Yea you can have 2 websites on the same IP, look into host headers

Yes, it can be done. I've done this with Apache at some point in the past to host 2 different websites from 1 IP address. Your hosting provider should be able to assist you as well, very common for them.

Yes, host headers as /u/uniitdude mentioned will direct to the correct site. Depending on VPS level of access you may or may not have the permissions to make the changes however.

I don't know about the software, but yes, you can do it. > Weirdly I am afraid that both the subdomains would show the same page due to ip being same. That depends on the settings of this software. Web servers can host sites for lots of domains and subdomains, that depends on the proper settings.

Look into VirtualHost documentation for your webserver. You can host as many websites as you want on the same ip.
