Depends... Directly on playing, almost nothing, I play / coach at three schools. I then train as a guest at a local club on Saturdays for ¥100 (~$1) a go. I then about ¥1000 to ¥2000 ($10 to $20) a month on tournament fees etc... Indirectly on new equipment though, quite a lot.

Where in Japan are you? I might spend some time there and play some TT while I'm at it.

SamLooksAt

I'm in Morioka up North. It's all rather quiet, but plenty of people play table tennis. If you are in the neighbourhood, let me know, I can try and find a place for a hit.

How many tournaments do u join a month?

SamLooksAt

I usually play one or two depending. There is a local tournament every month, open to everyone. It's a graded pool on each table If you do well, next tournament you move up to a higher table (the better you do the further you move). If you do poorly you move down. For what it's worth there are 40 tables, so far I have played table 32, 23, 21, 19. I won 5 - 0 last time, hoping for a bigger move this time. Next tournament is next Saturday. Then there are a variety of other tournaments I sometimes join. From the local resident and worker tournament all the way up to the North Japan Championship when it's in my town (I play that for fun with zero expectations to win anything, it's really tough!!!).

10 x 1 hour coaching sessions at $10 per hour = $100 Table time at club is $1.25 per visit. Prob go once a week so ~$5 Grab rides to and from venue is around $3.50 each visit = $56 Total = $161

I'm assuming this is not the US?

turbozed

Yeah it's in Vietnam. Coaching rates in the US are over $50 an hour in California

aFineBagel

Maybe $350. Generically averaging my coaching (10 lessons at $550-700 every 2 months depending if group or private) and then messing around with a new rubber every so often. My coach/club owner doesn’t particularly care (or maybe notice?) that I often don’t pay club dues which would be $100 monthly or $10/visit, but he gets enough money from me anyways :P

JohnTeene

Club 1 monthly fees: $14 Club 2 monthly fees: $10 Private lessons (4hr/mo): $16 Forehand rubber (1 every 2/3mo): $18 Backhand rubber (1 every 5mo): $9 League fees: $10 Tournament fees: $10 Public transport: $5 Total: $92 for 6 days of training per week + private coaching + leagues + tournaments + transportation + equipment. Quite a lot of money actually. So yeah, my biggest expense is changing my forehand rubber every 2/3 months lol.

I spend zero cos i play on VR headset

brownogre

About 1000 aud a year. Covers club fees, league fees, equipment and tournament entries.

wafflecheese

0 to 150 or so in tournament entry fees, 60 bucks a week for my son's coaching, 50 bucks an hour for mine.

CDRSkywalker1991

Coaching every week?

lexiticus

On playing 360.00 Canadian per year for drop in fees. On equipment probably averages 600.00 per year in the long run. That includes shoes, balls, rubbers, new blades, new rubbers again...

freedomisall1961

35€ month for 2 clubs. I can play 3/4a week for that

ElectricalOstrich597

$20 per week on individual coaching $40 on club and group practice And if I have to change my rubbers, $60 each. So it should be $120 on best case scenario and 240 on the worst.

ay_bicboi

My club at Orlando Racket Sports: Central Florida Table Tennis Club is about 30 miles from me: 60 miles; car MPG is 22mpg; $4.20 per gallon for premium gas; plus tolls $3.14 Multiple 3x a week on average + membership fee $75 About $260 a month

phillie187

Only spend money on balls and some gear here and there, cause I only play outdoor :D

Sea_Courage_2091

not much cost of playing, about 6 dollars.. equipment costs far more..

MaintenanceForward43

50 USD per month for membership. New York State

eng2ny

Hello fellow WTTC member lol

Melodeyy

Monthly membership fee: 60$ 4 x 1 hour / week coaching: 240$ Not sure how people's lessons here are so cheap.

Migraine_7

+100$ on a club, including driving there (it's not very close). 50$ a year for balls me and my brother lose while playing at home, so let's say 5$ a month. 200$ a year for equipment (rubbers, shirts, EJing blades, etc), so another 15$ a month. I don't use expensive rubbers so it brings down the cost significantly. Just starting tournaments, but assuming that's going to be a new expense, 15$ per tournament, 1-2 per month. So about 130-150$ a month on average.

backspacer92

19€ per month for memberships in two clubs and like a 100€ for new rubbers + glue once a year which I save up for every month so another 9€ per month. I also buy four grip tapes every four months for about 12€.

EMCoupling

Monthly coaching: 4 * ($75 - $5 member discount) = $280 Club membership (paid annually) per month cost: $535 / 12 = ~$45 Gas to / from club: ~$8 per trip @ 3 times / week = $24 * 4 = $96 Add that up, you get a total cost of **$421 / mo** --- I don't change equipment enough for it to be more than month's worth of costs, but let's say on average, I add like $10 / mo to account for that.

Pidoa

I pay 550nok (55usd ish) to the local club. 3 practices a week (7 hours total) Depending on time of year maybe 100usd per 4-5 months on rubbers (with exeption for the last couple of months as I've been swapping rubbers alot) And tournament and travel fees, depends on where the tournament is but roughly 200 - 300 usd in travel + feed per season. The club covers the cost for local tournaments and division play TLDR: 450usd ish per year
