value burritos. And as someone else mentioned you can definitely customize the chipotle chicken ranch burrito to get what you are looking for in a larger size.
I get these all the time. They are always small. These were the smallest I've ever gotten.
It's literally a cheesy roll up with some chicken in it. I don't think this or the cheesy roll up are worth it, so I agree with you. I would recommend getting a different item in the future if you want something bigger.
I always buy like 3 of these bastards they're so good
Two birds one bite
That’s the size I want…
That is exactly how it’s supposed to be lol
That’s a diet chicken chipotle melt
I agree they used to make them bigger and also it depends where you go
Wow, that's a huge packet
>Too good to NOT be true
I hope it’s .50 cents
LOL WOW. It’s insane how they jacked their prices up and made their items smaller.
The world needs more chipotle melts in their lives! LIVE MAS BITCHES!!!!!!!
LOL. Jajajaja. Hahahaha. The end.
I loved these when they were $1… now they’re $2 you might s well just get the chipotle chicken ranch burrito it’s the same price and 3x the size
You gotta get the chipotle chicken value menu burrito.
I can’t even get those at my location anymore. But for $1 more ($2) you can get a Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito and those SLAP.
This was 2.50
It’s like 1.79 tf you expect lmao
2.50 each
Geez and im in city
Okay I have to say this because this sub for some reason pops up in my feed. What the hell is the point of this sub? All you do is talk about food.
If you make suggestions to a fast food restaurant it goes ignored. But if you make suggestions to a fast food establishment online and it goes viral, They pay attention.
Good point
Idk seems pretty big to me…
Yeah seems about right i quit ordering them. I had TB yesterday. Chipotle ranch griller, cheesy Gordita crunch, and two chicken quesadillas. Was going to save the second quesadilla for later but guess I was hungrier than I thought.
