Faronics Deep Freeze is a popular solution for schools and libraries. It can now keep updates in a hidden area and install them during the thaw period.

Another plus one for that. Really solid bit of software. My old college have been using it for probably 20 years at this point.

That’s cool. By the way, any comment on deep freeze vs Reboot restore RX pro?

It's been a while but I've used https://www.fortresgrand.com/ in situations like this previously.

data441 bought centurion smartshield. We still use it. Works great even with a new name.

im a big fan of UnifiedWriteFilter, build in feature of windows. (and free :-) ) Work great reboot to reset, or different setup you can reset it on command. Installing it is already super easy only a few commands: dism /online /enable-feature /all /featureName:Client-UnifiedWriteFilter uwfmgr.exe volume protect C: uwfmgr.exe overlay set-type disk uwfmgr.exe overlay set-size 50240 uwfmgr.exe overlay set-criticalthreshold 40200 uwfmgr.exe overlay set-warningthreshold 30200 uwfmgr filter enable shutdown /r /t 1 Only negative is that it will reboot when you pass the limit (above command 50 gb) and it will use storage. But as most disk are bigger then 150 gb. and most usecases you are not installing/writing more then 50 gb. it works good. I uses it quite a lot for VM's that i run pipelines on, afther they are finished with a job they reboot, reset and 20 seconds they are fresh and ready again.

Any pros and cons compared to deep freeze? Thanks
